Speaker 1 (00:00):
Radio A and thirteen hundred The Zone. Andrew Zimmel filling
in for Craig. Ways, Craig is in the Big Apple,
New York City. That is right as the Texas Longhorns
men's basketball team takes on Saint Joseph tonight eight thirty
pm tip, eight pm pre game on Sports Radio AM
thirteen hundred The Zone. That is right. So Craig will
(00:22):
be joining at three seventeen, give us a little preview
on long worn basketball, and of course we're going to
We're going to have to talk about Texas and Kentucky
Senior Day at DKR two thirty. Kick tomorrow again. KVET
FM and Sports Radio AM thirteen hundred of the Zone
are your homes for Longhorn Sports, all right. One player
(00:44):
has become so oversaturated in the market that we're gonna
give him his own late night show. Let's hit it.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I am starting. I believe it's January third. I hope
it's January third, But we're be doing a late night
show during the postseason on ESPN's going to be airing
every Friday. And you know, when I first approached ESPN
with potentially working for them, and Monday night football was
a big part of that Monday night countdown. I thought about,
(01:12):
you know, I loved late night shows. I've always loved them.
I remember sleepovers watching Conan O'Brien with my friends. It's like,
what are we doing here? But that was and I
think for me, the biggest thing that players say they
miss when they leave the sport is being around the guys.
Is the locker room, is the banter. I mean, listen,
(01:35):
that's where half of the good stuff comes from. Sure,
and you know, being able to have this, you know,
this the show where we're going to have a bunch
of guys up there, legends of the game, friends that
I played the game with, coaches, celebrities, while also incorporating
NFL films. Who's going to be a part of it.
We have a live band, snack time, being able to
(01:55):
play some of these iconic NFL songs, and it's going
to be a same in Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
So we don't have a name just yet for the
Jason Kelcey late night talk show that's going to happen
once a week on Friday nights during the NFL playoffs. Yeah,
there's no way that this works. So it will join
the list of other great ideas that just came up short,
like Always Lay with Katie Nolan. I love Katie Nolan.
(02:23):
I think that she's incredibly talented. Show on ESPN Plus
didn't work. It will also join Cold Pizza, which again
turned into first take shows like Sports Night on ESPN two,
and of course Barstool Van Talk that kind of disintegrated
before it even had a chance to do anything. I
feel bad because there's so many options now when it
(02:47):
comes to late night talk. There's so many options just
for content, just in general. Guys like Colbert and Kimmel
and Seth Myers. They're not even pulling the ratings that
they used to pull. And you're telling me that I'm
expecting people to tune into Jason Kelcey. I was joking
about this morning with Mark Henry. What is Jason? Is
(03:09):
Jason Kelsey funny? Do we know that he's funny? I
like the New Heights Show. I think that their little
podcast is cute. They got it on the or the
iHeart Radio app. Should go check it out after you
check out this podcast. Craig Ways Show podcast bailable every day,
don't miss any of it. But I mean, Jason Kelcey,
really we're gonna give everybody a talk show. I don't know.
I think that this is an idea destined to fail,
(03:32):
but you know I've been wrong before, well not often,
but we'll see what happens, all right, Coming up next
more of The Craig Ways Show as we continue to
roll into hour two on sports Radio AM thirteen hundred
The Zone
