Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
you to join along with me in prayer. You know,
I was thinking, so often we praying about this, and
we praying about that, and sometimes we just need to
pray that God would heal us from the decisions that
we've made that have hurt us, the consequences from the
(00:23):
things that we've done. Hmm. Gracious and merciful Father, in
the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you today,
humbled and completely honest before you, acknowledging that some of
the wounds that we carry we caused ourselves. There were
moments when we didn't wait on you, times we acted
(00:45):
out of fear instead of faith, seasons when our choices
were guided by pride, pain, or in patience. Lord, we've
made decisions that hurt us, and in some cases they
hurt other people too. But even now, in the aftermath
of our mistakes, God, we thank you for being the
God of mercy, the God who restores, the God who
(01:07):
takes broken peaces and makes something beautiful again. Father, right now,
with the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for your
forgiveness for every time we've leaned on our own understanding
instead of trusting your direction. We ask you to heal
the places in our hearts where regret has taken root,
where shame has whispered lies that say we're too far gone.
(01:31):
Remind us, Lord that your grace is greater than our guilt,
and your mercy is stronger than our mistakes. God, we
also pray for those who were affected by our decisions,
our loved ones, our children.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
God, Where our.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Words cut deep, God, bring healing where our choices caused
confusion or pain, Bring peace. God, Soften the hearts God,
that were wounded as a result of the things that
we've done.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Your love flow into.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Those spaces where our actions fell. Sure, God redeemed the relationships,
restore what was broken, and right new beginnings over the
places where we fell. Father, in the name of Jesus,
we surrender the what if. We surrender the should have,
could have? Would us the only ifs at your feet.
(02:22):
You know how to turn every wrong around. You know
how to make it a part of your divine plan.
You are the God who makes crooked places straight, who
brings beauty out of ashes, who uses even our failures
as building blocks for our future.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
So teach us, Lord, teach.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Us to learn from our mistakes instead of living in
those mistakes. Teach us God to move forward and wisdom
and humility and compassion. Let the pain of our past
decisions become the wisdom of our next steps. God creating
us a clean heart, ever new, the right spirits. God
washed away the residue of regret. Fill us God with
(03:06):
your peace, God, that peace that goes beyond our human understanding,
That peace God that comes from being.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Made hole by You and Lord.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Help us forgive, yes, others who have wronged us.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
But God, help us to forgive ourselves.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Sometimes that's the hardest part. Help us to see ourselves
through the eyes of your mercy, God redeemed and loved
and restored. Help us to remember that the same grace
that saved us is the same.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Grace that still sustains us.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Oh God, Today we lay down every mistake, every bad choice,
every moment we wish we could take back. We lay
it at the cross right now, and we declare that
the blood of Jesus covers it all right now. Heal
our hearts, God, heal our memories, God, heal our relationships.
Turn every scar into a testimony of your forgiveness and
(03:58):
your faithfulness. Thank you, Lord that even when we messed up,
you still call us yours. Thank you for your new
mercies every morning. Thank you that our story is not over.
It's just being rewritten by your grace.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
And in your love. In Jesus' name, Amen, Amen, and Amen.
