Speaker 1 (00:04):
Last segment, and I got to take change. Everybody's picking Philly,
and the reason why they're picking Philly is because everybody's healthy.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I think they're picking Philly just because I think they're
more impressed with how Philly was able to hold onto
their win rather than how ken City lost, because the
way can City lost, you know, And I talked about
it last week. It looked slow, yeah, and pH and
Philly didn't look impressive, but it felt like they did
enough on the ground to win that game.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
So it'll be interesting. And a couple of news and
notes for this show. The last week of September, we
will be off these twenty eighth. There will be no
show for the fanatics on the twenty eighth. I am
actually getting out of town for the weekend. I'm actually
going to take a weekend get away and escape for
a little bit. I like to do that every now
and then, So there will be no show. That You've

(00:48):
got a birthday party that you will be attending.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
So you know, I never take off work. I don't.
I don't have the ability to do that. Bro That
weekend is my daughter's second birthday.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
There you go, so we will actually be off no
show there a couple news and notes around, like I say,
I continue to have an open mic, open for our mayor. Obviously,
we saw some headlines this week ten thousand dollars a
month being used of taxpayer, taxpayer dollars, even though she
tries to say that that's been done before. You know, again,

(01:17):
my open invitation for her, because there are a lot
of people that do need to educate themselves on this
whole spurs arena. I don't think they are. They're starting
to spit out facts that aren't facts, if that makes
sense anything. Yeah, Like I say, do your research, right,
We all have to do our research in order to
have a mic in front of us, you know. And

(01:40):
so that kind of takes me into a kind of
thing that happened over the weekend. As we all heard,
Charlie Kirk was assassinated. One of these guys that had
a podcast, one of these guys that would go to
college campuses and speak his belief in his side, you know,
which you're allowed to do. It's called freedom of speech.

(02:00):
It's what we do here on this show. And it
made me think, it made me take two steps back.
It made me think, are we safe anymore? With an opinion,
and we should be, and I think that we will
continue to be. It was devastating news to see that happen.
It doesn't matter what side you are, It was devastating
to see every one of us has the right to talk,

(02:23):
the right to walk in these streets and not be
judged for what we say. I'm a sports guy. If
you disagree with me, it kind of scares me. We
can do better in this country. We need to heal.
He was a father of two. I will leave it
at that, and then is the last time that I
bring it up on this show. May everyone have a

(02:44):
great weekend and a great week. We will see you
next week right here on The Fanatics on Ticket seven
to sixty. Hey everyone and Emory, host of the Fanatics
every Sunday, ten am to noon on sports Radio AM
seven sixty The Ticket. Thanks for listening to this podcast

(03:07):
version of the Fanatics. We'll see you next week right
here on sports Radio AM seven sixty The Ticket.
