Speaker 1 (00:00):
Nobody, and I do mean nobody. Does it like your

(00:03):
early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie. It is
time right now for today's word. Refuse the rise. Refuse
the rise. Ephesians four twenty six says, and don't sin
by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go
down while you're still angry. Life will always present moments

(00:28):
to stir up anger, frustration, disappointment, and discouragement. Those feelings
are real, and God is not asking us to pretend
that those feelings don't exist. What he is asking is
that we don't let those emotions take the driver's seat
in our lives. You can't stop the train of negative

(00:49):
feelings from pulling into the station, but you can choose
whether you get on board. Imagine yourself standing at a
train platform. In your spirit, emotions are rolling in one
after another, now boarding the anger express, final destination, resentment,
now boarding the worry line, stopping at anxiety, sleepless nights,

(01:13):
and fear, now boarding the self pity train, connecting to bitterness, hopelessness,
and isolation. Many times, without even thinking, we hand over
our ticket and we just climb on board. But God
is challenging you today You don't have to ride every

(01:34):
train that pulls into your life. Yes, anger may knock,
but you don't have to invite it in. Worry may
wave at you, but you can wave back and keep walking.
A fence may try to pick you up, but you
can decline the ride. When those emotions call out all aboard,

(01:55):
you can boldly say no, thank you, I'm not traveling
to that desertation. Instead, choose a different route, the joy life,
the peace route, the gratitude train, the victory Express. Come on, Jesus.
Choose not to board the wrong train, and choosing not
to do that doesn't mean you deny your feelings. It

(02:18):
means you refuse to live by them. You decide, I'm
going deeper than how I feel today. I choose faith
over frustration, gratitude over grumbling, in peace over panic. Every
day presents new opportunities to be offended, up set, angry,
and discouraged. But every day also presents the opportunity to

(02:39):
rise above those emotions and choose God's way instead. When
you make that choice consistently, your emotions stop ruling you
and you start ruling them. Oh Father, God, thank you
that even though we can't control everything, that happens around us.
We can control what we all into our hearts. Thank

(03:02):
you that we don't have to get on board with anger, worry,
or discouragement. Help us to guard our spirit, choose joy,
release offense, and walk in peace. Oh God, we declare
that our emotions will not rule us. We will be
ruled by your spirit. In Jesus' name. That's your word
for today. Take it applied to your everyday life and

(03:23):
you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It's your earnybody.
Praise party ah with me, your girl. Sherry Macki

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
