Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's the Craigway Show with the voice of the Texas
Longhorns and Hall of Vaine broadcaster Craig Way. All right,
Cameron Parker, here's the pressing question of the day for you.
It isn't about which fried food you might try at
the State Fair. About Sark last night, Really down with

(00:28):
a cotton candy bacon. Yeah, I believe that with that
if it's a win, Really down with that. I had
forgotten that it was a turkey leg he ate in
the locker room. It wasn't frieda oreos. He expressed a
desire for it. But as he said last night on
the program which we were recording, and of course you
can hear it tonight, Longhorn Weekly with Coach Sark at

(00:49):
seven o'clock. Our special guest Jamal Charles, had a great
visit with Jamal as well. But when I asked about
all this, he said, you know, I don't have anybody
to bringing. I'm like, you got all these managers get
thing right? Yeah, you want him to run out there
with a few tickets and pick up something for him.
But anyway he was, he said he was down with
the cotton candy turkey at Cotton Candy Bacon. If it

(01:09):
happens the right if it happens on that No, my
pressing question for you is, have you watched any preseason NBA?
I did, Actually, did you watch the Thunder last night
against the Rockets?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I didn't watch him last night. I watched him against
the Spurs, okay, And I texted my friend some stuff
and he's like, why are you watching NBA right now?
You're you're sick in the head. I was like, yeah,
I know, I mean, I'm I'm super pumped because, as
your son Jason Way knows, the Thunder are favorites to
come out of the West right now. We have a
stacked lineup. I love this team the way Sam Presty

(01:48):
has built his roster. I think we're the best coach
in the league. I'm I haven't been this excited for
an NBA season in quite some time. With all the
hypes rounding okay see and all the trades they have made,
so it's been fun. And also following the other storylines
as well, a lot of Bronny stuff in lebron and
you know, we're just just like, if you're an NBA fan,
you're just gonna have to suck it up this year

(02:09):
because we're gonna get Bronnie and bron content every single
day from here on out all the way ontill June.
But outside of that, there's a lot of fun storylines
this NBA season. So super excited. It starts a lot
earlier this season. I think the twenty third is the
first day, because you know, they're trying to elongate the
schedule to put in more rest days and less back

(02:32):
to backs, and less than two weeks away the start,
which is weird because it felt like the season just ended,
and of course we had the Olympics and so we
were still watching basketball into July, so that part is
interesting as well. Craig, you know, well, those guys who
played for Team USA, Tatum, lebron kd Booker, Curry, what
will they be like in the first half of the season,

(02:53):
you know, coming back from a pretty long summer, how
all their bodies hold up. We're gonna see a lot
more rest from them, which I assume we will and
won't lead to any more injuries. But I'm excited. Having
watched in preseason basketball, I'm still trying to figure out
how to watch all all of the teams this season.
Victory out for Dellas Stars because their season tonight at
the beginning, was it last night tonight?

Speaker 1 (03:15):
You have the l Yeah, I know the calls place
against Nashville, Okay and Carolina Hurricanes begin tomorrow night, and
and they'll play Tampa Bay who had to escape a
real hurricane and spent several days in Raleigh getting ready
for that season. All right, So so to the NBA, Yeah,

(03:35):
my son like you that you and my son Jason
are the two biggest Thunder fans I know. And while
Linda and I were engrossed in Game four the Division
series between the Dodgers and the Padres last night, and
also keeping track of the Yankees and Royals, flipping back
over and watching that, he was back in his bedroom
watching watching the Thunder love It against the Rockets. He

(04:00):
was watching that, and he said it was a strange
ending because what the Thunder was up by a point
and they with or by three or whatever it was,
with with one second left, they would call for a
foul and then the Rockets tied it, got it overtime.
And then one last night something like that. He mentioned.

(04:21):
The other reason to bring that up, I saw highlights.
I didn't see any of the game. But I saw
highlights of the Spurs Magic game, and I have to
admit it was It was kind of cool, although a
little weird seeing Chris Paul lob passes to Wimby for
slam dunks that that was kind of odd to see.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
I forgot Chris Paul was even on the Spurs. Yeah,
until like a week ago when they when the media
they happened. It's like, is this photoshop? Nope, that's right,
Chris Paul is on the Spurs. And I think a
lot of NBA's fans wanted Cris Paul and the Spurs, maybe,
like I know, five years ago, but now we get it.
And Binyama, you know, he finally gets a true point card.

(05:04):
So I know Bill Shoning is really excited for that.
This season, it'll be fun to watch. Spurs will be
a fun league Pats League pass team to watch this season.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
All right. Speaking of Spurs, Danny Green's retiring announced it
fifteen years. Of course, spent most of his career with
the Spurs, but he's won three titles with three different teams.
So here's your trivia question. Do you know the other
either of the other two teams that Danny Green has
won an NBA World Championship.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
With Toronto, Los Angeles and.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
San Antonio, San Antonina. That's it, very well, very well done.
You know your NBA twenty fourteen with the Spurs, twenty
nineteen with the Raptors, twenty twenty with the Lakers. You
impressed me, know oning the one about the Raptors. There.
He finished with career averages of nine points per game,
three and a half rebounds. His one thousand, five hundred
and seventy seven to three pointers ranked forty third in

(05:59):
NBA and he's one of only twelve players to make
that many threes and shoot at least forty percent beyond
the arc. The guy was just a He was just
a regular, full on shooter.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
And he's a player that it feels like social media
did him dirty. In terms of Twitter, NBA did not
like Danny Green as opposed to maybe just normal basketball fans.
He's in that weird category of players who got less
popular over time because of because of how he played well.

(06:31):
For some reason, Danny Green was always trending on Twitter,
and the guy.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Was always a winner. He won a national championship in
North Carolina. Here's another great number. He is one of
only four players to make as many three pointers as
he did without being a first round draft pick. Do
you know any of the other three? They're all relativated again,
he is one of only four players to make as

(06:58):
many three pointers as he did over fifteen hundred without
being a first round draft pick.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Oh, that's a really good trip. I know, I know,
because everyone I'm thinking right now at top of the
three point list, I think it was all first round
draft picks. Curry was, Miller was Ray, Allen was Yeah.
All right, here's some names for you, Okay, Kyle Korver yep, okay.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Trevor Reza wow, and Rishard Lewis. Oh would you have
gotten any of those?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
No?

Speaker 1 (07:30):
So that's that's an interesting trivia question. So Danny Green,
good guy, Bill Show Houston, he enjoyed talking to him
all the time. A national champion, a world champion.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
And he is he's getting in the media too.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
So yeah, he's really good at it too. He's really
good at it. So I can see ESPN using him,
or Spurs TV or whatever somebody will be using him
from Therefore, it all right. We will be back to
