Speaker 1 (00:03):
Regina, Hello, how are you good?

Speaker 2 (00:08):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I am good, I am blessed, I am highly favored.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
I just got to make sure one thing I'm wearing
Fabletics that's not gonna be a problem, is it? No?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Well, you know, because it's Kevin sting, you know. I yeah,
I know.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Yeah, it's only a problem because I don't have it.
But you know, he doesn't get I don't. For all
my ladies do my ladies Jada has sent me Hey humans,
I mean Tracy, Ellis Ross, Gabrielle m hm, who else

(00:47):
has said? All the Lisa, all of the ladies send
me things that the ones who I've worked with.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
None of the men.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Did Kevin ever send me any of his fathletics?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Never?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I don't gifts. But I don't know why he messages
with you so much this, I don't know. I mean,
I guess that's why finally there's a.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Movie coming out that he's not in one battle after another.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, he's too short to be in the movie. I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Well, I mean, you know, the film has so many
amazing people in it, I should.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Say, well, yeah, Leonardo DiCaprio, I mean, shot Head, you
come on.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah, Benicio, Yeah, Tiana Taylor, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, when there are a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
There are a lot of actually people those are just
the ones you know, we see, but there are a
lot of really great people who are also just in
the film.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, now here's theaters tomorrow. Tell us about the movie
and tell us about your role.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, the movie is it's it's you know, I would
say it is. It is a wild ride.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
It's like.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
There's action there, it's funny, it's heart, you know, like
it's it's a lot of things building together. It's just
like it's kind of like really this explosive, frenetic but
also you know, emotional story and there's points where it

(02:39):
is emotional, but it you know, Paul Thomas Anderson, who
wrote and directed it, he really was able to just
kind of create an entire immersive world and experience and
you gotta you gotta check it out.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Oh well, it's definitely because I like action films and
I know it has some action. I like drama, and
I know it's got drama in it. And I hear
it's got a little bit of some comedy in it too.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
It's got Yeah, it's got actually, it's got quite a
bit of comedy, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It's I mean, it.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Has everything, and it's and it's it's like a ride,
you know, and it's it's from beginning, you know, it just.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
It goes wow, one battle after another in theaters tomorrow,
you know. Speaking of comedy, you've made us laugh so
much with your movies.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
What scene could you barely get through because you were
cracking yourself up.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I don't ever do that that that I don't I
don't really have a thing that I can't because I
don't really think of it as funny. You know, you're
grounding it, so you're not it's gonna feel real to you.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
When you're doing it.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
I've had some takes that I've messed up and then
you get the giggles and you can't stop. But right,
you know, or maybe somebody else has made me laugh
maybe and stuff, and I'm like, wait.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Give me a second.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
But kind of when you're in, when you're doing it,
you're not really you're kind of doing it as it's
really real.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yeah, really, you know what I mean? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I get that. Now. Your role in one battle after another,
tell us about your character.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Well, I played the character Deandrew Deandrew, she was in
she was in the French seventy five, and.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
She's kind of the grounding force of the movie, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
She goes and her mission is to save the girl
who's been taken, which you'll see, you know, who's been
okay or who they're trying to get. She actually hasn't
been taken, but it is to save her from being
taken by.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Another group of folks.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
And so DeAndre comes in, and she's got a history
with with Lee and Tiana's character, as they were in
the same group together, and now some things that they've
done in the past have kind of come back to
haunt them, you know, sixteen years later, and so it's like,
how do we save how do we save the day

(05:16):
so this child doesn't have to deal with what the
repercussions of.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
What we've done.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Is there a dream role that you have that you
haven't gotten yet, you know, something that you want to do,
a character you would love to play.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I know, you know, people ask me that I don't
know that I think about it like that. I may
have dream like directors that I want to you know,
work with, but it's so hard because I read something
and then I'm like, oh, that'd be fun to play.
So I don't necessarily have one, although I have one
which I can't talk about. That would be a dream
to play. And we're this close to that potentially happening.

(05:54):
And then I'll be back soon to talk about that.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Oh, Regina Hall just gave me goosies.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Thank you. Well, listen, we're.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Definitely all gonna get out and see the movie tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
One battle after another.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Uh, it looks like it's going to be a great film,
and I mean it's got some powerhouses in it and
I can't wait to see.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
You do your thing.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Man, Thank you, Thank you for having me today.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Look reminded me that I gotta go get on Kevin
about the fabletics that I don't have.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
You know what, if I need to, I will DM
you like a cute part, a gift certificate or something.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
But yeah, get on Kevin about that. I mean, that's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'm I'm going to.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I mean today, Yeah, I gotta I gotta tell you
a true story.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Okay, So I suffer from anxiety and depression.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
But there's one video of you and Kevin that whenever
I'm having one of those days.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I watch and I laughed so hard.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
That it's the one where y'all are face timing and
then he's like, all of a sudden, he thinks he's
on mute and he's talking about your hair, and I
crack up so hard whenever I watch that.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
It's a it's a game changer, it's a lifesaver. I'm
just gonna let you.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Thank you, thank you. I gotta tell Kevin that means
a lot.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
No, truly, and I'm not be esking. That is my
go to bush. Snap out of it. Snap out of it.
You gotta you gotta snap out of it. You're gonna
be okay. I watch that every time. I laughed to
tears because it's so funny, because your look on your
face is just priceless and just like, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
And I debated whether I was gonna tell you or not,
and I was like, you know what, I can tell her.
I feel comfortable enough. Let me just lay out there.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Oh I'm so glad. No, you know that's listen.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
We all have to have the thing that gets us
through the thing, right, So that's why we do that,
you know, That's that's what that's what we're supposed to
be doing for each other, but sometimes we don't know
each other.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
But that's great.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
That's what comedy is supposed to do, make us laugh
and get less out of here. I mean, that was
one of the reasons I wanted to do that. I
was like, Kevin, let's do something crazy and like just fun,
and so we just rode with it.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
So that makes me happy.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Yeah, run buddy, I'm sorry. All right, I'm sorry. I'm
making you run even later. Okay, thank you guys

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Thank you, all right, Okay, bye bye

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
