Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time right now for today's word. When God
puts it out for good Isaiah forty three seventeen through nineteen,
it says the God who summons horses and chariots and armies,
(00:20):
they lie down and then can't get up. They're snuffed
out like so many candles. Forget about what's happened. Don't
keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm
about to do something brand new. You said, share it
as in the Bible. Is sure is Isaiah forty three
seventeen through nineteen. In the message translation, you know, when
(00:43):
God led the Israelites out of Egypt, he didn't just
bring them out of bondage. He made sure their pass
could never come up against them again. Pharaoh's army chased
them to the edge of the Red Sea, but God
opened the path through the water. When his people crossed safely,
(01:03):
he closed the sea and immediately took his enemy out.
Their enemies were gone like candles in the night. If
God had only brought them out, they would have always
lived looking over their shoulder, wondering if Pharaoh might return,
if the sound of hoofs would once again echo in
the distance. But God, in his mercy, didn't leave any
(01:26):
room for fear. He dealt with the enemy completely. He
drowned the enemies once and for all, the enemies that
once held them captive, and silenced every threat that dared
to chase them. Well, maybe today you're living with a
similar sense of lingering anxiety. The memory of your past,
(01:49):
the mistakes you made, the people who hurt you, they
whisper that there still had power over you. You wonder if
your failures will come back to haunt you, or if
the guilt and the shame will ever fully go away.
But hear this today, hear me, God has already handled
what's behind you. What try to destroy you has been
(02:13):
permanently snuffed out by God's grace. The same God who
silence Pharaoh's army has silenced every voice of accusation against you.
Through Jesus Christ, your past has been washed away. The guilt,
the shame, the regret. It's all drowned beneath the flood
of His mercy. You don't have to live afraid or
(02:35):
keep revisiting what God is already buried. He didn't just
bring you through the difficulty. He's freed you from it completely.
Now God is saying to you, forget about what's happened,
be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand new.
The Red Sea moments in your life weren't just about escape.
(02:55):
They were about entrance, interests into something greater. So stop
the passes, start preparing for the promise. When God snuffed
something out, it stays out. He's cleared the path for
you to walk forward without fear, full of peace, full
of hope, and full of holy expectation. Father, Thank you,
(03:17):
Thank you that the power of Jesus's blood has put
an end to everything that once held us captive. Thank
you for drowning our guilt, for drowning our shame, for
drowning our regrets, and for giving us brand new starts.
Help us God, to walk forward in freedom and confidence,
trusting that what you've snuffed out can never rise again.
(03:41):
In Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today. Oh
take it applied to your everyday life. In you, Katie,
to be encouraged and inspired with me, your girl, Cherie Mackie.
It's your early morning praise party.
