Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer. I've got to admit, as
soon as I started hearing talks of government shut down,
it took me back to the last time the government
was shut down for what a month or two a man,
and I was thinking about my family members, my loved ones,
(00:21):
my friends who work for the government, and me knowing
how this shut down last time affected them. And here
we find ourselves there again. So I want to pray
for those affected by the government shut down. Heavenly Father,
in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you
today with heavy hearts, knowing that so many people are
(00:42):
hurting and uncertain because of this government shut down. Lord,
you see every family that is struggling, every worker that
has been furloughed, every household wondering how to make ends meet.
You see the stress, You see the fear, You see
the frustration, And God, we're grateful that you care. Your
word reminds us to cast our cares on you because
(01:06):
you care for us. So right now we lift up
every man, every woman, and every child impacted, asking you
to be their provider, their sustainer, and their peace in
the middle of this storm. Father, we pray for the leaders,
the lawmakers on both sides. You have placed them in
the position of authority, not to serve themselves, but to
(01:28):
serve the people. Soften their hearts. God, remove the pride,
remove the revenge, remove the selfish ambition, and replace it
with humility, compassion, and wisdom. Let them see beyond political
party lines and personal agendas, and let them remember the
citizens they were elected to serve. Lord, remind them that
(01:51):
leadership is stewardship, and one day they will give account
to you. God. We pray against the spirit of division
that is tearing at the fabric of our nation. Your
word tells us that a house divided against it self
cannot stand. So we ask in the mighty name of
Jesus that you heal the breach. Bind us together in unity,
(02:13):
Restore trust where there is suspicion, understanding, where there is hostility,
and dialogue where there is silence. Let your love and
righteousness roll down like waters in justice, like a mighty
stream in this land. Father, strengthen your people. Let this
crisis draw us closer to You and closer to one another.
(02:35):
Provide for every family that doesn't know how they're going
to pay their bills. Give peace to every parent worried
about their children. Let the church rise up in generosity
and compassion and in prayer during this time. Remind us
that through the systems of man, and though they may fail,
you never fail. You are still Jehovah Jira, You're still
(02:59):
our provider, you are still el Shade, the God Almighty.
And so we place this nation in your hands. We
place our leaders in your head. We place every family
impacted in your hands, and we ask that you bring resolution.
God you bring restoration, and God you bring revival. Out
of what the enemy meant or harm. We believe that
(03:22):
you're able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that
we could ask, or think or even imagine. And we
declare that the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
will God our hearts and our minds. In Christ Jesus
