Speaker 1 (00:00):
Craig Way alongside the producer Cameron Parker.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Glad to have you with us, and as always, we
avail ourselves.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'll let you check the text line because I'm still
waiting to get my clearance clearance. I'm waiting with this
new laptop to get everything worked out where I can
actually pull up the text line on the new computer
that I have engaged right now. But you still have
access to that, so I'll let you examine that. If
we have pertinent questions that we need to get to,

(00:29):
we'll do that. And also, by the way, next hour
will be your opportunity to find out the keyword. If
you are interested in having an opportunity to win tickets
to see Tom Segura, it's not till next.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
February, but you can get in the drawing for it.
Next hour. We'll get to that.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So it always text us at eight one to five
three's show Text to word. Text is followed by your
message one one message. A couple come in asking were
there a larger amount of Detroit Lions fans at the
Cowboys game on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I'm sure there were no more than usual than when
you have opposing team fans come in somebody.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, that's good about that. There were a lot of
Alliance fans there.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Another texture asking, not even asking, it's more of a comment.
Listening to the Jerry Jones interview on one oh five
three of the Fan, this makes me think Jeane Jones
deserves an award for being married to that man all
this time. He must be a joy to be around.
I'm sure he was more fun to be around, you know,

(01:28):
twenty five years ago, thirty years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
If you're Gene Jones, he probably wasn't more fun to
be around twenty five thirty years ago.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Maybe not knowing what was going on.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, sure, it's probably the same when it comes
to that.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Another texture seeing the book, that's uh, the Ghost of
Darkness is based on the man Eaters of Tsavo.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
That's it is excellent.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, so I thought that's my amazons.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
There you go, and the movie's pretty good too. Al Kelmer,
Michael Douglas.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Michael Douglas is like it's like the old, the old
grizzled Hunter that's there specifically because because of the chill
he wants to get. Yeah, Val Kilmer is just trying
to get the railroad done, and these lions are just
attacking this village and of the railroad workers and just
eating them alive. It's it's like nineteen ninety six, I

(02:21):
think it is something like that when it comes out.
So yeah, it's pretty intrigued. So that what they were
doing is examining the teeth of the actual lions they
had and finding things about and they're trying to find
out why those suble lions were man eaters as opposed
to a lot of the regular lions of the bush

(02:44):
and of Kenya and Uganda and all of Africa, who
do not kill for sport, they and do not normally
attack men for food. Their food is of a different variety.
But these lions had a different idea. So that's that's

(03:06):
what all that research was about. This is pretty fascinating
research I think going on.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So did you watch the You did? You watched the
bill Jets? Yes? I was gonna ask you if you
watch the Monday night football game last night? So you did?
I did?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
In a good bounce back game for Josh Allen. I mean,
the Bills had lost two in a row. Allen was
just abysmal against Houston in the not really rematch, but
the you know, Josh Allen's Von Diggs game that a
lot of people are looking forward to, only had what
like nine completions, thirty plus pass attempts, but looked a
lot better. Bill's red zone offense looked good three or

(03:44):
four and the Jets, I mean, they they had their chance.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Now.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Of course, when you fire your coach, you don't want
to face one of the best teams the next week, right,
So they're in a tough spot facing a Buffalo team
that's coming off of two losses. You knew Buffalo is
gonna be ready to go in that one, and the
Jets didn't look bad. But the thing is, you know
when you look at a new coach and there's so
many little things you want to see get cleaned up,
like penalties, right, and there was a penalty in every

(04:10):
single play of that game last time, and that that
just could have been the officiating crew.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
But that last Jets drive was brutal.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
It felt like every play there was a flag, and
of course it culminates in the Aaron Rodgers interception targeting
Mike Williams gets picked off, and then the next day
we have the DeVante Adams trade. So that's what I
think two games now where Mike Williams and Aaron Rodgers
have been on the wrong page led to an interception.

(04:37):
You can probably tell Rogers went into the front office
and said, I'm done with this guy, get him out,
get me DeVante Adams. But I think if you're a
Jets fan, you feel okay about the game now. They
certainly could have won it. And also the kicking last night, Craig,
I mean, we saw one of the worst point after
attempts of all time from Tyler Bass.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
And for those of us who have Tyler bassan football team.
Fortunately I didn't need those points to win. I already
had things locked up, otherwise I would not have been happy.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
So you know how last weight we talked about the
win probability stat making fun of it on the ESPN
Baseball Scoretiker, where it just the win probability of.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
A ninety one and then like two pitches later it's
had eleven percent or thirteen percent because it just wildly fluctuates.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
And I said that just below that is the win
probability on the ESPN Fantasy app, which lets you know,
a few weeks ago I had like a ninety eight
percent chance of winning I lost. Well, it flipped because
yesterday going in, my team had an awful week for
some reason. I had Exavier Hutchinson started, he got zero points.
Seahawks defense minus two. I had Pat Firemouth and over

(05:45):
Mark Andrews he got three points. I had a ninety
nine percent chance of losing yesterday. But Alan Lazard caught
a fifty two yard Hill Mary touchdown, Josh Allen had
three touchdowns, and my buddy, who was playing, he texted
me we're no longer friends because I ended up waiting
five four points last night. So possibilities the most useless stat.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
So the Jets lose, you know who they play next?
Tell me the Steelers? Okay, And Mike Tomlin today said
Russell Wilson is quote in consideration in quote to start
against the Jets. He said he'd make his choice between
Wilson and Justin Fields as the starting quarterback closer to

(06:31):
game time. That's the way he described it. Closer to
the game time. So we'll see how that develops as well.
All right, up next, we'll talk football of the collegiate
and high school variety in the state of Texas. Greg Temper,
managing editor of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine joins us
next when we continue on Sports Radio AM thirteen under
his own of the iHeartRadio app.
