Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time right now for today's word, Finding purpose
in the Valley. Finding Purpose in the Valley. Psalms twenty
three and four says, even though I walk through the
(00:21):
Valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me, your rod, your staff, they
comfort me. We all love the part of Psalms twenty
three where David says, the Lord is my shepherd. He
makes me to lie down and gring pastures. He leaves
me beside the steel waters. Those words paint such a
(00:43):
peaceful picture rest, refreshment, blessing. But then David makes a shift.
Even though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow
of Death, he is reminding us that the same shepherd
who leads us into seasons of peace is also the
(01:03):
one who leads us through the valley the valley. Seasons
aren't easy. They may come in the form of disappointment.
They may come in the form of a closed door,
a health battle, or a sudden loss of something dear. Naturally,
we wonder why why this valley? Lord? But here's the key.
(01:26):
If it wasn't ultimately for your good your good shepherd
would not have allowed it. God never leads us to
a place that doesn't serve his greater purpose. That valley
is not the end of your story. It's a passageway.
It's not designed to break you, but to build you.
It's not meant to weaken you, but to strengthen you.
(01:49):
You may not see it yet, but there's a blessing
hidden in the valley. Perhaps God is deepening your faith,
positioning you for greater influence, or preparing you for doors.
If you couldn't have walked through on your own without
that very experience. So instead of fighting your valley truths,
(02:09):
choose to trust your shepherd, stay in courage and expectant.
David didn't say I'll stay in the valley. He said
I'll walk through the valley you're passing through, and on
the other side there are green pastures. On the other
side there are steel waters waiting again. In fact, often
(02:30):
after the valley comes, a season of promotion comes, a
season of new opportunities come. So today, instead of asking
why this valley, start declaring, Lord, I trust you, Lord,
I'm looking for the blessing in this place. Father, Thank you.
(02:53):
The no valley that we walk through is wasted. Thank
you that you are with us in the dark places,
that us, that you're comforting us, that you're protecting us. God,
we trust that you are using every challenge to work
for our good, to strengthen us, and to move us forward. God,
we declare that even in the valley, we will not fear,
(03:13):
but we will look for the blessing in Jesus' name. Hey,
now that's your word for today. I want you to
take that apply it to your everyday life and you
continue to be encouraged and inspired as you find purpose
in your valley. With me, your girls, Sherry Mackie
