Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Nacky and it's time for us to
go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
that you join along with me in prayer. You know,
I was just thinking. You know, it's easy to love
somebody who loves you back and is good to you.
The challenge comes when we got to love like the
word of God tells us to love and First Corinthians
(00:20):
thirteen four through seven. And that's what I want to
pray of that Lord, teach us to love like you,
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. We come
before you today with open hearts, seeking to be more
like you in every way, God, seeking to love like you.
Your word tells us in First Corinthians thirteen that love
is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, It
(00:44):
does not boast, It is not proud, It keeps no
record of wrongs. Lord, this kind of love is so
different from the world's love. It's not shallow or fleeting,
it's deep. It's a steady love. It's a selfless love.
And Father, that's the love that we won't love flowing
through us. Lord, teach us patients the kind of patience
(01:04):
that waits without complaining, the kind of patience God, that
endures without giving up, the kind of patience that loves
even when it's not easy. Help us to love people
who test our patients, to respond with grace instead of frustration,
and to remember how patient, God, that you've been with
us through every season of our lives. Teach us kindness, Father,
(01:27):
in a world filled with criticism. Let our words build
up and not tear down. Let us be the ones
who show compassion, who offer a smile when others frowns,
who extend mercy when others judge. Help us to love
in ways that make people feel seen and valued and
cared for, just like you do with us every single day. Lord,
(01:47):
strip away every trace of pride in our hearts. Teach
us to celebrate others instead of competing with them. Help
us to serve quietly, to give freely, and to love humbly,
never seeking recognition, but always seeking to reflect your glory.
Oh Father God, remind us that true love doesn't keep sport,
it doesn't hold rutges, it doesn't dwell on who was
(02:09):
right and who was wrong. Help us to release the
pain of the past, to forgive freely, and to love unconditionally,
Because love, real love doesn't remember the hurt, It remembers
the healing. Come on, Jesus, God, your word says that
love always protects, always trust, always hopes, and always perseveres.
So teach us to be protectors of peace and carry
(02:31):
us of hope when others give up. Help us, God
to keep believing when hearts are broken. Help us to
keep loving when circumstances grow weary. Help us to keep
standing because love never fails. And you, Lord, our love. Father,
Let this love be more than words on a page.
God of words that we hear, But let it be
(02:51):
the rhythm of our hearts, the pattern of our lives,
the proof that we belong to you. Light in a
dark world. God, when we speak, let love be heard.
When we act, let love be seen. God, when we forgive,
let love be felt. And Lord, if we ever forget
how to love, remind us of the Cross, where perfect
love was poured out for imperfect people, Where patience, kindness, humility,
(03:15):
and sacrifice men and one powerful act of redemption. Some today, Father,
feel us again with your love, the love that heals,
the love that endures, the love that changes everything. Let
it overflow from us and to our families. Let it
overflow into our friendships, our community, and even towards those
who have hurt us. Because when we love like you,
(03:36):
we reflect Heaven on earth. When we shine light in darkness,
we become living examples of your grace. Thank you, Lord
for loving us beyond measure, and for teaching us day
by day to love like you in Jesus' name. Amen, Amen, Amen,
