Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always, I ask
that you join along with me. It's labor day. Let's pray, y'all,
Heavenly Father, on this labor day, we give you thanks
for the gift of work. We thank you for the

(00:20):
strength and our bodies, the creativity and our minds, and
the skills you've placed in our hands. Lord, your word
reminds us in Colossians three twenty three that whatever we do,
we are to work at it with all our heart,
as working for you and not for man. Today, God,
we lift up every person who rises early, every person

(00:41):
who works diligently, and every person who sacrifices daily to
provide for their families and their communities. Lord, we recognize
that work is not always easy. Some face along our
Some face heavy burdens and unfair treatment. Others labor and
jobs that feel unseen and unappreciated. Yet we know that

(01:02):
you see every act of service, every moment of effort,
and you are the rewarder of those who remain faithful. Father,
remind us that our true worth is not in titles,
is not in our paycheck or positions, but in being
your sons and daughters created with your purpose. We pray
for those who are weary and exhausted, God renew their strength.

(01:25):
For those searching for work, open doors of opportunity. For
those who feel over looked, assure them that their labor
is not in vain. And for leaders, employers, and decision makers,
grant wisdom, God, fairness, and compassion that workplaces would be
marked by justice and dignity. On this day, we also

(01:47):
remember that even as we work, you call us into rest.
You created the Sabbath as a reminder that our identity
is not in how much we produce, but in who
we are. In You teach us balance. God, teach us
to balance labor with rest, diligence with peace, striving with stillness. Lord,

(02:11):
bless the work of every workers, the teachers, the builders,
the healthcare workers, the first responders, the entrepreneurs, the stay
at home parents, the service workers, the dreamers, and the doers.
Let their efforts bear fruit that brings life, hope, and
goodness into the world. And God, let everything we do

(02:33):
bring glory to You. We dedicate our work and our
rest to You Today. Lord, Let this Labor Day not
only be a day off, but a day to reflect,
a day to give faith, a day to recommit our hands,
our hearts, and our lives to service to you and
daily God. As we work, we do it as unto you.

(02:56):
In Jesus Mighty name, we pray
