Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie
in his time right now for today's word. He can
still get you to where you need to be. Jonah
two and one says, in my distress, I called to
the Lord, and he answered me from deep in the
realm of the day, that I called for help, and
(00:21):
you listened to my crime. You know it takes boldness
of faith to do as Jonah did and ask for
God's favor when you know you to messed up and
in spite of your mistakes. You've read the story about Jonah.
The Lord gave this message to Jonah's son of a Midtide,
(00:42):
get up and go to the great city of Nineveh,
announce my judgment against it, because I have seen how
wicked it's people are. But y'all know Jonah. Jonah got
up and went in the opposite direction to get away
from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa,
where he found a ship leaving for Tarsish. He brought
a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from
(01:04):
the Lord's salling to Tarsish. Well, y'all know that big
old prepared fish swallowed him up. Y'all. Jonah had disobeyed
God's word to go to Nineveh, and it was at
that moment he said today's scripture. In my distress, I
called to the Lord and he answered me. From deep
(01:27):
in the realm of the dead, I called for help,
and you listen to my crime, y'all. He was inside
the belly of the fish. I'm sure every thought was
telling him, this is what you deserved because you disobeyed God.
God is finished with you. But instead of feeling guilty
and condemned, you know what Jonah's attitude was. God, I
(01:49):
was wrong, but I believe you will bring me out
of this pit and help me to fulfill my destiny.
That's exactly what God, in his great mercy did for
Jonah and set him a second time to Ninevah, listen
to me today. Listen to me with your good ear.
(02:10):
You may have gone the wrong way, you may have
done the wrong thing, but God is going to give
you another chance and even another chance to fulfill his
best plan for your life. If you start to honor
God right where you are, being your best, serving others,
and doing your best at all times in spite of
(02:33):
your past, the right doors will open, the right people
will show up. God knows how to make up for
the lost time. He can still get you to where
you're supposed to be. Oh Father, God, thank you that
when we make mistakes and bring trouble upon ourselves, you
cover us with your mercy. You give us second chances. God,
(02:53):
help us to remember your compassion and that we are
still your children. Even when we mess up. God, we
believe you'll get us to where we're supposed to be.
In Jesus' name, Now that's your word for today. I
want you to take that apply it to your everyday
life and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It's
Charlabic praise party. I am Sherry Mackey.
