Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for us to go to God in prayer,
and as always, I ask that you join along with me.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
You know, it's Christmas Eve.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
And many of us are excited about the holiday.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
And we've trimmed the tree. We've been in.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
The kitchen cooking and preparing. I know I have been
in there, bacon pies and cooking and all of that,
getting ready for family dinner. But my heart is grieved
when I think about the many people who won't be
surrounded by family and friends and loved ones during this
Christmas season. My heart is grieved when I think about
individuals who are spending their first Christmas without someone that
(00:38):
they love or care about them. Maybe it's their fifth,
or sixth, or ten, but it's always a difficult time.
I want to pray for you this morning. I want
to pray that you remember the reason for the holiday season.
And I do also want to pray for your comfort,
your peace, and your joy, Father God, in the name
of Jesus Christ. As we gather for Christmas, our hearts
(01:00):
feel a little heavy sometimes, God, with the absence of
a loved one. We miss their laughter, we miss their warmth.
We've missed their joy, we miss their presence Lord, during
this time where so many are celebrating and having joy
over the holiday season, we ask for your comfort, for
your peace.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It goes beyond our human understanding.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
For those that are dealing with an empty void, a space,
a seat that's normally filled by a loved.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
One at the dinner table.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
We ask God that you wrap your loving arms around
those that experience loneliness, a heartbreak, a heartache during this
holiday season.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Wrap your loving arms around us.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Give us your peace, Help us to remember the precious
memories that we've shared with loved ones. Give us strength
a face of challenges ahead. And God, help us to
find solace in knowing that our loved ones are in
your presence. God is God to find joy in the
simple moments and to celebrate the gift of life that
we still have. God, let your spirit, the spirit of Christmas,
(02:05):
shine brightly within us. Even God, those that are experiencing
sorrow and grief. Help us God to carry the spirit
of our loved ones and the memory of our loved
ones in our heart today and every day. Thank you
God for your promise that you never leave us, You
never forsake us, but You're with us always. Thank you
for the joy of Christmas. Thank you, Lord God, for
(02:28):
the joy unspeakable that you promised in
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Your word in jesus'ned Amen.
