Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Kyle Field in College Station. It's the Texas Lawhorns
against the Texas A and m Aggie's for the first
time in thirteen years.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Read out of.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
The shotgun on ford down, has the snap turns, hands
it in to Daniels. I don't know if he got it.
Let's see where they market where the Longhorns say they've
come up with a stop. Let's see if they stopped him.
They have Lawhorns come up with the fourth down stuff.
Barren Surrell makes the big stuff for Texas, or even
to the snap back to throw pressure coming he escapes.

(00:32):
A man rolls right, throws deep down field and that
past he is intercepted by Malik Muhammad Many or is
it Michael's taft. They were both down there, and it's
Nookie's taff who comes down with a pit for Texas
inside the Lawhorns ten yard line throth down in ten
off the right half of the Texas twenty two shotgun
snap back to yours under pressure escape, A man rolls right,

(00:53):
he'll run when to the twenty five, When to the thirty,
to the forty, to the forty five, to the midfield,
and they say he stepped out of bounds and second down,
it's a handoff. Wisner right side breaks a tackle. It
turns it up feel to the forty thirty five of
the first down tray. Wisner was able to break out
of two tackles finally will leave. The third ran him

(01:14):
out of bounds, but it's seventeen yards for Wisner in
the first down for Texas and on fourth down, Arch
Manning is in at quarterback, Manning to take the snap
on fourth and two, Arch with a stap, turns and
keeps it himself. Manning hands the first down inside the ten.
He's fill a doll line. Arch Manning breath with the

(01:36):
stamp in his back of the throat, looks right under
pressure and he goes down coming in to sack him.
Was burning. Brodney almost got him on the prior play.
He didn't miss that time, and he drops him for
a loss all the way back to the forty nine
yard line, a loss of seventh. On second down, viewers back,
the throw sets up, goes deep down the boundary looking

(01:58):
down field. Got a man and it's got matt Golden.
Matthew Golden down the boundary waited under it and pulled
it in all the way down inside the Texas A
and M twenty five yard line. They'll mark this football
down at the age twenty three, and so it's a
game of forty forty yards. I'm second down from the

(02:19):
aggie seven yours with a staff looks pumps fires the
end zone for Teat and Blue. Did he catch it?
Did he hold onto it? No? Forced out of the
back of the end zone, and they're going to stop playing.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
And there's a very good reason for this.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Looking at the replay, Jan Blue has it, has a
foot down, shoved out of the back of the end zone,
hits the ground and is only late loses it. But
quinn Ewers thought it was a touchdown. I think the
Longhorns thought it was a touchdown, and so they'll wait
for the review.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
After video, we're new the receiver had it put down.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
And maintained possession of the dog round wherever it touched down.
The second long worn touchdown initially ruled not a touchdown
and then overturn on replay review. Viewers play act and
looks to throw freends some time going deep downfield looking

(03:17):
for a fuck hop. Forty down to the thirty yard
line out of bounds is Ryan Wing go big hit
downfield and wo he stepped out of bounds at the
thirty and completed the catch and the run first in
ten Texas. The ball is at the Texas A and
HM thirty yard line. It's a thirty five yard game.
Back to Quinn steps up, look, steps up in the pocket.

(03:39):
Well look it throw it ball pot inside the twenty
cut her hill and hurls a tackler that adds a
first down that viewers to helm. Combination works so well
on the improv and it works again this time for
twenty two yards. This is gonna be a twenty eight
yard truck. On the right, Hash bark out of the
hole of Michael kahn Land sam lois to snap into

(04:03):
the north end. Song. The field goal is up and
it is good and Burt Auburn comes through again, knocks
home the twenty eight yard field goal and the log
Horns now lead at seventeen to nothing. Horn down there,
read from the shotgun. Let's look from the Loghorns. Now
they back off shotgun, stamp back tomorrow. So Red looking

(04:23):
still looking Scrambl's right takes off log Horns. We'll get
him short of the first down. Only a one yard game.
Till the forty two. Anthony Hill wraps him up. Texas
takes over read under center, has it turns heads off
down Ghost Daniels, The log Hoards gotta beat did Burn

(04:43):
brings it down the stop of the year, full on
Texas defense, and the log Horns take over on their
own forty yard line. Shotgun stamp back to read again,
looking looking. Log Worns had him, lost him and now
he's hit from my Hybeck Tray. Morton fall loose on
the turf. Loghorts have it ballgame. Verdon Broughton hops on

(05:06):
the football. The low Horns have its eighty nine seconds
away from wrapping this one up. Final play of the
game when viewers puts down the knee. For thirteen years,
Longhorn fans have said seventy six thirty seven and five
the series number. Now it's seventy seven, thirty seven and five.

(05:28):
The long Horns pick up right where they left off
thirteen years ago, coming to Kyle Field and beating the
Aggies of Texas A and m final score tonight in
College Station, the Texas Lowbarns seventeen, the Texas he and
m Aggies seven. The Longhorns are headed to the SEC
Championship next Saturday in Atlanta, which must mean this must

(05:53):
be Championship game week. How about that win on Saturday
nine in College Station thanks to the producer Cameron Parker
an excellent.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Job in cobbling all of that together.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
The highlights of the Texas log worns seventeen to seven
win over the Aggies of Texas A and M, taking
the Cotton lone Star Showdown, and Texas is now playing
in the SEC Championship Game. They finished in first place

(06:26):
in the SEC standings and now they have the task
of trying to even and out with the Georgia Bulldogs
who beat them back on October nineteenth here in Austin.
Good afternoon, everybody, Welcome to the program here on Sports
Radio AM thirteen under the Zone. My name is Craig Way.
I thank you very much for joining us. US, of course,

(06:47):
includes the producer Cameron D.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Parker.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
The D the birth certificate stands for Dallas, as in
his favorite football team that he refuses to watch, although
he did watch him against the Commanders, vowed not to
watch them. On Thanksgiving Day, methodically pull away from and
then hold on to beat the New York Football Giants.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Was did you live up to your word on that
or did you just need a pick at the game
on Thursday?

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Do not think I watched anything live. I did see
Demarvin Overshown's incredible concentration to pull down that pick six.
I mean you're playing Drew Locke and the Giants. So
but hey, five with five and seven, now.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Look at that telling me there's a chance now with.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
The Commanders winning, I think Dallas needs Washington to really
fall apart in and.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
They have one more head to headshot with them too, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
One more. So I don't know what their playoff percent chances.
I mean you're looking at five and seven right now,
and in this NFC, I mean your division, Craig, the
West is so stacked up, and it does look like
the fort Niners were eliminated last night with McCaffrey going
down for the entire season. I mean, who would have
thought Dallas and San Francisco had the same record, but
a below five hundred record at this point in December.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Here's how I look at this. And we'll talk more
NFL a little bit later on in the program, but
if you obviously count the division winners, it'll be Philadelphia
in the East, Detroit probably in the North.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I don't know the South. What's gonna be in the South.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
If I mean yet, two teams at six and six.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay control the tiebreaker.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, if you're a Falcons fan, I think you're starting
to call for Michael Pennix junior.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yeah. So you'd have a South Division winner and you
have a West Division winner, which is a mess. One
of those teams will win the West. Seattle right now
holds one game lead. The Cardinals and Rams are tied
for second at six and six, and the forty nine Ers,
despite being in last, are only two games back at
five and seven. Here's the thing with the NFC, which
they all play each other again, so they all control

(08:56):
their own destinies if they can get those tie breakers.
The Rams have the eyebreaker on Seattle currently, but not
the Cardinals, but they do the forty nine Ers, so
that that would be so anyway, they all have various things.
But my point is this, You're gonna get one team
out of the NFC West for sure, a division champion.
You're gonna get one team out of the NFC South
for sure, a division champion. You're gonna get the Eagles,

(09:18):
and you're gonna get probably Detroit. I'd say Green Bay
and Minnesota are probably gonna get wild cards. It leads
one spot, one spot Washington, you know who knows. So
that's probably what's gonna happen in the NFC. Uh, in
the ANFC, there's some things still up up in the
air and up for grabs. Texans had to hold on
for dear life and one. But anyway, we'll talk some

(09:39):
more NFL coming up. This being a Long Horns Monday,
and by the way, I'm not one hundred percent sure
about this, so I'm not gonna put the cart before
the horse. It might be our last Long Horns Monday
of the season. The reason why I say that is
there's the SEC Championship game coming up.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Now, win or lose.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
The university may choose not to do a press conference
on Monday with Sark. They might, but we heard nothing
on that, so don't know.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
We don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
If we have a Monday press it will have more
There will be more press conferences to come before the
college football playoff. And I do feel pretty comfortable and
confident in saying this Texas long run football team will
be in the college Football playoff after Saturday Nights.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Win, we'll get in all of that, but I don't
know when those would be, so who knows.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Put it this way, it's our final regularly scheduled long
runs Monday with SARK coming off of a weekend game.
It just happened to be the last game of the
regular season, the win over Texas A and M that
took Texas to eleven and one. For the second straight
year and for the second straight year, Texas will be
playing for a conference championship.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Last year, in.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Fact, it was one year ago today when the Longhorns
beat up on Oklahoma State forty nine to twenty one.
Had Jerry World that did there at at and T
Stadium in Arlington. They won forty nine to twenty one
to win. This Saturday will be the SEC championship game
at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, even my first time

(11:19):
ever to go into that building.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Kind of looking forward to that.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I really I've called a women's Final four game in
the Georgia Dome when Texas women reached the Final four
in two thousand and three and a narrow two point
loss to Yukon. I did that, and I was at
Super Bowl twenty eight when the Cowboys defeated the Buffalo
Bills thirty to thirteen. I was a media member and
I was in the Georgia Dome for that one when

(11:43):
the Cowboys won that It was way back before you
were born, and.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
When the Cowboys were successful.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
What was that like? Wow? So it was something else
pretty heady times up there, just like it is down
here when the football team in this down is successful.
But the Georgia Dome of course doesn't exist any more.
Mercedes Benz Stadium is there now. So Saturday afternoon we'll
bring you the SEC Championship Texas versus Georgia. Busy week

(12:11):
all ement. Tomorrow, Cameron and I leave for Raleigh, North
Carolina with the long worn men's basketball team. They're going
to play in the acc SEC Challenge against the North
Carolina State Wolfpack on Wednesday night. That is about an
eight point fifteen tip off. We'll be on the air
at seven point thirty here on the Zone and on
ninety eight one Cavett on Wednesday night and then Thursday

(12:36):
Thursday where I fly to South Bend from Raleigh and
Thursday night. The Texas women ranked fourth in the country
play tenth rank Notre Dame. They were number three until
they got upset by TCU of the weekend down and
I think it was Graham Cayman down in one of
the island holiday tournaments. But they'll play Notre Dame on
Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
At the Joyce. I think it's called it Athletic compecause.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
I've never done a basketball game and Notre Dameland, I've
done football. I've never done a basketball game, men's or women.
So anyway, that'll be Thursday night and then from there Thursday,
I will fly to Atlanta Friday morning and check in
from Atlanta during the show on Friday, so we'll do
that leading up to all that.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
So it's a busy week, no doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
There's playing talking about gigantic high school football game Friday
night rematch Westlakelake Travis. They're playing at the Palace on
Parmer at seven o'clock. That's gonna be a live telecast
on KBVO. So there's that, and there's other teams that
are still from the area. Vandergriff is playing Friday night
at Bobcats Stadium in San Marcus. They're playing Harlan High

(13:46):
of San Antonio. You have Wimberley still in the playoffs,
you have Lanto still in the playoffs. So there's area
teams still alive as well. So a lot to get
to on the program. So up next we're gonna hear
us we do every Monday from Longhorn's head coach, Steve Sarkeesian.
Coach Sark from the weekly news conference that we brought
to you live this morning. You'll hear comments from that

(14:07):
coming up next here on Sports Radio AM thirteen under
the Zone and where you can always listen to us
for absolutely not a free on the iHeartRadio app.
