Today's Word 12-03-25: Growth in the Shadows

Nobody, and I do mean nobody does it like your
early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie, and it's
time right now for today's word. Growth in the shadows,
Growth in the shadows. Hebrews three and five says Moses
was faithful as a servant.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
In all God's house.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
You know, throughout scripture, every person who accomplished something great
had to go through dark places.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Moses is a perfect example.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
He made a grave mistake and killed an Egyptian, thinking
he could deliver justice in his own strength.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Oh help me Jesus.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
That act led to years of isolation, forty long years
on the back side of the desert. He might have
felt forgotten, useless, or like his life was wasted, but
those years were not wasted at all. In the dark places,
Moses was being shaped. He was developing patience, humility, discernment,

and trust in God. His character was being refined so
that when the time came, he could step into his
full calling. Without that season of preparation, he could never
have held up his rod and parted the Red Sea,
or even led millions of Israelites out of slavery. The

(01:26):
dark place was necessary for the greatness that lay ahead.
You know your season may look different from the principle,
but the same principle applies when life feels confusing, you lonely,
things are unfair. Remember that God is working even in
the shadows. It's in the quiet, it's in the difficulty.

(01:49):
It's in those sometimes discouraging moments that your spiritual muscles
are strengthened. In the dark, you learn to pray with persistence.
You learn to trust beyond what you see. You learn
to seek God's wisdom above all. You go closer to him,
You reevaluate what truly matters, and you prepare for the
next step of your journey. Don't resent the darkness, don't

rush through it or despise it. Instead, let it mold you,
let it teach you perseverance, let it refine your faith.
These shadows are not the end. They are preparation for
your breakthrough. The dark place is not punishment, It's a
prerequisite for your destiny. Oh Father God, thank you that

(02:40):
you work in the shadows of our lives to prepare
us for what is to come. Thank you that even
when we feel forgotten or stuck, you are shaping our character,
strengthen in our faith and teaching us to trust you fully.

We will embrace these dark places, knowing that you are
using everything dark places to bless us and prepare us
for the destiny that You've planned for our lives in
Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your word for today. Take
it applied to your everyday life, and you continue to
