Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is kind of a little bit of a ramp
down week, I think is the way some might describe it,
because you're kind of ramping down your work week, although
you are geared up for your holiday week, and so
I would just say be careful if you're driving out
of town. I'd be doing that myself. After we have

(00:21):
long worn weekly with coach Sark. Tomorrow night, that's right
night before Thanksgiving, we're still going to record, well, it'll
be recorded, but the show's going to be live on
the Zone because it is the night before Thanksgiving, so
it's being recorded for the network for those radio stations
that still want to run it on Thursday, they may

(00:41):
want to run it on Thanksgiving night, but it will
be live tomorrow night here on the Zone, So live
at six o'clock, and our special guest will be none
other than Michael Griffin. Part of that next Yeah, from
the two thousand and five National championship team. He of

(01:03):
the spectacular interception. It was kind of a game changer,
kind of flipped the momentum in that one. And I'll
played against Sark who was coaching. So that's a fun
little antidote there. Yeah, Sark's kind of getting used to
that deal. Yeah, with guys have played played played against him.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I'm curious, you know, as a player is so focused
on the game, and as the Marl frase from Sark,
you're probably more enamored with yourself and than you are
the other coaches, obviously with Liner and Reggie Bush and
Lindo White and those guys. So I'm curious if any
of the Texas player has had any idea who Steve
Sarkisian was at the time. Now they do, of course,
but who knew at the time that.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I'm willing to bet back then for probably very few
who knew that they'd heard more about Norm Chow sure
the total offensive coordinator than Sark who was the quarterbacks coach.
But twenty years later, yeah, coach, there you go. So
that'll be tomorrow evening six o'clock at the Pluckers the
West Dampus location in Austin. So hope you can be

(02:03):
out there with us. We'll bring the show to you live.
What I started to say is that Linda and I
are leaving right after that to drive up the Dallas
for Worth area for Thanksgiving up there on Thursday. We'll
be back on Friday, and of course, Friday night, Long
Worn men's basketball back in Action, winners of five in
a row. Texas will host the Hornets of Delaware State.
It's an eight o'clock tip Friday night at Moody Center.

(02:26):
So I hope to see you there for that one
Friday night. And then obviously on Saturday, it's Texas and
Texas A and M the Cotton Lone Stars showdown from
Kyle Field and College Station. And as we mentioned, last
hour of the coverage begins actually three point thirty with
Long Orange Game Day from the Thompson Hotel.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Did I hear my cards.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
During the during the break doing a promotion? That's when
he called, you guys are in the cantina there? He said,
something's under the canteena the Ariba cantina there at the Thompson.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
So the rooftop cantina at the Thompson Hotel is called
Adiba Abajo okay, which is just that rooftop restaurant in
Bar where we're gonna be on. So again, it's a
fantastic spot. It's gonna be great weather, We're gonna have
some special guests coming on. So excited for that. Excited
to divvy up that, especially after we had Crystal Conte

(03:24):
on this past week at Bevo Boulevard. He still didn't
tell me how I can win Austin's Chamber Austin in
the Year award. So still figuring out if I can
maybe get in the mix on that for twenty twenty five.
But yeah, special guests again, of course, a six thirty
soft kickoff time. I'm sure Craig give the official kickoff time,
but we will be on the air from three three

(03:46):
to five thirty. And again, if you're not going out
to College Station and spending a grand on a ticket,
come out to Adiba Abajo at the Thompson Hotel and
watch Texas in Texas A and M play.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
I like how you put that a soft kick all time?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, because it's not going to be six thirty, which
I guess you're probably used to. I am, I am.
We've had those one hour and twenty minute pregames. We're
about have another one. I think I think I think
the actual kickoff is going to be I think sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Oh, I think that's going to be the actual kickoff.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
So yeah, an hour and nineteen minutes in the kickoff,
seventy nine minute pre Game Network pre game.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I think is going to be the case on that
is that Herbie and Feller, it is, it is, it's
it's it's the big team. It's funny.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
The team that has been calling the Texas games over
the past three weeks, I guess it is is Joe Tessitur,
Jesse Palmer, and Katie George. And I've met Joe Tass
and met Palmer and chatted with him.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Katie.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I've gotten to chatting with a little more of a
because of seeing the team of the past three weeks.
And b she and I were the same flight going
from Fayetteville to Chicago when I did after the Arkansas game.
So when I saw her last Saturday, I said, uh, wow,
look at this continue in the streak. She said, yeah,
the streak ends this week. You got the A team

(05:15):
coming and going into College station. She said, this will
be the end of the line for us this week.
Uh but uh, anyway, Uh that it'll be It'll be
those guys. Uh let's see to the text line. Uh
we're you know Cam mentioned that the guy said a
buddy of mine's mom is one hundred and eight lives
in the bas Drop area.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
That's really cool. Somebody said enough for the PPE Talk listen.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
It was in inconceivable the fact that it's not going
to be hazardous to your l top in the shower.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Okay, I just want to let you know that. Then
somebody else I'll talk about it.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Awkward conversation the family table at Thanksgiving. That guess about
the Baker Mayfield thing on that So.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Yeah, so it it'd be more awkward than the Rogers
family things give But yeah, I feel like Aaron Rodgers
is very don't even bothered to get with anybody Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
I just have a feeling he's probably going to Pat
McAfee show.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
You Honestly, I have a theory, Craig, the only reason
why we even still care about a rod is because
of the Pat McAfee show. If not for him going
on that show, would he still be really relevant? I mean,
I know he's the New York Jets quarterback, but I
feel like him being on that show was able to
give him more media coverage than he deserves because he's
been a bottom ten quarterback in this league.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, it has been. He definitely looks like he's on
the backside of his career. I think I would rather
have Cooper Rush than Aaron Rodgers. Oh stop, I'm serious.
Stop jokes about Cooper Rush for weeks. Now, now you're
going to say that because you know Cooper Rush.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
No, just let's let's look at the stats from last week.
Just let's just look Aaron Rodgers. So the Dets winner
lose last week? I don't even know. They lost to
San Francisco. No, they lost to Indianapolis. Yeah, he threw
for one hundred and eighty four yards, pair of touchdowns,
no interceptions. Okay, now Cooper Rush against the Commanders, Yeah,

(07:16):
got the win, Craig So yeah that come.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
On, read the numbers.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
The numbers. Two hundred and forty seven passing yards, two touchdowns,
to interceptions.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Okay, all right, rest my case. Okay, you can have
Cooper Rush. Not that I'm want Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
All right, comey, got we're gonna talk football of the
high school and college variety. Greg Tepper, managing editor Dave
