Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time right now for today's word. You need
to build some altars. You need to build some altars.
Genesis thirty five seven says Jacob built an altar there
and named the place El Bethel, which means God of Bethel,
(00:26):
because God had appeared to him there when he was
fleeing from his brother Esau. As Jacob did. In today's scripture,
we can all look back in life and see times
when God made a way where there seemed to have
been no way. We knew it was the hand of
God that protected us from a car accident, that promoted
(00:47):
us when we know we didn't deserve it, that brought
us through a loss, that healed us when the doctor
gave us a Graham diagnosis. See those weren't Jess coincidences.
In the old, when these kind of things happened, people
took the time to build an altar to thank God
for what he'd already done. See, they would look back
(01:11):
at those altars, and that was fuel for their faith.
They knew that if He did it back then, he
would do it again. Well, the Word of God tells
us in Hebrews thirteen and eight. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday,
today and forever. If you find it in the word
of God, you see the example, You see what he's
(01:31):
done for somebody else. Guess what he'll do the same
thing for you. We should still be building altars today,
so to speak to remind us of the wonderful things
that God has done in I in life, so that
we take the time to say God, thank you. Yell.
Is so easy to get busy that we don't recognize
(01:52):
the blessings of God. We take the favor, we take
the healing, we take the protection and the provision of
God for granted. But I always say, if you take
the time to think, you'll begin to think. When you
take the time to acknowledge what God has done, you
recognize He brought you safely through a sickness. He gave
(02:13):
you that person to love. He opened a door that's
taking you further than you ever imagined. When you pause
to say God, I recognize this is your goodness. Thank
you for your favor, thank you for your mercy. That's
building an altar. You need to build some altars to
remind yourself just how good, just how faithful, just how
(02:36):
merciful our God is. Fabaly God, thank you, Thank you
for the strength that rises within us whenever we remember
what you've done in our lives. Thank you for the
countless times you made a way when there seems to
have been no way, when you open doors that seem
to be close. God, we will build altars and remember
(02:58):
your goodness in our lives in Jesus' name. Hey, now
that's your work for today. I want you to take
that apply it to your everyday life and you continue
to be encouraged and inspired. It is your early morning
praise party. I am Sherry Mackie.
