Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Crazy. It's Chris and Laurie.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
We host the morning show on Shenandoah Country Q one
O two in Winchester, Virginia, and you can check it
out on iHeartRadio anywhere you go. We're always there. We've
got our little podcast here called The Crazy. Things are
crazy in our lives. So it's been crazy finding time
to get it done. But we're really happy to have
our next episode done here. So, Laurie, we have in

(00:23):
our show many many things that happen. Can't get to
all of them on the radio, right, but did want
to get to a couple of them here. The first
one that I thought that We tried to find time
to get it into the show, but it was really hard.
Would you pay to use Facebook or Instagram? Because Meta

(00:45):
is considering giving this a run over in the UK.
You'd pay for a subscription to have your Insta or
Facebook account and that would open up a different feel
for the Facebook and yeah, definitely would you pay for it? No?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, Okay, So what if I told you all the
ads on Facebook would be removed?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
No? What if I told you this?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
What if it was all the paid users would be
able to prevent their data from being tracked.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Okay, maybe I just it's been free for so long.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It's hard to start paying for something that it's free.
And the way I started thinking about it though, I
was like, hmm, social media gives me heartburn half the
time anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
You know these days? Yet, so am I going to
pay you to give me heartburn? Now?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I'm not doing that, So I think no for that
one for me for sure. Okay, there was another one
that came out, Laurie. Did you see this about about
what was it? Oh, door Dash. They're now doing this
eat now, pay later plan. Huh So yeah, so you
can so you can make payments on a hamburger.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Because that's what I want to do.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Stupid all right. I do have another funny story that
I wanted to share. We usually do three of these
things on our podcast. So this one, Laurie, this young
guy he went to a family barbecue. And I don't
know what your family barbecues are like, maybe they're like
this one. After he had some beers, he fell asleep
with his shirt off in a hammock. This is never

(02:20):
a good idea when you're around other guys. By the way, anyway,
As his story goes, he says, my brother in law,
who was completely sober, thought it would be hilarious to
fill my belly button with super glue. No super glue, so, dude,
he said, I don't know. I was really in a
deep sleep from the beer, but I must have rubbed

(02:41):
my belly at one point because my fingers were kind
of sticky when I woke up. And he ended up
having to go to the er.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
See that's not good.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
No, it cost him over two grand to get the
glue removed. Now, would you be surprised to find out
that his brother in law wouldn't help to pay any.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Of the costs. You're kidding?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, I mean, come on, you'd filled the dude's belly
button with super glue, you could at least cough up
a couple bucks, right, that's kind of going with the territory,
I would think, right, right. So, So, anyway, you know
how they got out the super glue. They had to
use a solvent and like a petroleum jelly to kind
of get it loosened up. That sounds like a lot

(03:25):
of fun. That's a story you can tell for years.
I mean, he does have a story, he does, but
wouldn't pay any of the costs. I thought that was crazy.
His brother in law they took him to court, actually
took him, took his law to court.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
He said, yep, you win. The judge did.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
The brother in law still isn't paying up. And guess
what out of all this, his sister is still angry
over the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's kind of funny anything like that ever happened one
of your family barbecue.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
All right, and I think I do we have one
more here? One more here? Yes?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Oh, I thought this was in It's not really a
funny story, but it was something that was interesting. Remember
when all of us were working from home on the
zoom and the teams and all that crap, we learned
a lot. We learned that lighting is important, very We
learned what other people's houses are like, about how people
are living. But lighting is important.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Nobody really paid that much attention to sound. Remember everybody
was upgrading their lighting and upgrading their camera. Right. Sound
is incredibly important, and they studied it and what they
found was this, if you're on a zoom call, if
maybe you have to take something from home one day,
a meeting from home or whatever. Get the best audio
you can because psychiatrists, not psychologists. Psychologists discovered that if

(04:45):
you've got better sound, you come across as more convincing,
you are more likely to win an argument, and.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
You're more likely to be taken seriously. I mean it
does make sense.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah, right, and they say that thought, well, your microphone
is crap. The reverse is true. They don't take you
as seriously and you don't usually win your point. M
kind of interesting that it is, very all right. Well,
look that's three things here on the on our show,
and we hope you'll listen to our show anytime you
want right here on demand, and also you can use

(05:17):
it with our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
We're on every.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Weekday morning from six to ten yep, right here on
Shenandoah Country Q one O two.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Thank you for listening, and have a great day.
