Fourth Radio AM thirteen hundred Zone Andrew Zimble filling in
for Craig Way as Craig Way and Cameron Parker in
Las Vegas for the Longhorn season opener against the Ohio
State Buck Guys, if we missed any of the show,
don't miss the podcast. You can go back and listen

(00:23):
As we've gone over the SEC finding South Carolina, James
Franklin owning up to the loss against Ohio State, and
of course all your news on the Dallas Cowboys as
it is official. Dak Prescott a torn hamstring on the
short list for the IR Not on the IR yet,
but potentially could be as the trade deadline looms for

(00:49):
the NFL. But tonight the game of the night. It's
Monday Night Football. You wait for it all weekend. It's
Kansas City versus Tampa Bay. Buccaneers enter this game four
and four. The Chiefs, of course unbeaten. Now, the Buccaneers
this season have been a very good defensive team. They

(01:10):
have consistently been the type of team that can hold
on to big games like this. Now, the Chiefs open
up as a nine point favorite at home. Tampa Bay
has been kind of sold as the team to watch
in the NFC South, especially now when you consider how
quickly the New Orleans Saints have fallen apart. Dennis Allen

(01:33):
fired today as the Saints head coach. It will be
one of the things to keep an eye on is
how bad can the NFC South be or how bad
will the NFC South winner be? Now? The Bucks four
and four. They played tonight. The Atlanta Falcons take out
the Cowboys yesterday. They're six and three with Kirk o

(01:54):
Chain's Kirk Cousins, but fans know the calendar flips over
her Cousins struggles in the month of November trying to
get Yes, let's keep it moving here. Yes, the Kansas
City Chiefs, they've reached the point where they're trying to
make history every single week. Patrick Mahomes is the fastest

(02:16):
player in NFL history to reach thirty thousand yards. He
did that last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Travis Kelce.
He's sitting one reception shy of passing Tony Gonzalez for
the franchise record in touchdown catches. The Chiefs are seven
to zero, the last unbeaten team in the league. If

(02:38):
they can continue, then will be winning their fourteenth game.
Going back to last season, Now, we all remember how
good of a team that that seven New England Patriots
team that went eighteen and one couldn't get the job
done in the championship game against the New York Giants.
But we are now sitting at that precipice. When you

(03:00):
look at the Chiefs schedule, they have a shot to
do the unthinkable. Now, again, seven to zero is not
necessarily nineteen and oh, but you look at their schedule.
They get done with the Bucks tonight, then they have
a game against the Denver Broncos at home. The next
tough test will be in Buffalo when they play the Bills.

(03:24):
That game is the seventeenth of November. The rest of
the schedule, though they have the Texans at home, they
got to go to Pittsburgh. But this is a doable
stretch of games for Kansas City. If they want to
try to win out, they might have the shot to
do it. They would be the team I think that

(03:44):
most would pick if there was ever going to be
a team that went undefeated. It feels fitting that the
Chiefs trying to get their third title in four years
would be that type of would be that team. They're
also trying to not only win their third title, they're
trying to win their fourth title in five years. Three peep.
It's helped that they brought back a Kareem Hunt. If

(04:04):
you remember, Hunt played most of his career in Cleveland,
playing very well. He has rejoined his old team. And
also the Chiefs made a massive trade. They brought in
DeAndre Hopkins, who had a very good career in Houston
before getting bounced around the league now with the Chiefs,
and according to Andy Reid, he has been shocked how

(04:25):
quickly these two have kind of come together. Most quarterbacks
need time to develop chemistry with their number one receiver.
But of course we saw last year the number one
receiver was essentially Travis Kelcey kind of I guess he
would be the number one receiver for Patrick Mahons. But

(04:46):
then the drop off between Kelsey and Juju Smith Schuster
was number two, right, there wasn't There's a huge drop
off from your one to year two. And this year's
team for the Chiefs, they've been able to to relax
on how much they need Travis kelce even with Rashid
Rice going out with the season and injury injury training

(05:07):
for Hopkins, even at an older age, makes sense. The
Chiefs look like the type of team that can really
make some noise. Of course they're gonna make some noise,
but they look like the type of team that can
make some noise when we continue to talk about them
in the precipice of history of the rest of the NFL.
So we're excited, but we'll see that game. That game
kicks off tonight seven to fifteen pm. Chiefs versus the

(05:30):
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Other headlines from today, of course, Dennis Allen,
the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, gets the can.
He is kicking the can down the road. He is
fired by the Saints in what was a move that
I think many people saw coming, which is disappointing for
Saints fans. You went into the season thinking, with how

(05:54):
well that you played the first two games of the
year with Kareem Hunt, or correction, with Alvin Kamara and
Derek hen and Derek Carr, this was the type of
team that could make potentially a little bit of a run.
Not the case. The Saints sit of two to seven,
the same record as the Carolina Panthers. That is not
the type of company that she won. Also, when you

(06:16):
look at the point differential for the Saints, this is bad.
They're in the bottom third of the league in point differential.
In fact, if this if the Panthers didn't exist, this
team is twenty two point differential in the negative. The
Panthers one hundred and forty six by far the worst

(06:37):
team in the NFL. But the Panthers coming off a win. Saints, however,
seven straight losses, So that makes sense why Dennis Allen
is given the boot. Now we don't have the I
don't think they. They haven't mentioned or haven't named the
interim head coach just yet for the Saints. Other firings,

(07:00):
the Raiders fired two of their rowcs as the Raiders
struggle at two and seven. As well, all these teams
competing for the chance to potentially draft Tamas Hunter, Shadorgh
Sanders and a lot of other very talented college players
trying to figure out who's going to get the number

(07:20):
one overall pick. As we continue down that road. Now,
a team that has not struggled, the team that has
been on the winning side of things recently, is the
Detroit Lions, who are at seven to one looking like
the team to beat in the NFC. Before the season,
they weren't picked to win the NFC North. It was

(07:41):
the Green Bay Packers in many books. Now the Lions
after losing the NFC championship last year. Back on the Horse,
Dan Campbell talked about the connection between his quarterback Jared
Goff and Amond Saint Brown, who might be the best
receiver in football.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, the connection between those it's special. Those two have
been clicking now for four years, really three and a half.
You know, it started about halfway through that twenty one
season and it's just it's built from there. And you know,
if if you're a quarterback, we got a dang good one.
But it's easy to throw to a guy like Saint
Brown because he gets open and he's got body control, balance,

(08:23):
he can separate, he's got quickness, he's got play speed,
strong hands, and his body demeanor tells you, man, if
I'm a quarterback, you got a real good idea what
he's doing.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Monte Brown tied for second in the NFL this season
with touchdown receptions with six. He has been the story
for the Lions as the Lions continue to fight their
way and potentially end up back in the NFC Championship
Game again this season. We come back Steve Sarkejian's Monday

(08:56):
morning press conference. We have clips from that talking about
the SEC. Is he cutting down on fake injuries to
the University of Florida this Saturday at eleven am kickoff?
What does he expect? What are his players expecting for
this big SEC matchup, a home game against the Gators.
We'll have that and more next on The Craig Ways Show,
Andresim will filling in for Craig Way on sports Radio

(09:19):
