It is Jeff g Let you cruiseJackie. All yeah, listen,
we wanted to highlight one of thebest topics that we've had this year.
(00:21):
I mean we're probably I mean wellwe're halfway through the year technically in some
capacity, right yeah, right yeah. So, um so this topic came
about about DNA tests. Cruise Youwant to read the question that yeah,
well, here's the deal, rightin honor of Appuccino requesting a DNA test
from his twenty year old or twentyeight year old lady. Um here's the
question. So what you find outwhen you took a DNA test two types
(00:43):
of DNA tests, right, thecore ordered paternity test, and then there's
that twenty three in me and Garcia. You took one of those twenty three
in me tests, and you foundout that you have an African cousin named
Willie Yes in the Congo in theCongo Jo, let's go like sixth cousin.
I see you should go visit him. I mean, yeah, if
I could get the time off, yeah, maybe it said quite a trip,
(01:03):
Jackie. Did you look like I'mnot only I'm going to ROAs me?
Hey just take you know, justtake an uber to Africa? Did
you find did you look for himin any way like Facebook or anything like
that. No, it's just youknow, those things come up and you
kind of I didn't really have areason to investigate really, you know,
per se, but obviously a lotof our listeners did, because man,
(01:26):
the amount of calls that came inwere unbelievable, and some of these stories
were unbelievable. So what we're gonnado now is we're gonna play back to
back to back to back to backall these amazing calls about these DNA stories.
Some are twenty three and me,some are summer cord ordered paternity test
type vibes. But these are alot of extra ones that we did not
play on the air as well, because we had so many calls that we
(01:47):
just couldn't err too many up.So this is like the extended director's cut,
bonus edition, or whatever you wantto call it of DNA tests and
the Cruise Shaw audience listen to this. I found out that my little brother
wasn't my little brother. Oh no, no, how long was he your
little brother till you found out?Oh, he probably was about six or
(02:07):
seven. Oh well, let metell you it was my dad. So
my dad had him when he wasyou know, older, and my dad
went to prison. So my stepmom asked me like, hey, can
you do this DNA because she wastrying to divorce my dad. In order
for her to get hit the benefitfrom, you know, my dad,
(02:30):
he had to prove that he wasa father. And she took the DNA
test through me, and come tofind out, he wasn't the dad.
Listen, I don't know. Ithink she was more so really embarrassed by
it, and she just disappeared andI ain't seen her soon. Sorry,
(02:52):
Yo, thank you so much forsharing that with us. We appreciate it.
Okay, I ain't found out thatmy aunt grandpa wasn't my biological grandpa.
Oh my grandma seated on him andnever said anything to anybody. Oh
my gosh. Yes. And Icalled my mom. I was like,
(03:13):
why is my auntie only my halfaunt? And she was like, oh,
there was this rumor that your Grandmamight have seated, but it was
a rumor and like nobody like didanything about it. Wait, so one
had to tell the whole family basicallylike you're the one. I had to
tell my grandma. Oh no,I know, you're not the favorite grandchild
(03:34):
anymore. My grandpa had already passed, so he never like knew, and
my brother told my dad because Iwas too scared to tell my dad because
it was on my dad's side,it was my dad's mom. And then
he was like I didn't want toknow, like now like and I was
like, well, I didn't wantto know, like like I wouldn't I
(03:55):
know. My brother actually did meetmy bio logical grandpa, but it wasn't
any it was very sure. Itwas just like, oh, I'm here,
I'm here a grandson, and hewas like I always wondered what happened
to Leanne. That's my that's mygrand that's my ground. That crazy okay
(04:15):
already, So I wanted to sharemy DNA story. So I took an
ancestry test during COVID and I realizedI had a guy on there that I
didn't know who he was. SoI asked my parents, like, who
is this is this guy related? And they were like, no, we
don't know who he is. Soat the end of all of it,
I start just inspector gadget mode, and I found out that he's coming up
(04:40):
as my second parents my job alreadythirty two. Oh yeah, So I
look. I started asking my momwho's this guy? Do you know this
guy? And she's like, no, I don't know who that is.
It's coming up as your as yoursecond parents brother. So I like,
do this whole backtracking and and Ifind out that he's related to a guy
(05:02):
that my mom looked up within highschool. And then I called him the
next day and I'm like, hey, do you know so and so which
is my mom? And he's like, yeah, I know her. And
I'm like did you look up withher around this time? And he's like
yeah, possibly. And I'm like, hey, can you meet up with
me and take a DNA test?Oh no? And he did and the
(05:23):
results came back ninety nine. Yeah. So what did your dad say?
He was just really heartbroken. Iwas really sad. It was a big
emotional What did you say? Didyour mom apologize? My mom was still
trying to deny it. She waslike that's couldn't have happened. The timeline
(05:45):
doesn't make sense. And I'm like, you're old, you can't remember,
Mom. It makes sense scientifically,it makes sense. Man, My sister
was on her head for like twomonths. He was doing big things in
the nineties. Me but my momso all growing up, my mom never
knew who her real father was, right, okay, and so um.
(06:08):
When my great grandmother died, wewent to her attic and so Oliver belongings
as they found all of these lettersto my grandmother that my great grandmother hidings
okay, and they were all addressedby my real grandfather. So she put
out a request to this name,to this guy in Tennessee. Sure enough,
(06:30):
he took his nahs and he wasmy my real grandfather, my mom's
real dad, and he lived inTennessee now with a whole new family.
And like, the craziest thing iswe went down to meet him when I
was a little kid. Yeah, and his new daughter and his whole new
family. My aunt essentially she lookedexactly like my mom. Crazy. Yeah,
(06:54):
So we she was like thirty,I think when she found out I
was like fourteen. Wait with somehad to have known and like, hit
it a secret because you said thoseletters were hidden yea, yeah, which
we were thinking that my great grandmawas hiding the letters because my grandfather basically
and when everybody was getting drafted toWorld War two, he actually enlisted because
(07:15):
the theory was he knew he gotmy grandmother pregnant. Man, you know
who's got Grandma's got secret exactly,Yo, Grandma's no man know where the
bodies are. Hey, appreciate youcalling bro, bro absolutely Okay. So
we found out was my brother halfhalf brother, and my mother her her
(07:43):
brother which is our uncle, turnedout to be my brother's brother. Wait
wait hold on uncle brother Wait, how well that's what I mean, that's
what we It was the same guydidn't my grandmother and had our own goal
and that that same guy did mymother. Yes, so this is what
(08:11):
we figured. Some things left tobe left alone and never never to find
out, all right. So lastOctober, my cousin calls me and she's
like, hey, Toby, Ithink you have a brother, and I
was like, what's like, Ijust did a DNA test through ancestry and
I and it turns out the onlyway this guy could be related to us
(08:31):
is that if it's your dad's kid, he's your half brother, and I'm
like, what, So I lookedhim up on Facebook. Turns out he
and I had the exact same job. We do the same job. We're
ten years apart. And yeah, like he lives in New Jersey, I
live in California. And so inJanuary, I worked for Google. I
was a client and I went outto Google and they needed somebody to come
(08:52):
in from the studio. So Igot to hire him through Google to come
and do this job with me,and we ended up getting paid to meet
each other for the first time inNew York. And we've been talking and
I got to meet his family andYo, so your dad, your pops
out aside you? Oh no,dude, my dad. My dad has
well now he has seven kids withsix different women. Okay, so yeah,
(09:18):
yeah, he was like an actora long time ago, and he
I don't know, he was justa player. Know what, I've considered
having multiple baby mothers. You havepretty happy. You made me feel like
I could still get away with Okay, bro, So what did you find
out when you took a DNA test? I took that twenty three and meet
test. Okay, I found outI was half Rasta, half Stecca,
(09:39):
Rasta Stecca. Okay, that's right, So would you do with that information?
Damn from being Rasta Stecca. Iwent to the Motherland and hit up
all my ancestors, found all theMexicans with dreadlocks, and we all united
Rasta Secca style. Okay, yeah, yeah. I got on a side
in front of the Pyramids. Itwas more like, um, one of
(10:03):
the pits. We dug a pitand this is my god. Then,
man, you got anybody ninety two? Hey real, ninety two two?
You guys have been number one dayone man. Thank you man. We
appreciate you. Bro love man, have a good weekend. I got a
knock on the door roughly about amonth ago to twin and some men came
(10:28):
up to me talking about I'm theredead, like there was a young lady
that I used to mess with. They told me the mom's name. I
was like, yeah, I usedto be with her. You know it
didn't work out. I actually raninto her like twelve years later after we
broke up. Nothing was said ornothing. Fortunately, got rust her,
(10:50):
so she passed away a couple ofmonths ago. And I get this not
so they asked me too. Itook it and yeah, I point nine.
I'm their father. Happy Father's Day, bro. Yeah but yes,
so yeah, they're like angry. It's like one of them already said he
(11:11):
don't want nothing to do with me. The other one's like, you should
have been there for us. Westruggle. He's going on and on.
I'm like, didn't know, dude, I didn't even know. I didn't
even know you was alive. Ididn't know you had sensed it right,
Like good, he did not care. They just like, respectfully, they
should be mad at their mom.Dog. Yeah, but you know,
(11:33):
I'm not going to speak ill ofthe mom. You know what she passed
away. And it's like it wasjust pure anger. I'm like, why
he's gonna looking me up? Then, yeah, he's gonna be mad.
I got enough people mad at me. Hey, so are you guys?
Are you trying to keep in touchor is that it? I'm in touch
with one of them, but theother he's like nothing, he wants nothing
(11:56):
to do with me. That's likethat. Oh he every everything wrong that
went that went bad in this lifekeeps blaming me, blaming this one that
happened. If I had a father, in my life. Oh no,
that's where I'm at with that.I'm like, wow, I want for
having no kids and I got two. You got two, and one of
(12:18):
them don't want them to do whatyou got blast. Yeah, that one
kid's gonna come around. Man,trust he needs somebody to blame. Right
now. I did the same thing. My dad left, so but I
mean it's different. I mean heknew about us he left, but for
a long time, you blame, blame, blaming, then afterwards it'll come
back around. So hopefully he'll findthe good in things, especially as he
gets older. You know, itis when you get older you figure things
out. So I wish you alot of luck, bro, I appreciate
(12:41):
that. I appreciate thanks for hearingme out. Thanks for the story.
Dog, have a good weekend,ya. I mean, okay, let
you with all these grandma's right, and all these secrets, what's the moral
of the story. Women can takeit to the grave, like women keep
these secrets. I mean, listen, men do too, right, obviously,
right, there's there's a few hsocial dads and grandpa's as well.
(13:05):
But we did hear a lot aboutlike moms and grandmas taking it to the
grave. Yeah, I mean Iwould say that, like, I don't
know, it's just they were wildand out. I feel like it was
just much easier to hide things backand then Yeah, so the media was
in a thing, true, verytrue. People were minding their business more
back in the day, I believea little bit right right, right,
right, But even somebody knew, like there was one caller where like the
(13:28):
great grandma knew and she was hidingthose letters. Yeah, man, you
know, I think the best linewas mom was doing big things in the
nineties. That was funny. Yeah. And I mean you know there's the
one with the mom and the grandmaand he slept with both. That's kind
of wild too. I mean, you just never know what's gonna happen to
do with the twins, and likefor now, for those ships to be
mad at him, it's not that'snot fair, man, I get it
(13:52):
right. So if you're in thatposition and you're a child, you have
every right to be upset, Butfigure out who to be upset with,
oh, for sure. And Iget it right. Society promotes deadbeat fathers
a lot, and you automatically aremad at at at at the dad and
you automatically assume that the dad knewand was hiding because of what of what
(14:13):
we've learned and seen and picked upalong the way. But you really have
to reflect in situations like that.Yeah, and like I said in that
call, like I hope he comesaround, you know, because it sucks
to carry that kind of weight.I mean I know I did for a
while. So yeah, and mysituation was different, like I mentioned,
but like you don't want, youdon't need that in your life, man.
(14:33):
You know, hopefully they can findsomething to bond over um and the
fact that one of the twins isalready trying that, hopefully the other one
will come around and be yea.And this allays birth. By the way,
