What's good? What up as muscle? You're checking out the
Cruise Show podcast? Subscribe Yo Cruise Show After Hours podcast.
Let's get to itha. What do you got? All?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Right? So I want to start with our interview with
Kilanie Kaylanie, Kilanie, Kaylani.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
We should have asked her that.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
No, it's kay. A lot of people say kill Lonnie
because I mean that's how it spelled Kilanie, but Kaylanie.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
I wanted to start with that because I saw in
our notes that it said something about Kaylannie, and I
wanted to make sure that, yeah, that's right. It was
a really, really, really good interview. I think you guys
did a really amazing job job everybody, and I think
there's a lot of cool stuff. I mean, she was
very relaxtering throughout the conversation, and I enjoyed that because
(00:46):
it didn't feel serious, it didn't feel gotcha, it didn't
feel you know, like that we were trying to get
stuff out of her. And then we all wrapped it
up with the big discussion about AI and she had
a lot of opinions about that. I loved it because honestly,
I feel the same way she does, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
As far as artists, I believe she leads the fight.
She leads the way. Yeah, when it comes to that conversation, well, I.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Think she's definitely more of the vocal one.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
Yeah, so like she's leading the fight in that way
and in that sense of like being the most vocal
about it.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
But I do agree with her.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Like, I think there are some instances where, yes, AI
can be beneficial, but not even in the music industry.
Like I think there's just other ways that I can
be beneficial, but music industry. Like she was saying, she's like,
you're taking everything that everybody has ever done before and
just kind of erasing history. And that's kind of the
problem as well too, Like, I think that's what she said,
(01:37):
and the way she put it was just the best
way that you can put it.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Where she made a really good point too.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
She said, it's gonna be like that one pimple, Like
it's gonna pop and everyone's gonna go oh. And I
truly believe that is what it's gonna eventually happen.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Yeah, I think like also too, like she was saying,
like we like AI is benefiting off of everybody else's
voices and hard work and so I kind of like
whispered it, but I was just like, yeah, like there
was a blueprint, you know, there's a blueprint for this
AI to make music.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
And yeah, I don't think that's copy and paste.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Copy and paste, But I think the one thing that
we'll always have with real artists is that real connection,
Like an AI artist can never come here and like
we can never really like read to them the way
we just sa that.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
It's funny. She said, I want the computers to fight
it out.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah, I'm my girl.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
I was a yeah, let the computers do get out,
and I'd rather them with each other than us.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
That's a good point.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, No, And and honestly, I feel like we're getting
there with social media too, because everyone's using AI and
social media and you can't really tell what's real or not.
And then social media to me, is not social. It's
just one long potence. It's like it's like it's you know,
like on direct TV you have four hundred, five hundred
channels and you're looking like, how the fuck am I
going to watch all this? That's how social media feels,
(02:51):
because it's like it's like it just you know, so
my program after program after content after content like, it's not.
It's not social anymore. It's just about like product and
brands an algorithm, Like it's not, it's not. You don't
feel like you're checking in on your friends anymore. You
just feel like you're you're subject to watching some some
kind of something that's.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Sold muting a lot.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
I've been reading a lot on like social like just
not because like I don't want to unfollow people because
I like actually give a fuck about them, you know.
But at the same time, I.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
Feel like what you said, Garcia is like social.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
Media is such like an ad based thing now that
every content piece that you see, majority of all the
content pieces that you see, is just like hey, like uh,
you know, get ready with me with like you know,
bloom or whatever. It's just like, Okay, I don't want
to be sold on anything. I just want to be
you know, I just want to see stupid shit.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
We're suckered into watching commercials.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Well, yeah, and the authenticity that birth that is got
at birth, that is gone, you know what I mean
in a lot of ways, and what you're really watching.
And by the way, all you got to do is
spend two or three seconds on one post and then
that's all you see after it. It's crazy, Like I all,
that's something like back to the future, right I just
like I was looking at the address and I couldn't
see it and my glasses, so I was on it
(04:05):
for a second looking at like, Okay, this is the
address of this thing. Okay, great. The next thing, you know,
I scrolled down every other post is back to the future,
just because I spent five or six extra seconds trying
to look at an address, Like I don't need all
that back to the future of my life. I'm cool
with what I got, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Day just like fucking spam you, my algorithm dog has
me looking like a creep. My gee, you look at
one ass for too long one time, bro, I spent
too much time one thing, and.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Now it's it's right by one time you mean ten yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Maybe, yeah, bros.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Someone did say, like it used to social media was
about looking up your friends, connecting with your friends.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Those days are gone.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Now it's all about the algorithm.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
It's just like everything else in this country. It's monetized,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
So as crazy as I came, I stopped by somebody's
profile the other day or some or someone's video popped
up and I was like, yeah, I completely forgot they existed.
That's crazy, and I know this person mm hmm. But
you don't see them often anymore because now we all get.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
So fed up that we actually go back to really
socializing in real life with our.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Friends and family.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I need the farmer girls out of my out of
my algorithm.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Oh geez, the video and.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Now it's all over the place.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I mean, I know it's I know it's a little
hypocritical coming from us because we put out content, you know,
But yeah, we put out content. It's part of our job,
you know what I mean, Like that's just our gig,
you know. But we do put out a lot of content.
We're contributing to that.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yes, Like we're like social media managers over here.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yeah, a lot of people use it for their job now,
Like it used to be just entertainment media, but now
it's like every company has a brand or needs a
social media and.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Every person has a brand. I mean, the brand should
be yourself, you know what I mean, And it just
kind of is what it is. And if you don't
post for five days, that shouldn't hurt you.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
But it does it hurts you.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
And I got a notification from Instagram, uh yesterday or
like a couple of days ago. I first off, I
have my notifications turned off, but I have to like
go actually into like my likes and my notifications to.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
See what is going on.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
But it said, like, great job posting consistently for the
past like six days or something like that, and it
said continue like here blah.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Blah blah blah. I'm just like, no, I don't want.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
I don't want right right, I don't work for you.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, do you guys monetize after your post yet I don't.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Don't And I feel like I get asked to, but
like I don't. I just hit X like I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
I yeah, I feel like I should at least with
like Instagram, but like a part of me like I
don't know. It was like a couple months ago where
I felt like I was doing so much like here
like social wise that I just completely like I hated
like going on my personal Instagram and it was just
like yeah, like because then like because social media is
(06:55):
such a part of the job, like I was just like, Okay,
now I feel.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Like I'm working twenty four to seven.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah, and it's a lot to take in, like everything
happening in the world, all the news.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
With all that being said, though, right, we have to
pay attention to what's happening. Right, we have to be
almost ahead of the curve, and we have to understand
what's going on and know how to dissect what we
want to do, what we like, what we don't like,
and keep up with it, I guess in a sense.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, but the problem is it's getting harder and harder to
find what we like, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
We're being told we like exactly like farmer girls. I
didn't know I like it.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
I got to look at farmer girls. I got to
look at girls.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I don't know if that's what it's called. I just
call it that. Like it, like it.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I show it.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
After I show her this, you go buy Amie.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Crazy, Come get your Man's List. We also had a
really good interview this week with Daya Soul. I really
enjoyed that. Obviously I'm a fan. I was geeked it
was cool, but I just think it was like it
was just good again, like these are conversations. It doesn't
feel it didn't feel like an interview. Per se and
they had a lot of really smart and fun things
to say and that made it really easy. Album is
(08:11):
really good. No, I interview him before I rocked the
bells in their trailer. That's when all the guys were there.
So plugs one, two, and three. But unfortunately they lost
Dave and this album is really like has a lot
to do with that. They did a really good job
unwrapping all that emotion and Jack you had a good
question with them talking about that and how to write
an album when you're emotional and cruise. We talked about,
(08:33):
like you know, with them about how do they choose
where and when to use Dave because that's a big
thing for the fans, you know. Yeah, and they did
a good job and it just cool and man, get
the features on there are just insane. Nah's comments, slick
Rick Killer, Mike Black thought him the roots. Yeah, it's
it's good. It's a good play all the way through.
(08:53):
There's a lot of detail there and I think everybody
will enjoy it. You could catch that that interview. It's
already up right now the YouTube just scroll up if
you're watching this. And then also the Calini should be
done really soon. Here hopefully by the end of the week,
and you guys can check that one. I want to
close on this. Uh, there's a TV show out called Pluribus.
Have you guys seen it?
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Yes, I've seen it, but I haven't like watched it.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
If I can't say it, I can't watch.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
It's on Apple TV Rights Plurbus plurbs. It starts, uh,
it starts. Uh, it's uh, I.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
B u s l Is it about raised because it
isn't plur like.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Non totally different from that. So it has the girl
from the Woman, the actress from Better Call Saul, And
it's essentially about a virus that takes over the whole world. Okay,
very very yeah, very similar coronavirus. But it's really interesting
how it happens because it's stupid scientists in the lab
(09:54):
that let it out because they skip steps, right, Okay,
so you know, blame it on a human, you know,
for fucking it all up. The essence of the show
is basically that this virus makes everybody happy, so everybody
on the planet.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I'll take it right now, right.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Now, so.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And then, but there are eleven people in the world
that are immune to it, including this woman, including Jackie.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Mirror.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
So it's really funny because she's like, fuck this man
and everybody, Yeah, and all Carol. We just want to
make happy Carol right now.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Imagine you're allergic to happiness. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
It's so funny. It's really really good and it's very interesting.
It's like it's dark and it's you know, has all
this thing, but it's just like you start thinking about
things and you know, living through COVID like we did
the zombie apocalypse. Everyone talks about that. You guys, just
predict what is Could any of those things actually ever
happen to us? Could there be the zombie thing? Could
(11:00):
there be a COVID twenty? What do you think we
all have to deal with as a planet next zombies?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
I don't know. I don't think so, but for sure,
like more diseases soon come, my g and where we
just get locked down, Like if it could happen once,
it's happened already a few times historically, right, it's gonna
continue to happen as long as we're on Earth.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Hopefully it's every hundred years.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
You learn know how to wash their ass and hands.
It's going to continue to happen.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
I think anything's possible now, Like I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm at the point of my life where I'm not
surprised at anything.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
No, shit, We've said it all, man.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
I just I feel like we need another plague.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Oh to spend time inside.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
You just want to stay home.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
I need a plague that's gonna wipe out everybody.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Don't say this, No, don't say that I knew you
were going there.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Don't say that, queen.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Remember like actresses were get in trouble because they're Yeah,
some people are gonna.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Have to die.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
It's all right because the COVID like Vanessa hudget exactly. Bro,
you are going through Vanessa Hudgeons.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Right now, also talking about Coachella, Like I.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Know, but no, I feel like I mean shit, No,
I just think we have reminders that we have a
lot to be grateful for that we should be very
thankful for our lives and you know, where we are
and what we do and who we're with. Sometimes little
things like that are just necessary for life to continue.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
Yeah, you know who has about our millennials and gen
z I think because like everyone went through recession aarady.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
And has a pretty bad too.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, everyone went.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Through recession already we all experienced like a whole weeks
all experienced nine to eleven like, so that's fucking wild
a house market crash.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Then we go into our political era like whole pandemic.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
So it's just like, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if
in the next twenty thirty years we get something else to.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
The ninety four earth quakes. Millennials also had to go.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
That was crazy. That was scary, very scary from what.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
You were there CRUs point. Gen X has seen some
of this ship twice. No gen X and ship and
they got their ass beat.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
And their parents like left them alone.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
And left them alone. The last key kids Brow and.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Bro and like. And I think gen X had to
grow up faster than any other generation.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
You know.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
They they were adults without convenient.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
By the time they were like some popular things.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Had to pay rent, you know, when they were teenagers.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah, I'm not jen X, but I did have to
pay rent when I was a teenager.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Was but I had an apartment under my name when
I was ten.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
My g see, that's crazy. Whenever you told me that
was wo.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I didn't find out till I was eighteen and my
credit was already wrecked.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
That's crazy. Yeah, all right, well, hopefully none of this
happens and it's just good. But I would recommend that show.
It's it's pretty crazy, man, It's it's very very very interesting.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
And uh is it dark? Is it like dark comedy
or the show?
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Yeah, it's it's yeah. I mean, if you watch Breaking
Bad and you watch Better Call Solids, that's the Vince Gilligan.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Yeah. Let me ask, uh a millennial way, what channel
is it on?
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Apple TV?
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Did TV?
Speaker 4 (14:13):
That's also bring back cable TV? Bro, because I'm I gave.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Up cable Bro.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
So what's the show called?
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Plurb plurbs, plur ibbyss plur ibbys. Yeah, networks, which would
you recommend?
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Jeff?
Speaker 3 (14:27):
What's your favorite?
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I mean to me, I watch I like more stuff
on Apple TV than most Apple TV that they got
that ship. Yeah, they're very very.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Worked for good family programming. I think Prime Video is
good family programming as well versus Netflix's hearing.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
