Welcome into the BTP. We used to be in a
weekly podcast. We are no longer, but we are back
here this week covering Week seven into Week A. Dave
Berger and AJ monsour our very own creative director, Dan
Meyer out he is in Arizona. We may he may
call in. I don't know, Aj, but we do have
(02:27):
another guest, another co host, a guest co host. What
Dan would say his favorite guest of the season. It's
chicken Wing, Mister Mike told Mike AJ, how you guys doing.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Hey, guys, thanks for having me always pleasure to join
the pod.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Good good stuff. Good to be back. It took an
off week what we call it the bye week in
the biz, right, you know, mid mid season bye week,
take break for the pod.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
We've reached that we've reached that point in the podcast
where we need bye weeks. We need breaks.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
We started two weeks late, start two weeks late, and
then two weeks later.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
We need to buy just one, just one by week
for you aj this season, because.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
We'll see wow. Shots fire right out of the gate.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
You don't know this, but I was the one who
lobbied to get you on as a full time host's
co host for this episode, and we're off to a
rough start so far. Shots fired right out of the gate.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
You know, listen, I'm just trying to live up to
this hype that they created on the last No Right
cast when evidently you and I have got to have
beef with each.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Other, right, it feels like they're putting a little pressure
on us that we have to live up.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I'm just a character actor. I just show up and
do what I'm told.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
We heard that in the opening spot. That's right.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Lots to get to, including your budding rivalry. But obviously
we have some games to break down. I'm a genius.
I'm a genius. We will get to that, some trades
potentially in the works. There's been a lot lot of
chatter back and forth. The thread has been wild, and
we've got a really special guest too. I kind of
(04:06):
want to bring in pretty quickly here, but before I do,
and I want to, I want to get his take,
But let's let's keep things simple for right now. I
just want to.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I just want to.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
You know, you heard Nate in the open talk about
it's the Vikings year to win the Super Bowl? Well
I thought that at one point. And I don't know
how to cheer for this team. Can we just take
two minutes to talk about Minnesota Vikings football for a second.
I don't know. Are we a team that is in contention?
Are we a team in rebuilding mode? Are we a
team that's supposed to say we're we're ready to win now?
(04:35):
Is it is this Carson Wentz's season? Is this?
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Are we are?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Are we waiting for JJ? Is JJ going to get
any time here? Or we're told that now he's going
to get the start on Thursday against the Chargers. Help
me just navigate what I'm supposed to do as a
fan as it relates to the twenty twenty four Vikings.
Does anybody have a thought, AJ you're plugging into this team?
What like I think we're all waiting for? Like, what's
your take on that squad right now?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well, I think that I think that we're gonna have
to just wait and see what we have with a
young quarterback. I think that that's the win this year.
I don't think. I mean we're off to start with
this division where the Lions, after a slow first week,
are rocking and rolling. The Bears are they got four
(05:22):
wins the four wins in a row or something like that,
and then uh what got the Bears? The Packers obviously
are a pretty solid team as well, maybe not as
good as we thought the first couple weeks of the season,
but at the same time, they're a dangerous team when
they put things together, they they're probably gonna be. There're
probably gonna be three playoff teams in this division, and
I want to find a way for it to be
(05:43):
the Vikings and not the Bears. But right now I'm
not seeing the consistency that we need to see from there.
So it might just be we got to pull the trigger,
see what JJ can do and give him an opportunity to,
you know, work through some of those lumps that he's
you know, the growing pains as they call it. Cold.
Do you have any different opinion?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I think you're probably pretty accurate. In terms of the assessment,
I think, just without sounding like too much of a
fair weather fan, I sort of feel like the by
default position that most fans have right now is that
this is not going to be our season, and I
think that it's not impossible for us to recover, but
(06:26):
it's got to happen pretty much this week or next,
and it's pretty much got to be solid for the
rest of the season. Otherwise we're just done so rebuilding.
If JJ pulls went out of his hat, then yeah,
we can all hope on a prayer, but I think
we got to be realistic about the chances of that
happening are slim, and if it doesn't happen this week,
(06:47):
then slim goes to none pretty quickly.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
It's so strange this year. I mean, and maybe I
was listening to the wrong experts, but I or maybe
I was drinking purple kool aid, but I was sort
of kind of getting excited for this year, thinking, hey, this,
and I understand what injury can really make it, you know,
make or break things. And it sounds like that's kind
of what we have with JJ McCarthy. Just can't find
the field right now with injuries. But maybe I was
listening to the wrong people. And maybe the consensus among
(07:10):
the experts was, hey, we're probably a third or fourth
place team, fine, but I was sort of like, hey,
we could make a run double digit wins, Like this
team is ready to go, this defense is playoff ready,
tons of weapons on offense, and it just for whatever reason,
just is not materializing offensively defense. It's just nothing looks right.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
So I don't think I don't think you were listening
to the wrong people. I don't think that. I mean
I heard once in a generation talent bandied about regarding
JJ going into the season, and I thought, wow, like
that's that's quite some praise. And then you watched him
in that first game, and as much as it, I mean,
(07:49):
let's be honest, the first two quarters of that game,
three quarters of that game, you were really kind of like,
this guy looks like a deer in headlights. And then
all of a sudden things just kind of started to happen,
and it's like, holy crap, like this is looking like
it's trending towards Minneapolis miracle level comeback. And then it
(08:09):
did in fact turn into that. But then by the
next game we were left with like what's going on here,
And so I think to some extent, for JJ in particular,
the injury might potentially be saving his reputation a little bit.
But I think he needs some real work to become
(08:30):
the weapon that we were convinced that he was supposed
to be. I think he's a little baked going into
the season.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
That's right, Ah, just frustrating.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
The trouble is And with the frustrating part is all
the other quarterbacks that went in that draft are starting
to look decent. You know, We've seen Jackson Dart get
in there with a pretty bad Giants team and at
least show flashes of maybe not being a good quality
quarterback yet, but that he can play at this level.
And now we're just sitting here with JJ, who already
(09:02):
has missed a year. He's already been surpassed by some
of those that were in that class right off the
bat and got to play the rookie year. And now
we're just sitting here again with another injury, just trying
to figure out what it is. And that's the frustrating part.
And at the end of the day, I think we
can mostly all agree that I think it's just gonna
be a frustrating season.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, I think that's where it's going. I think it
really is where it's going, which is really too bad
because you have some of those guys on the squad
that like you want to sort of you know, they're
at the very twilight end of their career, whether it's
Harrison or you know, Adam Thielen. But then you think
about guys like Justin Jefferson who are in their prime,
and it's like, please, don't be another Adrian Peterson situation
where you have a generational talent and you can't put
(09:39):
the right people around him. Just like, please, can we
figure this out in this window that we have with him.
I know the next our next guest will have plenty
of opinions, and I want to bring you in pretty quickly.
Here he started off three and seven, and then two
weeks ago on this very podcast, Yours Truly, the co
host Dave Bergeran went boldly where no one else would
(10:01):
go and and I pulled a you aj right, I
pulled a you right where you in some ways right
where I mean it was two years ago where you
looked at Greg, Greg's done, and Greg went off and
ultimately from that point on ran the table and won
it all. I looked at I looked at this lambell
(10:21):
Leaper roster two weeks ago at three and seven, and
I said, mm hmmm, don't look away. Don't go to
bed on them. Well I shouldn't, that's not the right
way to phrase that. But don't sleep on the leaps.
I said, don't sleep on the leaps. And now they
made a movie out of it, a made for TV movie.
(10:42):
It's on Lifetime Channel this Halloween. I want to bring
in our very own chaplain of the league, Nate gustus
In from the lambel Leapers. Give it up for Nate ay.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Man. I didn't know Lifetime was doing Horror Flix's real
brand for them. That's a rebrand all all day. Goodness gracious,
oh yeah, great to be here.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah, thanks for joining us. We have lots to get
to you with you, but I do want to start
off with just what is your reaction to the movie
coming out about your team. We all thought you were
dead at three and Steven, I think you thought you
were dead and look at where you are.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yeah, yeah, it truly is a resurrection story, one for
the one for the ages, and you know it's just
a biblical proportions. It's it's so great to have a
you know, a couple of wins under my belt and
to see the guys really showing up all together. And
(11:41):
I mean the win against Norman, like the last second,
getting those those few points at the end, and that
it both put me over to the win and won
the Packer game at the same time. Like there's something
special when like it's your running back from your team
also helping the Packers win, you know, So there's some
(12:01):
synergy there that was that was pretty sweet. And yeah,
I think the real horror flick of the season though,
is the Vikings. Let's just be honest, like, I just
feel like that's the scary the scary thing out there.
I know I heard you guys chatta a little bit,
and it's just like I just feel for you guys,
(12:22):
Like I've been out here every week saying they're gonna
win the super Bowl and they're just not listening to me.
So maybe you need to get on Maybe you need
to be on the pod saying it instead of me
and and no, because like like that that's clearly right right,
it's me. I'm pulling you guys down right now with
all my energy going in the wrong direction. So yeah,
(12:44):
I think I think here's the thing, guys. Let just
take it from a franchise that's had three amazing quarterbacks
in a row, just like, give McCarthy a second. Just
just give them a second. Jordan Love sucked for like
solid half of that season, and then he and then
he's figured it out. And and he's not a Rogers.
(13:09):
Not no, I said, he's not Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
But but honestly, you said, I said, yet.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
No, No, he's I fully believe. I fully believe he's
heading that direction. And if you look at Rogers early
on in his career compared to what's happening in Jordan Love,
their trajectories are crazy similar. So just just give it
another you know, give it another year. You're going to
see some uh some good stuff there. So take that
(13:36):
for what you will. But you guys got to have
some patience with mister McCarthy. Generational talent. I think that's hilarious,
but let's just give him a.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
That was my.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Like, that was that was other sportscasters. I'm just repeating
what I heard, but that being said, I've got him
on my roster right now. So I mean I'm I'm
probably the most patient person with JJ McCarthy on the
block right now because he's just dead wait on my roster.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
It's a unique situation and the scenario you laid out, Nate,
there's one part you left out, And it's easy to
be patient when your quarterback is waiting in the wings
behind two future Hall of famers, you know, the first
time around with FIREV and Rogers waiting, and then with
Rogers and I love waiting. Our guy is learning from
(14:28):
a journeyman quarterback who played FCS college football and through
the two most horrible interceptions I think I've ever seen
to start the game last week in Carson Wentz. So
patience is tough to come by when you dig yourself
a fourteen to nothing hole every single week, and that's
kind of what we've been doing last couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
So yeah, I'm more patients, Like it could take him
a good half year to get there. Sure, do you
know what I'm saying, Like, that's more what I'm thinking.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
But Kim O'Connell, who himself was the QBS, so yeah
he is. I mean, he's got more than just WinCE
his wisdom to.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Quit O'Connell did for Daniel Jones.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Yeah, look at Daniel Jones.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Also.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Okay, so can we get to the real news here?
Are you gonna make the announcement?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Let's get to the real break it for us.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
The real news is I have taken on a co owner.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
I just feel like prime and content and content competent.
A tense can't be the only one that has has
a two headed monster at the top. And so I've
officially turned uh inspirational leadership over to Todave Bergan and
(15:49):
and then Kristen is really the one pulling the strings
underneath the table. But we she's a silent partner that
we're not going to talk about. So, but yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
That's the person. That's the first time anybody described their
wife as a silent partner. But anyway, so you're saying
it's so you're saying it's a three headed monster. Is
that what you're saying?
Speaker 4 (16:07):
No, no, silent. We we take credit for anything good
she does. Oh okay, that's that's what's for years.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
It's like a ghost writer. She's the ghost manager.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah, yes, yes, yes, we'll go with it.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
So, So, Dave, how does it? Yeah, how are you
feeling about this marriage of greatness.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
You know, I love that you.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
And me, not me and my wife.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I I love that you describe me as an inspirational leader.
You know, you have league chaplains, right, and they're more
biblically based, and I'm more of like I'm a spiritual advisor.
Or maybe I'm just I'm an inspirational motivational speaker, which is,
you know, which is about an inch deep theologically. But
(16:57):
I'll take it. You know what. I I may retire
the rowdy uh franchise and joined the Leapers, but as
I look at your roster, and I said this two
weeks ago, Nate, who doesn't want to cheer for the squad?
I mean, who doesn't who's not enamored with this squad?
I'm I think I'm more of a fan. No, you
know what I am. I will say right now, I'm
more of a fan of your team, and I am
a by team. Jalen, You're you're running back, so ridiculous, Okay,
(17:20):
a chan Jacob's Henry and Jalen Warren is exploding. Okay,
so you're four deep? All right? You talk about three
headed monsters, this is a four headed monster. I wouldn't
call your wife a monster, by the way, And then
and then you know, I just Devanta Adams now sits
on by, but he went crazy last week. I mean,
just somebody's going off every week. Lad mcconkey's heating up.
(17:43):
George Pickens has had a career year, and your your
next great quarterback. Jordan Love leads the way. And oh,
by the way, Dak Prescott's at an MVP level. So
it's just like up and down this roster. It's super dangerous,
and it's just why nobody believed, at least I certainly
didn't believe. I was a believer since the beginning, but
(18:03):
you started even doubting yourself, and I decided to pick
you up. You were like you were I was there
was I was the good Samaritan. Right you were beaten.
Other people were walking by, like like the Normans walked by,
and like they walked to the other side of the
the Normans saw you beaten the dead ditch. Right then
the wings walked by and they're like, oh, they picked
up their skirts and walked by. And I, as the
(18:24):
good Samaritan, I pulled you out of the ditch and said,
let me heal you. Let me bring you back to
my hotel. Is that what it was? I don't know.
That's the message. Yeah, regardless, you a message.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Do you know the level that you're on, David? Like,
do you understand like and the fact that you put
yourself as a Samaritan and me as the Jew and
the Vikings and the Packers, and how God's love is
overcoming and drawing us together where there was division and
now you're on the leaps and I'm pulling for the
Vikings to win the Super Bowl. I mean, like, what
(18:56):
is happening?
Speaker 1 (18:57):
I don't know. We're growing and it only took twenty
years to get to.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
This point, all that training. Dave brings up a good
point though, and maybe you can talk us through the
first handful of weeks then, Nate, what you know? You
look at the roster and it is really solid. What
happened in those first handful of weeks was somebody underperforming,
was somebody injured? To start? Like, what let the team
get to a three and seven start?
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Well, I mean I lost one game by like two
or three points. I scored in the one thirties. I
scored one thirty just in the median that week was
one thirty one or one thirty two. So didn't one
of the two of you have the same thing where
you like lost to the median by like a very
smart mark. So it was just like the mean was
(19:43):
so high that week, So taking two losses that week
was a was a beat down. And then I think, yeah,
early early on, it just wasn't coming together. So it
was more of the matchups and then the media and
that were you know, you get one bad week and
you get negative two points, like that sucks.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Yeah, it is frustrating. It was week four you scored
one hundred and thirty. I'm sorry, Week five I just
had it. Shoot. Yeah, Week five you had one hundred
and thirty point forty five and the median that week
was one thirty five, which maybe brings up another point here.
There have been some I feel like maybe I'm wrong here,
some crazy scoring weeks just across the board. Nate. The
(20:29):
other week you and I played and you posted like
one seventy one, seventy one seventy nine, a one seventy nine,
really pulling the median up like crazy. Are it feels
like again maybe the offense is just kind of striking.
I know that the NFL has been pushing offense, and
the rules have changed and all that, but the median,
the year that we employ the median scoring is the
(20:52):
year that there are Well, yeah, I still don't think
the vote passed. I think it just kind of happened
all of a sudden, right. It's it's kind of a
crazy year though, because I feel like there's a lot
of players that are going crazy, and then there's a
lot of players that are we thought we're going to
do good that are just pulling up zeros.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Well, and here's the crazy thing is I somehow ended
up with a thirty dollars charge on my PayPal account.
So I think Dave somehow has access to my bank
account information. Did we like give that to him and
we didn't know this? But I got charged thirty dollars?
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Did I pay my league dues though? From Yeah, okay,
I there's too many. I need we need a if
we need an accountant, we have a CPA on the
in the league. I don't know, does he's still part
of the league. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
The backlog is call up the sheriff from the from
the movie. I think we got a different job for
him to do.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Don't blink, don't run.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Boy. Oh man, I U Nate, you were the best.
I do want to say that I play you this week, terrified.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
What are we looking at?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Well, you know, since we haven't, we could probably just
bring it up, but.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
But yeah, let's talk about it. Let's get into it,
all right.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I got it here presently. Okay, rosters are not locked,
but they're set. No, there's no zeros is what I
mean by that? There's no zeros in the This is
a big bye week, by the way, lots of good
teams on buying.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
By by keepers.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
The Leapers are a fifty eight percent favorite, with a
one twenty two projected score to one fourteen over on
the rowdy side.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Now I do, I do. I do have some trade
offers currently in my inbox.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Oh oh, change, what are we talking about here? You
want you want to open up a vane here? What
are we looking at?
Speaker 4 (22:48):
I mean, I truffles. You know he's being intentional. I
said on the thread, I'm looking for receivers. I got
lots of quarterbacks to deal. I mean, I got four
quarterbacks going over twenty every week right now. It's kind
of crazy. So I'm just I'm ready, and I don't
know if Yeah, I'm just looking at him right now.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
The tough part is while you look at those and
you can assess whether or not it's worth it, the
tough part is I'm not saying that our rosters are
the same, because clearly our records are not the same,
but they are structured pretty similarly. Where I also have
pretty solid running backs and not the strongest wide receivers,
so I didn't I didn't have a ton in the
(23:29):
realm of wide receivers to offer, so I try to
get a little creative. We'll see. I mean, I'm not
super confident in the offers I sent to you, but
we'll see.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, yeah, I hope there's some movement here too. I've
been looking for a wide receiver three. I just I
don't know, man. I two weeks ago, I had Trey
Tucker zero targets, you know, zero points, whatever it was.
Last week I had, I had threw lad macconn no
not load. I threw Luke McCaffrey in there, thinking that,
you know, he's the number one in Washington. He got
(24:00):
two targets, zero catches.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
He's on the wire, right, He's on the wire.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Now I now it's booty booty, booty boot you have
you know, now I'm working the booty bit and I
just buying for a wide receiver. Three.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
We just all want to know, are you keeping your
eye on your own bobber? Because can we just talk
about that for a second.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Let's talk about that, because.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I mean Norman Norman just like, wow, that keep your
eye on your own bobber? Right, It was like, there's
a lot of layers to that statement.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Yeah, well there's a lot of there's a lot of
layers to Norman is straight into the text thread. So
you want to talk about that? I mean, boy, that
was you really got a quick twitch that that that
that gift to the thread as fast as you possibly can.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Well, And it's a dangerous proposition too, because I've sent
gifts attached with a message before, depending on I don't
know if it's the service I have or whether I'm
sending to an iPhone or an Android. Sometimes it puts
the message before the GIF right. Other times it puts
the GIF before the message. So I think you lucked
out in the sense that you know, you you know,
(25:14):
you're playing forty chess over there, and you just knew
that it was going to come in ab rather than.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Be a imagine imagine if it's just some fuego Norman
is straight, imagine the well, imagine the possibility.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
I mean, yeah, it would it would have been. It
would have been a whole different conversation. I just you know,
I feel like the Lord, the'll only spirit put a
word on my heart for him, and you know, yeah,
there was.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
I mean, let's get into it because Mike's here as well,
and I the thread's been heating up. I know that
we've got a lot of tabs open right now between
trade offers and Nate and our matchup, and I know
we've got a lot going on. But the thread was
awesome the last couple of days, especially the last you know,
maybe day or two, but the whole Jamison it. You know,
where we're doing gifts of jameson because he ended up
putting a zero up in that game. Would love to
(26:06):
get Mike's reaction on that. Just just hilarity across the
board on the thread. Guys are loving it.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
You really did put all your hope in Jamison Williams.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
There, honestly, Well, I mean I didn't really have any
other options and if you, well, if you go back
and look at my my weekly situation, the guys that
were on my bench, I mean, it's frustrating because if
I had started people that did not make sense to start,
like Amika was injured and was not slotted to do well,
(26:40):
and juant one winning how do you say it, uh,
Juan winning one winnings. Anyways, I think I think either
of those guys I would have I would have won
if I had just put them in, And neither of
(27:03):
them going into the week made any sense to start,
because Juan was just getting off of being injured and
had put up a goose egg and then one point
and he still underperformed, but five points would have gotten
me to win. Amika wasn't even supposed to play, and
then he did and he underperformed, but he put up
(27:24):
almost eight points and he would have got me to win.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
So I'm thinking about the biggest gaff, which I don't
it's not your fault because we've all watched the Minesota
Vikings defense, but Saquon Barkley putting up a four point
week again Vikings in.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Some of the stats that I had my guys put
up last week were just I mean, like you just look,
there was a certain point in on Sunday where my
team went from very clearly looking like I was going
to lose to very clearly looking like I was going
to win, and then it all went downhill. And so
(28:02):
it was a roller coaster ride that I did not
enjoy at any point. And whatever, you know, it is.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
What it is.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
How many shots did you actually drink? That's shots?
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I had zero?
Speaker 4 (28:17):
And then Foss pulls out that apparently he's dead. Guys,
pee Wee's dead.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
I didn't know. I didn't catch the dead know that.
I didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
I mean, I I just knew that that guy got
I just knew that that guy got arrested for like
indecent exposure at one pointedly alleged, Yeah, allegedly. Oh my gosh,
it is great.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Right now, it's been a minute too at your funeral.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Do you want me to talk about all the things
you did in the dorm room?
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Dave?
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
Let's you know, I'm making a record.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
And then I'm going to tell my wife when you
get up to talk, that's gonna just start playing in
the background.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
So can can we take a trip down memory lane
for a second and can I just gave some contexts?
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Can I?
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Can? I I'm gonna give you some context for Jason's
little bit, because I don't know if everyone really understands
how ridiculous this was. So back when I'm dating Kristen
and uh, we were on AOL instant messenger. Yes, folks,
this is how we used to talk. And so yeah,
(29:36):
I genuinely have no idea, but I'll have to dig
that up. But so I'm messaging well, uh, and then
my uh, Kristen's best friend Lindsey starts talking to Jason
over AOL and and then they kind of start to
like each other, like to the point where he actually
(29:57):
went down to Texas with me once and like spend
weekend with Lindsay. I mean it got serious. Oh yeah
at one point. At one point, we're all AOL messaging
and Jason is convinced that Lindsay and Kristen go ice
fishing in Texas like that it's one of their favorite
(30:17):
things to do.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Like it.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Jason's a smart dude, Like he's a smart guy, Like
he is leading Lee is leading in a very big
company and our I mean, what what what happened?
Speaker 1 (30:31):
This is what women do to us. This is what.
This is what college hormones and women.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
They make us.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
They make us crazy.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
It doesn't go anywhere shocking, but you know that worked out.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
For him ice fishing in Texas.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
That is so good. All right, we're gonna we got
to take a quick break. On the other side, we
have lots to get to. I want to ask Nate
and Mike who actually is the league chaplain, because you
can make a case or either one of those guys
right now. I want to that. I want to get
to some of these other matchups. But first we have
a quick word from one of our sponsors. When your
(31:09):
connor is broken, when your scary Terry Dall is sold out,
and when you're stroud, just isn't that loud? It's time
to check out the all new toy taking leagues by
storm introducing fur balls.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Mike growls when it's hungry, mind sings, Taylor Swift when
I sneeze.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
They're cute, they're furry, they fit in your pocket, and
best of all, they come in over thirty different personalities,
from sleepy to silly to mildly mysterious. You never know
which fur ball you'll get, will it burp? Giggle? Or
have chronic and continance. Buy the whole set and get
one for every kid in the family. And that's a
lot of kids. Furballs the only toy that fits in
(31:52):
your hand, your heart, but mostly in the consolation bracket.
Get them before they scurry away, and thank you to
fur Balls, the new toy of the new official toy
of the Big Ten Fantasy Football League. We're talking about
the thread. We're talking about that little gaff by the
(32:12):
way where I said we are all fur balls. I
meant to say football, and it became a thing, and
I and you know what I left it. I left
I wanted to edit it, but I can't because of
Nate's phone, of course, and so it just said to
live out there in perpetuity. But speaking of the thread,
Nate's our league chaplain and has been for many, many years,
(32:32):
and we appreciate his counsel.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
But I would I would.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
You could make a case that Chicken Wing Mike Toll
does more faith and sports intersection content than our league chaplain. Mike.
We appreciate your It doesn't get a whole lot of engagement,
but we appreciate your the moments where you post about
(32:58):
the faith driven men of the NFL.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Listen, when I'm on social media, I'm trying to better
myself and better others. And if I see content that
has to do with guys in the NFL doing something
that is overtly faith based and frankly I think meant
to inspire, then I think that I'm doing myself and
(33:21):
others a disservice if I'm not sharing that with other
men of faith that I respect, who I think will
be you know, I think they'll be edified by it,
and I think it's it's worth Like I always think
of it like this, if one of you guys shows
that to one of your kids and he shares that
with some kid at school, and that kid grows in
(33:42):
their faith because of that job, well done.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Yeah, thank you for doing my kids.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
Also also also another reason why I think Chicken Wing
might be our new chaplain is I just I feel
like he keeps you accountable, Dave. You know, mister health
of the league. You know he's calling you out for
how you single him out, and I think there might
be some truth there. I'd love to hear from, not you, Dave,
(34:17):
I'd like to hear from our other hosts here. Do
you think there's some truth there about how he singles
out chicken wing. Uh, yeah, what are your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (34:27):
I think that it's very true. You know, there's believers.
We're called to call it the we'll call it the sin.
I don't want to call it sin necessarily. We're you know,
hold hold each other accountable. Some of the actions that
you have taken have been sins. But at the same time,
I think that you know, when we are here and
we have.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
We called him in this league, guys gates, Dave go
and as for his gates, every night, ill.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Have gated and fall short.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Now, now, if if Eve will just download the app
from Triple X Church, it will help him with his gates.
Do you remember that, Dave, that accountability software that always
scared you.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Yeah, So I need to because I talking about I'm
talking about lawyer, We're talking about layers. Eve is going
to set up his Triple X Church to send his
email update to Kristen each week, So forget about sending
it to Sandra, because because I mean, you guys are
(35:32):
you guys are intermingling the teams now, so he's gonna
have to make sure that Kristen knows what's going on. Yep,
she can pass the information.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Shots shots shot shot shots over here?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Needs the chicken wing accountable? After that?
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Who should hold? Right?
Speaker 2 (35:53):
Now?
Speaker 1 (35:54):
This is a mess?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Where's Dan?
Speaker 1 (35:58):
It is? It is so great to talk to you guys,
and it is it is such a fun league. It's
it's heating up, it's getting crazy. This is the midwek part.
This is the midwek part of the season. So this
is really where you get to go. All right? Am
I a higher? Am I a seller? Am I in
this or not? You know? I think one of the
reasons I know, well, we'll get to you aj.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
You know. One of the reasons Dan I think flew
to Arizona this week is because he just scored one
of the seasons certainly the season's lowest output. But I
want to say, well, we'll have to what our stat
our next gen stat team on it, AJ, because last
time somebody scored sixty four points in the Big ten
Fantasy Football league in our scoring system, Wow, I mean
sixty four points. Like the minute that came through, Dan
(36:39):
grabbed his wife, got on a plane and flew to Arizona, said,
can't do the pod see a nice week?
Speaker 4 (36:44):
So it's uh, I am afraid for his mental health
right now, Like, is that the lowest ever?
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Well, everybody else went over one hundred, right, So I
mean that's you have. You have nine teams out of
ten going well over one hundred, and then one team
it's sixty four. Like there's bad weeks and then there's
just really really bad week. So it just nothing. Nothing
happened well for him. So we'll see if he can
get off the schneid here. But but ag, maybe you
take us through a couple of these quick, quick matchups
(37:15):
and let's just let us kind of quick twitch react
to them.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Yeah, let me sorry, I'm on a different tab. I
see a seventy five posted by Airballs in a week
ten of last year. I will I'll do some research.
But let me get back to our match ups for
this week. We already talked about Rowdy's and Lambeau Leapers.
Let's jump into that. We mentioned Airballs. I'm sorry, We're
going to jump in Airballs matchup Airballs and Storm and Norman.
Airballs having a struggling season similar to the one that
(37:41):
I'm seeing right now, but a little bit better. Five
and nine on this season, Norman comes in second place
in the league at ten and four. Let me scour
these these lineups real quick. I think we have some
that are some zero's still in there for some by situations.
It is a tough bye week. I know we mentioned
it kind of in passing, but there's some some big
teams to the point where I think people are genuinely
(38:03):
scouring the waiver wire to find anybody who can catch
a football to put them in, specifically at a wide
receiver spot since we're three wide receivers deep. So we're
seeing that in this matchup here with the Airballs still
trying to replace Gibbs right now currently though, I think
it's a heavy favorite for Norman. Does anybody see this
thing going the other way even when Airballs updates his roster.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
I mean, it's the Jonathan Taylor show right now, isn't it.
I Mean, the Colts are just that offense is clicking
in so many different ways, and obviously Jonathan Taylor is
a big piece of that. Jalen Hurts AJ Brown starting
to heat up if that continues to be a thing.
I mean, Norman's just got such a solid squad here,
But you're right, people are literally going to the scrap
heap of the waiver wire and pulling just randos off
(38:46):
the heap and inserting them right into the starting lineup.
I'm not the only one, so this is going to
be bipossible for sure. Yes, that's essentially what you're doing.
So I love I think this is a great match.
I mean, boy, did Greg need the two wins that
he got last week. He got them and sort of
pulled himself out of the last place a little bit,
(39:07):
which is helpful. But he's you know, he's starting Carson
Wentz and Joe Flacco right Like. Who would have thought
that those would have been two quarterbacks that even had
jobs a couple months ago, and now they're starting quarterbacks
for various teams and they're starting line on they're in
a starting line of our fantas football team. So I
don't like Greg's chances with how that's book ended right now.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah, speaking of the scrap heap, let's pop over to
the Truffle Shuffle matchup taking on Prime incompetence presently the
number one seed, but you want to see scrap heap.
Look at the quarterbacks in this matchup between the two teams.
We are starting Michael Pennix, cam or Caleb Williams and
Spencer Rattler as the fourth quarterbacks right now, incompetence has
(39:49):
a zero for Alma and Ross Saint Brown, and they
went to the waiver wire. They're looking at a four
point projection from Hollywood Brown or a six point projection
let's call it seven point projection from Christian Kirk. We're
digging deep in this one right now. Truffle is projected
to win this match up one hundred and twelve. Let's
call it one hundred and twelve to one hundred and nine.
Will Truffle get off the schneid this week? Well, Truffle,
(40:15):
come on, guys, give me something, give me something. Let
me before I want to hear from Nate Mike. I
want to hear from Nate Mike, but before we talk.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Okay, So I don't like to give other teams advice
live on the podcast for other people to listen to it.
Like I'm just looking, I'm just looking at and look
and this just like goes against everything that's that's even
intelligent to do. When the guy's at the top of
the league. But like he has two empty i R slots,
he's got guys that are out or at.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Least what what what?
Speaker 1 (40:45):
What?
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Whoa whoa?
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Like he needs to he needs to pick somebody needs
to pick somebody up, is what it boils down to,
Like this is just basic, Like I'm not giving any
real advice here. This is just like team management, like
like fill your slots and make this competitive. Here's my boss.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
The reason he's called incontinence. I mean, come on, yeah, yeah, But.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Like Dave has been, Dave has been a firm proponent
of this in years past, and I happen to agree.
I want every single week, every single team to have
the best possible team lined up. And if there's guys
that are on the waiver wire that should have been
picked up because your roster has guys that are out
(41:30):
and you're not managing your ir or you're not managing
like you've got guys that are on buy and you're
not feeling those slots, Like, shame on you. And I'm
not trying to point the finger. I'm just saying the
reality is everybody needs to have a solid roster each
week to the best of their ability. There might be
a scenario.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Where you see, we have a new budding rivalry.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
Is right now, I feel like this is extremely pastoral Okay.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
I mean it's reform church, but it's M But I
think there's a new Brenning rivalry here. Prime and told, okay,
let's mix it up. Uh yes, I just I want
to AJ Nate. I hear what you're saying. I definitely
hear what you're saying. I do want to turn over
to a J squad here for a second and actually
hear from AJ and AJ. Hashtag b DJ was a
(42:21):
theme on draft night. We all rallied around, we all
put our hands in the middle and we said one,
two three, beat AJ. You weren't a part of that though, AJ,
you sat on the side. But he was he was
doing He was right, he was was a bala. But
and and we we said it in jest. We know
you're a perennial power AJ. In this we mean all
(42:41):
with all due respect, you're you're an absolute You're you're
an incredible fantasy ball player. We all know this with
locker room access. But our goal was to really try
to pull you down. And now what have we It's
topsy turvy. Up is down, dogs are cugging cats, and
Prime is first and your last. I don't don't know
how you're taking this.
Speaker 4 (43:03):
I'm pulling for the Vikings. You're pulling for the Packers.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
I mean, I'm a leaper. I mean I don't always
going on.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
We are all for balls the I don't know what's
going on. Last year, I walked out of the draft
feeling like I got hosed, like I made some really
bad decisions, and I ended up winning the championship that year.
This year, I walked out feeling pretty good, feeling coy,
maybe even about some of the moves that I had made,
(43:30):
the players that I had waited for, the stacks that
I had gotten, and it just has not panned out.
Like you, sometimes you hit and sometimes you swing and miss,
and I feel like all I've done is swing and
miss and been, you know, stacked on some injuries. And
I'm not blaming it on the injuries here, but when
you everyone has injuries, but when you have injuries that
(43:51):
you stack on top of your swings and misses, it hurts,
and it adds up real quickly. And when you have
a league four that wasn't officially voted on that you're
not comfortable playing with, and it adds a new element
you get behind real quick, and there's there's an opportunity
also to get back real quick, like we've seen with
(44:13):
Nate Nate had Nate was three and seven and then
rattled off a couple of good weeks and now he's
in the playoffs, so it's not over. But at the
same time, like I'm I'm looking at a roster right
now that doesn't have a whole lot of opportunities to
make meaningful trades. I'm looking at some injuries that I
(44:33):
just can't shake. You know, Brock Purty who can't get healthy,
And how George Kittle comes back and he posts a zero.
You know, we've been waiting all years. He came out,
got off to a great start in that first week,
and then he got injured, and we've been waiting ever since.
It's just man like, I need a break, I need
something to break my way, and I feel like i
(44:54):
I've also we haven't even talked about this yet. I'm
who you know, who're gonna count stuff owns, mint stones,
whatever the min's words here. I've also been scored against
the most points against in the entire league so far
this year.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Really, I have not worked at that real.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
Last three weeks. I think that the teams I've played
have averaged something like one hundred and sixty eight points,
like insane. And I'm not saying that I my team
did anything to like earn those wins that week, but
it was an opportunity for me to get maybe one
point that week. But I went up against Nate when
he scored the most points that he's he's ever scored
(45:32):
this season. I went up against I didn't know who
was last week, but they scored the most points air balls,
I think it was. You know, these these teams that
are are not bad teams, but they're not one hundred
and eighty point teams, and they're putting up one hundred
and eighty point weeks. And so again I've got excuses
for days here trying to make I'm just trying to
make sense of it. And that's almost frustrating.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Part No, it is frushing aging. And yeah, you mentioned
guys that are hurt, that can't get that can't see
the field, and then your big money guys, the ashingenties,
the Brian Thomas juniors of the world just aren't have
nothing's materialized there. So thoughts and prayers, you know, we
of course we feel for you. I know you you
you say you want things to print, kind of break
your way. Yeah, you know, three titles in six years. Yeah,
(46:14):
we really were. Our hearts are broken. Of course.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
I've got a big time breaking news. Uh oh no,
a trade has not gone down, first live trade.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
You have a breaking new sounder? Hold on, do we
have a breaking new sounder? Here? Can you put in a.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Little nailed it there?
Speaker 1 (46:31):
It was.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
I've been digging into the annals of this league trying
to find the lowest score. It was what was a
sixty seven point week?
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Who was that?
Speaker 2 (46:40):
Was that this week? Sixty seven? Sixty eight points?
Speaker 4 (46:43):
Sixty four?
Speaker 2 (46:44):
I thought it was sixty four sixty four. Okay, we're
still safe. We're still safe because I found a fifty
two point one point week.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Let's get let's guess. Let's go back.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
To week seven of the twenty twenty two seasons, so
we didn't have to go back super far.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Which teams? Which team? Let's play a little game. Which
team scored fifty two points in week seven in twenty
twenty two?
Speaker 4 (47:05):
Mm hmm, okay, which which team name? Because I'm guessing
it's incompetent.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
Maybe that's it. It's not which person, it's which team name?
Speaker 2 (47:16):
And I can't remember which team name it was rus
Onto something there will change the rules. You are correct.
What was the team name?
Speaker 1 (47:23):
We will remember, I'll guess the guest.
Speaker 4 (47:30):
It was.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
Sauchi'suchi's posted a fifty two point week. Let's let's look
at this light up. Let's not fifty two. How do
you get fifty two points? You get a zero from
Russell Wilson? You your quarterback? I don't know if that
was an injury, like a pregame injury. What happened there?
You get six?
Speaker 3 (47:49):
Yeah, guys on by two?
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Yeah, you get it from Michael Pittman, A one from
DK metcalf a six and nine, a point five from
Kenyan Drake. Uh. He took a zero from Josh Palmer.
Latavius Murray he was on buy but somehow scored nine
point three points. How does that work?
Speaker 1 (48:10):
I missed I miss this team. I missed that what
they used to be like. I missed this squad?
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Look at them? Now? Are you are you on the page? Mic?
Are you seeing this?
Speaker 3 (48:20):
I loaded it?
Speaker 2 (48:21):
Tavious Murray was on a bye but scored nine point
three points.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
Yeah, of course with one runs it's.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
Very fall right.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
Anyways, fifty two points this is pre Prime days. No
it isn't. No, wait, it might have been pre Prime
Prime is listed. I think it was Prime Prime is
listed as an owner. I'm looking at it right now,
goal manager, but I don't know if I don't know
if they have from.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
The current Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that was.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
A one in thirteen season.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
Yikes, I miss them. I missed that squad. It's so
topsy turvy. Let's get to our next match up here
as we wrap.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Oh shoot, sorry, I went way off the radar there.
We did this one. We didn't do this one. Chicken Wing.
Chicken Wing takes on the hooligans, the West Side Hooligans,
presently scanning the room of the rosters. Okay, we've got
a tight end on a bye for Dan right now,
so that'll change a little bit. But a fourteen point
edge for Chicken Wing Toll Lamar Jackson. Talk me through
(49:21):
what you're feeling with Lamar Jackson and.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
How Yeah, it's a very soft like it's my my
my padding is fake. There's there's no fourteen point padding
it It is a it is a wish and a
prayer that Lamar will play. You know, first practice of
this week they worked him into the mix, and basically
(49:48):
coaches have said it's hard to put a number on
whether or not he's even gonna be there. So he's
got two more opportunities this week before they basically post
their injury designations on Friday afternoon, and I thinking it's
pretty unlikely that he's going to play, but who knows,
and reality is is I need him to play. I
know if he doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
We talk about we talked about helping other managers on
this podcast. You're gonna pickle because your only other quarterback
is JJ McCarthy, who plays tomorrow night. So you talk
about two practices for Lamar Jackson, but you don't even
have the luxury of maybe one practice to really see
if he gets a full, go, full participant in tomorrow's practice.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
Yep. Yeah, so super fun, Well, good.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
Luck, good luck in that game.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
Ceedee Lamb back though, is super cool for you and
for the Wings. Obviously he came back, you know, in
full strength and played great last week. So Ceedee Lamb
back with the Wings, that's huge for you. But of
course we are all who this week, we want to
make sure that our our co host Dan Meyer is
is you know, when he wins, he's a he's a
(50:56):
he's a better podcast producer. So we are all who.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
Let's see, Dave is exactly one win ahead of me
in the league right now, and Dan is two behind Dave.
So Dave saying that we're all who is not only
Dave just sticking it to me. He's also just trying
to do what's best for his own team. Usual it's
(51:25):
never help of the league is synonymous with Dave's team
doing well.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
I think we might have uncovered something here. We maybe
superficially inflated the Chicken truffle rivalry. Chicken tried to get
into another fight with another owner during this podcast today.
We know that he has a rivalry with you, Dave.
We know that he has a rivalry Dan. We look
(51:50):
back at a bunch of different I think that there's
the trend is just Chicken is rivalries with everybody in
the league. I think that's what we're overlooking here.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Yeah, I mean is that this is true?
Speaker 4 (52:03):
I'm seeing it now.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
Podcast has come alive. This is my opportunity and my
outlets to spend a few months with you guys, and
the best way to do that is to stroke out
a little drama, and and so you say that that's
not the way to say. I mean, guys, to the
clean all things are clean, to the pure pure, and
(52:25):
Dave needs that it needs to go confess another gate. Now,
So that being said, I would say, yeah, I mean,
I'm not here to create intrigue for no reason, but
I mean, when there's an opportunity to create a little
drama just to have fun, why not.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
Now are do you stroke your football?
Speaker 1 (52:46):
I don't know that year.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
I don't know, so I don't know how to answer
that question.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
But these are the finalists for lee chaplain, these two
right here talking about this exact thing. So here we go.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
It's a toy, Dave, Dave, what are you thinking?
Speaker 3 (53:07):
I don't know where this is where the YouTube clickbait
guys do those wacky images of like me and Nate
in like orange jumpsuits with numbers in front of both
of our faces.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
There you go, there you go. I'm gonna get the
reins back here and we're gonna go to our final matchup.
But the matchup of the week is what they call it.
Ten and four being counter is our third place team
up against the five and nine at ninth place. Past
the fur Balls. Right now, it's say one oh nine
to one oh eight projection separated by less than one
point in favor of the being Counters. You look at
(53:39):
these two rosters right here, you see some players on
the left side of this column. I guess I don't
know if it's left side for everybody, it's left side
for me, being counters. Drake May playing out of his mind,
Devanta Smith had a crazy week last week. Rashie Rice
two touchdowns in his return, Christian McCaffrey. You see a
lot of players who are putting up a lot of points.
And then you look over on the other side right now,
(53:59):
and you a lot of players for the football who
put up points early in the season Xavier Worthyes, A Flowers,
Michael Pittman that have kind of slowed their pace a
little bit. But but the matchups may be the key,
the individual matchups for who these players are playing this week,
the teams and the defenses that they're playing. Because right now,
again it's a less than one point projection difference between
(54:22):
these two teams.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
That's a really good point. Broncos Dallas has a chance
for some scoring bazillion points and football or fur ball
however you want to pronounce it has Nix and Courtland
Sutton and so yeah, I think there is something to
be said there about the matchups. If you look a
little deeper into the matchups, you're a really really intriguing game.
I think everybody's immediately going to think while Being Counter
is red hot players surging, don't football, and Football has
(54:46):
to make his big trade of the year that could
be coming at some point, even before the weekend. So
we'll just have to see, you know, he's always sort
of looking to to answer the call and to pick
up the phone. But you do look at Jason's squad though,
the Being Counters, and these are players that are just
like red hot right now. And you know what, And
hats off to folks who had the balls to draft
(55:09):
Christian McCaffrey and even spend big money on him. I
think you got up for a discount in most drafts
this year because of just the injury concern and the risk.
But he's been healthy, he's playing well, he's putting up
huge numbers. He's sort of Christian McCaffrey of old. And
if you took that risk, it's paying off for you
because then you had money or you had draft capital
invest in other places and you have a more well
(55:30):
rounded team. So you know, it'll be interesting that he's
starting Andy Dalton at least for now. We'll see. Obviously
that's bye week. Issues Stafford on buy and his other
quarterbacks on buy, but it may not matter. He's gonna
put up some points this week. But this will be
a fun one. Yahoo got it right. This is a
matchup of the week.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
McCaffrey went for forty two dollars in our draft. That
was behind Saquon Barkley at sixty four. That was behind
let me see of a budget of Mere Gibbs at
fifty six. He had the fur balls and he went
and took Christian McCaffrey for forty two dollars and he's
getting paid for it.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
Yeah, yeah, it's paying off for him. This is a
great show, a phenomenal show. Can we get what before
we go? Can we get a trade executed live on air? Nate,
I know you're working the phones right now.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
Yeah, yeah, it's just it's not panning out. I think
that's the truffle shot. You know, really gave it his best.
But he's he's right, he doesn't have much to offer,
and I mean he does have that great little picture
of him number one, but not number one in trades. Today,
I will say just a little advice for you, AJ.
(56:37):
This is what really pulled my team out of the
doldrums into the light over the years, was just let
your wife take control of your team and everything works out.
So that's when I was winning championships, and then I
took control back and I haven't won one since. So
take that for what you will.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
My wife with just wants to make sure that they're
nice people, nice humans. That's the roster She'll put together,
a roster of nice humans.
Speaker 4 (57:05):
My wife wanted to pick the cutest ones and clearly
that works.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
So yeah, when I go to the draft, my wife says,
don't draft any domestic abusers or dog killers because of
that one Mike Vick incident fifteen years ago. Guys, it's
been a pleasure. Farrage ball for the leaves. Don't sleep
on them. Mike, thanks for co hosting. I love you.
It's a great job. Stroke whatever you do, don't stroke your.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
I'm gonna a dusty black cold with a red rat hand.
You win.
Speaker 1 (57:53):
His arms kindle over dreams of took you in life
time to the story
