My brother is there. There is a magic formuaty that
you have to think cool even though it's hot. As

seventieth annual Fight for Freedom Fun Dinner being held at
Huntings in Place, and this year's theme is the power
is within the People.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Well, thank you for giving us this time to talk
about it. The power is within the people. I don't
care what's happening in DC, what Donald Trump is doing.
I ain't doing what's happening overseas. The power is in
the people. We have the final say, constitutionally, legally and
in terms of mass numbers. This is our seventieth dinner.
(01:46):
We are the largest branch in the country. We have
the largest Fight for Freedom fron Dinner in the country.
But only branches that have ever hosted sitting presidents and
retired prinsident. All other branch in the country has done
that this Sunday. The thing, as you said, is the
power is within the people. We're pleased to have the
first African American governor of the State of Maryland, the
(02:08):
Honobald Wes Moore. He's only the third elected African American
governor in the history of this country. He's our keynote speaker.
We're gonna honor Roland Martin with our William Monroe Trotter
Freedom and Justice as well, because of what Roland does
in terms of his articulation, his advocacy, etc. We're gonna
(02:29):
honor the Reverend doctor Jeremiah Wright Junior, who was the
retired Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ. He
was Barack Obama and Michelle's pastor. You may recall all
of that I has taught, advocated, lectured, written preachers all
over this country who respect and love Jeremiah. We're gonna
(02:50):
give him the James Weldon Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award. Alice
Thompson locally, who was the founder of Black Family Development,
She's gonna receive the Church Terrail Freedom and Justice War
because of her work in the community educationally and with families.

What do we do when they coming after you. You
saw what's happening in La. Don't think Detroit is too
far away from that. We have a high Hispanic and
Latino community here, avah Arab community right outside of Detroit
(05:03):
and Dearborn and in Northeast Detroit. We have them. So
don't think that you can escape being picked up and
sent to El Salvador or sent to South Sudan. Because
the courts just ruled that Trump can narrowly send people
to third world nations if in fact he deems that
it's possible, So what do we do to guard against that?
(05:25):
And then and all this stuff is free, Bushman. And

the National town Hall with Freddie and with Mike Dyson
to be at Wayne County Community College the Northwest District.
And we have health fairs, we have Senior Wellness Days.
(06:07):
All this is Thursday Friday, and say, and it's free.
It's free, y'all. This freedom is free because we're already
paid the price for it. Come and get it and
get resources to help you. You can call three one
three eight seven one two zero eight seven, or go
