Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time right now for
us to go to God in prayer. And as always,
I ask that you join along with me in prayer.
Hezekai Walker has a song I need you to Survive,
and at my family reunion from time to time we'll
sing that song and you think about the lyrics. I
won't harm you with the words of my mouth. I
(00:23):
love you and I need you to survive. I want
to pray about that, Oh, Heavenly Father, in the name
of Jesus Christ, we come before you today, hearts humbled
and spirits united, Thanking you God for the gift of community.
Thank you for the people that You've placed in our
lives to walk beside us on this journey of faith. Lord,
(00:45):
your word reminds us that we are one body, many members,
each one important, each one needed. And today God, we
declare from the depths of our hearts. I need you,
you need me, and we are all a part of God,
God's body. Father, in a world that tries to divide
and isolate us, teach us to see each other through
(01:07):
the eyes of love. Help us to remember that we
are stronger together, that my brother's pain is my pain.
That my sister's victory is my joy. Bind us together,
Lord with cords that cannot be broken, chords of compassion, forgiveness,
and unity in the spirit. Lord, When envy tries to rise,
let love overcome it. When pride tries to separate us,
(01:30):
let humility bring us back together. When offenses try to
build walls, let your grace tear them down. Remind us
God that we were never meant to do life alone.
You designed us to need one another, to pray for
one another, to lift one another, to speak life when
the world speaks death. Lord, give us the courage to say,
(01:53):
I won't harm you with the words of my mouth.
I love you, I need you to survive. Father, heal
the broken places in our relationships. Heal families torn apart
by misunderstanding. Heal friendships wounded God by pride. Heal church
is divided by difference. Let your love flow like healing
(02:14):
all manning what's been torn down, restoring what's been lost,
and renewing what's been weakened. God, make us peacemakers, teach
us to be encourage us. Let our words bring life,
not death. Hope not heard. When we see someone struggling,
help us not to turn away, but to reach out
with love, with prayer, with compassion. Lord, fill us with
(02:36):
such divine love that it overflows beyond ourselves. Let it
reach our homes, our neighborhoods, and our workplaces and our communities.
Because love, real love, is what holds us together. And
through that love we reflect You, the one who loved
us first. So today, Father, we thank you for every
person you placed in our lives, for those who pray
(02:58):
for us in silence, for those who lift us up
when we're low, For those who remind us we're not alone.
And we pray, Lord, help us to be that person
for someone else. God, we need each other. Lord, We
need your spirit to buy in our hearts as one.
We need your grace to forgive. We need your strength
to adoring. We need your love to survive. And as
(03:21):
we stand together in faith, we declare, I need you,
you need me. We're all a part of God's body,
and with your love holding us together, Lord, we will survive.
In Jesus's mighty name, we pray a man Amen, Amen,
