Today's Word 11-13-25: Called by Name

It's your early body praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time right now. Four Today's word called by name,
Called by name, Luke nineteen and five says in the
New Living Translation. When Jesus came by, he looked at
Zachaus and called him by name, Zakaz. He said, quick,

(00:25):
come down, I must be a guest in your home today.
Zachaus wasn't the kind of man most people liked. He
was a chief tax collector who had become wealthy by
taking advantage of other people. He lived with labels crook, trader, sinner.

(00:46):
But the day Jesus came to town, something stirred in
his heart. Maybe he thought, if I could just see him,
So he climbed up a sycamore tree to get a glimpse.
What zach Chaas didn't realize was that Jesus already knew
where he was and what he needed. Out of the

(01:10):
whole crowd, Jesus stopped, looked up and called him by name, Zachaz.
Come down. Imagine his shock. Jesus not only saw him,
he knew him. He didn't call him by his reputation,

(01:30):
He didn't call him by his mistakes or failures. He
called him by name, not just any name, but a
name that meant pure one. See, that's what grace looks like.
Jesus doesn't label us by our failures, our past or
what others say about us. He calls us by what

(01:51):
He created us to be. He speaks identity where others
speak shame. Maybe today you feel unsafe, you feel overlooked,
you feel unworthy. But God knows your name, he knows
your story, he knows the pain that you've endured. He

(02:13):
knows your hopes and dreams, and you know what. He
knows your potential. He knows what he placed on the
inside of you. Well, just like Zachaus came down from
that tree and welcomed Jesus joyfully, you too, can open
your heart and you can let him in today. When

(02:33):
you do, transformation will begin in your life. The same
Savior who calls zachchaius peer one calls you his beloved.
He calls you forgiven, He calls you chosen, he calls
you redeemed. Don't let the crowd's opinion of you define you.
Let the voice of Jesus do that. Oh Father God,

(02:56):
thank you for knowing us by name and calling us
according to who you created us to be. Thank you
for seeing past our flaws and failures, and for calling
us forgiven and free. Who will help us to walk
in that truth and to live as the people you
see we are in Jesus' name. That's your word for today.
