Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie. It is time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
that you join along with me in prayer. And today
I'm thinking about today is the fourth of July. Today
is Independence Day, a day we celebrate freedom, but we
know that freedom is not free. So thank you to
(00:22):
our military personnel. We appreciate you. But today I want
to pray for our United States of America. Almighty and
Sovereign God, we come to you today in the name
of Jesus. We lift up the United States of America.
Not in pride, God, We've had enough of that. But God,
we come to you in desperate dependence on you. You
(00:44):
are the Lord of nations. You are the king above
every king. You are the righteous judge of all the earth.
And today, Lord, we cry out on behalf of this land,
from the mountains to the valleys, from the cities to
the country. God, let your presence sweep across this nation,
touch every heart. God, look in and move in every home,
(01:07):
every system, every soul. God, we ask you to stretch
out your hand of mercy and bring yeeling to a
divided and wounded and weary land. Lord God, we repent
for the ways we've turned away from you. Forgive us
God for idolatry. Forgive us God for injustice. Forgive us
God for pride and perversion in our land. Forgive us
(01:30):
for choosing politics over your principles. Forgive us God for
choosing comfort over conviction. Forgive us for being more loyal
to our flags and to people than to your cross.
But God, you said in your word in Second Chronicles
seven fourteen, if my people who are called by my
name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face,
(01:52):
and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear
from heaven. Then I will forgive their sin. Then I
will heal their land. Thank you for healing our land. God.
We're here today, your people on our needs. God. We
ask for your healing, not just in our bodies, God,
but in our hearts, in our spirits. God. We pray
(02:14):
for justice to roll down like waters, and righteousness like
a mighty stream. We lift up those in authority, our president,
our congress, our governors, our local leaders. God, let them
be surrounded by godly counsel. Let them make decisions aligned
with your will. For your people. Raise the bold voices
(02:36):
of truth and pullpits in schools, in boardrooms, in the media. God,
let revivals start in the church and overflow into the streets.
God tear down every stronghold of hate, every stronghold of fear,
of division and corruption. God replaced them with truth, with love,
and with unity and righteousness. Lord Jesus, protect our children. Lord,
(02:58):
protect our schools, our communities. Our church is got our borders.
Bless the military. God bless the first responders and every
person who puts their lives on the line for the
good of others. Heal the wounds of racism. God, poverty, violence,
and addiction that plague your people. Shine your light where
(03:19):
darkness has tried to reign. Let your spirit fall fresh
on this nation. Let the winds of revival blow from
coast to coast. Let the United States once again become
a nation's who's God is the Lord. You are our
only hope, our firm foundation, our hiding place in the storm.
(03:39):
So we say, God, bless America, not just with prosperity,
but with purity, with holiness. God, not just with security,
but with the spiritual awakening and revival. God, not just
with success, but with surrender to You. We declare that
Jesus is Lord over these United States of America. And
(04:00):
when you've begun, God, you are faithful to complete in us.
In the powerful, natchless, wonderful name of Jesus, we pray Amen. Amen,
