Speaker 1 (00:01):
See number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This
is no bloom Daddy experience. Your host bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news Radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good morning, seven oh six on your Tuesday, The bloom
Daddy Experience salmon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. All right,
wake up, folks, wake me up, folks. Dragon a little
bit this morning. You and I both otis you have
a better excuse than I do, But getting there.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, I'm getting there, good min though my last three
days have been.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Horrible, a little rough. But hopefully what you found out
is well what you discovered. Yeah, at three fifty five
this morning, Yeah, the gem the sick dogs are not fun.
We'll we'll just leave it at that, but hopefully this
(01:08):
is good news.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Yeah, yeah, you know, he's been having some issues. Yeah,
And at three point fifty five I heard I'm thinking
he has to go back out, and I hear him
clicking because his tonails and he's trimmed. So he's going
across the kitchen and he's I hear him slurping up
some water and he comes back in my bedroom and
I heard this gurgling sound out of his stomach and
(01:31):
I'm like, oh, crap, Only I didn't say crap.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
You're waiting for the eruption.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
And I'm like, he's gonna puke. So I jump out
of bed and I'm trying to push him into the
hallway because he's a big boy. Yeah. Well, I mean,
like my shoes are right there, the clothes that I
had on last night before, because I didn't take him
down to the laundry yet, you know, they're sitting right
beside my bed. And of course he pukes all over
my clothes. Ah, So as I'm cleaning it up, and
(01:57):
there's a couple of them throughout the house. But there's
brick like ropes that the dogs chew on and you
kind of played tug of war with. But there was
one that was like chewed and it was nothing but
strings and it came out looking like a meatloaf. I
and it was and it was just he puked that out,
And I'm thinking that's probably been the problem for the
(02:19):
last three days.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
That pretty good culprit there and.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Little little little ease on. I mean, I mean, I'm
glad that it happened, because now because I'm thinking I'm
taking to the vet today and that things aren't going
to go well, and you know, we're probably gonna have
to put him down. But now that I've seen that
and that was what the issue was, I'm thinking, Okay,
we probably got a little reprieve the governor. The governor
(02:46):
called at three fifty five this morning. So anyway, that's
how we'll put it that way. So anyway, but yeah,
I mean it's I mean there could be other issues
in there as well, but you know that what is
he almost eleven, but he's such a and his hips
are bothered even I mean, he's such a big dog
(03:08):
as far as wait wise, and he's just like if
he walks one hundred yards now he's gassed. I mean
he can't. He doesn't go any farther. I can get
him in my jeep and I can get him out,
but if I got to get him back in, it's
a chore. And I have a ramp for him, but
he won't use the ramp because he's he's he's never
(03:29):
used it before, so he's not sure of it. Yeah,
my son had a ramp for his dog and that,
but like he said, it takes him a while to
get used to it. So we've tried a few times
and it just doesn't.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
They're so odd. My dog will walk upstairs, no problems.
Will not walk downstairs no matter what. I don't know.
I don't know what it is, but we'll not do it.
Will not do it. Post this on our Facebook page.
This is gonna be a question we're going to put
out there today. So I don't know. If you saw
the announcement, breaking news, there are going to be new
(04:04):
emojis coming soon. Okay, now, there's not any pregnant men
like last time around. That was one of the big
announcements last time they did this. There's going to be
things on there, like a bigfoot, but they're calling it
a hairy creature. I get maybe bigfoots copyrighted. I don't know.
(04:24):
There's going to be a treasure tress, there's going to
be an orca, a musical instrument, different things. So there's
gonna be new emojis. So I put this on our
Facebook page. If you could create an emoji, what would
it be? What would be something new, fun, different that
you would want to see created as an emoji. I've
(04:46):
been thinking about this and I I know, I know
it's silly, but it's fun. It's, you know, something laid back.
I can't think of anything. Probably I don't know if
a pizza's up there. But any fun ideas, any fun ideas,
put them on our Facebook page. You can comment on
the post, or of course you can get to our
text line which is seven zero four seven zero. Start
(05:10):
the message off with bloom daddy and tell us what
kind of emoji you would create, also mentioning our text line.
Tomorrow we're gonna be choosing or picking our winner for
our free lunch on Friday, so still plenty of time
to register. You can email Sam at iHeartMedia dot com.
(05:32):
That's Sam at iHeartMedia dot com, name, phone number and company.
Or you can do the same thing on our text line,
same information and that number is seven zero four seven zero.
Start the message off with bloom.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Daddy and don't forget. At eight thirty five, we will
be interviewing PBA Hall of Famer Pete Webber. He's in
Morgantown this week for a pro am if you're If
you're not familiar with Pete, you can google him. He
is the he is the professional Buller Tours bad boy.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
I watched some videos last night.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, he he kind of like, you know, you love
him or you're hate him. I think it's kind of
like one of those deals. But I and I think
one of the things that I'm going to ask him
is like he and Tiger Woods kind of have something
in common. I'm not going to say they're like each other,
but there are people that love and hate Tiger Woods. Okay.
(06:33):
People don't like him because he's successful. People don't like
him because he comes off as cocky. Some people don't
like him because of his color.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
I mean, let's just be honest, or also the way
he treated his wife.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Well well whatever, Yeah, I mean, but I mean, but
I'm saying I mean, but well, I'm talking on the
golf course. Oh okay, Okay. Pete Weber, on the other hand,
is that cocky brash. You know. But what they've both
done is they both brought eyeballs to their sport. So
(07:05):
you know, the higher payouts in the higher purses in
the golf tournaments are thanks to Tiger Woods. The higher
purses in the p BA or thanks to Pete Webber.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Well, it brings the spotlight, brings the attention, It brings
the eyeballs, brings the money.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Because here's the thing. People will watch love him or
hate him, because they're either going to root for him
or they're going to root against him. That's why they
watch them.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, they want to see what's going to happen, what's
the next thing.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Sure, they're going to do resolutely, they're going to do Yeah,
but I mean, you know, and you know, there's but
I just read that he had like through twenty and eighteen,
Pete webberworld eighty five three hundred games in PBA competition.
That's so not just in a practice round or just
you know, or just in a regular there's like in
a pro am or something. That's These are PBA events,
(07:49):
eighty five of them through twenty eighteen. And that doesn't
count what he's done on the PBA fifty, which is
the like the senior.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Store, Oh fifty, okay, okay, And.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
There's a PBA sixty two. So but yeah, eighty five
three hundred.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Games, he should be interesting.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I mean, I got a bud I got a couple
buddies that have bowled three hundred games, and it's like
they have maybe two, right, you know, three four you know,
depending on how long they've been bowling, maybe five, but
eighty five of them. Yeah, that's that's impressive. Yeah, it's
got to be Buck Porter Buck Buck, because Buck bowls,
and I guarantee he just texted me about bowl.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Oh that's what came through. Okay, that's what came through.
I heard your I heard your phone being So that's
coming up in the eight o'clock hour, and then also
today throughout the show, we're gonna have chances for you
to win. Was it.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yep? It's Bucking Pete Webber at the Firestone Tournament of
Champions PBA Tour in Akronahio, nineteen eighty four.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Oh, I gotta see that picture up close. Buck, get up.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
I'm just gonna say this, Buck Son Tyler looks exactly
like you at that age.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Hey, there's nothing like a good pick from the eighties because.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
It's pretty. You know, there's nothing wild. Everybody's got their
feathered hair, and there's no mullet or anything.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
No, no, all the mullet. So don't get me started
on the mullets. They've made it come back, and God
knows why that would be resurrected from the dead. God
knows why is.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
This in the front party in the back?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Did you have one?
Speaker 3 (09:25):
I had like a mini.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Mullet, a mini mullet.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, like it wasn't it wasn't real long, but it was,
you know, it was. He's probably past my collar.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
It's kind of like you either had the mullet or
you had the rat tail.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
I didn't do the rat tail. No, no, I wanted
to do a rat tail when I was a sophomore
in high school, when I was told I wasn't allowed
to do it.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Oh, Mama, Otis. If there's a picture floating out there
of the mullet, I want to see it.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Oh, somebody has one. I guarantee you one of my
buddies has one. Trust me.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Oh well, I'd love to see it. Seven point sixteen.
You're listening to the bloom Daddy Experience, samon Otis News
Radio eleven seventy WWVA. Seven twenty one. Welcome back the
Blue Daddy Experience. Sam and Otis News Radio, eleven seventy WWVA.
(10:17):
You have a grin on your face, Buck Porter. I
saw your picture. Yeah, so handsome young feller.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Well, he also said a text saying that he has
three three hundred games and his cousin Davy has about
thirty three hundred games. I have a friend of mine
whose name's Kevin. He bowls over in Columbus now, and
he bowled a three hundred game one night, and as
he was leaving the parking lot, you know, you're in
one of them big parking lots, and they've got the
(10:43):
lamp posts on the parking lot and then they're normally
anchored by those big cement either cylinders or cubes. But
he just got done bowled a three hundred game. You know,
he's all pumped up. As he's backing out, he hit
one of those in tours whole quarter panel up and
(11:04):
I said, so much for the celebration on the three
hundred game.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Uh, yeah, that'll do some that'll do some damage.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah well it n Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
That'll definitely do some damage.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
And I still make fun of him before even though
I never saw it. You know, we'll be talking somebody.
It just came up about a month or so ago
to pirate game. I said, yeah, he poled a three
hundred games. Tory's car up afterwards back in out of
the parking space.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Oh that's funny. No, listen, we're the reason we're talking
about bowling. Is we're going to be interviewing a little
bit later on in the show a bowling Bowling Hall
of Famer Hall of Fame bowler.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Yeah, he's actually, he's actually in a handful of hall
of fames. He is in the PBA Hall of Fame,
he's in the USBC Hall of Fame, he is in
the Saint Louis Sports Hall of Fame. And he's got
a star or his name is on the Saint Louis
(12:05):
Walk of Fame or something of that nature.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Well, that's why we're talking. That's that's where you have St.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Louis walka Fame.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
The bowling conversation is coming from you said saying, and
he has a tournament named after him.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Oh, it's the Pete Weber Missouri Classic.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
So in Missouri, not Saint Louis, Saint Louis, Missouri, Saint Louis.
Don't look at me like that.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
You're reading way too much into that.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, well you mentioned mentioned that, so it's kind of
staying along sports. I know how much soccer is your
absolute favorite sport of all time.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Oh, yes it is.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
I don't know if you saw this story. So at
a soccer match in Saint Louis, Saint Louis City. The
there was a there was a fan. They're watching the
game wearing the hat, the red hat, the make America
(13:10):
Great Again hat, you know, the one that brings liberals
to their knees in tears because it just it just
hurts them. It triggers them so much. Well, it was
all on video. This man was asked to take it
off or to leave.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Who asking me to take it off?
Speaker 2 (13:33):
An official, like a stadium.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
So somebody a representative, Yeah, not the three No, no.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
No, no, yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, a stadium representative.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Or okay, security or something, yes, somebody like that.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
So this went on for roughly two minutes, and the
argument was that they don't want any type of political
statements at their sporting event, their their soccer event.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Okay, they make an announcement before the game about that.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I don't know about an announcement.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
You know, is there? You know they have you have
a clear bag policy that they make publicly known.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Well it's it's it's in their in their documents, right,
so where it's posted, I don't know. But one of
the one of the mandates is displaying signs symbols or
images for commercial purposes, for for electioneering, campaigning, or advocating
for or against any candidate, political party, legislative issue, or
(14:33):
government action is not allowed. Okay, fine, But they allow
things like the LGBTQ plus blah blah blah flag, they
allow the trans flag, and they've waive it. So to me,
(14:57):
they're sort of talking out both sides of their mouth
because those are political issues, I think cultural political issues.
I don't know, but they're polarizing, debatable issues that people
have very specific views upon. Maybe I'm reading too much
(15:25):
into this, probably I don't know, but I think it's
a bit again, I think it's a bit hypocritical that
if you can't campaign or you can't wear something that
is a political statement or a campaign issue, those are
campaign issues that the left stand upon and have forced
(15:55):
upon us. So if this guy can't wear a hat,
how is it in the same arena these political statements
can't be waived. I don't know. I don't know. It
just amazes me that we live in a day and
(16:15):
time where something like this triggers people to the point
where they're offended by it and they can't have it.
Sitting next to them. I mean, I saw a video
on social media of this woman on an airplane who
lost her mind because the guy she was sitting next
to had on a maga hat. He didn't say a
(16:37):
word to her. He didn't say one word to that woman.
She was in tears. Now she got escorted off the
plane because she would not calm down. But people need
to relax, absolutely need to relax and think it gives
themselves heart attacks at this point.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Coming up later, we got your chance to win rafter
am Rodio tickets.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yep, we're going to be doing that, and of course
we've got our free lunch, so plenty happening this morning,
seven twenty eight The bloom Daddy Experience, salmon Otis News Radio,
eleven seventy WWVA. We are back at seven thirty six
(17:25):
The bloom Daddy Experience, samon Otis News Radio, eleven seventy WWVA.
A little bit of housekeeping. Wanted to let everybody know
we've received some messages about picking us up signal issues,
so I wanted to let everybody know, after speaking to
some folks that we have a piece of equipment that's
(17:46):
being worked on at at our site where the towers
are so if you are experiencing.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
And you can't hear us, that's why, that's why. Yeah, yeah,
if you can't hear us this wait, we.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Currently have a week signal, let's put it that way.
But we do appreciate those that have reached out socials.
We just don't come with all of the the side effects.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Well I think I think we need hymn.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Yes, yes we have. We have a weak signal.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Well, one of our primos is something about he's got
the biggest signal on the blog. Well guess what that
was a myth?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, yeah, So but here's the thing. If you can't
if you're having issues with traditional radio. Of course, we
are on the iHeart happ Live, so you can stream
us through your phone, through your laptop however you want
to do it, or if you miss the show, you
can go back and listen to the podcast. So listen.
I apologize, We apologize, but you know, that's technology. Sometimes
(18:46):
it's your friend, sometimes it's your enemy. But that is
being worked on. So for again, for those who reached
out to let us know that there were they weren't
picking us up as well as they usually do. That
is what is going on. So hopefully within the next
couple days that will be rectified and we will be
back strong with a big signal strength. Yes, I hear
(19:12):
that goes back in there.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
I inherited it from the dog.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah. A couple local stories. Law enforcement agencies throughout the
Ohio Valley are preparing for National Night Out. Events will
take place this evening to help empower communities and provide
resources to families. It's completely free of charge. You can
find an event in your area online that is happening
(19:39):
throughout the Ohio Valley and then statewide. In West Virginia,
federal officials approve the request to ban SNAP recipients from
buying sugary drinks. Governor Patrick Morrissey says taxpayers should not
subsidize soda and energy drinks that have no nutritional value.
The waiver re moves regular soda, diet soda, and zero
(20:02):
calorie sodas from eligible purchases. West Virginia joins Nebraska as
one of the first states to restrict sugary drink purchases
under the Food Assistance Program. I there have been times
maybe I'm alone in this, Hopefully I'm not, and I
(20:24):
don't want to sound mean. There have been times where
I have been behind people in the grocery store, and
it's so frustrating because I am buying off brand, the
cheapest version. I've got my coupons, coupons there. I fixed it.
(20:47):
I see you laughing in there. I've clipped my coupons.
You know, I've done everything I can to save a
buck yet still buy decent food. And the person in
front of me has an entire, entire cart full of
steaks and beer and name brand cereal and things like,
(21:12):
you know, name brand, little debbie boxes of that kind
of stuff. They've got cases and cases of pop name brand,
not the cheap o stuff, name brand, Like I said,
they've got steaks, They've got you know, all this kind
of stuff. I'm thinking, man, that's a haul. You got
some dollars tied up in there. Nope, they whip out
some sort of government assistance whatever. It's so frustrating. It's
(21:37):
so frustrating. Sometimes it's like I work every day and
I'm the one being frugal, trying to make sure you
save a dollar. Don't let the grocery bill get out
of hand. Clip the coupons. Buy the cheaper versions, the
(22:00):
knockoff versions, the generic versions, whatever terminology you want to use,
there's somebody. Yeah, government pays for it.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Yeah, but you don't skimp on toilet paper, baby.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
No, that's the one thing you do not I've done
that before. Do not skimp on the toilet paper. Don't
skip on the toilet paper or the UH or the mayo.
Don't buy cheap mayo. That's kind of gross. And then also,
I don't know if you heard me talk last week
about shrimp Daddy. That's nickname I gave him, shrimp Daddy.
This is the gentleman who was recorded at TJ Max
(22:30):
at the Highlands with uh, Willy he freed Willy, will
leave it. Then, yeah, he freed Willie as he was
talking to a woman. Well, now he has. It has
come out that he has been at five different parts
of the area, So from Cambridge to Saint Clairsville to
(22:55):
the Highlands, to Washington County, PA, then to Granville, West Virginia.
So this guy has been on a trek across the
Ohio Valley thinking that, you know, we want to see
(23:18):
what he's packing or not or lack thereof. Hence the
nickname shrimp Daddy. And again I'm going to give credit
where credit is due. Whoever edited the pictures used a
shrimp emoji to cover mister little man five different locations
(23:39):
he drove around all this. Okay, So there are a
picture circulating out on social media and a description has
been released along with those pictures. Roughly six foot two,
two hundred and twenty pounds wearing a ball cap, sunglasses,
in an N ninety five mask. So if you see
this guy, they are saying to alert anybody, make a
(24:03):
scene and draw attention so that he can be kind
of kept within the store on the store premises. So
be diligent, pay attention because shrimp Daddy is making his
making his rounds. I don't get it, otis, I don't
get what that what that does for somebody who does that? Flashers?
(24:27):
Is that a flasher? I guess that's a flasher?
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Is something I mean, I guess somewhere somebody that likes
public exhibition.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, I don't know. Not not something that everybody wants
to see, even though they seem to think think that
you do, you don't. Maybe these guys can help, so ABC,
the TV network, maybe they can bring these kids to
(25:00):
to the High Valley catch this guy. They're developing a
new drama TV show titled Killer Class Now. This is
based on the true story of a high school forensics
club that solved real cold cases. The show is inspired
by an article written by Keith Sharon of The Tennesseean,
(25:21):
which detailed the unexpected formation and success of a club
at Elizabethtown High School. The official logline states that the
series tracks the unexpected formation of a high school forensics
club that proves shockingly effective in solving real cold cases.
Now it's being described as they as the breakfast club
(25:43):
meets true crime. Sounds interesting. Maybe they can catch uh,
maybe they can catch shrimp Daddy. I don't know, I
don't know. That would be uh, that would be an
interesting one. That would be an interesting one. But we're
going to have We're gonna have your chance to win
again coming up. We've got a family four pack to
(26:05):
rafter m rodeo that's coming up. And then just a
reminder lunch. We're gonna be drawing our winner tomorrow for
free lunch delivered on Friday, all thanks to our friends
at River City. All you have to do is email
Sam at iHeartMedia dot com, name phone number and company,
or you can text us seven zero four seven zero.
(26:27):
Start the message off with bloom Daddy and same information name,
phone number, and company. So that's all we need from you.
Coming up next college football chill in the air starting
to I hate to say it, but there's little hints
that it's coming, folks, football season. But one game ticket
(26:48):
prices are obnoxious. They are crazy. We're gonna talk about that.
Seven forty five The Bloomdaddy Experience samon Otis News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA. So fifty one, welcome back to the
(27:10):
Blue Daddy Experienced, samon Otis News Radio eleven seventy w
w VA. So getting in the car this morning, little
little brisk was it brisk in the jeep this morning?
It was all right? It was.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
It was brisker yesterday.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Brisker Is that work?
Speaker 3 (27:25):
No, maybe's more brisk but it was brisk hit yesterday.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
But it's starting to sort of, you know, have that
feel right went, I forget where I went this weekend
and they had Thanksgiving stuff out. So listen, folks, get
ready to Halloween yet we haven't even made it the
Labor Day, but be prepared because the pumpkin spiced everything.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Oh. I saw the advertisement for Starbucks oh did you.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah, yeah, it's coming.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Mind posted it on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
It's kind of like it's liked here, it comes here,
it comes, pump can spice everything. Well, along with that
comes football. So I'm a High a State fan. My husband,
die hard, die hard High State fan, loves college football.
He had compared to pros. He absolutely loves college football.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
So I appreciate your husband. He's got since compared to you.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Okay, wow, all right. Anyways, so coming up August thirtieth
is a huge, huge game to kick off college football season.
Number one ranked Texas is taking on number ranked, number
two ranked Ohio State. Okay, this is the first time
(28:44):
ever that a number one and number two are season openers.
Is a season opener, this is huge. This is a
huge first week matchup.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Huge.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
My neighborhood is already making plans about watching this game.
Here's where I'm gonna call a High State out. The
prices of tickets are absolutely ridiculous. So for one ticket,
(29:19):
one not a pair, one ticket to be in section
sixteen C, which is I guess you would say midway
up the bowl. Okay, so it's not not right on
ground level, right in the field, but it's also not
the nosebleed. So it's kind of right smack in the middle.
(29:41):
For one ticket, five thou seven hundred and ninety eight dollars,
somebody it'll pay it five thousand, seven hundred and ninety
eight dollars. Now that's not counting the taxes. That's not
counting the what is it ticket master fees and all
(30:02):
of that other.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
I mean, is it that's a resale ticket, so you
have to pay that fee too?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Probably? Yeah, Yeah, that's insanity. That's absolute insanity.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
I'll watch it on TV.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
I will happily watch it on TV on the comfort
of my count So.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
We're talking about your college football. So what's you three, four, five, six.
Looks like six teams from the Big ten are currently
ranked in the preseason top twenty five.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Okay, as he counseled these and gentlemen, I'm not sure
what he's.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Counting nine teams from the SEC. Okay, So there's fifteen
at the top twenty five right there. Big twelve is
next with two.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
You're looking at the just released coaches poll that came out,
it just.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Says preseason, yeah, preseason coaches five from the Big twelve,
So that leaves five other teams in there. You have
Notre Dame is the other one, Clemson in Miami from
the ACC and SMU SMUs from the ACC now too,
and then Boise State, so three teams from the ACC,
(31:29):
so one independent. And I think is Boise State now
in the Pac ten or Pac twelve or whatever they
call it because they're trying to revive that.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I don't know. They changed it around so often.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Well, I mean, you got Oregon in the Big ten,
which makes about as much sense as Temple being in
the Big ten. I mean Rutgers, you know, you know,
because nothing says nothing says Midwest football like Oregon, U C,
l A and Southern Cow.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Well, would they have Penn State to number three? Yeah,
I don't know where that came from. That seems a
bit of a stretch to me. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
I would think it's probably based on how many people
they have returning, and you know, yeah, there's a bunch
of things that come into play. Yeah, either transfers were.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Yeah, but Penn State always chokes. They just seem to
always choke. Michigan dropped, Alabama dropped.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Yeah. You know what this means absolutely.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Nothing, absolutely nothing, absolutely because.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I'm going to tell you about week ten or week eight,
some of these teams will be go long gone.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Yoh yeah. Well, like, okay, take South Carolina. Where did
that come from?
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Again? Well, you got Iowa, I mean Illinois in there.
I mean Illinois and Indiana Like they're real powerhouse football programs.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
There's just a couple of them that were just like, okay,
that's kind of a head scratcher.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
But no, Well, and you have that many teams from
the Big ten and the SEC and the Big twelve
in there, Eventually somebody's gonna knock one of them out. Yeah,
I mean, because they're gonna they gotta play each other. Yeah,
so you know you got a highest state, penn state,
blah blah blah, they play Illinois. Well, if Illinois's got
three losses, you think they're staying in the top twenty five?
Probably not right?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
No, And back to the ticket costs, just real quick, Listen,
I love football, I absolutely love football. That would pay
off my credit card bill and then some that would.
I mean, I'm not selling an organ to be able
to go see a football game.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
You're not allowed to sell in the organ anyway.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
I'm being sarcastic. It's just that kind of stuff that
it's just no wonder the money that is flying around
college sports when the ticket prices are that high. That's
just a little bit out of control, out of control.
But we have something. We have tickets for you.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Yep, we're doing them right now.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yep. Okay, And they're not five thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
No, they're free.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
They're free. And there's four of them one sixty two
four eleven seventy for a family of four pack. Family
four pack to rafter m Rodeo coming up at the
end of this month, which by the way, is an
absolute blast. One eight hundred sixty two four eleven seventy.
Let's do call her number ten, nice even number, caller
number ten seven fifty eight. We'll be back.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This is
the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host bloom Daddy, his goal inform,
entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy Experience on
News Radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Welcome back to bloo Daddy Experience. Samon Otis News and
News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. That was didn't come out right.
It's eight.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
It's Mushmouth.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
It's eight oh six on your Tuesday, Albert. Yeah, Harry,
that's pretty good. That's pretty good. Wanted to do a
follow up a little bit on the situation at East
Ohio Regional Hospital. Yes, we're going back to that, ladies
(35:21):
and gentlemen. So last week, had a wonderful conversation with
somebody close to the uh situation there and wanted to
update some folks on some things. A couple of weeks ago,
I brought this to you first, where as of that
point in time, there was no payments made from the
(35:45):
new owner, Harold Ramsey in regards to the back taxes.
I'm now going to let you know now as of today,
there is still no payments according to my sources in
regards to the back taxes. Also along with that, according
to my sources, there is still no paperwork filed with
(36:11):
the county in regards to purchase of the property. Okay,
I'm going to reiterate that there is no paperwork filed
with the appropriate offices about the purchase of this property.
Any type of deeds, any type, any type of paperwork
has not been filed with the county. I've had multiple
(36:36):
people reach out to me with many different statements. I
am working to verify some of these different statements. One
thing I will say though, is the property is in foreclosure.
It has been in foreclosure because it was filed on
May roughly May fifth. The foreclosure proceedings were filed against
(37:01):
the property. That will continue to go on. That train
will not stop. That train will not stop. Those proceedings
will continue to go. Now, the appraised value, according to
my research, is there's nine parcels that are involved with
(37:24):
this hospital. The appraised value is sixteen million, four hundred
and sixty six thousand, seven hundred and ninety five dollars.
That was as of last week. That is the appraised
value of that property. The total do in taxes and
the fees that are associated with the foreclosure, all of
(37:45):
that that goes into that one point one million, six
hundred and thirty eight thousand, seven hundred and eleven dollars
in sixteen cents. We are throwing around very large dollars
right now. Now. Now, when I brought this to you
a couple weeks ago, with the update about the fact
that there is no paperwork filed in Belmont County about
(38:10):
the purchase. Along with that, I talked about the collections
that are going on, and they continue to go on.
People are getting called and are being asked to pay
bills when asked for proof of services. The people that
(38:30):
I have spoken to, the sources that have reached out
to me, say they are not being provided with proof
of services. And some of these services are dating back
to like twenty twenty two, and thousands of dollars are
being asked to be paid for these back quote unquote invoices.
(38:56):
I've talked to multiple people and they have said, do
not pay. To not pay those invoices without proof, do
not pay. That's what multiple people have told me. This
story it ebbs and flows. And what I mean by
that is there will be a week where it's just
(39:19):
information overload about this story, and then it gets very
very quiet, and then it picks up again. But I
think the most telling thing is the fact that there
is no documentation filed as of yet. And this is
not a joke. And I was talking to some people
(39:40):
just regular conversation, and you know, it's almost because this
has gone on for so long that a lot of
it people are beginning to get numb to this story.
They're getting numb to the conversation about it. We can't
let that happen. We can't because this affects This story
(40:03):
has many tentacles. This not only affects Martin's Ferry, It
affects the healthcare of the Ohio Valley. It also affects
the school system of Martin's Ferry because of the taxes
in the surrounding area. So even though, like I said,
some people are starting to get a little numb to
(40:25):
this story, we can't let that happen. We have to
continue to talk about it. I have to continue to
bring you this information because it's very very relevant, very relevant,
And all you have to do is take a step
back and think, what was it Back in June? The
big announcement was made. End of June, middle of June,
(40:46):
big announcement made Harold Ramsey. Nobody ever heard of Buy's
the hospital. Huge announcement. Huge, Everybody is all excited. I
haven't heard from him since, have word from him since.
Now there's a Facebook page out there, and I believe
I brought this up where you know, they're sharing all
(41:09):
of these complimentary stories done by other media outlets. Oh,
thank you for the positive story, thank you for this,
Thank you for that. Well, yeah, of course, of course
you're going to thank him for that. So not asking
any of the hard questions, who is this guy come
in and collect money off of people? And when you
(41:31):
ask where the money's going, being told to pay for
the hospital. So Harold Ramsey can buy the hospital? Wait
a second, wait, wait, wait, wait, so he can buy
the hospital? Thought he already did, thought he already did.
Not that he can, it will help him buy it.
(41:54):
So what is it? That's my question? What is it?
So if if you're being told by somebody who's calling
to collect money off of you, and you ask where
the money is going, and you're told it's to help
this guy buy the hospital, and then you say, wait
a second, it's already been announced that he bought the hospital,
(42:15):
and you ask that question in the person's tongue tied,
what's actually going on? What is actually going on? That
is the big question. And when somebody can't answer that
question and they're saying that it's helping them buy the
hospital and there's no documentation filed at the county that
the hospital has actually been bought, it's been plenty of time.
(42:39):
We're now a month and a half past the big
announcement that the hospital was bought. Why has this documentation
not been filed? Why the foreclosure process is continuing and
it is going to continue now. The pr people with
East Ohio is out there, as I said on Facebook,
(43:00):
sharing all of these positive stories saying that every person
that they've contacted to come back to work is going
to come back there to work. That's not true. That's
not true. I've spoken to multiple former employees and they
will not go back. And one of the biggest reasons
they will not go back is if Julie Ross is
still involved. Well, guess what, She's still involved, So guess what.
(43:22):
They're not going to go back. There's a lot of
questions circling this story. One point that was brought up
to me from a very good source, why by the
hospital now? Why buy it now? For a certain set
amount We're talking millions? Why not wait? If you're an investor,
(43:49):
why not wait until the foreclosure sale when you're probably
going to get the property for a smaller amount. So,
if you're a business savvy investor, you'r money minded, that's
the way your mind thinks. Why do it now? Why
not wait to the foreclosure sale? And you can probably
(44:12):
more than likely get a better price. Why And my
biggest question is how connected is mister Ramsey to former
owner doctor Johnson. A lot of people have that question.
He denies it. I have my theories. I have my theories.
(44:34):
It's eight sixteen. You're listening to the bloom Daddy Experience.
Samon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA Welcome back eight
twenty one. The bloom Daddy Experience salmon Otis News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA otis what a what a morning? You know,
(45:01):
it gets the East Ohio stuff. Listen. Like I said,
it ebbs and flows. It keeps going. I keep getting,
you know, different information, and as I said, as I'm
able to confirm things, I of course will definitely bring
it to you. It's so frustrating though, a lot of
(45:23):
the stuff that you know, people reach out to me with.
You know, these people that want their jobs back, they
want to work, they want to get their money they're
owed from the prior owner that you know, they didn't
get their paychecks for how many times you know that
differs between the different people, how many times their paychecks
(45:44):
were missed. It's so hard to hear those stories. I
don't understand the mentality of people who can do something
like that to other people. That's what blows my mind.
And the fact that this man, doctor Johnson, seems to
(46:08):
have just disappeared, rode off into the sunset blows my mind.
Here's a ten million dollar grant from the state of Ohio,
and I've made phone calls to different offices throughout the
state about this situation, and I'm still waiting to hear back,
and I keep calling. You know, is the state not
(46:31):
mad about ten million dollars that was given to this
man in this grant? Why are there no files charges
charged against him? Why is there no action happening against
this man? That's what is.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
I've seen this happen multiple times. So when it comes
to people owing taxes, and I'm not gonna say who
it was, but there was a business here in Wheeling
that the person owed so much back taxes. Okay, so
if you if you don't have in my other job,
(47:09):
if you don't have a letter of good standing from
the state tax department, you're not going to get your
alcohol license. So he would not get his letter of
good standing because he owed so much. They owed so
much in taxes. So what he would do is the
first year he says, hey, I didn't realize blah blah blah.
Can I set up a payment plan? They said, okay,
you pay this much to us now, and then you
pay you know, this much per month plus whatever you
(47:32):
owe for the next year. Well, then guess what happened?
He paid, He paid the initial one and never maybe
made a couple more payments, but then let it go again.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
That's what's happened here.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
Yeah, And so then the next year when it comes
for the renewal and his like his letter of a
good standing comes back bad. He's in the tax department
says okay, well we'll work with you. You could you
pay us this amount and then what you can do
a payment plan? So again, like they got burnt three
or four times doing the same thing, Like after the
first or second time, when don't you learn your lesson
and say no, you're not getting it until you pay
(48:03):
it in full.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
Right, yeah, yeah, but that's the taxes. I'm also talking
about the people that are owed money.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Well, I mean it's the same situation, right.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
But where is where is the departments in the state
of Ohio that are fighting for these employees. Where is
the the Attorney General's office to go after this guy?
That's that is one of the things in this entire
scenario that is that is shocking to me. As I said,
(48:32):
the state when opening this hospital under Johnson or reopening
at that point in time, you know, invested money into
this hospital. Is that money not matter? Do they not
want it back? That?
Speaker 3 (48:47):
It just.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
It shocks me, It shocks me. Or is it the
fact that this is the small Ohio valley. We're not
in Columbus, We're not in Cincinnati. Its own a certain
amount of people that have been affected, it's not a
large enough group of people that have been affected by
this that they that they care about that they really
(49:12):
don't care. It's such a small amount and it's not
worth it.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
I just think I think some of it is that
they just there's so many out there that they just.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
Can't keep up.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
They can't keep up.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
That's a sad statement. That's a really really sad statement,
really sad statement. It's just you know, they're they're I
don't know, maybe I'll stop, I'll stop. It infuriates me,
It absolutely infuriates me. And the other side of this
that infuriates me, and I've said this before, is the
fact that other people are not talking about it. They're
(49:42):
not talking about it, and they're not questioning. They're not questioning.
And I said, I told you when I first started
talking about the new owner, all I did was Google.
All I did was Google who this man was. It's
not all about fluff pieces, ladies and gentlemen. It's not
all about opening your arms and welcoming somebody into our community.
(50:06):
We have to check out who these people are when
they come in with huge promises and big words and
big fancy descriptions and big numbers and big amounts. It
is up to us to ask the right questions, and
people don't and never have, and that's how we keep
(50:28):
getting taken advantage of. People don't ask the right questions
because when it comes down to it, it's about the
advertising dollar. They want the dollar. They don't want a
ruffle feathers. They don't want to make waves because when
they open their doors in the fall, which by the way, yeah,
that's probably not going to happen. I would not bet
(50:53):
anything on the fact that it's going to open in
the fall, as the big promises have been made. Powers
not back on yet according to my sources. So you know,
hospital needs power, but it's about the dollar. People want
the advertising dollar. So let's not let's not ask, let's
(51:13):
not ruffle feathers, let's not.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
There's nothing to advertise at this point.
Speaker 2 (51:17):
Thank you, thank you?
Speaker 3 (51:21):
Here are you? Are you advertising and empty building?
Speaker 2 (51:26):
But here's an alternative, maybe kind of staying along the
healthcare conversation, there's a new study that finds that teens
are getting their medical advice from TikTok. They might actually
find more advice there than they would at us to
(51:46):
hire a regional hospital. Currently, I would advise against and
I am not a medical professional.
Speaker 3 (51:53):
And you did not stay a holiday and express last night.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
No I did not. I would very much steer clear
of getting your medical advice off of TikTok's. That seems
to be one of the newest trend. On average, forty
five percent of medical advice on TikTok. Guess what is false?
Surprise Surprise eight twenty eight. You're listening to the Bloomdaddy Experience,
(52:17):
samon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA Welcome Back, eight
thirty six. The bloom Daddy Experience. Samon Otis News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA. All right, otis, We're going to see
if we can bowl a strike with this interview.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Here we go. We got PBA Hall of Famer Pete Weber,
I mean bowling legend, joining us live from Morgantown.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Good morning, Pete, Good morning guys. How you doing today?
Speaker 3 (52:49):
Oh? Hanging in there.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
You're a professional bowler. But the first thing you said
to me, I said, Hey, is there anything you want
to hit on? You said, I played golf yesterday. So
what people don't know is you're like a scratch golfer, right.
Speaker 4 (53:02):
I used to be. I'm not anymore. I haven't been
a member at my club for probably about ten years now.
But back in the day, I was a pretty good golfer.
I was scratched, but I don't get to play that
much anymore. So it's it wasn't pretty yesterday.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
Well you're probably not used to all the hills, because
I mean a lot of the courses that those guys
play are pretty flat.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
Yeah, that was very hilly yesterday. It played a lot
longer than the card said. You know, we only played
like fifty seven hundred yards, but it played like seven thousand.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
Yeah, there you go. And how many holes in one
do you have?
Speaker 4 (53:42):
I have eleven holes in one.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
Wow. Have you ever considered have you ever considered joining
the Senior Tour on the pgaight like as a just
this try at one time?
Speaker 4 (53:54):
No, I haven't, just the same reason. They would probably
never come bowld with us because they know they just
can't do it.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
Well, it sounds like at one point in time you
probably could have at least like maybe in a like
is a sponsor's exemption or something, just to give it
a shot. I mean, I remember, Oh.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
I would have loved to, but you know that I
don't know. I think I would have been too nervous
to do that. Simple to my right would have been
in trouble.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
So to tell us why you're actually in Morgantown and
in West Virginia you're bowling in a program down there?
Speaker 4 (54:31):
Correct, Well, there's a we have our final tournament of
the year. It's the TVA Johnny Petradlia TBA fifty Tournament
of Champions. So it's the practice session starts today at
eleven thirty. There's another one I think around three, and
(54:52):
then the program tonight around six thirty, which I'm not
in the program, but there is a star studded field
for the for the pro amps to Night like Chris
Barnes and John Jankowitz, the rating PB eight fifty Player
of the Year. He's won three times this year. I
(55:15):
believe Tom hoss is bowling, So they have a star
studed field for the for the pro.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
Am to Knighte and Jerry Lorenz who runs the suburban
lanes there in Morgantown. He just got inducted into the
West Virginia Bowling Hall of Fame. He's the one to
put all this together.
Speaker 4 (55:29):
Correct, Yes he did, And congratulations Jerry on the induction
into the Hall of Fame. But he's This is a
third year, third year that Jerry's had the tournament and
we're just looking forward to it now. It's been a
little hot the last couple of years we've been here,
and now it's really nice because we brought the weather
(55:51):
with it.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
So you know, there's there's some people out there, you
know you've are. Do you consider yourself controversial?
Speaker 4 (56:01):
Well, of course I do. I mean, you know, I
love to make oh headline. Yeah, you know, I just
like to do things differently. You know, I don't think
there's enough bullers in the in the TVA to make
the bowling excitement or exciting to watch, because if I'm
(56:23):
not on the TV, then I'm not watching it.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Right. Well, I kind of made a comparison we were talking,
you know, when we were promoting the interview a little
bit earlier. I made the comparison that like you and
Tiger Woods are kind of like in a similar situation.
Whereas in your respective sports, you bring the eyeballs to
the sports.
Speaker 4 (56:46):
Well, yes, we do, and that's the way I feel
it should be, you know, but I wish there were
more players that would do it, that would show a
little more emotion, get a little more excited when they throw,
get a lucky break or something like that. But I
know that when I'm in the pro ams, the pro
ams grow a little bit because people want to come
(57:08):
in and see But with the other guys too, now there,
they have a lot of fans that people want to
come in and see them too. So it's really not
just me. It's a few guys out there that draw
the people in.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
Well, and I think you know, I mean I remember,
and I'm sure you do too, because you know, we're
about the same age or maybe you're close. But anyway,
bowling at one point in time when I was young,
was only on like ABC's Wide World of Sports with
Chris Shankle calling the you know, the play by play,
and now bowling's basically it's you know, it's available everywhere
(57:43):
with all the sports networks that are out there.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Well, yeah, they definitely got the sports networks out there
that are covering bowling. Now we had Fox Sports. Now
we're going to be on CW, so you know, it's
not like that we're not being covered. But like you said,
back in the day, everybody knew at two thirty that
(58:06):
the PBA Tour was going to be on Saturday afternoon,
no questions asked. It proceeded the White Gold of Sports,
so everybody knew what time. The thing nowadays is that
we never really know what time we're going to be
on TV until you know, maybe that week, so it's
(58:28):
kind of hard for people to figure out where people
are going to be watching.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
And Pete, we have a listener question, right, So this
comes from Wade. It says, if there's any true revelations
about professional bowling? Is are there any true revelations about
professional bowling world? In the movie Kingpin.
Speaker 4 (58:55):
About the only thing I can say about that is
the format that they were doing, like the match play
they were showing during the competence during the movie. That's
about the only thing that was real.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
Is that your favorite bowling movie.
Speaker 4 (59:10):
I haven't seen a whole lot of bowling movies that
do bowling.
Speaker 3 (59:13):
Justice, but it's going to be close to the top
of the list.
Speaker 4 (59:19):
Oh it is. I enjoy it. You know, it's a
good comedy to watch. It shows some of the professional
bowlers in there. Until you know, it's not like we
don't get our recognitions when we needed.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Sure sure, you know you you obviously your dad was
a big time bowler and Hall of Famer and everything else.
And you broke into the PBA at a young age
I believe seventeen.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
Correct, Yes, it was graduated from high school and I
still had a year before I was going to turn eighteen.
And dad went to the tournament committee and ask, you know,
they call it the Pete Webber rule. Now, but if
you're graduated early, why can't you join the PBA. So
(01:00:05):
now it's just graduated from high school. You don't have
to be eighteen and graduated. And as far as I know,
Norm Duke took advantage of that, and there was somebody
else I know, I think Anthony Simonson took advantage of that.
But you know, if you graduate school early, why should
you have to wait a year to do what you
(01:00:27):
love to do.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
I don't disagree with you, because if you can join
the workforce in any other job, why can't you bowl?
Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
You know exactly?
Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
You know so uh, you know, obviously you got the
bowl with your dad and against your dad. I mean,
what was that like?
Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Oh? It was fun, especially in the early years. You know,
you'd walk into a bowling center with your dad and
everybody just flocked around him, and you know, I'm standing
there going, oh, twiddling my thumb. But as the years
go on, you know, I learned I've met the people
that Dad knew, and you know I could go ask
(01:01:05):
for a few perks here and there and or asked
the restaurant. Or actually I would call Dad on the
phone and say, hey, Dad, I'm here. Where the restaurant?
He dad, and he telled me a restaurant and then
he probably tell me the theater d name, so I
wouldn't have to wait in line.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
Well, it's always it's always fun when you are definitely
on the TV, and you know you you bring excitement
to the sport, let's put it that way, and it's
always a pleasure to watch you.
Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
Well, I I love being on TV. If anybody really
watched my dad when he was on TV, he was
a ham he was He ran him out, he smacked
his hands, he punches it, you know, throw his fists around,
you know. So I got a little bit from dad,
but everything else that I do on TV is probably
(01:01:57):
a Wwe say.
Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Well, that's beautiful. Well, we're going to wish you the
best of luck. And obviously you know we're where we are.
We're about an hour from Morgantown, so you know, I mean,
people have time to get there today to check everything out.
And truly appreciate you joining us and wishing you the
best of luck in the tournament.
Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Alright, thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
All right, thank you, all right, bye bye. That's Pete Webber.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
He's got some really Hall of Famer sharp shades. That's
what I picked up on the videos.
Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
Oh yeah, he definitely he's got it. He's got it going.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Eight forty six, we'll be back. Welcome back, eight fifty
The blim Daddy experience, Sam and otis I'm trying.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
I'm trying to fade nagas an autographed bowling pin.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
That would look cool sitting here.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
Yeah, but I think it's gonna have my name on it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
That's fine. No, you did the interview.
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
You ad a little bit in there.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Well, listen, I tried, I'm not well.
Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
But bowling, you said before, even when I said something
to you yesterday or the other day about getting Pete
Weber on, you were like, You're gonna have to do
the interview. I don't know anything about bowling.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Hey, we each have we each have our forteste. Yes, yes, bowling,
Like I said, I know the turkey and strikes and
well we were.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Talking about Kingpin but he laughed. But here's a little
interesting fact. There's a there's a scene in The Final
Showdown where Bill Murray's character Big Ern bowls three strikes
in a row, which is a turkey. There you go.
Bill Murray actually did bowl those three consecutive strikes during
(01:03:47):
the filming of the scene. It wasn't a stunt, double
wasn't It wasn't like camera you know, where they shave
the ball going down and then it wasn't a film
Strike you know, yeah, wasn't edited. Bill Murray bowled three strikes, Sycenroo.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
He had the really bad como.
Speaker 3 (01:04:02):
Yeah, that was That's what makes the movie. That and
the fact that while while the while the tournament's going on,
Eyello's Showdown is playing Electric glad Orchestras Showdowns playing, and
the you know, that's the song that's going on. And
it's just like anytime I hear Yellow Showdown, all I
(01:04:22):
can think of is Kingpin.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
And then he said something about it's like one of
the best bowling movies out there, and there's like two.
I'm sitting on what other bowling movies are there? I
even googled it. I googled bowling movies. Wait a second, ig,
how many popped up? Like four?
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Okay, well wait.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Let's see here. Bowling movies. Kingpin, there's one called The
Gutter came out in twenty twenty four. There is Ali
Katz Strike. It's a kid's movie. Okay, one called Jesus Rolls,
and then Grease too. It's like set in a bowl,
(01:05:00):
it's not about bowlers themselves. Well, the Big Lebowski is
that a bowling movie?
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
There's bowling? Yeah, I wouldn't consider it a bowling movie.
Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Yeah, so that that kind of rounds out the list
of bowling movies. But he said that. I was like,
how many are there? Actually not that many, not that
you know what today is Tuesday?
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
That is Tuesday, August fifth.
Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
Hopefully, as your mother said, always wear nice ones because
you never know when you'll be in an accident. Clean ones.
It's a National underwear Day.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Nice Maybe I don't have any on.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
I apologize to everybody out there that just had a vision.
I am so very.
Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
Playing free bird right now. Oh no, no, I have
to wear some sort of draws, draws, draws. Normally it's
boxers unless I'm going to the gym or going to
a workout, then I wear.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Compression sor because you.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Got to keep the boys happy.
Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
We don't want what pendulum issues.
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
Yeah, exactly upfront.
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Yeah, oh shoot, I.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
Wonder if you're bold, do you need compression shorts to
keep it from pendulum. There's a lot of kohalaking going
on there.
Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
Stop. The average person owns roughly twenty pairs of drawers.
I have more than that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
I don't think I do.
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
No, I do I have more.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
I think I have about.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Twelve, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Maybe fifteen.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Oh no, I got more than that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
I mean, like, because I mean I do my laundry
a couple times a week, so I mean it's just
like and then the elastic wears out of them, and
then those are the ones you pitch you.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Oh, don't get me started on men's underwear, honest to god.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
So listen, if you go on this is what I
was told by a travel agent when you go on vacation,
So like your underwear, your socks, you if you wear
like a T shirt, yeah, whatever, what they told me,
just pack enough for your trip. And what you do
is you pack all your old craps. So in other words,
like if you have a sock that you want to
throw out because it's got a little hole in it,
now you take it with you. And then what you
(01:07:18):
do is when you wear them, since you're done, you
throw them away. Then you don't have to worry about digitum.
Same thing with your underwear, same thing with a T
shirt or whatever. Maybe your bra because you're a chick
and last yeah, so and then what you do is
that frees up space in your suitcase for when you return,
and you can throw your little knickknacks in or your souvenirs,
(01:07:39):
or if you bought T shirts or whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
Interesting. Interesting, that's not a bad that's a good idea.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
I think I'm gonna test that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
You're gonna test that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
No, there have been times where I have done laundry
and put out the hobbies underwear and thought, what are
the point of these? What is the point? The holes
stretched out the waistband might as well, I mean, be
non existent holes in places where you think as a female,
(01:08:09):
if you have a hole there in a man's pair
of underwear, they're not actually holding anything in place. And
I pitch them and they are dugout.
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
It's because they're comfortable.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
It's exactly what he says. No, those are my most
comfortable pair. It's literally a strip of material. I don't know,
I don't know, but it's National Underwear Day. Also today
in history. In nineteen fifty seven, what show debuted on
ABC nineteen fifty seven, nineteen fifty seven.
Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
ABC American Bandstand?
Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Yes, you are correct, Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
And I didn't see that one either. No.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
And then in nineteen seventy four, jone Jet formed The Runaways.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, I knew that was an
easy one. Who else was in that group? Lead Aford?
I don't know that you know whose birthday it is today?
If you really want to feel old, I was going
to save this for Kevin, but unfortunately Kevin didn't join
us this morning. Sixty nine years.
Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
Old, sixty nine, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Marcia Marsha and Marcia Marcia Brady Maureen McCormick is sixty
nine years old today. Wow, I do that makes me
feel old?
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Yeah? Yeah, that's one of that kind of hits. Although
I watched Brady bunch.
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Of reruns, but they're not live anymore. So when I
was a kid, you know, everybody watched Brady Bunch ree runs.
Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
Man sixty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Sixty that means that means Barry Williams has to be
in his seventies. Greg, he was.
Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
Always creepy, even as an adult, He's creepy. There's something
is just creepy. And have you ever heard seen an
interview with him when he talks about Carol.
Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Yeah, they went to dinner or something.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
I don't know, but the way he says it, the
way he talks about her, I just kind of no, no, no, no,
just doesn't just doesn't do.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
We're going to give radio tickets away, Yes we do.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
We have one more set for today.
Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
We have two sets, yeah we do.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
But we're just just.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
I'm just saying, you got If you don't win today,
you got other chances.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Yeah you do, you do.
Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
I mean, I'm just that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Okay, one eight hundred six to four eleven seventy. I
did the number last time? You did, the number sixty
