Today's Word 10-01-25: Choose Joy Anyway

Nobody, and now do mean nobody? Does it like your
early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie in its
time right now for today's word. Choose joy anyway. Choose
joy anyway. First, Thessalonians five sixteen says in the Amplified

(00:22):
be happy in your faith and rejoice and be glad
hearted continually or always. Happiness is not about what's happening
around you. It's about what's happening inside of you. When
the apostle Paul wrote that we should be glad hearted continually,
he wasn't saying life would be easy or circumstances would

(00:45):
always go our way. He was saying that no matter
what comes, whether people treat us right or whether people
treat us wrong, whether our plans succeed or whether they
fall apart, we can choose to live with joy. See
too often we hold our happiness hostage to conditions. I'll

(01:05):
be happy when I get that promotion, I'll be happy
when things calm down. I'll be happy when I make
up for my mistakes. But God never asks us to
wait for perfection before we enjoy our lives. Happiness is
not earned, it's received, and sometimes the greatest step of

(01:29):
faith you can take is simply giving yourself permission to
be happy right now. Maybe you've been through disappointments, maybe
you feel unworthy of joy, or maybe you're worried that
if you smile or laugh, people won't understand. But hear this.
God created you to live with gladness. He gave you

(01:52):
the capacity for laughter, the ability to rejoice, and the
gift of joy that comes from His spirit. Joy is
a birthright in Christ. Each morning, you have a choice.
You can rehearse the disappointments of yesterday, or you can declare,
I am blessed, I am grateful, I will be happy.

(02:12):
When you think joyful thoughts, you create room for God's
goodness to flourish. When you expect joy, it shows up.
Scripture says joy comes in the morning. That means, no
matter what happened yesterday, today holds the possibility of the gladness.
Don't wait for happiness to find you, decide to walk

(02:34):
into it yourself. Today. Give yourself permission to enjoy the
life that God gave you. Father, thank you that happiness
is not about our circumstances, but about our faith and
our trust in You. Thank you for creating us to
live with joy, with peace, and with gladness God. We

(02:55):
choose today to be grateful, to rejoice, and to give
ourselves permission to be happy in Jesus' name. Hey, now
that's your word for today. Take it applied to your
everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged and inspired.
