Speaker 1 (00:01):
Indeed number one Tuch show in the Ohio Alley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain, and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
The bloom Daddy Experience gets seven oh six on news
radio eleven seventy.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Good Thursday morning.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
And let me start by saying, thank God, the Jimmy
Kimmel may be gone, not fired, but taking off a
number of stations across America for comments that he made
about the Charlie Kirk shooting. Now you've got liberals crying saying,
oh what about the First Amendment? Oh what about cancel culture?
(00:48):
Now we're getting canceled. Hold on a second. Nobody's getting
fired because they didn't use the right pronoun. Nobody's getting
fired because they refused to take a vaccine that wasn't
fully tested. Nobody's getting fired for those ridiculous reasons. People
are getting fired for misconveying the truth or making up
(01:10):
their own narrative and misleading people on purpose. Jimmy Kimmel
just got in trouble because on his show he repeatedly
has said that Tyler Robinson, the murderer of Charlie Kirk,
was a part of MAGA. He's continually said that even
though the FBI and I believe two law enforcement officials
(01:31):
have come out and said after interviewing family and friends,
there is no doubt that Tyler Robinson was radicalized by
the left. Yet Jimmy Kimmel continuing to say that he
was a MAGA supporter. So Jimmy Kimmel on purpose is
misleading his audience. Jimmy Kimmel on purpose is spreading lies,
false narratives. And if he's not doing it on purpose,
(01:54):
then Jimmy Kimmel is incredibly ill informed. And I'm not
going to buy that. Jimmy Kimmel. Here's the thing about
Jimmy Kimmel. I could never understand why this guy got
to where he was in the first place. You're talking
about one of the least talented individuals I've ever seen
in my life.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
First of all, the guy is not funny.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Second of all, he's about he's got the personality of
ahead of Lettuce, and the fact that he panders to
the left, kisses the ass of the left is not
only hilarious to me, But if you don't know about
Jimmy Kimmel's beginnings, I guess you probably don't realize why
he kisses the rear end of the left.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
This guy objectified women.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
This guy did incredibly, incredibly offensive material. Early on before
the whole woke movement. He was on a show called
The Man Show with Adam Carolla. They had a segment
called the Juggies where they had women with big breaths
in bikinis jumping on trampolines as they sat there and
drank beer and made comments.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Now, did I.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Find it funny at the time, Absolutely not saying it wasn't?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Is it offensive? Could be to some?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
My point is this Jimmy Kimmel panders to the left
because he didn't want canceled.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
He didn't want them to.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Go back and dig up stuff that he did while
he was while he was climbing the ladder and have
it come back to haunt them. So it's easier to
just sit there and pretend like you're offended by everything,
to pretend like the Left is your best friend when.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
You're trying to cover your own butt.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
And I truly believe that's exactly what Jimmy Kimmel did once.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
He got to the top.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You see, if you sit there and you take up
the left's cause they're not gonna pick you out, they're
not gonna single you out, they're not gonna cancel you.
It's the same thing with Howard Stern. I mean, Howard's
let's be objective here. This guy's made gazillions of dollars,
kudos to him, but he did it using low hanging fruit.
Who can't get on the radio and talk about sex
(03:56):
and objectify women and not get ratings. You're aiming at
the lowest common denominator amongst young men.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Anybody, a damn monkey.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Can get on there and have women come into the
studio start kissing on each other, you're gonna get ratings.
But the stuff that Howard Stern did all the way
through his career, using women, objectifying women, degrading stuff, why
(04:29):
do you think he's sucked up to the left, same
reason as Kimmel. Didn't want to get canceled, didn't want
to get in trouble. So what do you do. You
become one of them, can't beat them, join them. Got
no respect for either of these two guys. And back
to Jimmy Kimmel. This is exactly what he deserves. And
I'm glad to see the FCC finally get some Kolakis
(04:51):
and start holding the media accountable. I saw where the
new FCC director basically said, look, if people aren't gonna
be held accountable, if media companies are not going to
clean up and do things right, then we're going to
clean it up for him. So Disney taking Kimmel off
of a number of stations, putting the show on temporary hiatus. Look,
(05:12):
something's got to be done. The media is a cancer.
It is a cesspool. People don't care if they get
facts wrong. They don't even care if they tell you
the whole story. They pick and choose what they want
to report. What it's become is in absolute embarrassment. And
that's why I'm glad to see the FCC finally stepping
(05:33):
up and saying we will find you, we will take
you off the air.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
You need to clean things up. Like I just got
a text from a buddy who's a lefty.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
He sent me a meme or a post that's going
around social media right now.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
It says this is corporate media.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Today, CBS fires Stephen Colbert for mocking Trump that's not true.
ABC fires Terry Moran for slamming Stephen Miller as world
class hater. That's not true. MSNBC fires Matt Dowd for
saying hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, lead to hateful actions.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
No, they didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Matt Dowd was the idiot right after Charlie Kirk was
shot who was saying, hey, you know what, it could
have been a Charlie Kirk supporter firing his weapon in
celebration and it could have errantly hit him. Anybody who
says something that ignorant deserves to be fired. But yet
whoever made this post wants to take a little snippet
(06:33):
and make it seem like he's the victim. And in
this post it says Fox stands by Brian Killmead as
he calls for Nazi style state murder of America's six
hundred thousand homeless people. That's when I agree with Brian
Killmead should be fired. I mean he said on air
in a discussion that all mentally ill homeless people should
(06:55):
just be killed. I mean, you want to talk about
an irrespond statement, You want to talk about an insightful statement.
This is a guy pointing the finger at the other side,
saying that the left cause the killing of Charlie Kirk
and everything they say is insightful. And then he says
something that ignorant, that inhumane. Yeah, let's just go kill
(07:16):
any kind of mentally ill homeless person. Brian kill me
and should be fired. And this is where I get
back to there's just no accountability in media anymore. And
it's beyond sick. It's beyond sick. Cancel culture. I am
not a fan of it, but like Jimmy Kimmel, when
you're getting on there saying lies, pushing a false narrative,
(07:38):
when you know what's being reported and you ignore it, you.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Deserve to be fired.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
You're listening to The bloom Daddy Experience eleven seventy WWVA
seven nineteen.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Good morning, everybody, The Bloomy Experience salmon Otis News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA. It's Thursday. It's Thursday, so that means
it is our free half gallon of ice cream from Kirks.
So get those registrations in seven zero four seven zero,
name and phone number and that will be your registration.
(08:21):
So we've got that going on today. We also have
your chance to win from our friends at McCormick's, and
we have our last pair of do wop tickets, so
we have plenty to get through today.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
That sounds like fun.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Sounds like fun.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Do you wop mccormicks, You can't. You always need. It's
always good to have gifts. Youre to be gets for
car repair, because it's better than coming out of your pocket,
even if it's just an oil change or tire rotation
or something of that nature. I mean, it's basic maintenance.
And if it doesn't come out of your pocket, it's
a lot better.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
And I hate to say this, folks, we're approaching that
time of year where you.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Want to win a rise your car. Yeah, I mean
you're gonna have to you know, you want to make
sure we're.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
All do even a new pair of wipers.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Fluids are topped off wipers, yep, you know, so on
and so forth, so all that, you know, because eventually,
when the temperature drops, you know it's gonna have to
you know what you're gonna have to do. You're gonna
have to put air in your tires too. Oh yeah,
because the air condenses and then all of a sudden,
your thirty eight PSI goes down to about thirty three
or thirty two.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
And then the light comes stupid light comes on right right.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
And then you're struggling to find the an air pump
that doesn't cost you money.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Real quick kind of turn. Turn a little bit here,
a little bit of a programming note to let everybody
know here on WWVA, happening this Sunday, beginning at two o'clock,
we will be carrying the funeral and memorial service for
Charlie Kirk. Again, that will be here live at two
pm right here on News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. The
(09:57):
funeral and the memorial service will be carried for political
activists Charlie Kirk. So you can tune into that. I
posted it yesterday on our Facebook page. But we'll continue
to remind you. There's been a lot of people asking,
you know, how do we watch, how do we listen?
How do we you know, somehow be involved. So we
are carrying that live here beginning at two o'clock, right
(10:19):
here on WWVA. And of course the app so many
ways to listen to that. I want to go back
to the Jimmy Kimmel situation or early retirement. Can we
call it that for mister Kimmel, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
I just called a suspension for now. Nothing's really set
in stone.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I was surprised and not surprised
last night when I got when I got the alert
listen and bloom Daddy brought this up. When I think
of Jimmy Kimmel, I think back to the nineties, I
think back to The Man Show. That's where he got
(11:02):
his start. Basically, that's where he became front of mine,
gained his popularity. And it just it cracks me up
where it's it's such a double standard or it's so hypocritical,
where you know, when when the woke movement hit, people
(11:24):
dug and they dog and they dug. They went to
people's past, you know, twenty years ago, fifteen years all
this kind of stuff, and they were canceled and they
were canceled. And this person was canceled, not somebody like
Jimmy Kimball Kimmel because he pandered to left. What's funny
is his co host at the time on the Man's Show,
(11:45):
Adam Carolla. He has his own podcast and he swings
to the conservative side of things. So here are two
guys that come from the same platform of big arrested
women bouncing on trampolines, and they've kind of gone the separate,
(12:07):
separate side of things. The the the commentary that he
made on Monday was this, we hit some new lows
over the weekend with Maga Gang, with the Maga Gang
desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk
as anything other than one of them, endoing everything they
(12:28):
can to score political points from it. In between the
finger pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White House
flew the flat flew the flags at half staff, which
got some criticism, But on a human level, you can
see how hard the President is taking this. It's insensitive
(12:49):
and that's what it comes down to with a lot
of this commentary. Whether you know it's somebody on a
national stage, some troll on Facebook, it's insensitive. But if
we're gonna call out Jimmy Kimmel, President Trump had a
response last night on his ex Great news for America,
(13:10):
the ratings challenge Jimmy Kimmel Show is canceled. Congratulations to
ABC for finally having the courage to do what had
to be done. Kimmel has zero talent and worse ratings
than even Colbert. If that's possible, that leaves Jimmy and
Seth two total losers on fake news NBC. That doesn't
(13:32):
do any good either. And those are the kind of
things since Trump, during his initial term, I have said
multiple times, take the phone away. Stop. It just reflects
bad on him. So if we're gonna judge those, now,
(13:57):
this is not about the murder of somebody, and I
completely acknowledge that. But what I'm saying is, if we're
gonna call out people, we have to call out everybody,
because that is not a presidential statement, and that is
not necessary. And I understand there are those out there
that are gonna argue, you know, they're tired of the
whole unity thing. They're tired of being the you know,
(14:19):
taking the higher side of the you know, the taking
the being the bigger person that whole. I get all
of that. I get all of that as a Trump person,
as a conservative, though, you have to be able to
take take a step back and say that does nobody
any good either. But when we're talking about the late shows,
(14:40):
if we're talking about Colbert, and we're talking about Kimmel
and and you know what happened to the purpose of
these being funny. That's what Late Night was think about about.
Back to Letterman, Lenno, That's what I grew up with. Uh, Carson,
I sort of remember, Carson, what happened to that? That
happened to funny? That's completely gone away. If you look
(15:04):
at Stephen Colbert, who I believe his tenure ends in
May of next year, and his cancelation was announced earlier
in the summer. Since twenty twenty two, listen to these numbers.
Since twenty twenty two, he has had one hundred and
seventy six liberal guests, whether that is liberal media host
(15:26):
whether that is liberal candidates one hundred and seventy six
since twenty twenty two, one Republican one one hundred and
seventy six to one. So if you're going to hold
(15:47):
up one side, you have to balance that out or
you're gonna get called to the carpet, which is what
is happening. But again, I go back to what happened
to the funny? I mean I think otis when I
think Carson, I immediately think either the the animal segments
(16:09):
where he's got a snake crawling around his neck or
something else, or he's got on the the genie hat.
What was that character? Do you remember?
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (16:18):
The great, wasn't it. I'm just stumping Karnack. I think, yeah,
that's gone away. Hollywood entertainment has gotten so involved in
the political sphere. Us is the public. We go to
(16:40):
these things like SNL, like Late Night for a break
from it. Sports sports is another prime example for a
break from it. We don't get it anymore. We just
don't get it anymore. But we're gonna take a break.
Seven twenty eight. You're listening to the Blue Daddy Experience.
Sam and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Come back to the show on your Thursday morning. I'm
gonna preface what I'm about to say with this ode out.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Workers.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
I love you, valuable job, commendable job, hard working job,
but I'm not a fan of yours.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Right now.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
If I got to see another orange barrel staring me
in the face, i don't know what I'm gonna do.
Driving to Cleveland, nothing but barrels, nothing but orange barrels.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
They start at Sugar Creek, they.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Go almost all the way to the Canton Corporation limit
get a little reprieve, more orange.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
Barrels, orange barrels everywhere. So then.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
When I was coming back from Cleveland the other night driving,
I decide to go, you know what, I'll just go
to the interstate the whole way, because usually around New
Philly I jump on two fifty, go through tap and
if I'm coming back to Saint Cea or I go
back to the house, it tappened lake, but either way,
I was coming back to Saint Sea and I thought,
you know what, I'm just gonna go highway the whole way.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
So I do. What a mistake that was? What a
frickin' mistake that was.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
From the Seneca Lake exit all the way through Quaker City,
nothing but orange barrels, get a little reprieve and then
orange barrels. I believe, I want to say, Barnesville Exit
eight hundred exit, all the way past Union Local, orange
(18:27):
barrel after orange barrel after orange barrel.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
And I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
If you want to see where we are as a
human race, approach a construction zone, and what I mean
by that is you will see exactly what is wrong
with the human race in an area like that. You
know what I'm talking about, where it says, right lane
closed up ahead. As soon as you see that sign,
(18:51):
everybody should get in the left lane right, because if
everybody gets in a row, everything will go pretty smooth.
But as soon as everybody moves to the left, what
do you see cars blowing up in that right lane,
trying to cut ahead of everybody all the way up
to where the lane merges.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
What's that tell you?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
That tells you that those people in that lane who
are trying to pass everybody who did the right thing
by getting in the left lane, those people think their
time is more valuable than yours. They think they are
more important than you. That's what it tells you. It
tells you they are very selfish, They are very self centered.
That they don't give a damn about you. They don't
(19:29):
give a damn about what's doing, what's right. They don't
care that if they simply got over like everybody else
and got in line, it would go seamlessly. They don't care.
And I sit there and I watch this, and sometimes
I'll go over and I'll block the right lane, or
a truck driver will get over and block the right lane.
(19:51):
Why does it take that, Why does it take somebody
doing that to stop people from acting incredibly selfish. Again,
when it comes to mankind, I just sit there and
I shake my head.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
I really truly do.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I'm a lot of things, and people will tell you
that there's a lot of things with me. My personality
I am not proud of. But I am a courteous person.
I get over. I get over every time. I never
buzz up in front of people. I always hold the
door open for people. I always stop and let people
cross the street in front of me. One thing I
(20:27):
am I'm courteous and when other people aren't, it makes
my temper go from zero to ten in about one
point one seconds. But again, let me reiterate, O DOT workers,
I love you. Very important job. You do a great job.
When the highway's paved smooth, it's beautiful. But I'm just
(20:48):
having a hard time liking you right now because everywhere
I go there is an orange barrel. But otis sam
getting back to the people who want to cut and
just keep on going.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
How do you feel about it?
Speaker 4 (21:03):
I'm gonna start this sae.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
So as a kid growing up, my mom was adamant
about this. She hated when like there was a merge
lane and people would come up and cut in line
and everything else. Oh yes, she loved it when the
tractor trailers pulled over and blocked them. And I've done
it in the past myself, you know. I mean, look,
I get it, and I agree with bloom Daddy on that,
(21:26):
but I also think that there's times when there's people
out there that don't understand what's going on. And it
just happened last week. I was headed. I was headed
down four seventy from Bethlehem going to cross over into
Ohio and tech take the Blair Bridgeport exit.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
There that lovely situation.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
Currently, there was a tractor trailer broke down in the
one lane because if you're coming down four seventy now
it splits. So if you're in the right lane, you
can take the Wheeling Mountainsville exit and you can take
the Blair Bridgepoard exit. If you take the left lane,
you pass those two. Okay. There was a truck that
was broke down right on the bridge on the bridge
(22:05):
on the bridge, so it's stuck and you can't get
around it because of the barriers and everything else. So
traffic is backed up on four to seventy back up
to Bethlehem Hill. There were two trucks, one of those
sand trucks for the for the oil and gas people,
and one was in the right lane where it basically
(22:28):
it is the exit lane to get off to go
to Wheeling. So but he's back before that, so he's
blocking that lane. So the people can't get off of
the Wheeling exit. They're not trying to cut line, they
just want to get off the exit. So if you
don't know the road, now you're the problem because you
(22:49):
don't know the road and where that could have alleviated
a lot of traffic by people getting off and going
down and getting on seventy and going through the tunnel
and whatever. No, he was in that right lane and
screwing everything up. I ended up because I ended up
seeing I went. I got in the left lane, went
all past and I went all the way up to
(23:09):
the two fourteen egit turn around, turned around, and I
came back down and get off the Blair Bridgeport exit.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
That happened to me a couple weeks ago, the first
time I came across the bridge in the situation it's
in because I did not realize if I stayed in
the left lane, I could not take the bel Air exit.
I didn't realize it. And then yesterday I was meeting
somebody in bel Air for a meeting. They were coming
across the bridge. They had to go all the way
up to the two fourteen exit and turn around.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
Well there's a sign that says exit one and six
right lane.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
Okay, I didn't see it.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
I'm just saying, but there is a sign there.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
They coming down Bethlehem Hill with all of that going on,
you know, you may not know the exit numbers. You're
not sure what they're referring to. And then four seventy
is a major highway thoroughfare, so for people who are
traveling it, the semi truck worker, you know, some eyes
are anything like that. They don't know what they're looking at.
They don't know where they can get off to avoid things.
(24:05):
So you know, it is a pain. And I thought
they just did this like six months ago with that bridge.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Well they're working, say they were working on the outside lanes,
now they're working on the inside lanes or price versa.
You know, you're driving on the inside lanes and now
they're working on the outside lanes.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Well, and we got we got a text on our
text line seven zero four seven zero started off with
bloom Daddy. It says. Highway engineering experts say that two
lines going into one by taking turns is much more efficient.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Oh it is if you do it right.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
If you do, but there's always that handful of you
know who's who, and there's been time there.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
If you use the zipper theory, yes, then it should work.
But then what happens is you have the people that
do block the lanes and so that when you block
the lane, then that backs up traffic, and then there's
no zipper because you have there's nobody coming in that rate,
you know. I mean, there's two sides to it. I
get the I don't. If I'm sitting in line and
(25:05):
I'm the fortieth car before I get to the where
it merges and I see forty cars go by me
and get in, then yes, I do get mad, ok
one or two. Listen, I get it. Sometimes people don't
under they don't realize it. I've done that, you know,
and you're like, oh, crap, I should have gotten over yep. Okay,
that happens.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
And then you think, oh, I look now, yeah yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
I'm the ahole. Yeah. So but I mean I understand
that that happens and I don't mind if one or
two is it by me, but when it's like thirty
or forty of them, then I do have a problem
with you.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
You know what irritates that, you know what out of me.
I get in the passing lane right and say, I'm
passing a semi truck. Another car cuts in front of
me to pass, and then they decide they're going to
go the same speed as the semi truck. So now
(25:54):
is not only they're not passing, they're not actually passing.
So now there's nowhere to go.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
I can't stand that. And I always remind myself, just
you know, it's not worth it. Be patient, be it. Oh,
I just want to scream. Or somebody who on a
side road pulls right out in front of you. They
wait till the very like they can see you coming down,
and they wait and they say, oh, you know what,
(26:21):
I'm gonna pull out, and you have to slam on
your brakes. And when they pull out in front of you,
they decide they're gonna go about twenty miles an hour,
and nine times out of ten when that's going on,
I've got to get somewhere to go to the bathroom
and they just just I'm on a nice Sunday drive,
Lotty dotty do and oh god. Anyways. Seven zero four
(26:47):
seven zero is our text line registered for registered to
win your chance for a half gallon of ice cream
from Kirks. Just started off with bloom Daddy. We just
need your name and phone number. That's your registration for
Kirk's ice cream. Seven zero four seven zero are text line.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
And coming up shortly your chance to win McCormick's auto
gift certification.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yes, that is coming up here very shortly. Seven forty
six The Bloom Daddy Experience, Sam and Otis News Radio,
eleven seventy WWVA. Welcome back to seven fifty one The
bloom Daddy Experience Sam and Otis News Radio, eleven seventy WWVA.
(27:32):
A little update on the situation in Wellsburg, West Virginia
surrounding Mayor Dudley. You know ever since if you tuned
into the show on Monday, we had Mayor Dudley live
on the show as he defended his social media comments.
Good interview. I had some feedback on the interview. Some
(27:56):
people are happy with it, some people were not, and
I understand both sides. But yesterday was contacted to let
me know about a protest that is set to happen
this Saturday at nine am. It is to happen on
the corners of eighth and ninth Commerce Streets. I wanted
to put that out there for you again. That's this
(28:17):
Saturday at nine am, calling for the resignation of the
mayor over the comments that he had on social media
in regards to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. You know,
thinking about this and some people are probably not gonna
be happy with me, but that's fine. This is a
(28:42):
glaring example of why you vote. So as of this morning,
there's over eleven hundred signatures on the petition for him
to resign. Okay, over eleven hundred. Eleven hundred, there's roughly
(29:03):
twenty two hundred residents of Wellsburg, so fifty percent at
this point. For reelection. First of all, he ran unopposed.
There were less than five hundred people who came out
to vote. Think about that. I am not saying that
(29:32):
people are of Wellsburg are responsible for what he posted
on social media. Absolutely not. What I am saying is,
if you can now take the time to sign an
online petition, you should have taken the time to vote
or how did he run unopposed? So there's other accountability
(29:59):
in this situation. So the first election, there was one
hundred and eighty seven votes over his opponent, which was
a rite in candidate who garnered only nineteen votes. So
(30:20):
one hundred and seventy one hundred and eighty seven votes
for himself, nineteen votes for his right in opponent. That's
only two hundred and six votes in the mayor race.
And that's according to the research that I've done for
that's the first term, two hundred and six. That's it
(30:42):
in a city of roughly twenty two hundred residents. That's
a problem. But it's not just a problem in Wellsburg.
It's a problem nationwide. You know, Elgind and I political
analyst Elgia mccartal on the show on Wednesdays, we've talked
about this. You have to vote. We have become lazy
(31:07):
as a nation when it comes to our civic duties. Listen,
having the right to vote is the biggest weapon we
have as an American citizen. And there are those that
take it for granted. And I'm not attacking the people
(31:28):
of Wellsburg, but I think it's a glaring example of
a nationwide problem. People have to be more involved, People
have to be willing to step up. Maybe you don't
(31:50):
want to run for office, but you still have to vote.
And I understand people who would say I would never
run for office. I understand that you are under a microscope,
an absolute microscope. But it amazes me that more than
half of the population of Wellsburg is more than willing
(32:11):
to sit behind a keyboard and sign the petition to
get the mayor out, but not willing to go and vote.
I think that says a lot. So what happens on
Saturday with this peaceful protest that is organized at nine am,
(32:38):
it will be really interesting to see how many people
show up physically show up, because again, it's very easy,
it's convenient, it's lazy. It's the easy thing to do
to sit behind a computer and sign a petition. And
(33:00):
I'm not saying don't sign a petition. I understand the point.
I'm not saying don't do that. What I'm saying is,
don't just do the simplest thing to feel involved. Don't
take the simplest course of action in regards to something
(33:24):
to make yourself feel as if you're involved. In something.
You have to be more. You have to be more.
So just a few thoughts. I had posted the interview
on Monday and wanted to let you know about the
protest happening this Saturday. All right, if you want to
do our first chance to win this morning, sure, let's do. Mccormicks.
(33:46):
Get yourself some wiper blades or an oil change one
hundred sixty two four eleven seventy one, eight hundred sixty
two four eleven seventy for a gift certificate to our
friends at mccormicks down in Glendale. Let's do. Caller number nine,
Caller number nine one, one hundred and six to four
eleven seventy seven fifty eight. The bloo Daddy Experience Sam
(34:08):
and otis news Radio eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
The number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
News Radio eleven seventy It's the bloom Daddy Experience.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Hey, it's eight six, Let's get this.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Hour rolling good Thursday morning, and let me start by saying,
thank god, Jimmy Kimmel may be gone, not fired, but
taking off a number of stations across America for comments
that he made about the Charlie Kirk shooting. Now you've
got liberals crying saying, oh what about the First Amendment?
(35:07):
Oh what about cancel culture? Now we're getting canceled. Hold
on a second. Nobody's getting fired because they didn't use
the right pronoun. Nobody's getting fired because they refused to
take a vaccine that wasn't fully tested. Nobody's getting fired
for those ridiculous reasons. People are getting fired for misconveying
(35:29):
the truth or making up their own narrative and misleading
people on purpose. Jimmy Kimmel just got in trouble because
on his show he repeatedly has said that Tyler Robinson,
the murderer of Charlie Kirk, was a part of MAGA.
He's continually said that even though the FBI and I
(35:50):
believe two law enforcement officials have come out and said
after interviewing family and friends, there is no doubt that
Tyler Robinson was radicalized by the left. Yetjimmy Kimmel continuing
to say that he was a MAGA supporter. So Jimmy
Kimmel on purpose is misleading his audience. Jimmy Kimmel on
purpose is spreading lies, false narratives. And if he's not
(36:14):
doing it on purpose, then Jimmy Kimmel is incredibly ill
informed and I'm not going to buy that Jimmy Kimmel.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Here's the thing about Jimmy Kimmel.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
I could never understand why this guy got to where
he was in the first place. You're talking about one
of the least talented individuals I've ever seen in my life.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
First of all, the guy is not funny.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Second of all, he's about He's got the personality of
the head of Lettuce and the fact that he panders
to the left kisses the ass of the left is
not only hilarious to me. But if you don't know
about Jimmy Kimmel's beginnings, I guess you probably don't realize
why he kisses the rear end of the left. This
(36:55):
guy objectified women. This guy did incredibly, incredibly offensive material.
Early on before the whole woke movement. He was on
a show called Demand Show with Adam Carolla. They had
a segment called the Juggies, where they had women with
big breaths in bikinis jumping on trampolines as they sat
(37:16):
there and drank beer and made comments.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Now, did I.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Find it funny at the time, Absolutely not saying it
wasn't Is it offensive?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Could be to some.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
My point is this Jimmy Kimmel panders to the left
because he didn't want canceled.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
He didn't want them.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
To go back and dig up stuff that he did
while while he was climbing the ladder and have it
come back to hauntum. So it's easier to just sit
there and pretend like you're offended by everything, to pretend
like the Left is your best friend when you're trying.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
To cover your own butt.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
And I truly believe that's exactly what Jimmy Kimmel did once.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
He got to the top.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
You see, if you sit there and you take up
the left's cause they're not gonna pick you out, they're
not gonna single you out, they're not gonna cancel you.
It's the same thing with Howard Stern. I mean, Howard's
are let's be objective here. This guy's made gazillions of
dollars kudos to him, But he did it using low
hanging fruit.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
Who can't get on the radio.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
And talk about sex and objectify women and not get ratings.
You're aiming at the lowest common denominator amongst young men.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Anybody, a damn monkey.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Can get on there and have women come into the
studio start kissing on each other, You're gonna get ratings.
But the stuff that Howard Stern did all the way
through his career using women, objectifying women, degrading stuff, why
(38:50):
do you think he's sucked up to the left, same
reason as Kimmel. Didn't want to get canceled, didn't want
to get in trouble.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
So what do you do.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
You become one of them, can't beat them, join us.
Got no respect for either of these two guys. And
back to Jimmy Kimmel, this is exactly what he deserves.
And I'm glad to see the FCC finally get some
Kalakis and start holding the media accountable. I saw where
the new FCC director basically said, look, if people aren't
going to be held accountable, if media companies are not
(39:21):
going to clean up and do things right, then we're
going to.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Clean it up for them.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
So Disney taking Kimmel off of a number of stations,
putting the show on temporary hiatus. Look, something's got to
be done. The media is a cancer. It is a cesspool.
People don't care if they get facts wrong. They don't
even care if they tell you the whole story. They
pick and choose what they want to report. What it's
(39:46):
become is an absolute embarrassment. And that's why I'm glad
to see the FCC finally stepping up and saying we
will find you, we will take you off the air.
You need to clean things up. He has got a
text from a buddy who's a lefty. He sent me
(40:07):
a meme or a post that's going around social media
right now. It says this is corporate media today. CBS
fires Stephen Colbert for mocking Trump. That's not true. ABC
fires Terry Moran for slamming Stephen Miller.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Is world class hater. That's not true.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
MSNBC fires Matt Dowd for saying hateful thoughts lead to
hateful words, lead to hateful actions.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
No, they didn't.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Matt Dowd was the idiot right after Charlie Kirk was
shot who was saying, hey, you know what It could
have been a Charlie Kirk supporter firing his weapon in
celebration and it could have errantly hit him. Anybody who
says something that ignorant deserves to be fired. But yet
whoever made this post wants to take a little snippet
(40:54):
and make it seem like he's the victim. And in
this post it says Fox stands by Brian Kilmead is
he calls for Nazi style state murder of America's six
hundred thousand homeless people. That's what I agree with. Brian
Killmead should be fired. I mean he said on air
in a discussion that all mentally ill homeless people should
(41:16):
just be killed. I mean, you want to talk about
an irresponsible statement, you want to talk about an insightful statement.
This is a guy pointing the finger at the other
side saying that the left cause the killing of Charlie
Kirk and everything they say is insightful, and then he
says something that ignorant, that inhumane. Yeah, let's just go
kill any kind of mentally ill homeless person.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Brian kill Mead should be fired.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
And this is where I get back to there is
just no accountability in media anymore. And it's beyond sick.
It's beyond sick. Cancel culture. I am not a fan
of it, but like Jimmy Kimmel, when you're getting on
there saying lies, pushing a false narrative, when you no
(42:01):
what's being reported and you ignore it, you.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Deserve to be fired.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
You're listening to The Bloom Daddy Experience eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
Welcome back. It's eight nineteen, The Bloom Daddy Experience, Sam
and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. If you're just
tuning in a programming announcement happening on Tuesday, not Tuesday,
I'm sorry, happening on Sunday, right here on WWVA eleven seventy.
(42:35):
We're going to be carrying live beginning at two o'clock,
the funeral and memorial service for Charlie Kirk. Again, that
is happening this Sunday at two pm right here on WWVA. Also,
there will be no breaks during this broadcast, So that
is happening at two o'clock right here on WWVA this Sunday.
(43:00):
Little programming for you. Also in regards to the Charlie Kirk,
Jimmy Kimmel, that entire topic that is the story of
the day. Sinclair broad Broadcast Group, which has thirty ABC
affiliates across the nation, has announced it will air a
(43:20):
special in remembrance of Charlie Kirk during the Friday Jimmy
Kimmel time slot. So more repercussions, more fallout with the
suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, So again happening on thanks to
the Sinclair Broadcast Group on the Friday timeslot that would
(43:41):
have been held by Jimmy Kimmel. There is going to
be a special in remembrance of Charlie Kirk that will
be happening. So we continue to see fallout from a
lot of commentary, a lot of reactions in regards to
the assassinate assassination of Charlie Kirk. So one thing I
just wanted to point out real quick before we move
(44:03):
off this particular subject. Pay attention to a lot of
the reactions from some folks, not even you know, somebody
close to you. But just look what's happening across the nation.
We're seeing candlelight visuals, we are seeing church attendance increase,
(44:26):
we are seeing involvement on a record level of young
people across this country. Whether it's they're attending churches, whether
they are attending visuals, whether they are walking into the
front door of turning point offices. There is a momentum happening.
(44:51):
There is something happening, and I can't put my finger
on it, but there is something happening in this country
post the Charlie Kirk assassination and just sort of take
take a take a moment and look at the reaction
from everybody across the gamut. There. There's there's no anger,
(45:18):
there's no pre you know, the prote the labeling. You know,
pay attention where the name calling is coming from, where
the character assassination is coming from, and then pay attention
to how others are reacting with the visuals and the
church attendance and you know that kind of stuff. So
so just wanted to highlight that a little bit. Also
(45:40):
because a lot of people had a guttural emotional reaction
last week. People jumped on social media said thing, just
stop breathe and again, pay attention to how some people
are reacting. Yeah. So but again little programming note for us.
(46:04):
Also coming up, we're gonna have your chance to win
a pair of do wop tickets. That's coming up here
very very shortly. It's our last pair, so jump on
the phones when we give you the number. And I
was mentioned earlier about voting in the state of Ohio,
(46:25):
just a heads up. If you are not a registered
voter as of yet, and this is for citizens of Ohio,
you have to be registered by October sixth to qualify
for the November fourth general election that is coming. So again,
if you are not a registered voter, you have until
(46:46):
October sixth to go through that for the upcoming election
that is on November fourth. Here is where you can
register at any county Board of Elections or the Secretary
of State's office, at branch registration offices or locations established
as board of elections, at any public public high school
(47:09):
or vacational school, the office of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles,
public libraries, county treasurers offices. So there you have it.
There are plenty ways to get registered. So if you
are not, the deadline is October sixth to get in
those applications. And as I said earlier, you have to vote.
(47:30):
You have to vote. It is part of your civic duty.
You have to vote. And that is for residents of
the Great state of Ohio. Don't roll your eyes.
Speaker 6 (47:41):
Otis a little sports, a little sports information, so happening
week through the NFL season.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
It is here. I don't know who has the Thursday
night game.
Speaker 5 (47:55):
It's a night first story.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
Where's that at?
Speaker 5 (48:00):
Uh? The CITs here Thursday night football? Is the Dolphins
visit the oh Bills?
Speaker 4 (48:05):
Okay I was kidding. Yes, yes, the Bills and the Dolphins.
That is happening tonight. Meanwhile, the one and one Steelers
square off against the Patriots on Sunday after noon. And
then see here are the Browns and the Bengals are
also an action. On Sunday, Cleveland hosts the Packers, while
(48:26):
since he visits the Vikings. The Browns are zero and
two and the Bengals are two and oh, so they
are polar opposites of each other. So yippie, yippie from
a Browns fan. Sorry, I can't even fake the enthusiasm anymore.
Speaker 5 (48:49):
And college football High States on a bye. Yes, and
the West Virginia Mountaineers visit Kansas this weekend for an
evening game.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
So that's not the team with that's not the team
with the blue field, is it? No?
Speaker 5 (49:00):
No, No, that's bois Stuf.
Speaker 6 (49:01):
That's it.
Speaker 5 (49:01):
Yeah, that is, and then Eastern Washington's is red.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
Oh I haven't seen that one. Yeah, I can't. I
can't do the blue field. It messes with my eyes
on the TV screen.
Speaker 5 (49:12):
I think it's just it's all in your head.
Speaker 4 (49:15):
It's all in my head.
Speaker 5 (49:17):
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. I think somebody has
a gray field too. I can't think of who that
is gray.
Speaker 4 (49:26):
Sure it's not my front yard.
Speaker 5 (49:27):
No, No, that would be brown.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
Oh no, it's pushing gray at this point. It doesn't
even it doesn't even hold the color of brown.
Speaker 5 (49:36):
Hey, a couple quick announcements. You just remember FEMA. Yes,
on Monday, that's your last day to fill out your
I mean to submit your application for any flood relief
if you're Ohio County or if you're listening to Marion
County as well. But September twenty seconds is the last
day for applications. They can be submitted online, by phone,
or in person at the Disaster Recovery Center at the
(49:56):
Try to Off Your Community Center and also the SBA,
in partnership with FEMA, is offering homeowners the chance to
apply for up to a half a million dollars in
physical damages and small business owners can apply for up
to two million dollars. So you know all that that
all that ends on Monday. So if you haven't applied,
(50:17):
please do so.
Speaker 4 (50:19):
And we have been telling you about this for about
a week and a half at least, so plenty of
heads up on that one. Just a reminder you have
about what would you say? Oh, it's about ten minutes,
little under ten minutes to still register on our text
line seven zero four seven zero started off with bloom
(50:40):
Daddy and that is your chance to win from Kirk's
a half gallon of ice cream. Just needs your name
and phone numbers. So you got about little under ten
minutes to still register. But let's do do wop. This
is our last pair, folks, So one sixty for eleven
seventy for your chance to win do Walk tickets happening
here at the Capitol on October fourth. This is our
(51:04):
last pair, so get your phones ready. One in hundred
sixty two four eleven seventy. Let's do Lucky number thirteen
otis's favorite number, not really lucky number thirteen, one hundred sixty.
Speaker 5 (51:19):
Becoming yours and you did it yesterday?
Speaker 4 (51:22):
How do you remember that you're listening to the bloom
Daddy Experience. Sam and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Welcome back to the show on your Thursday morning. I'm
gonna preface what I'm about to say with this ODT workers.
I love you, valuable job, commendable job, hard working job.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
But I'm not a fan of yours. Right now.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
If I got to see another orange barrel staring me
in the face, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
Driving to Cleveland, nothing but barrels, nothing but orange barrels.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
They start at Sugar Creek, they go.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Almost all the way to the Canton Corporation Limit get
a little reprieve, more orange.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
Barrels, orange barrels everywhere. So then.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
When I was coming back from Cleveland the other night,
driving I decide to go, you know what, I'll just
go the Interstate the whole way, because usually around New
Philly I jump on two fifty, go through tap and
if I'm coming back to Saint Cea or I go
back to the house, it tappen Lake. But either way,
I was coming back to Saint Sea and I thought,
you know what, I'm just gonna go Highway the whole way,
So I do what a mistake that was?
Speaker 3 (52:36):
What a frickin' mistake that was?
Speaker 2 (52:40):
From the Seneca Lake exit all the way through Quaker City,
nothing but orange barrels. Get a little reprieve and then
orange barrels, I believe, I want to say, Barnesville Exit
eight hundred exit, all the way past Union Local, orange barrel.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
After orange barrel after orange barrel.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
And I'll tell you what if you want to see
where we are as a human race approach a construction zone,
and what I mean by that is you will see
exactly what is wrong with the human race in an
area like that. You know what I'm talking about, where
it says right lane closed up ahead. As soon as
(53:22):
you see that sign, everybody should get in the left
lane right because if everybody gets in a row, everything
will go pretty smooth. But as soon as everybody moves
to the left, what do you see cars blowing up
in that right lane trying to cut ahead of everybody
all the way up to where the lane merges. What's
that tell you? That tells you that those people in
(53:43):
that lane who are trying to pass everybody who did
the right thing by getting in the left lane. Those
people think their time is more valuable than yours. They
think they are more important than you. That's what it
tells you. It tells you they are very selfish, they
are very self centered. That they don't give a damn
about you. They don't give a damn about what's doing,
what's right. They don't care that if they simply got
(54:07):
over like everybody else and got in line, it would
go seamlessly.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
They don't care. And I sit there and I watch this,
and sometimes.
Speaker 2 (54:17):
I'll go over and I'll block the right lane, or
a truck driver will get over and block the right lane.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
Why does it take that?
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Why does it take somebody doing that to stop people
from acting incredibly selfish again when it comes to mankind,
I just sit there and I shake my head.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
I really truly do.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
I'm a lot of things, and people will tell you
that there's a lot of things with me. My personality
I am not proud of. But I am a courteous person.
I get over. I get over every time. I never
buzz up in front of people. I always hold the
door open for people. I always stop and let people
cross the street in front of me. Thing I am,
(55:01):
I'm courteous and when other people aren't, it makes my
temper go from zero to ten in about one point
one seconds. But again, let me reiterate, O DOT workers,
I love you, very important job. You do a great job.
When the highway's paved smooth, it's beautiful. But I'm just
(55:21):
having a hard time liking you right now because everywhere
I go there is an orange barrel. But otis sam
getting back to the people who want to cut and
just keep on going.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
How do you feel about it?
Speaker 5 (55:36):
Well, we talked a little bit about this. I'm not
I'm not a fan of the line jumpers. You know.
I also don't like sitting in line for forever. You know,
I have. I have done the get up in front
of the tractor trailer where there's an opening. I try not,
(55:58):
you know, And I've done it where I'm like, oh,
that came up a lot quicker and I thought it
was going to. So it's not that I've done it intentionally,
but I've done it. And you know, I mean, I'm
a firm believer in the Zipper theory and I'm you know,
like I said earlier, I grew up My mom was
the person that when you got the construction. She loved
it when the tractor trailer moved out in the lane
(56:18):
that was the quote unquote zip lane. You know that
that's closing to stop people from coming in.
Speaker 4 (56:24):
So which, by the way, we got via our techno.
I'm sorry, I was in an email from listener Dave.
We got an actual diagram of the zipper merge process,
so if needed, I will share that on our Facebook
page for those who are not familiar with with the process.
(56:45):
We talked earlier about the four to seventy construction on
the bridge, you know, coming down the hill from Bethlehem
over into bel Air. The one situation that drives me
nuts is when I leave here in downtown Wheeling go
around to go across the bridge to go back into Ohio.
You come up and around, you go up over the tunnels,
(57:06):
and you're coming down and there's a line of traffic
coming north to get on the bridge coming from the
war Would direction. They'll see you coming up and over,
and as soon as you're starting to come down the
ramp and you're basically merging onto the highway with the
(57:26):
folks coming from the tunnel, they wait to the very
last second to pull out in front of you from
that ramp. I can't tell you how many times I
have almost rear ended a car because they wait until
you're right up on them to pull out in front
of you, so you can't go anywhere.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
The left lane is dedicated to the people that are
coming out of the tunnel, yes, the right lane is
dedicated to the people that are coming over top of
the tunnel, yeah, and swooping down in. And you know
what happens is you have people that don't know how
to merge. They figured that they have to get over
extremely fast to take the Island exit exit zero.
Speaker 3 (58:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (58:05):
I mean, it's just it's amazing how bad people are
driving and they don't understand the rules. I mean, I
had a lady today. I'm coming up getting ready to
come through the tunnel to take the Wheeling exit and
come here for work. So I'm coming from two point
fifty and I'm coming up that on ramp where it's
on the left hand side, and there's somebody. I'm assuming
it was a lady because when I looked over it
(58:27):
looked like a lady. There's absolutely no traffic, and she
stopped and I'm like, I'm thinking to myself, I'm going
to rear end this this person because and I wanted to.
I was gonna honk the horn. I'm like, there's not
a car in sight other than me behind her, and
(58:47):
she's at a stop and there's nothing coming.
Speaker 6 (58:50):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (58:50):
There's times where I sit and I'm driving, like this
situation here on the bridge, and I think to myself,
don't do it, don't do it. Is I can just
see the person in the car, like I imagine they're
sitting there going do I have time? Do I do it?
Do I not do it? Should I just waits.
Speaker 5 (59:07):
A lot of it's in decisions and then all of
a sudden they say, oh I'm going to go now,
yeah yeah. Or you'll have the person that there's a
there's a there's a huge gap between the traffic, and
they sit there and sit there and sit there because
they think the car is too close. I mean, it's
just like and they make a snap decision and or
they don't go at all, and it's like, what are
(59:28):
you waiting on? I mean I see this. I see
it at different places all the time, and it's like,
you know, that car's a half a mile away, you
have time to get out. They're going thirty five miles
an hour you have time.
Speaker 4 (59:42):
And again I'll sit there with people and I'm like,
don't do it. I know you're going to do it,
but don't do it. I know you're going to do it.
And nine times out of ten they pull right out
in front of you. They pull right out in front
of you. And I think it's the dumbest thing where
if you are the person that real somebody, you're always
to blame, sure, always to blame. And I think that
(01:00:05):
is one of the worst rules out there. I don't
know who came up with it, I don't know why
it's that way, but I think it is one of
the worst things out there because it's not always that
person's fault. If somebody pulls out of you and pulls
out in front of you and cuts you off and
you have no time to stop and you cannot cut
(01:00:30):
over into say the passing lane, and you have nowhere
else to go, it's that other person's fault for jumping
out in front of you. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I
think that is too that assumption that the person who
hits somebody from behind is always at fault. I don't
(01:00:51):
think that's right. I don't think that's right, because I've
come I've had too many scenarios where if I would
not have slammed on the brakes, I would have hit
somebody and it wouldn't have been my fault. It was the
person for cutting out in front of me. But the
best thing is to, basically, I guess, just stay patient,
(01:01:15):
which not always the easiest thing to do. That is
for sure, all right, Last call seven zero four seven

(01:02:00):
We have a sports controversy out of Scotland. Out of Scotland.
This is this is bad, man, I mean this is bad.
So it's a stone skipping controversy. So allegations are being
made at the UH the National stone skipping competition in Scotland,
(01:02:27):
that rules of the competition and some of the competitors
have mechanically made stones with notches or slots cut into
the stones which makes it easier to hold when it
comes to skipping the stones. Now this is this is
(01:02:50):
they're having problems with this there that this is a big,
big problem because they're only allowed to throw natural stones
on the particular island, which which is Easdale Island where
this event takes place every year. So the the toss master,
which is this the the the events coordinator says that
(01:03:13):
they are not going to stand for this problem. They
got call he says his name, his last name is Matthews.
Kyle Matthews is his name. He said he got calls
from concerned competitors. They were worried people might think that
that's how things are done around here. I have contacted
(01:03:34):
the individuals in question who admitted their transgression transgressions and
had to disqualify them. So they will not stand on
skipping mechanically made.
Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
Will standing mechanically.
Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Made stones in Scotland. I didn't even know that was
a competition. Is Scotland where they do the cheese old
thing too?
Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
Have you ever seen that one?
Speaker 4 (01:04:06):
I don't know if it's Scotland or it's a island
or England, I don't know. I guess. I guess you
find things to do to entertain you in Scotland. It's
also National Cheeseburger Day, so I guess I know what
I'm having for lunch in celebration. There are plenty of
deals out there. McDonald's is offering a fifty cent double
cheeseburger through the app. You can also get deals at
(01:04:29):
places like smash Burger where they're they're having burgers under
five bucks all day. I don't think we have a
smash Burger anywhere around here. White Castle will be giving
customers free sliders with a promo code on the app,
and let's see here, Shakeshack, which we don't have, is
teaming up with door Dash for different things, so take advantage.
(01:04:53):
It is National Cheeseburger Day. I haven't had a good
cheeseburger in a while, have you.
Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
I had two of them last night where my house
I had. I had Jacob and Son's Nold Hot Pepper
hot pepper cheese Jilipino burgers. I cooked four of them,
ate two no bun just and I sprinkled a little
bit of extra cheese on the top, so they were
(01:05:22):
pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
You give yourself two thumbs up on those?
Speaker 5 (01:05:25):
Well, wow, I did was eat them up. I mean
Jacob Sons. I mean I put a little seasoning on him,
put a little garlic powder, a little bit of pepper,
a little bit of minced onions on them.
Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
So all right, now you're making mine. I take that back.
I take that back. About two months ago, I had
a smash burger at the Pike forty and uh it
was the wag you. Oh was it good? It was good.
There's nothing better than a good cheeseburger. And I love
that cheeseburger made on a flat top, like like a
(01:05:57):
bar flat top. I don't know what the difference is,
but like a yeah, yeah, they uh yeah, but there's
nothing like a good a good cheese.
Speaker 5 (01:06:06):
Do them in the air fryer. They're pretty good because
they they maintained the moisture. You're not pressing it out
or anything like that. It'll some of the fat will
go off and you know it'll cook off. But if
you do them in the air fryer.
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
A meat loaf is good in the air fryer too,
because it gets you that crispy outside, but then the
inside stays nice. And moist. I couldn't think of an
alternative word fast enough.
Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
And I was just waiting because I know how much
you hate that word. So I was just like, Oh,
she's gonna have to say it. She's gonna have to
say it.
Speaker 6 (01:06:39):
I did have to say it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Oh, I hate that word. I hate that word. Oh
I wish I was this these people. So we talked
about Scotland. Let's go, let's go south, Let's go to Australia.
There was a couple in Melbourne, Melbourne who discovered they
forgot about a lottery ticket. Right, guess what. The lottery
(01:07:01):
ticket is a winner and it's worth over thirteen million dollars.
They held on, Uh, they've held on to one of
the four Division one winning entries from the over fifty
million dollars powerball drawing that was announced on September fourth.
They said, the wife said that that's insane. I'm in shock.
(01:07:27):
This is unbelievable. We had no idea, and this whole
time the ticket was just hanging on the fringe. Could
you imagine it's just hanging there.
Speaker 5 (01:07:37):
That's why I have lottery tickets that are sitting on
my dresser that you just.
Speaker 4 (01:07:41):
Checked something from the pirates. Yeah, that's a nice little surprise.
Speaker 5 (01:07:47):
Just got him win.
Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
No for these people just hanging on your refrigerator. That's
one thing about that's good about this time of year,
when the weather starts to get chilly, when you start
pulling out your coats and your hoodies. I love when
you stick your hand in the pocket and you pull
out like a twenty.
Speaker 5 (01:08:02):
I get exaedpen because I don't wear it coat.
Speaker 4 (01:08:07):
I get excited if I pull out like five bucks.
It's like, oh yeah, I remember that. How'd that get there? Yeah,
So check your pockets, folks. Or if you have a
lottery ticket laying around, or a fifty to fifty, make
sure you check those numbers too. You might be sitting
on a winner. You might be sitting on a winner.
Thirteen million dollars worth of a winner. Yikes. I would
(01:08:28):
take that in an instance. And here we go. Dorito's fans.
They're marking the last season of Stranger Things that show
lost my attention like four seasons ago. They're offering two
limited edition flavors, which will be the Stranger Pizza X
Cool Ranch along with Let's see here. The second one
is the Mini Glows, which is a dark Spicy sweet Chili.
(01:08:53):
So two new flavors for a limited time coming out
from Dorito's in celebration of the last season of Stranger Things.
Check those out. All right, let's do our winner ice cream.
We have twenty two entries. Otis twenty two.
Speaker 5 (01:09:11):
All right, hang on one second, and Jenerary is number eighteen,
number eight.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
Okay, we have Craig. Craig. I will be giving you
a call after the show. And that is Craig, not
Greg Craig, So Craig I will be giving you a
call after the show about getting your ice cream. Everybody,
have a good Thursday. We're on tap tonight, Otis. Get
out your fancy clothes. We'll talk to you tomorrow.
