Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer. And as always I ask
that you join along with me in prayer. You know,
I look at all the chaos that's going on around
our nation. I see the turmoil. I see the protests,
I see the looting and the rioting. I see all
of the things. In my heart is disturbed. Yet us
(00:22):
pray for our nation. Heavenly Father, in the name of
Jesus Christ. We come to you with heavy hearts, wounded
by division, overwhelmed by unrest, and burdened by the sight
of our nation and utter chaos and turmoil. Lord, in
a time of riots, in a time of protest and chaos,
we ask you to draw near. Stretch out your hand,
(00:42):
O God, bring peace where there is violence, Clarity where
there's confusion, and truth where lies have taken root, and
cities filled with sirens and fear. Let your spirit hover,
bringing calm to the storm. We lift every soul protesting
in justice. May the voices be heard not in destruction, God,
(01:02):
but with dignity and purpose. Protect peaceful protesters, Protect the
law enforcement, Protect the bystanders and all caught in the tension.
God Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like
a mighty stream. God. Let anger be transformed into action
that beils, not burns. God, Lord, we especially lift up
(01:23):
those facing deportation, mothers, fathers, children who live daily in fear.
I'm sure of their tomorrow, their safety, or their belonging.
Afraid to go to work, afraid to go to school,
afraid to go to worship. God, you are the God
of the foreigner, the wonderer, and the refugee. Wrap them
(01:46):
God in your mercy. Open the hearts of the leaders
to choose compassion over cruelty, wisdom over reaction. Forgive us, Father,
for the ways that we've turned against each other. Forgive
us for hatred, forgive us for race greed, and forgive
us God for indifference. Tear down walls of division and
rebuild us one people under your sovereignty. Let the Church
(02:09):
rise not in silence or complacency, but in love and
truth and unity and with courage. Lord, we ask you
to guid our leaders local and national, to act with justice,
to speak with wisdom, and to lead with humility. God,
we pray for peace that only you can bring, Not
a peace that ignores pain, but one that heals it,
(02:31):
not a piece of silence, but a peace rooted in
truth and reconciliation. Lord, do what only you can do.
Heal our land. God, you nine our hearts, renew our hope,
and help us be agents of light in the darkest hours.
Oh Father God, you said, if your people, who are
called by your name, will humble ourselves and pray and
(02:54):
seek your face and turn from our wicked ways, God,
we'll hear from heaven and you would heal our lands
or heal our land,
