his right and Wingo.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You forget about this one, Ryan Wingo.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
What play seventy five yards for a longboard touchdown or down?
Less than a yard to go out of a pistol
set macal to take the down? Has it turns hands?
Oh my goodness, Henderson blasted by ty Anthony Smith, the
former Jasper Bulldog. Put the bite on Henderson and the

(02:44):
longboards takeover on down play action roll back to the left.
Man he throwing deep down toill look at the Wingo leap.
He catch the Ryan Ringo and he has the first
down in the side of the try. He might even
have got face past on the tackle as he was

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Royal, Texas Memorial Stadium. And that's how it went down
on Saturday nights in the ATX, Texas Longhorns with the
win and a little bonus boot as a result of that,
up to number one in the AP Top twenty five
College Football poll. Good afternoon, everybody, welcome to the program

(04:38):
here on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
My name is Craig Way. Glad to have you with
us on.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
A Longhorns Monday presentation of the program. Of course, our
Long Orange Monday always begins from the UT campus at
eleven o'clock on Monday morning. We come on with our
Long Orange Monday program at eleven and that's the run
up to long Horn head coach t Sarcasian's weekly news conference,
which we bring to you in its entirety live at

(05:05):
eleven thirty every Monday here on his own and then
on this program we bring you highlights from that news conference,
which we will this afternoon. In all three hours of
the program, we also includes the producer Cameron D.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Parker. The D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas, as.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
In, in the case of Cameron, didn't, doesn't the D
stand for didn't? I tell you, guys, there's a reason
why I'm not watching the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Boy. It kind of makes you look smart.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I don't know, Correg I think any any Cowboy fan
that's followed this organization kind of knew this was coming.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I don't want to be it.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Didn't I tell you that type of guy, because that's
just that's just no fun. But forty four points, are
you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Did the Cowboys believe.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
They won the Super Bowl after beating the Browns last week,
because did they even practice this past week?

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I think in the last eighteen possessions at AIGHTE and
T Stadium, going back to the Packers win in the
playoffs forty eight thirty two in the Saints forty four
to nineteen win, I think the Dallas defense has only
forced three punts and did not give up a drive
that did not end in Well, technically, I think four
drives did not end in points. I think two were

(06:20):
punts and two one was an interception from Derek Carbay
it was three points. I don't know, it doesn't matter.
They got torched, absolutely torched at home. Now it's only
week two, and you know, you look at the Ravens
who are zero and two and the Bengals oh and two,
So it could be a lot worse. But a what
a disgusting effort from the Cowboys on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I think the biggest shock is that what happened to
the defense. I know everybody wants to blame Dak for stuff.
There were two interceptions, one receiver slips the other one
definitely was a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
It was a Misstrow. It was not a good throw
and was picked off.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
But my goodness, they were already well down before a
lot of those problems began on the offensive side. The
defense just basically got torched the entire first time. We
get thirty five points. It was the most Cowboy team
has given up in the first half of the franchise.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
History, Craig.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Their last two home games, they given up ninety two points,
but did ninety two points.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
No doubt, and and a point.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Well may going back to that playoff game, but why
was the defense that we saw on the field in
Cleveland so vastly different than the defense we saw at
Jerry World yesterday?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Look great? Right?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I mean the defensive line was putting pressure on the
Sean Watson. He looked awful. Now he looked a little
bit better yesterday. Maybe the Browns offense is just that bad,
or or maybe the Cowboys defense just took a week
off from practice, because I mean, from that first drive,
just like the Green Bay game, two plays at uh oh,
there goes a lobby, Oh tomorrow touchdown?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Oh okay, seven to nothing?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
You know, okay, we just you know, first drive of
the game, Cowboys going down the field, get a field goal, Okay,
defense gonna lock in. Nope, seventy yard touchdo pass from
Derek Carr. I mean it was thirty five to sixteen
at halftime. Yeah, absolutely insane, Absolutely insane. And that's why
that's why not watching the NOAs Cowboys this year.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Like I said, it makes you look smart, that decision,
and not to watch, uh said there one point the
third quarter going okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Well.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Both our teams. That's brutal, and I gave up on
that early. The Rams look all for that there.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
As bad as the Cowboys defense looks, that's how bad
the Rams offensive line looks.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
It was horrible. I felt sorry for Matthew Stafford's getting clobbered.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Again and again and again. And they can't block. Couldn't
block on a fourth and one run. It couldn't block
on red zone passes to the end zone, couldn't block
when they were in there, and they were in a
world of trouble and Sean mcgad they've got some serious
soul searching to do right now. They're owing too and
they got to figure out something uh there with regard
to that. But anyway, there's a lot to get to obviously,

(09:01):
Longhorn related coming up here in this long orange Bundy
here in a few minutes, we're going to hear from
head coach Steve Sarkisian. We will also take a look back,
obviously at the winterver utsa uh getting ready for the
Warhawks of ul Monroe. I can let you know now
that the first, for the first time ever ever as

(09:24):
a member of the Southeastern Conference, the Texas Longhorns have
are encountering the dreaded six day selection window that's going
to happen for the Mississippi State game. But it's a
little bit different in the Big twelve the selection window.
If it was six days, you could be kicking off
anytime from eleven am to seven at night.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
It was like getting a package from FedEx. Hey, it
might be delivered in between eight am and apm.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
This is it's going to be one of two times,
either two thirty or three fifteen. So there's not that
much difference on that two thirty or three fifteen.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
On that.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
So and that'll determine what time our airtime is. If
it's too thirty, then that means you guys will take
care at eleven thirty from the hook, him hangout at
Bevo Boulevard where you were and braved immense hate over
the week on Saturway.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Goodness, Yeah hot, it was hot.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yeah, because it was hot up in the booth, so
I can imagine how hot it had to be down there.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
From being in the press box for for the two games.
You know, Texts obviously wearing their home burn orange threads
and C. J. Fogol from mont Texas Football went out
to be during the Coloro State game. He was like, Hey,
look at Alfred Collins jersey and look at Jermaine Lola's jersey,
both playing the same amount of time. But Alfred collins
jersey was a different shade of burn orange because he

(10:50):
was sweating so much. That was me and Mark Henry
on Saturday. Mark Henry was worn a different shade of
burn orange than me in our pre game show.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
But it was hot for the everybody out there.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, So it could be anywhere from eleven to seven
in the past. This is either going to be two
thirty or three fifteen the Mississippi State game. Now we
know the game this Saturday night will be at seven,
so things will be a little bit cooler by kickoff.
So that but that Mississippi State game is a six
D A TV selection window. If it's two thirty, our

(11:22):
coverage begins at eleven thirty am on that Saturday, the
twenty eighth. Uh. If it's three fifteen, it'll begin at
noon noon, our coverage at noon and the kickoff at
three fifteen, So that will be for the SEC opener.
So anyway, there's some stuff and letting you know about that,
and then coming up, we're gonna hear from head coach

(11:43):
Steve Sarkisian from the weekly news conference. We brought it
to you in its entirety live as it happened, and
we're going to bring you highlights from that coming up,
and a lot more to get to for this newly
minted number one.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
In the nation football team.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
We'll get to that coming up as well here on
sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone and where you
can all wakes listen to us for free on the
iHeartRadio app.
