Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Kyle Field in College Station. It's the Texas Longhorns
against the Texas e and m Aggie's.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
For the first time in thirteen years.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Read out of the shotgun on fourth down half the
stamp turns, hands it in to Daniels.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I don't know if you got it.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Let's see where they marked it where Longhorts say they've
come up with a stop. Let's see if they stopped him.
They have Lawhorns come up with a fourth down stop.
Barren Surrell makes the big stuff for Texas or eave
of the stamp back to throw.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Pressure coming, he escapes. A man rolls right, throws deep.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Down field, and that past is intercepted by Malik Muhammad
Many or is it Michael's taff? They were both down
there and it's Bookie's taff who comes down with a
pit for Texas inside the Longhorns ten yard line. Throwe
down to ten off the right half of the Texas
twenty two shotgun snap back to yours under pressure escape,
A man rolls white, he'll run when to the twenty five,

(00:55):
When to the.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Thirty, to the forty, till the forty.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Five to the midfield, and they say he stepped out
of bounds and second down, it's a handoff Wisner white
side breaks a tackle, turns it up field to the
forty thirty five. In the first down, Gray Wisner was
able to break out of two tackles finally will leave.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
The third ran him out of bounds, but it's.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Seventeen yards for Weisner in the first down for Texas
and on fourth down, Arch Manning is in at quarterback,
Manning to take the snap.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
On fourth and two.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
March with a snap, turns and keeps it himself. Manning
hands the first down inside the town.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
He's got on the line.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
March's Manning read with the snap in his back of
the throw looks right under pressure and he goes down
coming in to sack him. Was burning Brodney almost kind
of on the prior play. He didn't miss that time,
and he drops him for a loss all the way
back to the forty nine yard line, a loss at seven.
On second down, viewers back, the throw sets up, goes

(01:57):
deep down the boundary, looking down field, got a man
and got matt Golden. Matthew Golden down the boundary, waited
under it and pulled it in. All went out inside
the Texas a and m twenty five yard line. They'll
mark this football down at the act twenty three and
so it's a gain of forty forty yards. I'm second

(02:17):
down from the AGGI seven yours with a snap, looks
pumps fires for the enzone for tat Blue. Did he
catch it? Did he hold on to it? No?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Forced down on the.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Back of the end zone, and they're going to stop play.
And there's a very good reason for this. Looking at
the replay gen Blue pass, it has a foot down,
shoved out on the back of the end zone, hits
the ground and is.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Only late loses it.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
But when youwers thought it was a touchdown, I think
the Longhorns thought it was a touchdown, and so they'll
wait for the review. After video review, the receiver had
it put down and maintained possession of the bar the round.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
It is a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
The second Longborn touchdown initially ruled out a touchdown and
then overturn on replay review. Viewers play action and looks
to throw wind with some time going deep downfield looking
for it full top forty down to the thirty yard
line out of bounds. Is Ryan wing go big hit

(03:23):
downfield a Wigo he stepped out of bounds of the
thirty and completed the catch and the run first in
ten Texas. The ball is at the Texas A and
M thirty yard line. It's a thirty five yard game.
Back to Quinn stets up, look stepped up with the
pocket the AA well look it throw it. Ball caught
inside the twenty better. Helm hurls a tackler. Ben has

(03:43):
a first down that viewers to helm. Combination works so
well on the improv and it works again, this time
for twenty two yards. This is gonna be a twenty
eight yard truck off the righte. Hash Bark out of
the hold of Michael kuhn Land singles to snap.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Into the north end.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Song. The field goal is up and it is good
and burd Auburn comes through again knocks home the twenty
eight yard field goal. When the log Horns now lead
at seventeen to nothing, torn down there read from the shotgun.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Let's look for the Loghorns.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Now they back off shotgun stamp back tomar So reed
looking still look, scrambles right, takes off Loghorns.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
We'll get it short of the first down. Only a
one yard.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Game till the forty two. Anthony Hill wraps him up.
Texas takes over read under center, has it, turns.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Heads off down got Daniels. The log Hoards gotta beat that.
Burk brings it down. The stop of the year. Flock
Texas defense and the log Horns take over on their
own forty yard line. Shotgun snap back to read again.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Looky lookie, log Worns have him, lost him and now.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
He's hit from my eyeby s ray Horton follow loose
on the turn.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Logharts have it ballgame. Verdon Broughton hops on the football.
The Longhorns have it eighty nine seconds away from wrapping
this one up. Final play of the game, quinn Ewers
puts down the knee. For thirteen years, long Horn fans
have said seventy six thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
And five the series number.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Now it's seventy seven, thirty seven and five. The Longhorns
pick up right where they left off thirteen years ago,
coming to Kyle Field and beating the Aggies up Texas
A and M. Final score tonight in College Station, the
Texas Longbarns seventeen, the Texas A and m Aggies seven.
The Longhorns are headed to the SEC Championship next Saturday

(05:48):
in Atlanta, and it's hot in Atlanta for a rematch
with the Georgia Bulldogs. Third hour of the program here
on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone. Glad to
have you with us Craig Way alongside the producer Cameron Parker,
who put together that nice audio montage of the Longhorn victory.

(06:08):
And now Texas had eleven and one for the second
straight year, prepares to play in a conference championship game
for the second straight year, of course, in twenty twenty three.
Last year, it was one year ago today, the Texas
won the Big Twelve title and their final year in
the conference, beating Oklahoma State forty nine to twenty one.
What in the world happened to Oklahoma State this year?

(06:32):
They were one of the favorites to win the league. Yeah,
and he went three to nine. They did not win
a conference game. The only time it's ever happened to
them in Big Twelve play. The last game Oklahoma State
one was on September twenty fourth.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
That's the last game they won this year. Amazing.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Meanwhile, on the other end of that, Arizona State picked
to finish at the bottom, dead last in the league
and they're in the conference championship game. And Kenny Dillingham
deserves certainly Big Twelve Coach of the Year honors, and
he may be up for National Coach of the Year honors.
What a job he has done there at Arizona State.

(07:15):
They'll play Iowa State in the Big Twelve championship game.
Iowa Stall got there by virtue of their win over
Kansas State in Farmageddon on Saturday night up in names.
Had Case State won that game, b why you would

(07:35):
have gone to the Big Twelve Championship, but they didn't.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I was listening to.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Their post game they had the late night game, and
on the drive back from college station listening to their game.
All of us in the car driving back and we
were listening to their game and their post game show
as well. I also had this happen to me, Cameron.
Of course, because Texas has had both football and basketball
conflicts and road travel over these past three weeks, I've

(08:01):
not been able to be on high school Scoreboard Live
like I normally do on Friday nights during football season,
nor have I been able to call any playoff games
for them through the first three weeks due to the
travel and University of Texas game conflicts.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
But I have popped on the show. They've had me
on by.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Zoom, both on my laptop, on my iPad, on the
road at home.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Things like that.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
We have discussed the possibility of me hopping on the show.
After being done with the Texas Texas A and M
game on Saturday night, because their show was going to follow,
they televised Desto against Willis and the Soda. It was
more entertaining than the final score indicated. Willis jumped a quickly,
Desta got it in gear, was up like forty two

(08:52):
to fourteen, and third Cortery he thought, okay, it's over.
Willis scores twenty one. Un answered it's a one score
game at forty two to thirty five. And then the
Soda scores the final ten points of again they went
fifty five to thirty five, and so they were a
little late getting into the scoreboard, but they said they
could still work me in. Well, we get off the air,
as you know, well after eleven o'clock and I was

(09:17):
going to set up to do this live hit via
zoom with the high school scoreboard crew on FanDuel Sports Network.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I was going to set up to do that, and
I couldn't.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I couldn't work out of our broadcast boot because our engineer,
Greg Clingsmith was breaking down the booth and it would
have been too difficult to do it in the National
Radio booth the next door. So I had texted them
and I said, I don't think it'll work. I don't
think I'm gonna be able to hop on. I don't
have Wi Fi. And the person who sets all this
up called me and said, would you be available to

(09:55):
FaceTime us. I said yeah, I could do that. I
was already driving. I said, let me pull over here.
So I pulled into the parking lot of a church
in Brian. We just pulled out and so I pulled
in this parking lot and a pull up FaceTime and
they get me on and they said, wow, where are you?

(10:17):
And I said, well, I I had you know, we
we couldn't stay in the press box. I didn't have
any Wi Fi status. So I pulled into this church
parking lot to do this. Blah blah blah blah blah.
So we do the We do the conversation with Aaron
Hartigan and Greg Tepper and Cep Stackles also on the desk.
So we get done with a deal and Aaron Hartigan says, okay, thanks,

(10:41):
We're gonna let you go get some chicken. That's Craig
Waite call us from the church's parking lot. She thought
that was that church is fried.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Chickens, Church is chicken. I was not a church's chicken.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
We did stop at a convenience store and called well
on the way back. That's another, by the way, another
final I'm another byproduct of calling games at night in
college station. No matter the sport football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball,
especially football. However, that on your drive back, it is

(11:14):
inevitable if you stop at any convenience store along that
ninety five mile route in there, you're going to see
long WRN fans because other people were wanting to do
They want to get a soft drink, a cup of coffee,
use the bathroom, grab a snack, something like that. Sure enough,
the one we pulled into it lots of lots of
fans and the water Burger. The line I saw at
the water Burger and Calwell was wrapped.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Around the building there. They were doing a.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Lively trade there Saturday night, the long wards with the
win and coming up. We're gonna hear more from long
wrt's head coach, Steve Sarkisian when we continue on Sports
Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
