Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your early what he praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
and it's time right now for today's word, Ready for
the unexpected. Two Timothy four and two says be prepared
in season and out of season. You know when the
apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to be prepared in season and
(00:21):
out of season, he was speaking about preaching the word faithfully.
But the principle reaches far beyond ministry. It speaks to
how we live while we're waiting on God. There are
seasons when everything is flowing, doors are opening, and prayers
seem to be answered quickly. Then there are out of
season moments when the medical report doesn't look good, when
(00:44):
the job market tightens up, when relationships are strained, or
progress feels painfully slow. Being prepared doesn't mean pretending everything
is fine. It means keeping your heart anchored in faith
regardless of the season, and you stay grateful and humble.
Out of season, you stay hopeful and expectant. You don't
(01:05):
let discouragement talk you into lowering your expectation or shrinking
your faith. You don't put God in a box and
decide how, when or through whom He has to work
too often we think God can only bless us when
conditions are right, but or we think that when the
economy is strong, will be blessed when we feel confident
(01:26):
when resources are abundant. But God specializes in showing a
battle season. He brings provision and famine. He brings peace
and chaos, healing and weakness, and favor. When the odds
are stacked against you, what looks like delay to you
is often preparation in God's hands. In numbers eleven, the
(01:46):
Lord acts Moses. A powerful question is the Lord's arm
too short? In other words, do you really think anything
can limit me? Seasons don't limit God. Statistics don't limit God.
Your past doesn't limit God. The only thing that can
restrict what God does is our unwillingness to have faith
(02:09):
and believe beyond what we can see. So I want
you to stay prepared in your mindset, keep speaking the
words of faith, keep doing the right thing when it
feels unrewarded, Keep praising when nothing appears to be changing.
Get up every morning with quiet expectancy, believing that God
can interrupt your routine at any moment with his goodness.
(02:31):
When you live this way, you won't be shocked. When
God suddenly turns things around, you'll say I was ready.
I knew he could do it out of season. As
often when God does his best work come own. Jesus, Father,
thank you that you're not limited by seasons. You're not
limited by circumstances or conditions. Help us to stay prepared
(02:52):
in faith when things are going well and when they're not. God,
we choose to trust you beyond what we can see
and expect you to move in unexpected ways. God, we
believe your power is at work in our lives right now.
In Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your word for today.
Take it haha. Apply it to your everyday life. You
(03:13):
get ready for the unexpected. On the party, your early
wedding praise party with me, your girls. Sherry Mackie
