Speaker 1 (00:04):
I'm your host, Dylan every along with Shane Carter.

Speaker 2 (00:07):

You can also check us out on the Facebook page
right now as we are streaming live on my Facebook
page in case you want to know, it's just Dylan.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I gotta be honest, it don't don't. I don't know
if I can afford another app though.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
But this one's free.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's free.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yes, it is free.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yep, yep, yep, yep. By the way, you know, fun fact.
Hate to put this out there, but you know, Vanessa,
we've got a Facebook discussion going on with a panel here,
but that has never seen top gun Shane really yeah,
never seen it.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
How do you feel about that?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
I can't do through a curve though? I mean, I
felt like everyone's at least does she at least know
what it's about. I mean, she's only seen the volleyball scene.
That's it, that's it. She had like looked up like,
you know, the plane scene like the other day.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I was like, mock one and she was like, what's
that mean. I'm like, oh my god, we're done.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's it.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
So she doesn't know. She doesn't know why Maverick's dangerous.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, yeah, she didn't know why Goose like. So that
is the discussion that's happening on Facebook. If you'd like
to chime in and tell Vanessa how she should watch
that movie. It's only a two hour movie. It's a
two hour movie.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
It's great.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Goose is I used to get called Goose all the
time because I look like Goose.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Oh. I thought's because you hang out with short people.
Say you were Goose by Shane.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
When do I not hang out with short people? I'm
six foot five.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
The only time I don't hang out with short people
is my good friend James, who's six foot five as well,
and so we're like identical, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
So there you go, you know. So, speaking of craziness.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I thought we hang out with James, your neck was
a lot better. Havn't have been down so much.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
It's funny because people in here on the show. Joseph
Jimenez is a friend of the show. He says that
Texas football doesn't look great. Shane, would you agree with
that comment one hundred percent? Or is there something that
just doesn't look right?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
The only thing that you can really hang your hat
off with that team is the defense. And I and
I made this comment yesterday. I can on Facebook or
Twitter that Texas to me has a college football playoff
defense and a Watchers Home on Bowl season offense. And
I don't know if it's I don't know if it's
all on Arch because I think Sark calling the plays
while also running the while also running the team doesn't help.

(02:16):
I think the offensive line is still young, but it
has talent, but the cohesion in there and they hadn't
really found their go to guy a receiver yet. I
know it's supposed to wing go I think he's supposed
to be the guy, right, but they don't have that
difference maker, at least not yet. And CJ. Baxter and
it sucks for him because he missed last year as
an injury. He's gonna be out again. Uh, They're just
they don't have a whole lot of talent from last

(02:38):
year's team to carry over to this year's team. That
gives you a lot of confidence because the expectations were astronomical.
So right now what Texas Texas fans are feeling is
sort of like sort of what they felt in twenty
ten after Cole McCoy left and they had to go
with with Garrett Gilbert, where they're starting to see like
a bit of a regression. I'm not saying that they're
not gonna win games. It's it's too early to call

(02:58):
all that. But if you base how Texas has played
the first couple of weeks, a LOSTO a house State,
a game you probably could have won, and you didn't
play well yesterday against UTEP like art, would you, as
a Texas fan confidently say we're gonna win the SEC,
We're gonna be competitive in the SEC? Can you can
you actually say that?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
No, realistically you can. And here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
These past two games for ut you know, Manning had
a good performance against who do they play the San
Jose San Jose, which you had a good performance there,
which you're supposed to against UTIP, You're supposed to have
identical performances. But to go eleven out of twenty five
and only have one hundred and fourteen yards in the
air and a touchdown against the miners, that's that's problem

(03:36):
some And if you're a Texas fan this morning, you're
you're asking yourself and I'm being real It's not just
because I bleed Crimson and Cream.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Well he does, I've seen it.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I do, actually.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
But the thing is is that if I'm a Texas
fan this morning, I'm not confident. Okay, I am not
confident that I'm going to enter into something. I've got
Sam Houston State next week. Arch Manning better have four
hundred yards in the air.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
I don't think it matters.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
No, it does matter if you're a Texas fan.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
It does matter college football. A quarterback takes you to
the promised Land. Let's be very clear on that.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
But even if he has a US, he has four
hundred yards, four touchdowns, right, four combines because he might run, I.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Think Texas fans breathe a little bit easier. But let's
say that he only has one hundred and seventy five
yards against Sam Houston State.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, what are you thinking? You can't say that.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Sark is this guy, because Sark is the guy that's
been calling plays at the University of Texas, right even
Spanning is this guy that right now, if you were
to ask me, all the student sections are gonna be
right when Texas loses and they chant like, oh, you
sectioned it against the Michigan quarterback.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Overrated, and that's what they're gonna chant.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
You saw earlier in the week when Sark was asked
about like arch Man in Grimaceon during those throws, like
something was obviously off with Art. You saw that, right, but.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
They yeah, they saw it. But he looked okay. Yesterday
he looked okay.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
But I mean, I do think that I think one
I think starts hiding something. I think he knows little
more than he realized, or maybe he's like starting to
realize that maybe him and Texas fans took Quinn Ewers
for granted and that maybe just maybe well they forced
Ers out. Oh yeah, he wasn't gonna come back, like
the fans. The fans were ready. The fans called for Manning.
They want a guy who could run because Quinn you weers.
You know, for all the accurate passes he may have had,

(05:21):
he didn't have much of a touch on the ball
and he couldn't run. Arch Mannon at the barely has
had that dimension to run the ball. But now he
didn't have the dimension to throw the ball. Yeah, as
a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yesterday, Manning in the post game says, I've got to
play better a lot of quarterbacks, a lot of players
want to be great. I know I'm better than this. Okay,
how are you going to accept this over and over again?
Because again, it's not to say that the SEC is
a conference that you can come into kind of limping

(05:50):
into this whole competition in the SEC, because first of all,
there's gonna be a target on your back. Yeah, every
team you play goes all right. First year in the SEC,
you went to the championship game. Last year, we're gonna
we're gonna have our best game against you. Oh you's
gonna be licking their chops October eleventh with Matier in
the back, with the way that they're executing and their

(06:11):
defense of oh you good god, are you kidding me?
And then next week, oh you's got Auburn coming. Oh
by the way, Jackson Arnold who used to play for OU,
who was overrated, comes in with these Auburn Tigers, which
will be a fun game in Norman.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
We'll see where OU stands.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
But you're gonna tell me as a Texas fan today,
you're gonna beat OU October eleventh with what you're putting
out on the field.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Please think again.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Ay, Dylan, huh I got a little something for you. Okay,
how about some sounds of Saturday. Okay, let's do that.
Let's just sounds a Saturday. Okay. So to start off with,
this clip actually goes back to Friday. But I'm gonna
remind you all of a guy by the name of
Nick Saban Dyan. I don't know if you're familiar with
this guy, but yeah, he was talking on a certain
show hosted by a certain former punter and this guy
and this former punter also is part of College College Game.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Also he's part of the McCaffrey show.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yeah that's what this is. Yeah, pretty much. But anyways,
he was talking about Derreck Henry, a form player of his,
and he blatantly lied about his recruitments. So take a
listen to this.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
You know the amazing thing about this And I don't
want to throw anybody under the bus here, so I
don't mention any names, but you can go back and
see who all was recruiting him. But nobody except us
said you can play running back. Why can't you believe that?
So they're talking about the guy being an outside back,
or they're talking about being this and that. I said,
because he's tall, he's long. He doesn't fit the real,

(07:35):
you know, sort of running back style that people look for.
I said, hell, this guy's heart attackle. He's fast, he's
got a great stiff arm. I said, why can't he
play running back? I don't care if he looks a
little different some of these other guys. So I said, look, man,
we're recruiting you as a running back. We do whatever
you want to do.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
You're a liar. He was the number one running back
recruits in his recruiting class back in twenty thirteen. In
front of me, I have his player profile. He's a
five star, ninety nine profile player out of the state
of Florida. He was the number one running back. He
was twelve nationally. He was being recruited by Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson,
Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, like thirty other schools, maybe

(08:14):
every other school as a running back. I don't want
to hear that lie. But to keep things in the
SEC dealing's favorite conference. You mentioned earlier about Florida losing
to LSU. The takeaway from that, and the keyword there
is takeaway was Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, who ended the
game with five interceptions, and as you'll hear from the

(08:35):
ESPN broadcast, you can you can hear the sigh from
the broadcast as the crowd overtakes it after DJ throws
number five.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Flagway running for his life. Oh my goodness, six pack
number five. That one was thrown up for drums as
much as it possibly could be, and DJ Peckett Gramden
and picked.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yeah it was. It was not a good game for him,
a guy who I even had expectations of not necessarily
being the best quarterback in the SEC, because I told
you he's got to watch out for. He did not
have a good game. He has not looked sharp. He
has he has looked He's looked flat against USF. He
wasn't effective at all in this game. He was just
throwing stuff away and one more, one more clift in
the SEC. Because I have a bunch of the SEC.

(09:21):
You mentioned, Vanderbilt taken down South Carolina in a big
upset and upset that people weren't really talking about as much,
which I feel like should be a bigger deal. But
while the attention might have been on Lenora's sellers, another quarterback,
Diego Pavia, had brought a friend on to the sidelines
have you heard of the comedian slash podcaster Theo Vaughn.
Oh yes, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
This is the one where he's gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Yeah, exactly. So, So for those that don't know, he
was on the sideline talking to Coole Kublick, who is
a both a broadcaster and sideline reporter for the SEC Network,
and he was talking with with him and this is
this is the bet they made had Vanderbilt won the game.
The way that I understand the story is that you
just give me a nod.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
If this is okay, diego Pavia wins this game.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
He promised you he would set you up with a
date with his mom. Yes, there we go. It's a
nurse and I've always wanted different holes. But my goal
is I would like to marry a nurse one day.
So that's why, thanks Mark, he was telling me about that.
I don't know public do it. I don't know that,
gess friend. I don't want to end up being like
his sets. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be. I want

(10:24):
to be my friend's stepdad either. But uh, real quick.
Last week we had an anomaly which called a thick six.
You know what thick six is. It's a defensive linean
who intercepts the ball and takes it back for a touchdown.
That was my guy scaler, Gil Howard from Texas Tech.
And it's really unlikely that you see it twice in
a row. Well it happened yes today again, this time
in Lincoln Riley's neck of the woods at SU. This
is during the USC broadcast. And this is and this

(10:46):
is a six seven, three hundred and sixty pound defensive
tackle that takes it back.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Brown heavy pressure hit as he throws a cook on
by Jamal Jared Beg.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
He's gonna take it all away for a touchdown USA three.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
A lot of the supersty pounds lumbering seventy.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yards for the touchdown, and he was visibly gassed. And uh,
I have one more, but I can say it for
the next out because it's gonna tie into another conversation
we'll have. But uh, those are your sounds of Saturday
and a lesson in making bets that you better fall
open him Vaughn.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Yeah he should. I mean he's gonna date a nurse.
I mean, we'll see where that goes.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
So coming up next, Victor win Binyama calling out the
Spurs fans to Come be part of a Spurs super
fan section

Speaker 1 (11:37):
That's all next on the Fanatics on ticket seven sixty
