us in the future, Hello, how's the weather? Anyways, this
is what we like to do during football season.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Whether it's better here than is Lobock.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
We now have to go to the third best conference,
and we'll give you some scores around this third best conference,
and that is the Big Twelve. Of course, a couple
Friday night games that took place Houston taking care of Colorado.
Now here's the thing, Shane, I'm gonna say, this is
Dion in trouble in Colorado. No, No, not this year.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Why Because for one, they give a massive extension and
they can't buy his contract.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
That's the best the logistical reason why.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
But the actual reason, the actual like you know, I
guess metaphysical reason why, is that Colorado realizes that they
have not had this sort of relevancy and eyes on
the program and TV deals in years.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
But let's be clear, they are not the Colorado from
the last two seasons. No, you know, there was a
couple guys out there that didn't even have the name
on the back of their jerseys. Okay, Colorado loses to
Houston thirty six to twenty and in the most boring
his team in the Big Twelve, Kansas State loses to Arizona,
who is also three And oh, Shane, I want to
kind of throw out all your undefeateds here. Okay, So
(02:01):
Houston is three and oh now defeating Colorado. Arizona is
undefeated at three and oh defeating Kansas State Friday night
twenty three to seventeen.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Ok okay, hold on now, time out.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Because yesterday we had, of course, some big twelve action
Iowa State, who hasn't really played anybody. They defeat Arkansas
State twenty four to sixteen. They're four to oh Shane, Now,
Utah defeats Wyoming, gives Wyoming their first loss.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Right, so Wyoming's a pretty good club.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Right, Well, I'm the game of battle the first time.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, yeah, the first quarter and the first half because
there's only three nothing, but Utah pulls it out, you know,
two touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter a piece
to get it thirty one to six. Your Texas Tech
Red Raiders are three and oh defeating Oregon State, who's
a awful team.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yep. Okay, so I want you to name.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
To me right now because they defeated Oregon State forty
five to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Who has Texas Tech played Oregon State? And who else?
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Arkansas Pine Bluff?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Oh, you're asking me for the actual schedule and three
wins Kent State.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
So you're gonna tell me that they're gonna win the
Big Twelve.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
I would tell you that.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I would tell you that the level of dominance shows
how good of a team they are, the same way
that people would give the Alabama and the Georgias of
the world the number one seed after the beating Nickels
State Nickel State sixty three to seven, in the same
dominating fashion. I believe that if you play, if you
play good opponents and you beat them, that's credence. But
if you dominate teams that you should you should dominate.
That also is the same level of consistency.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Okay, and Baylor defeats Samford forty two to seven. Now
the upset, I guess there was an upset yesterday in
West Virginia beating Pittsburgh thirty one to twenty four.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
That one went into overtime.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Cincinnati handling Northwestern State seventy to zero. Wow, TCU handling
Abilene Christian forty two to twenty one.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
And in the late game last night.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Arizona State defeat Texas State thirty four to fifteen. Again,
go over your undefeated in the Big Twelve and give
me a realistic shot here. Texas Tech is going to
enter Big Twelve play next week.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
I will still say, I will still say I still
think tex should win the Big twelve. I will say
right now, you know, the best team that I've seen
play in the Big twelve is right now.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Who It's Baylor.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
They're two and one.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I think Baylor is the best team in the Big
twelve right now.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
I think, to be fair, the best team. I think
Utah is the best team twelve. They never really played anybody.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
But then it's the same creatings as Tech. You understand
that when you dominate a team, you should dominate that.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
That's what I'm telling you is that the Big twelve.
You don't see them playing tough opponents in their first
three games, Shane.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well, Baylor did. That's why I give them the.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Credit because they're they lost and they have their two
and one right.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
They lost.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
They lost Auburn, that was a close game. They beat SMU,
who I guess might actually be overrated.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
If I were to ask you your confidence level of
your Texas Tech.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Red Raiders, yeah, I give it a nine out of ten.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
How many games in the Big twelve were they going
to win?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Well, well, since Kansas State looks a lot worse than
I expected.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Their schedulem I should be easier.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
The biggest the biggest question marks I have for them
are gonna be b YU in Utah because BYU.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
If you get BYU at home, which is good, you
do yeah, and that's always a point.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
BYU is a scary place to play.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
It is you know, they have a grey homeboat advantage.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
They do, and they have the best mascot I think
in college all around.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
I think he beats the duck. By the way, did
you see that yesterday?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
The Northwestern wild Cat was mocking and saying where's your head?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
You know, because ready lost last week on the motorcycle.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
But Texas Tech takes on Utah next week, and then
they traveled to Houston the following and then they have
Kansas Arizona State.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
They've got their gauntlet of the Big Twelve right out
the start.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
That's what I think you got to watch out for Utah.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
You should be able to handle Houston because again you're
gonna have a good following go down to Houston. It's
almost like a road game. Houston doesn't have a good
fan base for the Big Twelve. It's usually packed by
the other fan bases. And of course you've got the
Texas Tech alumni out there in Houston and everywhere else.
You got Kansas. I have not sold on Kansas. I'm
being anything. They were kind of up and coming, but
(06:02):
now they've kind of taken a couple.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Of steps back.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
You gotta watch out for Arizona State though you're at
Arizona State again, they're the defending Big twelve guys. You know,
if you're gonna beat the champ, what do you have
to do? You have to go there and beat the champ,
you know. And then you have Oklahoma State who's terrible,
and you got the most boring his team out there
in the Big twelve, Kansas State. But again, like your
game BYU, I think I'm gonna give you a win
(06:25):
against BYU just because you're at home.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I appreciate that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
And then you have UCF who's nothing. And then you
follow it. Now, this is a scary game at West Virginia.
At West Virginia is your last game. It's going to
be cold up there. You got to watch out for
that one.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
It gets colder in Loveck. Have you ever been to
love It. I know you've been to San angels I used.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
To go to Loveck all the time for the weekend.
Then you're aware.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
You're aware that even though it's a Texas town, it
gets it gets big ten weather.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Well it does because there's nothing to block the wind
up there.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
I used to work.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
I used to work in the back of a warehouse
at a grocery store, and I would do the morning
shift and we would we would unload the pallets off
the truck and then and we would stock them before
the customers got there. One morning, it was so cold,
I believe it was like two or three degrees on
on my little on my on my indicator, a milk
a milk carton crat cracked off a pallett and it
spilt down the metal ramp. And you know what happened
(07:21):
when that milk reached the bottom, it froze. It was
freezing on impacts from the from the metal. That's how
cold it would get in Lubick. So the weather ain't
gonna be an issue.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Okay, all right, And then moving on over.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
As we got a couple of minutes left in this segment,
we're moving over to the sec SEC. The best conference
in college football. Great schedule yesterday chomps the Gators, which,
by the way, I would love to play the l
s U student chant, but I can't.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
We've all heard it. Hey, that's where I have to
say it. That's where I'm gonna stop it.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
That's the If you want to know it, I'll share
it later on my social media. L s U defeats
flo Florida, and now Florida's one and two. Florida's in
trouble again. Here we go, rinsewash, repeat of the Florida Gators.
LSU beats him twenty to ten. The game in the SEC, though,
yesterday was Georgia going into Tennessee and defeating the Tennessee
Bowls forty four to forty one. I can tell you
(08:17):
who doesn't have friends on that campus today in Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
The kicker. He missed kicker anymore. You have to blame
the dude. He's the first guy. Okay, he's the blaming
the kicker.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
The kicker is always the redheaded step child in every
football family.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yeah, anyone would tell you though, if you have to
blame the kicker, that major team did something wrong. You
know that's why the kicker is on the field for
like eight plays a game.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
But he okay, he should be able.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
And Dan Campbell will tell you this of the Detroit Lions,
he should be able to execute if he's only out
there for eight plays.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Oh, Dan Campble would go for it.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
He wouldn't kick the ball.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Exactly because he doesn't trust a kicker. You should trust
a kicker. But here's the problem. And I was saying
this to Vanessa the other day. Kickers practice one thing
when they're out there. They practiced on hitting the post
on the side right because they want to go down
the middle, so they turn over to the side. And
this is what I used to do in high school
is you would turn over to the side of the
field and you would kick the field goal and you
(09:09):
would try to kick the post. Well, your mind is
set to kick the post. These poor kids are kicking
the post now. Granted these kids have monster legs. Now,
I mean, a fifty yard shot is a chip shot now,
Shane in college football. But where Tennessee messed up yesterday
is that five yard false start.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Hypel choked, he got panicked.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
He sends out his kicking team with seven seconds left,
he misses.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
It wide left or wide right in this case.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Just like the Buffalo Bills did against the New York Giants,
and that was a long time ago. But Georgia comes
back in overtime, they score a touchdown forty four to
forty one, and they keep that streak alive of beating
Tennessee to now eight in a row. Texas, you struggled,
you won twenty seven to ten. Get back into that
(10:00):
here in a second. But Texas A and M with
a huge win last night against Notre Dame again, make
your extra point kids, Texas A and M wins forty
one to forty. Vanderbilt with the upset over South Carolina, Yeah,
thirty one to seven.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
I'm curious to see where the injury to the Leonora
Sellers is because he did not return.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Same, Yeah, Sellers did not return in which hurts South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
They fall to.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Owen won the sec where you can't do that. Oklahoma
takes care of Temple forty two to three. And perhaps
one of the greatest calls yesterday the OU radio broadcast.
As the running back was running into the end zone,
he ran over a defensive back and when he did that,
he goes Feathers are flying everywhere.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Over the Owls because they're the OUs forty two to three.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Fun fact about this one, The Pride of Oklahoma the
band did not go to Philadelphia, so what did Oklahoma do?
They hired Temple's art rival, Saint John's University. That's Petty
the band to play Oklahoma the Suitors fight song all day.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
So that was kind of pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I love the Petty out of that.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Ole miss defeats Arkansas forty one to thirty five.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Alabama continues its winning ways after that out of the
gate against Florida State. They defeat Wisconsin thirty eight to fourteen,
again the SEC capturing a big ten win.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
You know, I realized, huh, a game that we never
we haven't mentioned in the first thirty minutes, but might
have been, like the biggest game to talk about at
Lisa start the day was Georgia Tech taking down Clemson.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Oh, we're gonna get to it in your third segment.
Trust me, I've got a lot to get to On debo.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Auburn defeats South Alabama thirty one to fifteen, Missouri fifty
two to ten over Louisiana the Rageing Cagings and Mississippi
State three and oh They gotta be happy down there,
you know, sixty three to nothing against the Alcorn State
and then Kentucky getting back on the winning track against
Eastern Michigan forty eight to twenty three. But coming up,
(11:57):
we're gonna have some sounds of Saturday as well as
arch Manning overrated and in Dabbo, why don't you believe
in this transfer portal? That's all next on the Fanatics
on ticket seven sixty
