Speaker 1 (00:01):
Ze number one touch show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news Radio eleven seventy WWVA starts.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Now the bloom Daddy Experience. He's seven oh six on
news Radio eleven seventy.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Good Monday morning to you. And I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
If you're a baseball fan, you should be excited. Well
at least if you're not a Pirates fan. I mean,
there's nothing to get excited about there. I'm talking about
if you're a Cleveland Guardians fan. American League Central Division champions,
the biggest comeback in the history of Major League Baseball.
I mean, this team was dead in the water fifteen
fifteen and a half games out, not that long ago.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Catches fire.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Of course, this comeback couldn't happen without the Detroit Tigers
absolute collapse. They still made the postseason as a wild card,
but nonetheless the collapse absolutely epic. I was at the
game yesterday in Cleveland. Brian Rochio and extra innings walks
it off with a home run. But the Central Division
was already sealed up earlier with the Tigers losing to
(01:12):
the Boston Red Sox. So the scenario is Tuesday Wednesday.
I believe the first pitch one ten at Progressive Field
in Cleveland, and if there is a game three, because
the wild Card is the best two out of three
and all three games are in Cleveland, I believe Game
three Thursday would be at about four h five or
four to ten. The reason I'm telling you this is
(01:32):
if you are a Guardians fan, or if you're just
a baseball fan, tickets should be pretty easy to come
by Tuesday Wednesday, because a one ten game doesn't exactly
fit into everybody's work schedule.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Also, Derek Scooble.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
On the mound for the Tigers, the best pitcher in
the world on Tuesday, and of course, his last outing
in Cleveland, he hit David Frye in the face with
a ninety nine mile prior fastball, and thankfully fry is okay.
But if you want to see some postseason baseball, you
want a great vibe Tuesday Wednesday, try to grab some
tickets and head on up to Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
I can tell you this.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
If you're downtown, a lot of great places to eat
everybody always asks me when they come to Cleveland City
tap really really cool Southern Tier, Harry Buffalo Corner rally,
all of them within a block of the ballfield. Very
easy to get.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
In and out.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
And I'll tell you what, it's an exciting team. I mean,
when you think about what this team is accomplished with
a lack of offense, it's truly unbelievable. But the starting pitching,
the bullpen, the timely hitting in the fielding has been
top notch in this game, or I should say this
team has done something truly historic. Gonna be tough to
(02:48):
beat the Tigers again. I mean, it's one thing to
own a team during the regular season. It's just a
totally different vibe in the postseason. Hopefully the Guardians can
do it. They can advance less the greatest comeback in.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
The history of Major League Baseball.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Turning to football, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers looking pretty
dag gone good. I thought they were gonna blow that
game to the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland. They hold on.
Aaron Rodgers is playing very very well. This thing's making
makes things very interesting. You take a look. I mean,
Cincinnati's without Joe Burrow, their defense is terrible. The Baltimore Ravens,
Now you've got Lamar Jackson with a hamstring issue, their
(03:27):
defense is terrible. And then you've got the Cleveland Browns,
whose defense is legit and their offense is absolutely terrible.
So the AFC North is there for the taking for
the Pittsburgh Steelers, and if Aaron Rodgers continues to play
at a high level, I don't see anybody within the
(03:49):
division that's gonna come close to sniffing them. Of course,
in the NFL, you never know, you never know what
can happen. But either way, sports pretty fun right now.
I mean college football, Pro football, Major League Baseball.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Oh. In college football, if you're a Penn State fan,
it sucks. I mean I was.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Trying to search for a word to say there, but ugh.
I mean, your guy just cannot win the big game.
Drew Aller, He's been there like sixteen years. He still
looks mediocre as hell.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Oh boy.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I mean, Penn State wants to think of themselves as
an elite program, but they're not. You gotta win big
games in order to be considered elite, and they have
not won a big game in decades, I mean decades.
The landscape is all over the place. Sam, you're gonna
call off Tuesday or Wednesday, go to Cleveland watch some baseball.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Well, if you have a ticket for me, I'd more
than happy do it. Wait, I'm waiting for that invitation.
I will be right there.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
So before we get into all that, let's just touch
on the Penn State thing. Okay, okay, James Franklin. Since
he's been at Penn State, he's one in fifteen versus
top five opponents. He's four and twenty one against top
ten opponents. He's fifteen and thirty against top twenty five opponents.
(05:16):
And he's four and seventeen versus Michigan in a highest state.
That's that is not that does not bode well for
your resume.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
No, and Blue Daddy mentioned Drew Aler, the quarterback. You
can't put fit.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
It's on him.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I mean no, it's Franklin. He chokes. He chokes.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
You know he wins games, but against average opponents. Yeah, yeah,
he beats teams he should be.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
If the moment is big, he chokes.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Well, there's been a I wouldn't say that he chokes.
I think there's just been some games that maybe the
ball didn't bounce his way in all like a turnover here.
You know, you can't predict a fumble, word, interception or
something where it results in the game winning score. You
see what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
You always know, you just know that when it is
a big moment for Penn State, they're going to come
off on the short end of the stick. You just
because it's happened so many times. You just know that his.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Record shows it, right. I mean, he's one in fifteen
against top five of pugs. So you know, I mean,
just take if you take half of those games, so
that's sixteen games, take half of them, that's eight and
just say, hey, they were in the game, but did
you know they either ran out of time, you know
what I mean, something, it just didn't go their way
that day. But you're still eight and eight. That's not
(06:41):
a that's not a good record.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
No, No, there was great games this weekend. I don't
care what sport we're talking about. That was great sports.
I didn't see any Oh yeah you went to the
WU game.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
I was in Morgantown Saturday. All I can tell you
was how did that end up? It ended when I
was my stepbrother's house before the end of the game. Yeah,
we left. I don't even know what time we left,
but it was we ran into. The funny thing was
we ran into some Utah fans that came through the
(07:14):
parking lot. Super nice. I mean, you know, they're like
they the one guy was like, I've never had a
pepperoni role, so we made sure he got a pepperoni role.
And you know, they were sampling some of the local
cuisine and they just were like cuisine. Yeah, they were like,
you know, it's it's this is this is a lot better.
We've heard horror stories about coming to Morgantown and it's
(07:35):
like that's what they are their stories because what happened
fifty years ago doesn't happen in Morgantown now, so or
even sixty years ago. You know there it's most of
the people there are very hospitable and they're going to
treat you right now. Come game time, they might throw
some insults at you or something like that, but just
you know, it's all in good fun. Hopefully then there
(07:58):
are a holes out there now well yeah, you know,
and that's everywhere. So anyway, it was other than other
than the game, it was a good time.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Other than the product on the field.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
It was great.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
It was great.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
No, it was a good it was a good sports weekend,
whether you're talking golf, you're talking football, college pros. I
mean last night's game Dallas Green Bay ended in a tie.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
The Ryder Cup, which was gonna be allegedly was going
to be a blowout. The US was down twelve five
into the final day and it came down to like
the last three, the last three matches before Europe actually
secured the win. I mean they were going to retain
the cup, but they actually get the win. It came
(08:45):
down to one of the last three matches.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
The US had a chance basically, yeah, And it.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Was funny because the announcers were going, so you're saying
there's a chance. So you're saying there's a chance.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Which there hasn't been a chance in a while. Correct,
I'm not a the golf follow up.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
I can't remember the last time the US won the
Ryder Cup, but.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
But this was it was a big deal that they even, yeah,
they were they had a great comeback.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
So and that was the only it was the only
time I got I didn't even get to see any
of the Ryder Cup other than yesterday, so I mean
I was like, yes, I finally got to see a
little bit of it.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
I didn't see any of it. Not one of my
go to.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Ryder Cups if you're not a golf fan, because it's
match play, the Ryder Cup can be interesting.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Oh really Yeah, a little bit more entertaining.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Because it's one on one, you know, and it doesn't
matter like you're you're about to win a hole. So
if you can lose a hole and still come back,
so you know, losing losing one hole doesn't mean you're
going to lose the whole thing. Yeah, you're never going
to shoot like an eight or double bogie or anything
like that. It's just either a win or lose.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Yeah, you're talking for no, I don't I know.
Speaker 6 (10:02):
Putt put.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Seven sixteen on this Monday, on this coffee day. Today
is coffee day. So get out there, go see our
friends at Community Coffee in bel Air to celebrate. There
you go, there you go. You like that little tie
in seven sixteen. You're listening to the Bloomdaddy Experience. Samon
Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA Welcome Back seven twenty
(10:33):
two The bloom Daddy Experience. Salmon Otis News Radio eleven
seventy WWVA. You know I can always rely on Otis
for for words of encouragement. Now you have me sitting
here all paranoid.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
Goodness, No, I had I try my best.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
My neck has been hurting for like a week and
now it's down into my shoulder blade and everything else.
Speaker 6 (10:55):
And he says, well, maybe you're having a heart attack.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, Happy Monday, Sam.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
You know positive reinforcement.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Mentioned on our Facebook page. We have a new chance
to win this week. So every day this week we
are going to be giving away a pair of tickets
to the fifth annual Resurrection Island Tattoo Convention, which happens
the weekend of October tenth. So it goes from the
tenth to the twelfth Friday, Saturday, and Sunday again. This
(11:24):
is the fifth annual. It's really cool whether you know,
whether you're into tattoos, you have any tattoos you want
to tato like, there's bands, there's all kinds of different
events going on over at that. So we're going to
have a pair of tickets for you to win this
morning and all weekend long. So that's going to be
coming up a little bit later in the show. I
(11:45):
want to get back to we're talking about sports a
little bit, a couple of things. Also to hit on
the Steelers, of course, they took down the Vikings twenty
four to twenty one in Dublin. Aaron Rodgers, as bloom
Daddy said, looked really good through for two hundred yards
and a touchdown. And Pittsburgh is now three and one
and will host the Browns after its by week, which
(12:09):
he's one hundred percent right. The AFC North is wide
open for the taking for somebody to be dominant, and
right now Steelers are the only ones that show any
signs of potential for that dominance. When you watched the
Browns yesterday, they were absolutely stamed. They were crushed by
(12:30):
Detroit thirty four to ten. Flacco threw from ton of
yards but two interceptions with no touchdowns, So you know,
the Joe Flacco experiment is nearing its end, hopefully for
a lot of Browns fans. The quinchn Jenkins scored a
touchdown for Cleveland and we are now one and three.
(12:51):
Next week we will be in London, we meeting the Browns,
will be in London facing the Vikings. So the Vikings
probably just hanging out Europe currently.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
And.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Yeah, yeah, maybe they'll go to Finland or wherever the
Vikings are actually from, right, Norway? What did I say Finland?
I knew it was one of those countries up there
where it's cold. Anyways, and then the Bengals play a
Monday night. It's actually a doubleheader, so the Jets visit
the Dolphins and then the Bengals square off against the
(13:26):
Broncos in Denver. Cincinnati is currently two and one, so
a little NFL recap there, and then, sticking along the
lines of football, the halftime show has been announced. Bad
Bunny Well headline the twenty six the twenty twenty six
(13:47):
Super Bowl halftime show. Does that mean anything to you?
Speaker 5 (13:51):
Absolutely not, Okay, I.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Can't even Oh my god, I can't even think of
anything that he sing right, it is a he?
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Right, I'm guessing at.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
Point in time, you never know.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
I've heard the name.
Speaker 6 (14:10):
I've heard the name.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
I've probably you've probably heard a song, but you you
probably just don't know who it is, right, you know,
I just you know, I can't figure it out.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
So he's okay. So this is a landmark moment for
the Puerto Rican superstar amid a monumental year where he
had the Billboard number one album and a historic thirty
one show residency in San Juan's Arena, elchchule. Truly, truly,
I don't know. So all right, I'll have to googling
(14:47):
while we're off.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
The air, because he's got a couple of songs with
no that's it. That's one. So he's got the song
with Drake with Daddy Yankee, and they're they're pretty much
Spanish songs. There's one called Moscow Mule.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Well, he's Puerto Rican hice stand.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
Oh, I'm just saying, I'm looking at what it's listed
in our category of Spanish CHR, which is contemporary hit radio.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
So the top the current.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Spanish rhythmic, Spanish rhythmic, Latin urban.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Okay, yeah, reggae reggaeton.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
That's a new one for me. Like it's either what's reggaeton?
Just reggae would be?
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Is it a mix of reggae and something else?
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Anyway? Congratulations bad bunny, yay. Anybody over the age of
thirty notes has no idea who you are.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Yay, So everybody, it'll be a good time to go
to the bathroom. Don't won't worry about missing anything. I'm yeah, yeah,
look anymore.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
The only thing worth watching during the Super Bowl was the.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Commercials, and those are getting.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
A little week two. Yeah, well they went woke for
so long.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
Well they went woke. And then it started to be
all of these different companies we you never even heard
of them before. It was like who is that? What
do they make? What do they sell? And you'd have
to stop and look to even like try and get
the joke, because if you don't know what the company is,
then you don't get the joke. It was like, here
(16:21):
is uh, here's the local.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Go back to the talking babies, yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Or the bud wise or the frogs. Yeah, go back
to the fun stuff. Everybody tries to be so serious
all the time.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
That is serious.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
So how is that's Theorious?
Speaker 4 (16:39):
That's not like a valley girl, it says Theorious. On
this Monday seven twenty eight, you're listening to the bloom
Daddy Experience. Sam i Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Welcome back to the bloom Daddy Experience. So I talked
about sports. Now I gotta talk about just bad stuff,
and I'm talking about all the shootings that we're seeing.
You have the church shooting over the weekend, you had
the ice shooting in Texas, which I told you after
the Charlie Kirk murder, you're going to see more rooftop shootings,
(17:15):
and you'll probably see one within one or two weeks.
And sure enough, we had a rooftop shooting in Dallas, Texas.
So the question is why are these individuals acting the
way they are. I'm going to liken it to what
we are seeing with Islamic militants, or I should say
Islamic ji hottis.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
It's the same kind.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Of brainwashing that we see with Islamic ji hottis who
think they are dying for a cause, they think they're martyrs.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
We're seeing the same thing with twenty year old white guys.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Now, this recent shooter I believe was forty forty one
years old. But if you take a look at the pattern,
it's a lot of young white guys who are getting radicalized.
How are they getting radicalized these echo chambers on social media?
I mean, these individuals for whatever reason start fostering hate.
They listen to all the political rhetoric out there, they
(18:07):
get brainwashed by this leftist ideology they get on social
media where it's just you know how it works. I mean,
whatever you watch on YouTube, think about it. You go
on YouTube right now and you.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Put in I don't know.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Marbles, like say, somebody who wants to I have no
idea what I just thought of marbles, But somebody who's
got an infatuation with Marbles, all of a sudden, it's
gonna be Marble video after Marble video after Marble video.
Or if you like watching chiropractic backcracks, it'll be backcrack
after backcrack after backcrack. So if you're twenty two years old,
(18:47):
feel disenchanted with the world, hate the world, hate conservatives,
hate whatever it is, and you start googling this stuff,
you start YouTube in this stuff, what are you gonna get?
You're gonna get video after video after video of hate.
It's these algorithms they're gonna keep on feeding it. And
(19:08):
these individuals get brainwashed and they listen to a lot
of political rhetoric out there, and they start thinking they're
fighting for a cause, they're saving the country.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
From fascists or Nazis.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Or you know whatever, all these different names that Trump's
called and conservatives are called, and the next thing you know,
they're climbing up on a roof and they're pulling a trigger.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
I mean, look, I'm no smarter than the next guy.
But this is easy to figure out. This isn't a
gun issue. You'll hear liberals, Oh it's a gun issue.
No it's not.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
We have been creating monsters in society through number one
terrible parenting, number two social media, and number three political rhetoric.
This is not hard to figure out why these monsters
are doing things that are unspeakable. So the question is
now what do you do about it? First and foremost,
(20:02):
you got to get into these algorithms.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
These social media companies have got.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
To be starting to They got to be held accountable
for what they're churning out. There's got to be some
sort of guidelines limitations on social media. Something's got to
be done, because that's the gasoline that's being tossed on
the fire. The other thing is the political rhetoric. Sad
part is it's never gonna stop. And the third thing
(20:27):
is we've just got to increase security. If a lone
wolf decides to do something, there's nothing you're gonna do
to stop it. If somebody here in the Ohio Valley
decides to climb on a building and start shooting random people,
You're not.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Gonna stop it. The only thing that's gonna stop it
is some luck.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
If somebody sees him going up to the rooftop of
the gun alerts authorities.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
But other than that, it's a very easy thing to do.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
But when it comes to bigger functions, when it comes
to outdoor events.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
You've got to have security on rooftops.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
You've got to start deploying drones, you've got to start
watching this. You've got to be proactive because these guys
aren't stupid. They see what works, they know what's easy,
and they know what kills, and they're going to take
full advantage of it. And I think you're going to
see less and less events, not only political events, but
less and less events being held outdoors. After nine to eleven,
(21:23):
everything changed, And I think after some more of these
events that we're seeing, we're going to see things change
some more. But otis sam As far as why are
these individuals doing what they're doing, I think it's very simple,
and I think at the very top of the list
is social media.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
We got to remember our brains are like a sponge,
and we just take on everything that we see, read here, experience,
and our youth, our younger people are being And how
is the quickest way to hate our country, to hate
(22:05):
the foundation.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Of our country?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
And what is the quickest way to get to reach
the most of those young adults and young people social media?
That is the quickest way to reach them. Why do
you think there has been such a fight to bring
control of TikTok into the United States because of who
(22:32):
is running it, who has control of the algorithms, who
has control of what is being fed into the minds
of American citizens, especially our youth. Our youth go to TikTok,
our youth go to Instagram. And I understand the argument
that social media also opens the doors for truth. I
(22:55):
completely understand that argument. But social media is the wild
wild West of information. And then you add on top
of that the direction of AI. In the visual growth
of AI, you can't tell the difference between what is
(23:17):
a real video what is a fake video unless you
look really really closely and you know what to look for.
So there's a huge influence. And if you look at
what has been happening, you know, yesterday in Michigan. This
is a scary stat Attacks on US churches since twenty
(23:39):
eighteen have rose by seven hundred and thirty percent on
US churches since twenty eighteen, so in seven years it
is jumped by over seven hundred percent. Attacks on US churches.
We have we have political rhetoric out there that is
villain i law enforcement, that is celebrating assassinations. We have
(24:06):
a superintendent that was arrested last week for a school
district and I believe Illinois who's an illegal immigrant. The
superintendent is an illegal immigrant, and the school board is
calling for support, radical support to keep him as the superintendent.
(24:28):
He's in this country illegally. So somewhere the switch has flipped.
And I don't know when it happened, why it happened,
but we villainize law enforcement. We celebrate murders. It's okay
to hang up dolls of our president or other officials
(24:53):
and put their hang them up by the throat, or
you put them under a guillotine and chop their heads off.
There has just become this direction of no accountability and
(25:13):
just anger and violence, and it just continues to grow
and continues to grow. And if you see statements about
what happened yesterday in Michigan. They're calling for gun control again,
gun control, gun control. He drove a vehicle into that church.
You're gonna call for vehicle control. He drove a vehicle
(25:35):
into that church and open fire. He did it, not
the gun, not the vehicle. He did it. The man
behind the wheel did it. It just continues to grow
and grow and grow. But we have to take a
(25:57):
step back people and breathe and act as the question
why and how is this happening? And we need to
stop making excuses for everything, and we need to stop
villainizing the people who are trying to get it under control. No, instead,
(26:18):
it's okay to open fire on them on ice agents.
It's disgusting. It's absolutely disgusting. Coming up again, we're gonna
have your chance to win. We have some new stuff
this week. We got a pair of tickets to Resurrection
Island Tattoo Convention, happening beginning October tenth through the twelfth.
We're gonna have that a little bit later in the show.
(26:39):
Seven forty five Coming up, have a little bit of
commentary on a new show I watched this weekend on
Netflix and why there's more behind certain decisions in that
show seven forty six. You're listening to The bloom Daddy Experience.
Sam and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. Welcome back,
(27:05):
seven point fifty one, The bloom Ditty Experience, Sam and
Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. So Otis, you don't
have Netflix, right, We've talked about this.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
You don't have to do that service. Okay.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
So there's a new show came out this weekend and
I saw that it was coming and I'm like, oh,
that looks like a good one. That's one I'm gonna
really enjoy watching. Okay, So started watching it Saturday night.
It's called The name of the show is called Wayward Now.
It stars Tony Collett, the actress, which may that name
(27:38):
may not be recognizable to you, but if you if
you look her up and you see her, you're definitely
going to recognize her. She's been in a ton of stuff.
One of the things she's most recognized for is a
show called The United States of Tara, where I believe
I never watched it, but she played somebody with multiple personalities.
(28:02):
So if that rings a bell to you, but if
you see her, you would definitely recognize her. So anyways,
I'd start watching this show and it's sort of like
a sort of like a psychological thriller, sort of true crime,
all kind of mixed up into one. And it's about
(28:22):
these two teenage girls from Canada and one gets shipped
off to this reform school in this very small town.
Tony Kollett's character heads this program this school. The other
friend goes to rescue her. It's all tied up into there.
(28:43):
But the hero character of this show is named Alex.
He and his wife moved to this small town. He's
a cop. She his wife went to this school.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
The whole.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
So they're bringing these characters and Alex looks like Macaulay Culkin,
looks like a pre pubescent little boy, has the haircut
of an eighties mom. And if you know what I'm
talking about, all you could, I mean, just envision the
helmet hair if you remember your mom in the eighties,
(29:23):
the helmet hair didn't move. Mcaulay Culkin looking, face, smooth
as a baby's bottom. Skin on the face. It's a woman,
all right, The actor actress.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
Is a woman.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
So sit here watching this show and they're using verbiage
like you know, he's my husband, and the wife is pregnant,
and I can't wait for my husband to be a father.
We're so lucky. It's a woman. This is a woman.
(29:57):
It was so hard to concentrate on the actual story
because of how ridiculous this was. It was ridiculous. This actress,
actor was trying to do all of these male mannerisms,
trying to be tough, you know, tough cop. It just
(30:20):
didn't work. It failed on so many levels, so many levels.
Not only could this person may is the name of
the actor, actress couldn't pull off being male, couldn't act period,
could n't act. The show other than that, not bad,
(30:42):
not bad, But it was such a It messed with
your mind so much. It was comical.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
At certain points it was comical.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
And then there was a scene and it was an
intimate scene. Take the shirt off and try to this
is a man covered in tattoos. It just it was
such a failure. It was so disturbing. But what this
goes back to, this is Hollywood, folks. This is the
culture war forced upon us by Hollywood. This is how
(31:19):
they slope play normalizing things like this, They filter it
into our entertainment. They make it a point that if
you're not going to be willing to talk about it
or experience firsthand in your own life, we're going to
(31:40):
force it upon you in entertainment. Now. I know there
are some people out there that are saying, just turn
it off, just turn it off, and I could have,
but I liked the story. I liked the story. It
wasn't great, it wasn't groundbreaking, it's not gonna win any awards,
but it was an entertaining story. But I go back
(32:01):
to it's not just about this one particular show. It's
about what Hollywood does. This is how they do it.
Can you think of a show or a reality show
where there is not some sort of alternative lifestyle character
(32:26):
within that show At this point, It's always there. It's
always there, and that's how they slow play. That's how
they This goes back to what I said earlier, your
mind is a sponge. This is how they make it acceptable.
They force it upon us, They force it upon us.
(32:50):
This just stood out because it was so glaringly.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Bad.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
It was just it was just as I said, this
person couldn't pull off a mail period, let alone act
themselves out of a paper bag. It was it was,
and again they take it to the place where this
is a tough cop that's going to figure out the
(33:19):
mystery and solve everything, who looks like Macaulay Culkan with
really bad tattoos. It's just again, it's just another way
where they constantly forced this upon us in our world
of entertainment. I would just like, at a certain point
(33:40):
in time to be able to just watch something where
there's not some sort of cultural agenda. I would like
to turn on award show where there's not some star
preaching about what we need to do is society and
where we're wrong and they're right, and you know, really,
(34:00):
take a look at Hollywood kids right now. One uh oh, shoot,
I can't think of her name. Three sons, all under
the age of like twelve. This actress has all beautiful
Megan Fox, her three sons, they're all trans Really that
statistically not even gonna happen, but they're going to force
(34:23):
it upon us. Seven fifty eight, you're listening to the
bloom Daddy Experience. Sam and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVADE.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Number one Tuck Show in the Ohio Valley. This is
the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His goal inform,
entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy Experience on
news radio eleven seventy. WWVA starts now.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
News Radio eleven seventy. It's the bloom Daddy Experience.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Hey, it's a six. Let's get this out. Good Monday
morning to you.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
And I'll tell you what. If you're a baseball fan,
you should be excited. Well at least if you're not
a Pirates fan. I mean, there's nothing to get excited
about there. I'm talking about if you're a Cleveland Guardians fan.
American League Central Division champions, the biggest comeback in the
history of Major League Baseball. I mean, this team was
dead in the water fifteen fifteen and a half games out,
(35:22):
not that long ago.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Catches fire.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Of course, this comeback couldn't happen without the Detroit Tigers
absolute collapse. They still made the postseason as a wild card,
but nonetheless the collapse absolutely epic. I was at the
game yesterday in Cleveland. Brian Rochio and extra innings walks
it off with a home run, but the Central Division
(35:44):
was already sealed up earlier with the Tigers losing to
the Boston Red Sox. So the scenario is Tuesday Wednesday.
I believe the first pitch one ten at Progressive Field
in Cleveland, and if there is a game three, because
the wild Card is the best two out of three
and all three games are in Cleveland, I believe Game
three Thursday would be at about four h five or
(36:05):
four to ten. The reason I'm telling you this is
if you are a Guardians fan, or if you're just
a baseball fan, tickets should be pretty easy to come
by Tuesday Wednesday, because a one ten game doesn't exactly
fit into everybody's work schedule. Also, Derek Scooble on the
mound for the Tigers, the best pitcher in the world,
(36:28):
on Tuesday, and of course, his last outing in Cleveland,
he hit David Fry in the face with a ninety
nine mile prior fastball, and thankfully Fry is okay. But
if you want to see some postseason baseball, you want
a great vibe Tuesday Wednesday, try to grab some tickets
and head on up to Cleveland. I can tell you this.
If you're downtown, a lot of great places to eat.
(36:49):
Everybody always asks me when they come to Cleveland City
tap really really cool Southern Tier, Harry Buffalo Corner rally,
all of them within a block of the ballfield. Very
easy to get in and out. And I'll tell you what,
it's an exciting team. I mean, when you think about
what this team is accomplished with a lack of offense, it's
(37:10):
truly unbelievable. But the starting pitching, the bullpen, the timely
hitting in the fielding has been top notch in this game,
or I should say this team has done something truly historic.
Gonna be tough to beat the Tigers again. I mean,
it's one thing to own a team during the regular season.
It's just a totally different vibe in the postseason. Hopefully
(37:32):
the Guardians can do it. They can advance, but nonetheless
the greatest comeback in the history of Major League Baseball.
Turning to football, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers looking pretty
dagone good. I thought they were gonna blow that game
to the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland. They hold on. Aaron
Rodgers is playing very very well. This thing's made mix
(37:53):
things very interesting. You take a look. I mean, Cincinnati's
without Joe Burrow, their defense is terrible. The Baltimore Ravens
now You've got Lamar Jackson with a hamstring issue, their
defense is terrible, and then you've got the Cleveland Browns,
whose defense is legit and their offense is absolutely terrible.
So the AFC North is there for the taking for
(38:17):
the Pittsburgh Steelers, And if Aaron Rodgers continues to play
at a high level, I don't see anybody within the
division that's going to come close to sniffing them. Of course,
in the NFL, you never know, you never know what
can happen. But either way, sports pretty fun right now.
I mean college football, Pro football, Major League Baseball.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
In college football, if you're a Penn State fan, it sucks.
I mean, I was trying to search for a word
to say there, but ugh. I mean, your guy just
cannot win the big game. Drew Aller, He's been there
like sixteen years. He still looks mediocre as hell.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Oh boy.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
I mean, Penn State wants to think of themselves as
an elite program, but they're not. You gotta win big
games in order to be considered elite, and they have
not won a big game in decades, I mean decades.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
The landscape is all over the place.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Sam, you're gonna call off Tuesday or Wednesday, go to
Cleveland watch some baseball.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Heck, I don't even think I need to call off.
I can do this job on the go. I mean
we could do a road show.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
I can't. I'm tied up this week.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Okay, Oh that's right, you are.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
I cannot get out of this even if I wanted to.
I mean I would have to be in the hospital
to get out of this.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
I'm just waiting on the invitation. I mean, I'm more
than happy to do this remotely.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
And no, you know what he always says. He always says, Hey,
anytime you want to come up to a Guardian's game,
or you want to come up to a Cavs game,
just let me know and I will get Then you
call him and he's like, oh, I can't get him
for today. I can't get him for this game. I
can't get him for that game. Well wait a minute,
no can't. He's just he's all tough, no action.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Well either way he is, right is it is exciting
what's happening with with the Guardians in baseball? And you
know it's that time of year. I mean, what are
we two days away from October?
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Right?
Speaker 5 (40:12):
Wednesday, Wednesday's October first, So I mean, I can't. Here's
the thing about, you know, the Major League Baseball playoffs
have expanded. Thank god, it's no longer just a one
game playoff for the wild card. It used to be
one game.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
So that's right, yes, I remember, you know, so you.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
Basically it was your best picture against their best picture,
and then it was one and done, and the best
team didn't always win. At least in the best of three,
you can you can maybe take your best picture and
saving for game. You want to win the first game.
It's all, you know, you always want to win game
one because now you're only one win away from goe
(40:50):
and it's better than having to win two in a row. So,
you know, it's just I like the best of three
a little better than the best of one. Best of
five is normally the best way to go because at
least that I think the better team is going to
prevail in the best of five. It doesn't always pan
out that way, but odds are statistically at will you know,
it's probably gonna happen seventy five percent of the time,
(41:12):
eighty percent of the time that in the best of five,
the better team's gonna move.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
But it's fun. I mean, it's a good story line.
Speaker 5 (41:22):
Yeah, the time you get playoff baseball. Uh, you know,
obviously it's been ten or twelve years since the Pirates
have been in the playoffs. Twenty twelve, I think maybe
thirteen was maybe the last time they were in and
they get they were a wild card, you know, but
not really they weren't really a player at that time.
Speaker 4 (41:44):
I mean, the things just fell their way.
Speaker 5 (41:47):
Yeah, good time. Yeah, sometimes you know, And but you know,
you look at like Milwaukee's got the best record in baseball,
or I think they get the best record in baseball.
They're the one seed, you know. I mean, so you
got the funny thing about the American League is you
have the division people in their own division playing each other.
(42:08):
So you got the Yankees and the Red Sox in
the in the wild card, so they're both they're out
of the American League East, and you've got the Guardians
and the Tigers out of the American League Central playing
to get on to the next round. So you know,
it's just like a division rivalry, get you know, it's
it's like the end of the season coming down to it,
you know, and it's It's one of my favorite times
(42:31):
of the year. I love playoff baseball, and unfortunately I'm
going to be sitting in meetings for Wednesday and Thursday,
you know, So it just that that part sucks, just
to be honest with you.
Speaker 6 (42:45):
Just bad time.
Speaker 5 (42:46):
Maybe a Tuesday night if I think there's some games
Tuesday night, if I'm not mistaken, so Tuesday night I
can maybe catching possibly.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
So yeah, there was a I mean it was a
huge sports weekend, just period.
Speaker 5 (43:00):
I mean, oh yeah, you had some great college football games. Yeah,
you know, I mean ended.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
Last night with a tie Dallas Green Bay.
Speaker 5 (43:08):
Yeah, I mean if you watched you know, I mean
obviously I'm a college football guy as opposed to the NFL.
But you know, you had you had NFL games yesterday.
I mean you had ye had. Yeah, it was all
day football because you're the Steelers on at nine thirty
in the morning and then at eight o'clock at night
kicked off the Cowboys and the Packers. So I mean
you had football NFL football for probably about sixteen hours yesterday.
(43:31):
And then you know what I watched was the Ryder
Cup most most of it, and uh.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
I guess the golf world's upset with the the heckling
that was going on by American fans.
Speaker 5 (43:44):
Yeah, just I mean, was it that bad? It was
a little uncalled for, well, was it?
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (43:48):
I mean, you know, show some respect. Yeah, you know,
be respectful of people, especially when they're on the tee
you're getting ready to take their shot. You know, you
can cheer and do whatever you want, but it's when
you're when you're when they're addressing the ball, then that's
when you give him the quiet.
Speaker 6 (44:05):
Golf is just a different atmosphere at times.
Speaker 5 (44:08):
It is.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
It's not a hockey rink, it's not a football field.
It's it's a difference.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
Well, and speaking of hockey, the Penguins they had Marc
Andre Fleury and goal for the preseason game against the
Columbus Blue Jackets, and you know, his send off to Pittsburgh,
his farewell to Pittsburgh.
Speaker 6 (44:23):
I should say, because of his retirement.
Speaker 5 (44:24):
Yeah, he retired at the end of last season, but
they signed him to a short term contract so he
could play in an exhibition game and basically say goodbye
to the fans of Pittsburgh.
Speaker 6 (44:33):
That's nice. That's nice. You always like to see that stuff.
Speaker 4 (44:36):
You know, what else is nice. We're gonna have your
chance to win here coming up very shortly. We have
a pair of tickets to Resurrection Island Tattoo Convention happening
at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack. That's a mouthful happening
October tenth through the twelfth. So we're gonna have that
coming up very shortly. It's eight sixteen. You're listening to
the bloom Daddy Experience Sam and Otis News Radio eleven seventy.
Speaker 3 (45:00):

he's so excited to see Bad Bunny at halftime.
Speaker 7 (45:25):
Wow? Is that? What is that what we have to
endure for halftime?
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Yes, that is the big announcement today. Bad Bunny is
the halftime act at the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (45:35):
Okay, that's one of your top that's one of your
top got him on your playlist on your spot? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (45:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
It's also National National Coffee Day. Oh, that's more up
your rally.
Speaker 7 (45:50):
Yeah, Black with Chickory.
Speaker 5 (45:52):
There you go. How many cups have we had today?
Speaker 7 (45:55):
I'm running on about three this morning, a lot.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
Okay, that's right, I'm on number four work right now.
Speaker 7 (46:01):
Okay, but I'll be having one here in just a
few minutes to be going backed up.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (46:06):
Hey, aren't you guys doing like a commercial or something
for us?
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (46:10):
Yeah, is it running currently?
Speaker 5 (46:12):
I believe so. About about hiring Strawb automatives. Yes, yes,
we are.
Speaker 7 (46:16):
Becoming part of our team. Yeah, you know, I mean,
you know, we always seeing the accolades, you know, of
everybody's performance here. You know, we talk about, you know
how the Honted stores, you know, are the fastest growing
Honda dealership you know right here in the state is
over at Mountaineer. How they're running number one and number
two every month, uh in the state with the Strawb
(46:36):
store here at the Highlands. You know, Hyundai number one
at CSI in the nation. Uh, Nissan number one frontier
dealer east of the Mississippi. And we've got so many
great things going for us, and those are so many
why buy here?
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Reasons?
Speaker 7 (46:52):
You know, reasons for you to do business here is
because you're you know, you're doing it with people who
care you're doing with people who care about your business,
you know, and for people who are striving to be
the best. And that's another reason why, you know, maybe
you should consider coming to work for us. Okay, we've
got some openings right now, you know, body shop. Our
body shops are growing left and right. Okay, they're doing
(47:14):
a great job making people happy, getting their cars back
on the road and straightened out. You know, we've got
some openings in the body shop. We've got a couple
of openings and sales. You can, you know, join a
sales team that is number one right here in the
valley selling more cars and trucks new and news than

(47:38):

we've got openings, you know, log on to our website.

put your application in right there. Our HR department will
get back with you and it's a great place.
Speaker 5 (47:51):
To work there, you have it.
Speaker 7 (47:54):
I had to put a lot in this morning.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
You did quite well done, though you got at all.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
It was at all off the cuff or do you
have it written in front of you.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
No, ma'am.
Speaker 7 (48:04):
I heard a long time ago with you guys riding
so up and down. It's the worst thing you can do. Okay,
because who as I write it down, you guys all
go off track, and I'm like, I just throw it away. Yeah,
it was just off the cuff every morning, no script,
no script, none, nothing scripted. So okay, anyway, you'll have
(48:24):
a great day. You do the same, all right, talk
to you tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Sounds good. There he goes right out the window, right
out the window. But he is right. I mean, I've
never had a bad experience at Strab. No service department,
sales department. Never had a bad experience.
Speaker 4 (48:42):
I've never heard anybody say anything.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
I can say that I have purchased my last five vehicles.
I think through STRAB we.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
Got my my husband's vehicle there, two of.
Speaker 5 (48:53):
Those before we even knew who Kevin Cook was. Oh yeah,
I mean they go way back. I mean you're talking.
I think I bought my minivan. No, I bought a
Nissan Frontier when Strab was still in Bethlehem.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Oh, on the on the turn right there, Yeah, so oh,
that was a long time ago.
Speaker 5 (49:18):
Yeah, I want to say like two thousand and nine,
maybe two thousand and somewhere between two thousand and seven
and eight nine, somewhere in that area. And then I
bought a Dodge Journey off of them, and then I
went to the Jeeps.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
Because when did they build the Highlands? Because Straub was
one of the first up in that vicinity.
Speaker 5 (49:39):
So they consolidated a lot of their.
Speaker 4 (49:42):
Locations because they had the Downtown.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
Way, Downtown, they had Bethlehem, you know, so.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
Yeah, the downtown one.
Speaker 6 (49:49):
Yeah. Man, that gotta feel old.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
I am not old.
Speaker 6 (49:55):
That's not nice.
Speaker 4 (49:57):
That's not naice at all.
Speaker 6 (50:00):
Seem what I put up with.
Speaker 4 (50:01):
It's all the time.
Speaker 5 (50:03):
It just doesn't That's all right, because I'm older than you.
So what's that making mean? That's true. It makes me ancient,
that's true.
Speaker 4 (50:11):
That's true. The president's busy again. Yeah, there's plenty going on,
but he's actually told his administration to declassify any federal
records pertaining to Amelia Earhart. Of course, hopefully those listening
know who Amelia Earhart is. The famed pilot and her
navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in nineteen
(50:34):
thirty seven. They vanished as they flew toward Holland Island
during her attempt to become the first female aviator to
fly around the world. It's not clear what, if any,
classified documents the government may have on Airhart, but Trump's
push to declassify these records follows his decision to release
(50:56):
records on these nineteen sixties eras of the assassinations of
Martin Luther King Junior and JFK and Robert F.
Speaker 6 (51:05):
Kennedy.
Speaker 4 (51:06):
His administration is also under pressure to release records on
the infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. I don't know, did
you think they have anything, I mean, at this point
in time on any of them? Yeah, on Epstein, I believe.
Speaker 5 (51:27):
They do well. And here's the other thing. Everybody's saying, oh,
release it because Trump's names. You don't think the Democrats
were released it if his name was in there, I
mean common sense.
Speaker 4 (51:37):
Because they sound on it for ever in two or
three years.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
And you know, you might find something out in the
JFK and Bobby Kennedy was the mob behind it and
the other there's probably some investigations. And Emilia Earhart was
she a spy. That's the thing, you know, Like was
she flying around the world to get information on like
Japan and stuff at the time. Yeah, so you I mean,
(52:02):
I can I can see where something could come out.
I mean, I don't know if it's going to be
groundbreaking mountain, but I mean it's good. It may not
be something that you know, you didn't already know, or
at least you didn't already speculate.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
And it's amazing how quickly the the theories or the speculation.
I mean, there's already speculation about Charlie Kirk and everything else.
So it's just so quick they do all of that.
Eight twenty eight, we're gonna do it. Your chance to win.
Let's do the pair of tickets to Resurrection Island Tattoo
Convention again. This is happening the weekend of October tenth
(52:35):
through the twelfth. This will get you in the doors
and get to experience everything those days on one of
those days. Yeah, experience what is going on to The
tickets are flexible for you, So let's do caller number ten.
Caller number ten one eight hundred six two four eleven
seventy caller number ten. You're listening to the bloom Daddy experience.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Welcome back to the bloom Daddy experience. So I talked
about sports, Now I got to talk about just bad stuff,
and I'm talking about all the shootings that we're seeing.
You have the church shooting over the weekend, you had
the ice shooting in Texas, which I told you after
the Charlie Kirk murder, you're going to see more rooftop
shootings and you'll probably see one within one or two weeks.
(53:21):
And sure enough, we had a rooftop shooting in Dallas, Texas.
So the question is why are these individuals acting the
way they are. I'm going to liken it to what
we are seeing with Islamic militants, or I should say
Islamic gi hottis.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
It's the same kind.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
Of brainwashing that we see with Islamic gi hottis who
think they are dying for a cause, they think they're martyrs.
We're seeing the same thing with twenty year old white guys. Now,
this recent shooter I believe was forty forty one years old.
But if you take a look at the pattern, it's
a lot of young white guys who are getting radicalized.
(53:59):
How are they getting radicalized? These echo chambers on social media.
I mean, these individuals, for whatever reason, start fostering hate.
They listen to all the political rhetoric out there, they
get brainwashed by this leftist ideology they get on social
media where it's just you know how it works. I mean,
whatever you watch on YouTube, think about it. You go
(54:21):
on YouTube right now and you put.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
In I don't know.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
Marbles, like say, somebody who wants to I have no
idea what I just thought of marbles, But somebody who's
got an infatuation with marbles, all of a sudden, it's
going to be Marble video after Marble video after Marble video,
or if you like watching chiropractic backcracks, it'll be backcrack
after backcrack after backcrack. So if you're twenty two years old,
(54:51):
feel disenchanted with the world, hate the world, hate conservatives,
hate whatever it is, and you start googling this stuff,
you start YouTube and this stuff, what.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
Are you gonna get.
Speaker 2 (55:04):
You're gonna get video after video after video of hate.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
It's these algorithms. They're gonna keep on feeding it.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
And these individuals get brainwashed and they listen to a
lot of political rhetoric out there, and they start thinking
they're fighting for a cause, they're saving the country from
fascists or Nazis or you know whatever, all these different
names that Trump's called and conservatives are called. And the
next thing you know, they're climbing up on a roof
and they're pulling a trigger. I mean, look, I'm no
(55:34):
smarter than the next guy. But this is easy to
figure out. This isn't a gun issue. You'll hear liberals,
Oh it's a gun issue.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
No it's not.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
We have been creating monsters in society through number one
terrible parenting, number two social media, and number three political rhetoric.
This is not hard to figure out why these monsters
are doing things that are unspeakable. So the question is, now,
what do you do about it? First and foremost, you
(56:06):
got to get into these algorithms. These social media companies
have got to be starting to They got to be
held accountable for what they're churning out. There's got to
be some sort of guidelines limitations on social media. Something's
got to be done, because that's the gasoline that's being
tossed on the fire. The other thing is the political rhetoric.
(56:27):
Sad part is it's never gonna stop. And the third
thing is we've just got to increase security.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
If a lone wolf.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Decides to do something, there's nothing you're gonna do to
stop it. If somebody here in the Ohio Valley decides
to climb on a building and start shooting random people,
you're not gonna stop it. The only thing that's gonna
stop it is some luck. If somebody sees him going
up to the rooftop of the gun alerts authorities. But
other than that, it's a very easy thing to do.
But when it comes to bigger functions, when it comes
(56:56):
to outdoor events, you've got to have security on rooftops.
You've got to start deploying drones. You've got to start
watching this. You've got to be proactive because these guys
aren't stupid. They see what works, they know what's easy,
and they know what kills, and they're going to take
full advantage of it. And I think you're going to
(57:19):
see less and less events, not only political events, but
less and less events being held outdoors. After nine to eleven,
everything changed, And I think after some more of these
events that we're seeing, we're going to see things change
some more. But otis Sam as far as why are
these individuals doing what they're doing, I think it's very
(57:40):
simple and I think at the very top of the
list is social media.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Otis. Doesn't it feel like the American way of life
or the American standards are being chipped away at slowly
by outside forces? Am I am? I being dramatic?
Speaker 5 (58:05):
Well, it's kind of hard to tell. I mean, in
all honesty, I mean, you don't know who's who's behind everything, right,
so you know, it could be inside, it could be outside,
you know, between AI and between you know, fake accounts
and everything else. You just don't know anymore. And you know,
(58:26):
I mean you look at things like believe Daddy was
talking about how you're not going to have outdoor events
anymore because of the attempt at assassinations or the assassinations.
You know, when JFK got shot, there wasn't a president
that rode in an open, open air car. When the
Pope got shot, it changed. So you know, sometimes horrific
(58:50):
events spark change in the in the past. Like so,
what's happened? I think Barack Obama did it, I think
Trump did it was during the after the inauguration, they
get out of the car and they walked down down
Pennsylvania Avenue or whatever the quote unquote parade route was
(59:12):
and you saw that, which was kind of unheard of.
But you know, they also want to be seen and
not just be stuck in a bulletproof limousine.
Speaker 4 (59:24):
And when it comes down to it, and we've said
this before, Evil's going to find a way.
Speaker 5 (59:28):
Sure.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
I mean, we learned from past mistakes, like you said,
you know, the potemobiles created. You know, we learned from
past mistakes. But they they unfortunately, they find they find
a way. I think what happened yesterday in Michigan, it's
really sad that now in the United States people have
(59:53):
to be worrisome about going to church. Think about that,
going to church, people have to be worried about violence
here in the United States of America.
Speaker 5 (01:00:09):
I know of some churches that have armed security. I
mean you may not realize it, but there are people
that are attending the services that are that are packing.
You know, they've got their guns, they're concealed, and they
are wired up, you know, with headsets and communication and
(01:00:30):
everything else that if something were to go wrong then
you know, I mean they look like junior Secret Service.
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
But that's where we've gotten to I mean, our schools
and our churches are now being attacked, and school shootings
have been happening, you know, but we just continue to
see this increase in increase and increase. Christian churches since
twenty eighteen, the attacks on them have rosed over seven
(01:00:58):
hundred percent since twenty eight Think about that, since twenty eighteen,
churches have been attacked. We have got to stop villainizing folks.
We have got to stop the terminology, the labeling. Our
(01:01:21):
officers are being shot. We have a post this morning
about the Democrat Socialist whatever their group is called. They're
putting on a platform a woman who killed a cop,
a cop killer. They're celebrating that. They're celebrating that and
demonizing officers, demonizing ice officers shooting at them. Somehow, somewhere
(01:01:49):
we have flipped where common sense and supporting and uplifting
those who are out there to protect us day in
and day out, who you know, put their lives on
the line. We have now villainized these people. And there
are certain factions politically they don't care, they're okay with it.
(01:02:14):
We've gotten to that point, and it's ugly. It's ugly,
but I think also, Americans are tired of lip service.
We're tired of hearing everybody needs to do you know,
everybody needs to stop being We have to stop political violence.
We have to stop you know, using the terminology not okay, fine,
that's great, everybody can say it, but who's actually putting
(01:02:35):
action behind any of it. That's what Americans want to
see action. I think we're seeing it a little bit. Chicago.
President was, you know, sending troops in this weekend, Seattle
going in this weekend. So we are starting to see action,
but then we're gonna see more violence because of that action.
(01:02:59):
It's eight forty you're listening to The bloom Daddy Experience
salmon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. Welcome back to
eight fifty one, The bloom Daddy Experience salmon Otis News Radio,

Speaker 5 (01:03:46):

it was.
Speaker 4 (01:03:48):
The way it was made was spec remember what what
he called it. It was in that special jar percolater thing.
It says. The first known references to brew rude coffee
came from Yemen in the fifteenth century. It would not
be introduced in America into the until the mid seventeenth century.
(01:04:09):
Coffee or tea. We could all be British drinking tea
every day and celebrity birthdays out there. Gotta give a
happy birthday to Bryant Gumbel if you remember that name,
seventy seven years old today.
Speaker 6 (01:04:24):
Along with Hm.
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
I'm not even gonna try to impersonate him. Andrew Dice
clay Is sixty eight years old comedian actor and then
also Ian McShane eighty three years old actor. You would
definitely recognize his face if you saw him. He was
in Dead One on HBO. If you're a fan of Westerns,
he was in that show. And I have found otis
(01:04:49):
what we can get bloom Daddy for Christmas.
Speaker 5 (01:04:52):
I'm not getting him anything. I got him something last year.
He stiffed me.
Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
Well. Hitting the auction block today will be Linda Carter's
signature Wonder Woman costume goes on the auction her costume
goes on the Oh, shut up costume costume costume goes
on the auction block today. All right, mister wordman, make
(01:05:19):
fun of Mike costume. Marion Webster is adding five thousand
new words to the Collegiate Dictionary. Some of those include
tell me if you've ever even heard these words before,
doom scroll, I've not heard that one, dumb phone, Yes,
(01:05:40):
I've heard I've heard that one. W dash f dash
eight h no no. The publisher announced this week it
was revising and reimagining its twelfth edition, a full twenty
two years after its last update. Other words include colebre well, okay.
Speaker 5 (01:06:01):
Are these words are phrases? I think five?
Speaker 4 (01:06:05):
It says five thousand new words so cold brew, riz
our eyes, eazy dad, bawd, hard pass, and cancel culture.
Oh thank goodness for that one. The company is also
including curated words list, including words from the nineties and
words for things that often go unnamed. So thank you,
(01:06:30):
Miriam Webster. Doom scroll, I've never heard of doom scroll.
Speaker 5 (01:06:33):
I think I've heard of it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
Is that the trance that you get in where you
just scroll, you just you.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
Just scroll through everything. That's like native so what we were.
Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
Talking about earlier, and you just keep going and going
and going.
Speaker 6 (01:06:52):
Yeah, and this is disturbing.
Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
You laughed at this. I find this disturbed.
Speaker 5 (01:06:57):
Well, I just I just said I didn't necessarily see
anything wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
Okay, cat, people close your ears, plug your ears. There
was a teacher at in Alvard High School in North
Texas has issued an apology to students for feeding a
kitten to the snake kept in her classroom. This teacher
fed a kitten to a snake. The district investigated the
(01:07:23):
unnamed advanced animal science teacher after social media posts online
indicated it had happened in front of the students. God,
according to district officials, that is not the case. They
say it happened outside of school hours, and the teacher
has apologized to her students. The kitten was one of
several sick kittens brought to the classroom, all of all
(01:07:48):
of which who have since died.
Speaker 5 (01:07:52):
So they were already sick. They were probably gonna die anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Okay, yes, I understand that, but that's a long, drawn out,
torturous death for something that's already sick.
Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
How do you know it's long and drawn edge quick?
They suffocate him? Done?
Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
No, they don't. They swallow them and they stay in
there for hours.
Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
And are they they normally they normally squeeze the life
out of them first and then they eat them.
Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
Okay, squeezing the life out of something isn't quick.
Speaker 5 (01:08:25):
Well it's it's not hours. I mean you're probably talking
like maybe a minute to two minutes.
Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
Really, Oh god, all right, fine.
Speaker 6 (01:08:33):
I thought it was cold and callous.
Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
Personally, although I'm the person who like refused to dissect
a frog in biology class, and when they brought out
the baby shark, I was, now, I hear the baby
shark song.
Speaker 5 (01:08:55):
No you feed rat?
Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
That's a rat? Okay, So maybe I have a double
standard for cute and furry animals compared.
Speaker 6 (01:09:07):
To a rat. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
I just that's just shouldn't be in a classroom, shouldn't.
Speaker 6 (01:09:15):
Be going on in a classroom.
Speaker 4 (01:09:18):
And here's a bit of it.
Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
It happened after hours, so it didn't happen in front
of the students.
Speaker 6 (01:09:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
It just it's just cold to me.
Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
That's just cold and callous to if it's a dying
animal anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
Okay, fine, fine, fine, fine. And then finally, just a
bit of a warning. Medical experts are warning people, thanks
once again to a social media trend, don't tape your
mouth shuts at night while you sleep, because this trend
(01:09:54):
claims that it improved sleep and reduces snoring. But that's
not the case. Studies behind mouth tape are small, the
benefits are modest, and the potential risks are there. Those
risks include worsening sleep disorders like sleep apnea are causing suffocation.
While nose breathing is preferable to mouth breathing, doctors say
(01:10:15):
mouth taping isn't the solution. Put the duct tape away.
Do not keep that on your side table unless you
use it for extracurricular activities. Not taping your mouth. I
just shocked. Now, who's disturbed? Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Shoot?
Speaker 6 (01:10:44):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
On that note, On that note, don't take your medical
advice from TikTok basically or us. Have a good Monday, everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:10:55):
We'll talk to you tomorrow.
