Today's Word 10-06-25: Heart Over Performance

I am Sherry Mackey at its time, right now for
today's word, heart over performance, Heart over performance. Matthew twenty
two thirty seven says Jesus said to him, you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart, with
all your soul, and with all your mind. We all

(00:24):
have areas where we struggle. We make mistakes, we give
into temptation, we lose our temper, or we compromise when
we shouldn't. Often these failures weigh on us, and the
voices whisper you don't deserve God's favor. You failed again.
Just sit on the sidelines. But here's the truth. God

(00:45):
isn't measuring your words by your performance. He isn't looking
for perfection. He's looking at your heart. He sees the
inner desire to love him. He sees your desire to
honor him. He sees your desire to follow him. Even
when it's heard, your heart matters more than your perfect behavior.

(01:06):
Even if you stumble, if your heart is turned toward God,
he still delights in you. He knows your weaknesses. Yet
he sees your willingness to love him, to seek him,
and to grow in him. His grace is sufficient for you.
His grace covers our imperfections, His grace covers us, and

(01:31):
his faithfulness covers our failures. What God wants is a
heart that says, Lord, I love you. God wants a
heart that says, I may fail, but I choose you
every day. So today, focus less on how perfect your
performance is and more on keeping your heart aligned with God.
He will meet you in your desire to love him,

(01:53):
and He will show himself strong in your life. Your commitment,
even in the midst of struggles, is what opens the
door to His blessings, his guidance, and his favor. Does
that give you an excuse to sin. Absolutely not. But
if you sin, like the word says, if you confess
your sins, he's faithful and He's just to forgive you

of your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Thank you,
Jesus Father. Thank you that you look at our hearts
rather than our performance. Thank you that even when we
stumble or fall short, you see our heart's desire to
love and to honor You. God. Help us to keep

(02:39):
our hearts focused on You, and to trust your strength
when we feel weak, and your guidance in every area
of our lives. Oh God, we want to honor you
in all that we do in Jesus' name. Now that's
your word for today. I want you to take that
apply that to your everyday life and you continue to
