a fast food or junk food up there? Are you
much of a fast food eat or junk food eater?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Do you do much of that?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
No?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Not really good for you.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Those of us who are hopelessly trapped in that world
sometimes can be out.

Is what it'll be.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
And for those who wanted to know, you know, the
Krabby Patty, what's the name of the place where where
SpongeBob would get his krabby Patty? The Crusty Crab, the
Krusty krab See, I knew, I knew you would know that. Okay, so,
they announced that they're partnering with Paramount to celebrate the
twenty fifth anniversary of SpongeBob Wow by launching the Krabby

(01:22):
items that will be available at Wendy's restaurants nationwide for
a limited time. They have the Pineapple under the Sea Frosty. Okay,
that sounds good. Yeah, it's a vanilla frosty with a
pineapple apple mango flavor pure swirl, a first of its
kind frosty flavor innovation. And then they have the Krabby

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Begins next Tuesday. Okay, I'm excited about that. All right.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
So even a person that's not so much into the
fast food, you might be tempted to try it out, then,
is what you're saying?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yes, okay, do you like ice cream? I like frozen yogurt? Okay?
Learning more about you is the day goes on here.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Khalil Ben and Jerry's is one of the famous ice
cream companies the country.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
In fact, I.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Did a tour of their ice cream plant in Vermont
back many many years ago. But they're bringing back a
flavor on October tenth, ten ten. And the reason for
that and the flavors, they're pumpkin cheesecake. Oh okay, they're
pumpkin cheesecake ice cream. And so it's got this creamy

(02:51):
frozen treat maybe with a thick gram cracker swirl sixteen
ounce pipe.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
They'll bring it.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Out and they bring it back in the fall. So
bringing it back next week on the tenth, because it
was rated a ten out of ten on back in
the day as being that good an ice cream.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Those of us who are not in the pumpkin eh,
not so much.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I like Chunky Monkey, you know, the banana t ar
ting like that. Yeah, yeah, that's good. The cherries Garcia
after Jerry Garcia. There's different ones that I like. But
you know anyway, that one's coming next week. Okay, this
is this is.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
A nice gesture.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
There are a lot of us who go through a
lot of headaches with air travel.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Do you fly much. I do not, actually can't stand
flying right now.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, well, I understand that United Airlines passengers were pretty upset.
This happened a few days ago and it was going
from Houston to San Francisco, and they had some issues
because a Navy man had passed out and collapsed in

(04:05):
the bathroom. Prompted the pilot to ask if they were
any medical professionals on board to help before announcing the
plane would have to land to seek help.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So they landed in New Mexico.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
All right, So they landed emergency stop in Albuquerque. Medical
event they get him off the plane, but then they
couldn't take off again. All the passengers were asked to
disembark from the aircraft. They waited for a new flight
crew to arrive because the other flight crew was out hours.
So this brought about a long long to lay one

(04:37):
hundred and fifty passengers. So they're really upset. So now
it gets in the nighttime. Passengers were eventually given fifteen
dollars food vouchers, but one of the passengers said all
the airport restaurants were shut down.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
They were closed by that. Wow.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
So the pilot, who had to navigate the emergency landing,
saw what was happening.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
So what did he do?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
He ordered dozens, well thirty total pizzas from a local
pizza shop and had it delivered. And he went and
hand delivered these pizzas and gave out slices.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Of pizzas to the passengers. That's nice, pretty cool. I
would appreciate that because I know in a situation like
that I would be frustrated. I mean, fifteen dollars voucher
for food in the airport, it might get you a
back of chips. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
And then and then, like I said, they were all
closed anyway, so you can't get anything anyway. Thank goodness
he did that. Let's gets caught up on all the
tropical storm stuff because it's kind of scary. Obviously with
the tragic stuff that happened with Hurricane Helene. They're going
to be cleaning up for a while in my home
state of North Carolina, in the western part of the state,

(05:44):
especially up in the mountains. So they have been tracking
three other storms in the tropics. Three fortunately right now.
The most dangerous of these, which is a Category two
hurricane and could reach Cap four status. It's starting to

(06:06):
curve north in the Atlantic and not go out into
the Gulf and not and even east of Bermuda, what
he calls him that.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
So, here's this churning storm that is going.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
On in the Atlanta in the Atlantic, and they said
it could wind up being one of the most powerful
storms ever. But it's just hanging out in the middle
of the Atlantic Ocean, so unless you're flying or on
a boat going across there, you're probably.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Not going to encounter it.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
And then by the time it reaches the real cold
water when you get up north, it'll decompress after that.
But they're watching that. There's another storm directly behind that,
but they think it's just gonna, you know, follow the
other one. It's going to trail the hurricane Kirk. And
then there's a third one that is in the Gulf.
But it's not really well formed yet. It's not a

(07:00):
a well formed tropical it's not even really a tropical
depression right now.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
It doesn't have a name on it yet.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
They said it's pretty unorganized and they're hoping that that'll
stay out of the area. So that's that's good to
know there, especially as the folks are cleaning up from
the in the aftermath of Hurricane helenk Okay, two other things?

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Are you a collector of things? Act? Yes? I collect?
What do you collect? Manga? Basketball cards, football cards? Okay?
And pens? From where places I visit? All right?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
So you would be interested in collecting a medallion? Then?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Right? Oh? Yes?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Would you be interested in collecting a medallion that contains
the original mold from the discovery of penicillin?

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Actually? Yes, okay?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
This happened in nineteen thirty was when doctor Alexander Fleming
Are nineteen twenty eight discovered penicillin when he accidentally left
a stack of staff cultures next to an open window
while I'm the vacation he comes back from vacation. The
cultures were contaminated by an airborne mold, and before disposing

(08:06):
of the cultures, he noticed that the mold had prevented
normal growth.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
By the staff.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
So he was able to create the medallion is a
gift for his niece and inscribed it with a message
the mold that made penicillin Alexander Fleming. So this medallion
contains a specimen of the original penicillin mold on blotting paper,
mounted with a glass disc held in place by a

(08:34):
black plastic rim two inch in diameter thing. So where
this Well, it's going to go on auction, online auction,
and it'll start next week.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Entry bid is thirty thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Oh okay, so it might be a little outpriced for
you there, a little bit, all right. It could go anywhay,
thirty to fifty thousand dollars for mold woo. Right, all right,
there's our heart inconceivable. For Wednesday, we'll be back to
wrap up Hour number one on Sports Radio AM thirteen
under the Zone.
