Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackey in his time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
that you join along with me and prayer. You know.
Za Cardi Cortez sings this song about one on one
and he says, I just need my one on one
time with you with no interruptions. I just wanted to
be me and you. Then he talks about I have
(00:22):
so many questions that I need answers too. We find
that when we have our one on one time with God,
when we spend time in the presence of the Lord
Father God in the name of Jesus, as we come
before you today in prayer, we pause to turn our
hearts towards You. Life moves so fast sometimes and days
(00:44):
blur into night's responsibilities, pile high end, distraction's crowd the
space where peace should dwell. Yet God, in the noise,
our soul cries out for something more, something more God.
Not more things, not more noise, not even more accomplishments, God,
but more of You Lord. Today we confess how easily
(01:07):
we forget to come and simply be with You. Be
in your presence, You who formed us, You who loves
us without condition, You who wait patiently for us to
return when we wander away. You're not far off or hidden,
but you're always right here, ever present, closer than the
(01:29):
air that we breathe. And yet, God, Oh, we get
so distracted with the busyness of life, and so often God,
we try to carry our own life's burdens. Forgive us,
God for the times we've neglected your presence in favor
of lesser things. Jesus, our heart aches to dwell with
you again, to sit at your feed God, to sit
(01:51):
in your presence like Mary did, and let the world
grow quiet around us. We need the kind of rest
that only you can. Thank You, the soul deep kind
that feels what business can never touch. God, we don't
want to treat time with you like another task on
our to do list, but as a great joy in
(02:12):
our day, our deepest need, our sacred restluge. Lord, speak
even in silence. Let your words sing into our spirit
like rain on a dry ground. Jesus, remind us that
we're not just called to work for you, but to
walk with you in life. Thank you, Thank you, Lord
(02:35):
for allowing us to be your hands and your feet
in the earth. God, Before if we do anything for
the Kingdom. We've got to spend time with the Kingness.
Thank you for always being available, always inviting, never turning
us away. Thank you that we don't have to perform
for you or have the right words. You simply want
us and right now. God, we come just like we are, hungry, weary,
(03:00):
needing our one on one, needing our time with you.
Let this be the beginning of a new rhythm with us. God,
a life reordered around your presence and choosing to spend
time with you daily. Teach us to carve out time
not just in Christis God, but in the ordinary, in
the quiet, in the every day. Help us to seek you,
(03:21):
not out of guilt, but simply out of love and relationship.
Because being with you is not a duty. God, Oh God,
it is the deepest delight of our soul. We get
to do this, and it's an honor to do this. God.
We want to know you more, Jesus, to hear your voice,
to sense your leading, to walk in your peace. Let
(03:43):
every other priority in our lives fade into place behind
spending time with you. Thank you for loving us first.
Thank you for waiting patiently. Thank you for always welcoming
us back
