Like, yeah you, KNOW i think from an assistant coaches
perspective where it's adjusted some you, know and then it's

seniors to get to, camp to get them to, camp
and then get them to come to a game in

the players have been on our campus last year to
come to a.

On our, campus you, know this spring right to come
to practice to some. Degree and now the assistant coaches
are going out in spring really to home visit the kids,
now which is incredible to, Think, like as a head,
COACH i don't do home visits, anymore which that used
to be always felt as a head coach might have
been the most important aspect of your job was was

getting into the home of a of a, recruit especially
one that was still in the decision making. Process now
the assistant coaches are doing, that and now they're on
the road spring recruiting for your twenty seven's to come to, camp,
Right so the whole thing is kind of sped up that,
way you. Know so my perspective has adjusted, some you, know,

obviously and for the assistant coaches it's adjusted. Some and you, know,
again being, ADAPTABLE i think is the key right, now
and and and being really well organized and where our
coaches are going and what we're trying to. Do and you,
KNOW i can tell you our guys are our hammer
in the state Of texas this.

Week you, know we don't go out as early.

As maybe some other schools because our, spring our spring
ball goes a little. Later so we have to be
really efficient here over the next month to make sure
that we're getting the right stuff done.

Well with the loss of that's not experienced as it
happened in the past few. Years how does it kind
of developmental process kind of what you've had with.

Someone, Yeah, NOW i think that the, reason you, know
the way we did winter and the way we did
spring ball was really to get us to a point
to where our summer could now resemble what the summers
of the past.

Were that's why we really.

Wanted to take our time and teach really well in
springball to get so many of these new faces kind
of up to, speed.

Know, historically AGAIN i hate to kind, of you, know
turn back the clock all the, time but you, remember
mostly the kids we signed didn't used to show up Until,
june and so you were kind of had a split, team,
Right you had all these vets and then you had
these all these new, faces and you kind of had
to balance that, act and we didn't have the ability
to be on the field and do any skill development with.

Them and so the idea that, yes we lost.

Some veteran, players but of the twenty five high school
kids we, signed twenty two of them are on campus.
Now twenty one of them were in springball with, us
And jonah was obviously doing baseball and then coming to
a little bit of, football but not a ton so
and then with the five transfers that came for spring
we got those guys pretty far along.

Now so now when summer rolls, around you.

Know i've got a handful of high school, kids And
i've got a handful of transfers that maybe don't know
all the nuances of what we, do but really the
bulk of our team now, does so we should be
able to hit the, round hit the ground running pretty
good In june And july and be pretty aggressive with.
That and, ALSO i, think you, know what we're able
to do this winter in spring is really start to

push some guys to to a leadership.

Role that maybe weren't quite there.

Yet and now we feel very comfortable about where they're
at in the program that that they can handle that
this summer.

backs the defensive tackle position.

And kiadre And firing And padre and his passionate could

Developed guys having in that position out for. You and
then also when you're attack it so hard to.

Transfer, YEAH i think a couple of things on, that you. Know,
one you, Know i've been banging this, drum you, know
since since we, arrived AND i think a lot of
the times the offensive line got the attention of. This
but you win games at the line of, Scrimmage you
win championships at the line of. Scrimmage and and WHEN
i always used to talk about big, humans you, know,

again the offensive line got a lot of that attention
because we felt like that was the immediate need to
ramp up that. Recruiting but really on the defensive side
of the, ball we were fortunate when we got here
that that room had some really good players in.

It you, know all.

Six of those guys that that have gotten drafted in
the last three years we. Inherited you, Know murph was
the only guy that was in that one, class and
Then Baron surrell obviously in this year's. Class they were
they were in that class right WHEN i got here In.
January they signed In. December the rest of those guys
were on the, roster you, know and and so we
inherited those, guys and you, KNOW i think we did

a pretty good job of continuing their development to get
them to that to that. Stage and so, we LIKE i,
said we've been fortunate to have a very good defensive.
FRONT i think that allowed us to grow in the.
Secondary that allowed us to recruit some really high level
athletic players on the edge and at the linebacker position
to help with.

That but like, anything you, know when.

You look at us when it comes to the, portal
like we're trying to fill needs and for a variety of,
reasons we've had some real attrition at the defensive line.
Spot LIKE i, said for a variety of, reasons certain
players aren't here, anymore and you have to get your numbers.
Right when you think about where my mind is, At
i'm thinking about sixteen seventeen games, again and having the

right amount of depth on the defensive front is critical
for us to play the style of football that we
want to. Play AND i thought we've done a really
nice job of addressing needs on the defensive, front not
only in the winter transfer, portal but obviously here in
the spring to go along with some of our young players.

DEVELOP i think it's going to be a nice combination
of players that is going to allow the rest of
that defense to play the style of defense that we
want to. Play, hey but the portal just, closing what's

know a lot of them are knocking on a lot,

teams and and a few of them have really stood

Two years in this spring obviously due to an attrition guys,
moving on due to a, couple inches he's really had
to lead with the knowledge base that he gained the last.

guy might run the wrong route or not not run
a route at the, right depth or an offensive line
not not make the right line call to pick up.
A pressure and so it really forced him to have
to have those offline conversations when his series was done
to help lead younger players like those older players helped

i thought it was it was great. For him now
we all see the, physical ability we all see the
