Speaker 1 (00:02):
We're back.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's the Craig Way Show with Hall of Fame broadcaster
and voice of the Texas long halfs Craig Way.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Back here on a Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
And yeah, it was a sweet moment for Texas with
the win over Texas A and M. The three top
ten wins probably still won't be enough to get them
into the college football playoff. We were talking about that
last week with the editor in chief of Dave Campbell's
Texas Football magazine, Greg Tepper, and tep Joins is now
on the hotline, you know, tap the Texas win.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Whether folks want to believe it or not.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
The Texas win over A and M did not did
not affect the Longhorns and the Dave Campbell's Texas Football
power Pole.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
They were at number three. They stayed at number three.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
What it did do was to drop Texas A and
M from the one slot in that and push Texas
Tech in to that one spot with the Red Raiders
now holding down that one spot.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Well because one of those teams is playing for conference
championship this weekend and and everyone.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Else is waiting around.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
But yeah, I mean, look, Texas Tech took care of
their business. They had the one hiccup, obviously against Arizona State,
but since then they have been rolling. And I think
that I thought what they did this past weekend and
it flew under the radar because it was a quote
unquote meaningless game against a poor West Virginia team. But
for Texas Tech, who had everything locked up, nothing was

(01:26):
going to change as far as they're already in the
Big Twelve Championship by virtue of what had happened on
Friday night. For them to go and to really send
a statement that they are that they are coming for
it all in their win over West Virginia, I thought
was very, very impressive. And so yeah, they've they finished
the season strong. Tech, Texas finished the season strong.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
A and M maybe not so much.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, here's an interesting thing. Tell me what you think
of this.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
I've heard from a lot of Texas Tech fans and
they're almost kind of divided on this one issue, and
that is with Texas HAN and M losing, there's a
decent shot that Tech could move into a top four
and be in position, especially if they win the Big Twelve,
to get a buy. But I've heard from an equal
number of Red Raider fans who don't want them to

(02:16):
get a buye. They're that confident of the winning of
five versus twelve game and would like for them and
would love to have a home playoff game and love it.
I've also heard some similar things from Aggie fans, although
I don't believe that quite as much, because they would
have loved to have had the perfect season, the win
over Texas and the bye. But they can console themselves
with the fact they're in all probability going to have

(02:37):
a home playoff game.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
It'll look It kind of depends on what you're in
this for, right. If you are the type of fan
and your end goal is if your text let's say
Tech and Tech for example, if your goal is I want.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Texas Tech to win a national championship.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
The number one thing I want is for them to
win a national championship, then you.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Say, of course you want to buy it. You want
to advance in the next round. That's sense, of course,
that's what you want.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
But if you are in this fo I want there
to be the most memorable, most remarkable scene possible in
the in the my my favorite team's home stadium.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Uh, then you want to then you want to host.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
The game because uh, I mean, you can't imagine, there's
never been.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
They don't play.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Conference championship games at least at the Big twelve level,
uh it, at home anymore? They don't do You know
that they used to be the way back when that
they would play perhaps conference championship games, you know, with
the team hosting. You don't get that anymore. So all
these high stakes games. This would be the highest stakes
game in love it football history basically. So I can

(03:50):
certainly understand somebody wanting that.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
But again, if your.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Goal is and you're and you're a Red Raider fan
or you're an Agi fan, we want to win the
national championship, of course you take the buy. Of course
you want to that top four. You want to you know,
get next your week of rest, you want to get
a next your week of game planning and figure things out.
Of course that's what you want. But I can also
understand the people who are like, no, let's let's have it,
let's have a fun time in Lubbock.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Well, and and I think it's a safe bet that
at and T Stadium is going to be Jerry World
is going to be a wash in Red and a
black b Yu always travels well, their fan base does travel.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Well.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
That said, I think Texas Tech is going to dominate
the fans spectacle there in Arlington.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
This Saturday, well, especially considering they haven't been in a
big cour they've been a conference championship game ever, I
mean functionally, you know, the advent of the of the
there there have been obviously very high stakes games that
were de facto conference championship games. But for tec to Tech,
they've been waiting a long, long long time for a
game with this high of stakes in it. And let's

(04:54):
not overlook the fact that, you know, if they lose
this game to b YU, things do get a little
bit tricky.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
You could certainly see a universe.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
In which the college Football Playoffs Committee decides to get
a little.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Bit wacky and say, well, let's really take a look
at this schedule.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
You know, that is one of the things I think
techniques to be wary of is you know, I've said,
this of course is the beauty contest, This is not
you know, these are I've always said, these are television
executives making television decisions, not football executives making football decisions.
And Texas Tech has as fun as they have been,
they are not the blue blood brand name that like
Notre Dame is right, they're not the blue blood brand

(05:36):
name that.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Even Texas is. And so for Tech, you need to
leave no doubts.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
You need to go out there and make sure you
win this game on Saturday and make it a no
doubter or absolutely block them in and then you know,
then at that point complain about seeding, because that would
be what we would file under the under the heading
of good problems.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Where do you Where do you stand right now with
A and M?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
The mere fact that they're probably tonight going to be
in the five or six or maybe even seven slots
and so losing the buy not getting to play for
a conference championship, but they will get to play a
home playoff game. But obviously the loss to your arts
rival for the second year in a row stings.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Where do you just come with the aggies right now?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I think that if you are A and M, you're
obviously disappointed, and I think that what you saw was
all of the little things that could have cost you
before but didn't finally come up and come and bite
you in the rear end. An inability to stop the
run at times has been a real problem for them,
and it was ages the Texa team that quite frankly,

(06:38):
it has not been very good at running ball this year,
but suddenly found their groove when Tray Weisner going off.
I think that you saw a quarterback in Marcel Reid
who sometimes when you make him go through his second
and third progressions, is not as accurate and not as
sharp as he is on that first three.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I think you saw a lot of those things.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
And so look, it's a disappointing way to end the
season for a variety of reasons for college football. Plaoff
reasons in all of the water cooler reasons, but everything's
still right out there in front of them. I'm absolutely
fascinated to see where they end up as far as
seeding is concerned, in what those matchups could look like,
because there's a really big difference. You mentioned there're gonna
be five, six or seven, where there's a big difference

(07:23):
between that because if you're five and you're hosting a
team like let's say they host the winner of the
AAC Championship game, either North Texas or Tulane, that would
be as a very realistic possibility.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
And I think A and I went internet game has
a favorite in that one. There is also a possibility,
let's say they slit to seven.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
If they're slip to seven, they could be seeing a
team like Alabama coming into them and suddenly suddenly that
doesn't look like a row as rosie of proposition. So
for A and L, I think a night is a
really like if I'm A and M.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
I'm watching this.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Very closely because those those particular seed, this particular penultimate
seating is going to be critical to what their fate
is and exactly how much.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Does or does the committee punish them?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
How much does they go do they go and start
looking a little harder at their schedule and.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Say, okay, you have that win over on the road
at Notre Dame. That's a signature win. But past that
it's getting kind of bear.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
It'll be really interesting to see what happens tonight because
because a lot hangs in the.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Balance for an M, no doubt, uh, you know, Texas
fans and sark bound to be disappointed. I think ultimately
down the road that they won't get in. But a
Texas Michigan Citris ball wouldn't exactly suck, would it?

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Look, you know this it's one of one of those
games you call helmet games, right where you put the
put the helmets on the graphic and you go, oh,
I want to watch that game. I don't even need
to know who's playing. It's like if Texas and Michigan
would be fantastic, and it looks that's that's obviously not
not the way that Texas was hoping their season would end.
They were hoping it would and with confetti in the
National Championship Trophy, that looks like it's going to be

(09:03):
at least pretty unlikely. But if you want to talk
about a ten potential for a ten win season, a
signature win over another blue blood program, and a New
Year's kind of in a New Year's Day or New
Year'sday adjacent bowl, I think that is about as good
as you can hope for.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
And I will say that towards the end of the
season they will have earned that. I mean they would
have earned by beating A and M, you know, by
coming out and you know, taking care of the business.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Down the stretch, even if it didn't always look good,
even if it wasn't always pretty. For them to finish
with this flurry like this, I think, you know, it
is impressive, and they will have earned that spot and
an opportunity to at least salvage what I think we
could call a pretty good, if not great season.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
So we're looking at two, for sure, and maybe three
teams from the state of Texas getting into the playoffs.
The third would be North Texas if they can beat
Too Lane in New Orleans on Friday Night. And this
is that's kind of an interesting deal, isn't it, Chap,
because you have two programs with head coaches. I wouldn't
say Lane Duck head coaches because they could get him

(10:09):
into the playoff, but they're on their way out the door.
And it also presents an interesting situation for North Texas
with regard to their future head coach. Now Eric Morris
is going to coach them all the way through the
playoff or as long as their postseason is. But I'm
hearing names like Neil Brown from the former West Virginia.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
I'm I'm hearing.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Several other names that we've heard from Power five programs
that that could wind up there in Denton, and and
it couldn't wouldn't be a bad destination.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
No, And I think you know the old scout saying
is leave it better than you found it, right well?

Speaker 2 (10:52):
And I think you can say that Eric Morris is
absolutely leaving it better than he found it. I mean,
he has taken North Texas from you know, the Sephala
treil era which ended rather name and sivily.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I can't say that word, but I tried it.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
But they took him from there to legitimately on.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
The cusp of the college football playoffs. That is a
remarkable turnaround. And and he loved it better than he
found it.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I don't think, and I think in kind of talking
with the North Texas fans in my life, I don't
think that there's a lot of hard feelings. I think
there's a lot of like, Okay, yeah, coach, we appreciate it,
thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
You know we are on that we are ready for
the next step and find a guy who continue this momentum.
And am I being Neil Brown? I think Neil Brown
is the hot name. He is the name to know.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
You know that that I know we're chasing down sources.
Mike Crave and our college football writer is chasing down
sources right now.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
I know he is the hot name.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
But I also know that what will be interesting is
that with other jobs. Let's say in the same ballpark
as North Texas. Let's say Memphis and Tulane coming open. Well,
then in USF put lump them in there as well. Suddenly,
if you're Brown, you might have more than one offer.

(12:03):
You might have offers from from writing to play like that.
I think North Texas trying to beat people to the punch.
But now because of a lot of sec movement that
has opened up some AAC movement which could now make
it so that North Texas may have to fight off
other suitors for their first choice. I believe from everything

(12:23):
that we're hearing that Neil Brown is the first choice there.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
But we will see.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
How it all plays out, because that's obviously a huge
moment and an inflection point here for the North Texas
program to make sure that they capitalize on what has
been a tremendous twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yeah, and and Neil Brown of course had great success
at Troy at in the sun Belt before going to
West Virginia. Another name that I've heard that had good
success in the sun Belt before going to a power
for a job that might possibly enter is Billy Napier,
the former Florida Church that's another name I've heard.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
In North Texas.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I think good worse than that if they if they
were decided to look at that way.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah, like you know, if you want to go into
and this is going to sound disrespectful, but in the
in the coaching, you know, uh, bargain based bargain bin
here where guys who are like, okay, well they just
got fired right they they're out of a job right now,
but hey, they can still do good for me. I
think that Billy Napier would be a really interesting uh
hire there. I think you can take a look at

(13:25):
what happened with James Franklin is a good example. Jane
Franklin of course getting fired at Penn State. Well, Virginia
Tech looks around and goes, you know, want to have
some of that.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
It would not be a surprise to see a program
like North Texas or like any of those other programs
like Tulane or Memphis, say, you know what, billiy Napier,
we know you can win at this level. Uh, You're
a proven winner at this level. We would love to
have you come in and try to do the same
thing here. So yeah, I think that's certainly a name.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
To know uh, as I would say, especially.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
If Neil Brown doesn't work out for North Texas. Uh,
perhaps the name like Billy Napier could crop up.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Can you hang on through the break because the one
thing you and I never want to do is short
change high school and I want to talk some playoffs here?

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Are you able to hang on for a few minutes
here during a break?

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Let's do it all right?

Speaker 3 (14:09):
All right?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Greg Tepper, editor in chief Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine
with us. We'll take a quick break. When we come back,
we turn our attention to the high school football playoffs. Here,
I'm thirteen under the zone. We continue on a text
on Tuesday. What are you hitting with us here, Jake? Well,
it was on the shirt and I know it came
out the last time we talked to Temper a couple
of weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Mike and the moon Pies. Mike and the moon Pies.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Greg Tapper, editor in chief of Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine,
is on with us right now. Mike and the moon
Pies means something special to you?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Tap Yes, Austin band, Yes of a new country band?

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Yeah? Well? And who I saw? Okay Copeland dance hall
that we could list of Texas places I need to
take a visit to.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Okay, all right, we move over to the high school level,
and this is state quarter final week or regional final week.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
I have always been kind of hung up in that thing.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
It's like getting my foot untangled from a power chord
plugged in.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Is it quarter final? Is it regional final? The answer
is yes, it's a floor wax and a dessert topping.
So it's it's it's both.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Which do you prefer? Which term? Do you prefer?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
This?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
This is for me and and your mileage may harry here,
but I like regional final because for me, regional final
there is a set number of teams that you know
you have to defeat within your region once you get
out to me starting next week, is when do we
get into the state wide portion of it? Whereas the
Region one versus Region two and that right now this
has been if you think like the sixty Division one bracket.

(15:45):
Right now, we are having four concurrent regional tournaments and
then we are going to determine the.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Champion of each of those regions and they are going
to go at it. And so I prefer regional final.
That just helps me kind of wrap my brain around
what's going on.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Okay, I try to mix them both anyway, But I
see where you're going with that. Okay, all right, So
here's the simple question for you before we get into.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
You know, the meanest thing we do with gains.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
But I'm want, I'm gonna, I'm gonna roll down each
region of these ranks and you tell me who right now,
right now, uh as as we look at it on
December second, is the best team in each of these regions?

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Okay? Six A.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Division one, there's North Crowley, Allen, Duncanville, Walk Saggy, north Shore.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Dickinson, San Antonio, Johnson, Lake Travis.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Of those eight, right now, who's the best team?

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Geez? So I picked north Shore to win the title?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I don't feel good about that, even this week against Dickinson.
You could also put in I think North Crowley, which
is the defending state champs. I think Duncanville has very
quietly gain speed.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
If I have to pick one, I will stick with
my guns and go to North Shore.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Okay, all right?

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Division two Dent and Geyer, South Lake, Carrol De Sota,
Willis summer career C. E. King Vandergrift dripping springs.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
It's got to be south Lake Carroll. They've been wired
to wire. Number one. Looks the part last week against
prosper at South Lake Carrol.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
All right, five A D one dent't Ryan lead. I'm
excited about that. I get to call that for victory.
Plus on Friday night frist go lone star Highland Park, Port,
Arrenthur Memorial, Barber's Hill, Smithson Valley, New BRONFLS.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Five AD one is it's probably Alito, although I think
there's I've been saying for a couple of weeks. The
poor of the Memorial is building something special. So that's
a team I've got my own. And of course you
got many champions Fitton Valley, but I'll go with the
eleven or the twelve time champions in Alito.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Most surprising team out of that region, Barber's Hill or New.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Brom Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
I mean, well, last week, my goodness, the way that
they beat Fluberville Wece was a hard stopper. So yeah,
definitely from Barber's Hill.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yeah, I start say, when's the last time you heard
about a team blocking three punts in the game and
then losing because of a bad snap on the winning
field goal try.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
It was like the ball was grease the whole game.
It was.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
It was one of the wildest things I've seen in
quite some times.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Five A Division two Melissa Argyle, South Olk, cliff Port,
hs Grows, Richmond Randall, Iowa Colony, Bernie Alamo Heights. By
the way, when Jake and I were discussing highlights and
stuff for the Longhorn football montage yesterday, he said, do
you want me to mix in any of that Basstrop Randall.
He had to call from the bass drop perspective that

(18:29):
all eighty three points of them there. It was in
eighty three, eighty three to twenty eight, no running clock
until the fourth quarter, and Landon Williams callis out there
in the second half.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Yeah, find.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
If it makes you feel better.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I think that Bastrid lost to the team to beat
in five Anivision two.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
I think it's Randall.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
I agree for a D one Canyon, West Plain, Stephenville, Alvardo, Salina, Kilgore,
Fort Ben Crawford, Davenport, Lavergna.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Stephenville especially, I mean the way they're rolling right now.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
The Yellow Jackets look like a machine.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
All right for a D two Midland, Greenwood, brock Athens, Carthage,
west Orene Stark, La Vega, Quero, Sinton.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
I think it's got to be Carbage at this point.
I've said this before, but like, if you're gonna beat Carthage,
you got to beat them early, and it's getting it's
getting late early.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Right now to beat Carthage, that's true.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Three a D one peast Or Paradise, by the way,
playing at the most unusual of the venues, Porcupine Stadium
in Springtown this week.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Pack the Pine.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Yeah, there you go, pottspur A, grand View, Yoakum, Columbus,
Lano Edna.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
It's got to be Columbus.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
I mean in three Indivision one has been the wildest
classification all year and it's has continued that and yet
here we are with the You know, the more things change,
the more they say the saying Columbus looks like.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
The team to beat right now, could you have foreseen?
I mean, look, we've seen in the past several years.
You and I have seen grand View look great. We
saw him win back to back state titles. We saw
him losing a title round. I didn't have them getting
to the Elite eight.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Did you no this is this is a This is
a virtuoso coaching performance by Ryan Abner. This is a
virtuoso performance. They are they are at the very least
a year early. Uh and and because it's still a
pretty young Grandview team, but they are playing well.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Beyond their years.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
And they showed a lot of moxie last week in
while they wild went over Commerce.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
By the way, I had a lot of fun in
the Texas Texas A and M broadcast mentioning the starting
right tackle for Texas A and M Demetrius Crown over
the former grand View Zebra were him well?

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Uh and former, by the way, former grand View Zebra
tight end.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
That's right, he's catching passes for them.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
That's right, all right.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Three A D two Ida Lou Wall, Leonard Gunner, Arp Newton,
Tyde Haven East Bernard.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
This has been the cleanest bracket because I think that
all four of the clear regional favorites are still alive.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
But I.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Like I keep the bouncing back between Wall and tight Haven.
Right now, I'm feeling like Wall.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
But I mean all four of those between Newton A Gunner.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Of course, he needs to introduction Newton, who might be
playing the best of any of them right now.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
But I will stick with all with Wall right now.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
You absolutely floored me when you said Wall and Tidy
at first and didn't mention Gunner and Newton.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Tell us about it. The deck.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
I listened to three times defending champs. They're just quietly
plugging along.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
That's one of the seven games I'm gonna call, is say,
and I can't wait to see which two survivors get
out there. It'd be a lot of fun. Gush to
a D one West Texas. That's instanet for folks who
don't know about the panhanda West Texas Cisco, Hamilton axtell
Joaquin San Augustine Mason Rafirio.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
It's Rafeirio because of what they did to Gnado last
week with avenging that lost are, in my opinion, to
your favorite.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
But I will also say this, Joaquin cannot keep getting
away with it.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
They can't.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
They were a.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Fourth place team a year ago that made it to
the semifinals, and now they're a third place team that's
back into the regional final. They hung seventy one on
the leaguing fields last week. I don't know what's happening,
but Jauquin is like, I think they've spin this season sandbagging,
and then they're like, Okay, I guess it's time to
get to work now.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
There you do not want to see right now.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah. You know what's weird.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
There are only three teams in the state, and you
have to forgive me. I can only think of two
of them at the time, but there's only three teams
still playing that have allowed less than one hundred points
this year, and one of them is the team I've
got Friday is Alito.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
I forgot the second.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
The third is Actual that has allowed less than one
hundred points this year.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
That's there my pick to win the region. They've been
my pick before the playoffs. I love that defense. Craig
Horn is the guy who knows two edvision one. Well,
he's coach to Italy. Yeah, I love this actual leafense.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Okay to a D two uh Stratford, Groover, Lindsey, Munster.
We get Kraut Bowl. As you said, two point zero
the other night, Brimon Mount Enterprise and Junction Shiner.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I think you got to go to the defending champs
in Munster, although and we can maybe I don't know
if we're going to talk about it.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
But that Junction Shiner game is boss office stuff. It's
so good matchup of unbeing. And then by the way,
Mount Enterprise. Mount Enterprise is probably quote unquote party crasher here,
but they're thirteen to zero and kagan Ash they're running back.
Could break Ken Hall's singles get a single season rushing
record this week, and if they win, he could break
his career record next week. So a lot on the

(23:41):
line for Mount.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Enterprise, So no doubt.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
All right, one ad one uh Rank and Water Valley
and Union Hill and well Gordon.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, okay, it's Gordon. Yeah, Like I had somebody, I
had somebody, a six man person that I trust tell
me this week that he doesn't think Gordon's going to
play a snap in the second half this year, which
is saying something because they've played some really good teams,
including they're playing a really good Union Hill team this week.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
And then finally one eight two Klondike Jaydon Strawn, Richland Springs.
I had a six man person that we both trust
very very well. Just tell me, because I said, where
are they playing? Because the other day he did not know.
On Sunday he said not yet. Typical goofing around with
these two. But he just told me Stevenville Saturday at

(24:27):
five o'clock for Strawn and Richland Springs.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
For those who don't know Strown and Risland.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Springs of a history, They've played a lot of really
high safe football games. They'll play another one. But the
answer to your question is whoever wins the other game?
Which is Jaydon the defending city champs, staying on Kwondike,
who has basically been the clear either first or second
best team in the stable. Find out this week when
they take on one another in Colorado City.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
All right, And then finally, the meanest thing we do
each week, I give you three games you can transport
to one. You tell me which of these it would be.
You can either go too. You can either go to
tv ECU Stadium on the U of H campus for
Gleana Park, North Shore and Dickinson. You can go to

(25:14):
Chocktall in Arlington and I hope you don't have four
hours of lightning delays and see Argyle and Melissa or
the aforementioned Klondike and Jake and Jaydon who do battle
at Wolf Stadium in Colorado City.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
So which of those three is your selections are?

Speaker 2 (25:37):
This is a really rude one because all three have
great storylines. North Shore and Dickinson is like, can anybody
stop north Shore? North Shore is one seven consecutive regional titles.
They've been in I think eleven consecutive regional finals. It's
insane what they've the consistency that they've had. But Dickinson
looks like the real deal and the team that it

(25:57):
could absolutely be thrown them. That game's fastascinating are goll
Melissa has been interesting because it's the game we've been
keeping and we've wanted to see all year long. And also,
if you don't know, there is a particular amount of
drama of surrounding Melissa right now because Melissa, in the
second half of their win over Anna last week, their
quarterback Brett Holloway, who is who ran for three hundred yards.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
In that game, got ejected.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Now they're appealing that because the rule.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Is if you get ejected in the second half of
the game, you have.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
To miss the first half of the next game, and
so they're appealing that. We don't yet know the results
of the appeal, but there's a lot of intrigue.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
There's a great.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Game regardless of who's on the field. But that one's
the answer for me is that we're going to punch
a ticket to AT and T Stadium.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
It's Jayden and Klondike.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
This is number one versus number two. It's it's the
game of the year in one A Division two. And
with all due respect to the feuding Strawn and Richland Springs,
I think the winner of this game is the favorite
to win the one A Division two state championship.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
And can Klondike find a way to.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
End of the twenty eight game winning streak of Jaydon
That's the real question, this one, I think.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I think as far as six man football, it didn'tet.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
A whole lot better than this, no doubt about it.
He's Greg Tebbery's all over the place. He's YOUO big
with us when it comes to high school football as well.
Editor in chief Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Are you going out to a game Friday? Are you even?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
I am gonna say so, I'm not so. By the way,
it's a weird schedule. It's only two Thursday games. Yeah,
Gunner and Leonard and then Rafirio and Nason are the
only two playing on Thursday. And there's only like I
think like five Saturday games. It is a huge Friday night,
like it's the last big, big, big Friday night of
the season. So I'm gonna sit at home and watch
a bunch of them. So that's that's what I'm doing there.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
You go, hey, appreciate it and we'll look forward to
it soon. Thanks Tip.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
All right, take you guys.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
All right.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
That is Greg Tipper, editor in chief Dave Campbell's Texas
Football Make We have a lot of fun. The two
of us work in that two day Division two state
title game, and I agree with them. I think it's
going to be the Junction Shiner survivor, probably against Munster,
which could be a great deal of fun. If it
winds up being that way, we'll see. We'll be back
to wrap a pour number two on thirteen under the

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
