Speaker 1 (00:00):
Or On for seventy seven yards two touchdowns himself. And
another fun stat in this one, forty two points scored
combined between both teams in just the second quarter, which
was a shootout in itself. That is the most ever
scored in a single quarter in postseason history.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I loved that one. Obviously.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yesterday we saw some more games, the Eagles taking down
the Rams. That was a snowy one in Philly, twenty
eight to twenty two. The score in that one, obviously,
that had Saquon Barkley taking the lion's share of everything
on the ground.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
But he showed up.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Two hundred and five yards in that one, two touchdowns
and that's all on twenty six carries. Jalen Hurts, you know,
they were protecting the ball, so it was a good
call on that one, keeping things on the ground. He
only threw twenty times, had fifteen completions and one hundred
and twenty eight yards. Now, this sets up championship weekend.
NFC Championship sees the Eagles hosting the Commanders at noon

(00:59):
Pacific time on Sunday. The Chiefs will hold host the
Bills at three thirty for the AFC title, and you
can hear all of that right here on your home
for the NFL Playoffs ninety three point three KRFM. We
got some hockey today. We had some hockey over the weekend.
Krack and took down the La Kings on Saturday night
at Climate Pledge Arena.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
That was four to the final score.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Obviously, Jaden Schwartz was a story of that game with
a hat trick. He had a phenomenal night that Captain
center Chandler Stevenson did add the fourth goal to the tally.
Joey Decord twenty eight saves on thirty shots attempted, allowing
just two goals. And again, as I mentioned, the Kraken,
can they get back at it today? They have a
matinee game on this holiday Monday. They host the Sabers

(01:42):
at one o'clock twelve three. Pre game with andrews Hurst
Mike Benton on the call for the game. So a
little bit of a switch up there. We got andrews
doing pre intermission and post. Mike Benton will be on
the mic for this one. You can hear it all
right here on your home for Kracking Hockey ninety three
point three KJRFM. And finally, finally, Chris kidd, the College
Football Championships.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Are you excited for it?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I kind of am, I really. I It was just
because one of the teams that I picked to win
is in it. So I'm kind of like, oh my gosh,
they can get it done.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
WHOA is this like a bracket that you were in
or Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
The Morning Show we do our green Jacket draft for
college football playoff and I have Ohio State winning it all.
And I also had I had them double down in
another green Jacket draft we did earlier on before the
playoffs started, But nonetheless, they have a shot to win it.
It should be a good game. I'm excited for it.

(02:37):
So let's just hope for a great game, kind of
like we had over the weekend through the NFL, a
bunch of really good games. They all pretty much came
down to the wire, except for Commanders and Detroit, in
which the Commanders were just surprising everybody and out there dominating.
But I'm excited for this game tonight. It should be
a good one.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, I think so too.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I mean, Ohio State opens up as an eight and
a half's favorite. Well, I mean, I don't know if
that's even the line that it opened up that's what
they are right now. Eight and a half points. That
is a two score game. Essentially, well it is a
two score game, and not essentially it actually is, but.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, that is that's a pretty large spread.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
But I think I had mentioned to you off the
air that there was this data that came from bet online,
dot org, dot com.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I should say, I doubt they're a charity.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Organization, and all but two states, and this is data
scraped from social media, so take it with a grain
of salt whatever you want to say. But all but
two states were measured in the country to be rooting
for Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And I didn't realize that.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
I thought Notre Dame had a little bit of the
bad guy to them as well, where if they were
facing a different team in the college football playoff, then
they would be the Ohio state in this situation. But
all but two states in the country are rooting for
Notre Dame, and those two states, as you guessed it,
Ohio and then West Virginia as well. That must be
like a brotherly love thing, like you know, a close

(03:58):
state and a proximity state. And yeah, I'm kind of
surprised by that. I want to know you guys Texas
in fourtnite four or five to one. The TELLM we'd
text line, I'm curious if you're rooting for Notre Dame
and why? And also is it because you like Notre
Dame or is it because you can't stand in Ohio
State anymore?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I would guess it's they cannot stand Ohio State. Yeah,
I guess the latter as well, buy right now?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, yeah, you know who he's rooting for. Yeah, I
definitely do, no surprise there. Yeah, and Softy is the opposite. Yeah, yeah,
because two hosts that.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Are yes exactly. He loved watching Ohio State dismantled Organs.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Oh yeah, I think he tweeted it multiple times throughout
the game.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Oh yeah, yeah, all those fans that just and.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
He's officially Irish for the day, Yes, yes, but yeah,
I wonder what drives people at this point when you
don't have a local skin in the game.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
And you want that's what you have, no routing rooting
in interest. Maybe maybe a couple of local guys that
played in Washington high school football and graduated and went
to play at one of these schools, But other than that,
you probably just want a really good game, unless maybe
we do have Ohio State fans here. I'm aware of that,
so I'm not gonna say they don't exist. But yeah,

(05:15):
I think for the most part, we just want a
really fun national championship game. That's what I want to
think we're going to get that.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
That is all I'm asking for, is just a really
competitive game.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I don't want to blow out, and I.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Wouldn't mind a blowout, you know, show some dominance, but
I do want a good game.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
I don't mind it, yeah, I I just I want
a good game. I don't want to blow two touchdowns. Yeah,
fourteen points is a blowout.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
That's my over.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Underfirst So the lines got blown out.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yes they did, and I will make no bones about it.
I'm pretty honest about this. I'm a huge Commander's fan.
I have a lot of friends that play with that
work for the organization, and obviously.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
The name all of them mine, Yes, Dan Quinn.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
I have known him since I was thirteen years old.
He coached with my father when I was growing up.
My best friend in the world is his chief of
staff and so her name is Sarah Hogan, and so
she's head into Philly this weekend, and then obviously we
have Bobby Wagner, who were very happy about and then
Frankie luvu our Kug who second team All Pro this year.

(06:18):
And I didn't know that until like four days ago.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Speaking of Frankie, Yeah, I'm sure you're on Twitter yesterday
during the game, Yes, I was. What did you make
of his or was it Saturday? I'm jumping out, excuse me, yeah,
Saturday's game. What did you make of Frankie's block on
Jared Goff that had everyone calling him the dirtiest, if
not second dirtiest player in the league.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Rolled my eyes, I rolled my eyes.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I just I mean, everybody's people are going to say
that it's a bang bang play. I've talked to several
NFL players when it comes to that. I mean I
have NFL friends who defended Vontes perfect. Okay, that hit
on Antonio Brown, right, he.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Was, Yeah, he's he's just violent.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
He had a resume of violence that I think contributed
to people finding that dirtier than it might have been.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
I still think that was a dirty hit.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
On Ab.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yes, I mean we're talking years and years ago, but
that was probably the most egregious.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Hit I ever saw that was like that Frankie is.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Not a dirty player, and you know, call a penalty fine,
you know, penalties happened.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I just did not see that as a dirty play.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
I watched it over and over again, and we're talking
about I think it was the interception in which Frankie
is running down the sideline and he blocks Jared Goff,
who is trying to make a play on the football.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
But he's a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Well then don't I guess I could say, do not
throw a pick? How about I just yeah, I mean
that's part of it that I thought he was. I
thought it was a clean block. He just got him
a little high. You know, I'm glad Jared was able
to finish the game. It's not as if they knocked
Oh yeah, you don't want to hurt. Yeah, But I
thought it was a fine block. Did he go a
little high? Sure, but where else he supposed to hit him?

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I just didn't.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I didn't see an issue with it.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
See it either, And I mean Moore was crazy.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
I couldn't believe. I was like, dang, frank Ye act
like they I'm thinking he did something egregious and I
watched it. I'm thinking that's what everyone's upset about and
maybe a lot of those fans were Detroit Lions fans. Yeah,
and they could be feeling well, I don't know, I
didn't go through profiles. I'm like, oh, you're a Detroit
Lions fan.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I'm sure they were the loudest, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Probably, But I kept watching it over and over again,
thinking is this dirty? And then I texted a friend
that's close to the league. I said, do you think
it was dirty? And he was like nah, But they're also.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Well, everyone's also watching one game at a time this
weekend too, so there was no distraction, so you have
more people's opinions, more adding in exactly. And also, I
mean it reminds me and I'm not comparing the players
in any way, shape or form, but Cam Chanceller he
got flagged so many times where they have to rescind it.
You know, obviously the penalty took place in the game

(08:51):
and he got flagged for it, but they rescinded the
fines because they're like, oh, that was actually clean. It
was just a really good block.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
So basically he said, apparently quarterbacks are defenseless on interceptions,
which is crazy, and I agree with that. So it
was certain an illegal hit. By rule. I don't know
about dirty though. Golf was just being soft.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
A legal hit is fine.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Like I said, I'm not gonna argue, ay, And also
I agree with you. I give him a lot of
credit for what he did this season because I kind
of thought he was on the back nine.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Of real his career. I didn't I didn't see him being.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Success this successful, just I just having watched him in
college too, I didn't see what everyone was raving about. Yeah,
and I mean I was. I think he did great.
I think he did.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Well four nine, four or five. One was that if
you guys were watching, I guess I shouldn't say if
you guys were watching. A lot of you probably were
watching games over the weekend. The hit on Jared Golf?
Did you was that dirty? Was it just a bang
bang play? Quarterback trying to make a play on the
football and he met a linebacker running full speed, So
that's what happens. I didn't think it was. I thought

(10:00):
it was just a It looked like it hurt, but
it's just one of those situations where it's football. I
wonder if they asked Dan Campbell about that play after
the game.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah, we'll have to see we'll have to see.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I mean, the biggest quote that I saw from Dan
Campbell after the game was the fact that he believes
that the Lion's Super Bowl window is still open. And
I'm curious about that too, because they just I feel bad.
The Lions franchise is just takes some hard knocks. They
take some seriously hard done.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
You know what I will say, despite their past, the
president is looking really good and I know they lost
another gut riching game where coming in they were the
heavy favorite. What Dan Campbell has done with the staff,
the players, that has to be given flowers. I know
they haven't won the Big Game, haven't won an NFC

(10:50):
title to get to the Big Game per se, but
what he's done, we have to give him his flowers,
whether they ever are anything else for the next ten years.
Like we have to realize what Dan was done when
he got hired. You know, his whole press conference, bite,
knee caps, you know, all that good stuff. They one
laughed at him and he has been laughing his way
to strong regular season wins. Unfortunately, he caught what the

(11:11):
forty nine ers have had for their entire reign. After
the Seahawks pretty much handled everything in the NFC West,
which is injuries. He has had to deal with that
this season and they still were able to capture number
one seed. So sure, it's a huge disappointment, but if
they're healthy, we might not be having this conversation about
dang the Lions. They that's unfortunate. We'll see what's next year.

(11:31):
But that's football, right. You can't guarantee health for every
single player on that roster the next man up, and
they did a really good job of that. I just
think they faced again faced a team that was better
on Sunday and Jared Goffden have his best game. So
with all that being said, I do want to give
credit to the Detroit Lions, and I know it's a
tough pill to swallow for those fans that thought this
was the year they're gonna win it all because of

(11:53):
their regular season performance and even as I mentioned the injuries,
they didn't miss a beat. They had to play against
the Vikings and they handled business to capture that number
one seed. To get a little risk so they can
get guys that are like what's his name, backup running
back David Montgomery a chance to come back in a
game where they could use him and need him, so
I will give them credit. It does suck, but I
just want to give them their flowers. And Dan Campbell

(12:14):
in that organization because they have been poop pooh for
so long, but Dan Campbell came in and changed things
for sure.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah, I'm a big Dan Campbell fan.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I mean, I.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Beg of you.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
You know, if you're not, tell me why, because there
is there is no one that I would root harder
for as long as he's not playing a team that
I root for.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I mean, yeah, I'll be honest.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
I like Dan Campbell again, Justinman McIntyre, Chris Kid in
for Greg Bell today, who is skiing the slopes. It's
a perfect bluebird day out there for that too. So
if you guys are off today, hopefully you got us
in your ears, you know, while you're taking some time
on this Martin Luther King day, and take a moment
to appreciate what doctor King did today as well. This

(12:58):
isn't just the day off. I mean it's clearly not
one for us anyway.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
But yeah, I hope you're listening.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, no, I'm sure he's not. I'm sure he's not.
It's all fine, it's all fine, but yeah, you got
me thinking too. I do believe that the Lions super
Bowl window is open. However, when you're talking about Flowers,
I think everyone who made it to this point, you
make it to the divisional round in the playoffs, like,
there's only two teams that are going to the super Bowl,
there's only four teams that are going to the championship rounds.

(13:24):
So if you made it to this point in the season,
you know, you deserve all the accolades that you can get.
You deserve a ton of credit. But the Lions, this
is where I always, you know, talk about getting hot
at the right time. The commanders clearly did it.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
It's funny you mentioned that. I forgot who I asked
that question. I think it was Jory Epstein, who we
have on every Tuesday. I mentioned, are the Lions okay? Yeah?
There were smoking teams by forty points. They beat the
Jags like fifty two to thirteen, like they were rolling.
And I asked Joy, I said, are they too hot
too soon? Like do you want to be doing this
right now? And I think it was maybe early November

(14:02):
and she was like, no, I think this is good.
Not that they had a cooling off point, but as
you can see, they just didn't have it. Whether it
be the injuries, you name it, they just didn't have
it against the team that the Commanders that were hot
coming off the press. They have been building up to
this point and now they have a chance to make
another upset and beat the Eagles in Philly. So this
is that was just fascinating that. Okay, did the Lions

(14:25):
did they hit the gas too early? It's kind of
like when you were running track. For those that did
run track, oh yeah, you wanted to peak your performers.
You want to peak like right into March and April
because that's when the championships were. You didn't want to
peak earlier in the season. You didn't want to be
running your fastest times. You wanted to build up to that.
And by the time you got to the playoffs, Okay,
Chris is at his best, like he has a chance

(14:45):
to go to State, and that's what you want. That's
why I thought the lines were maybe okay, there might
be a little too aggressive right now and then it
kind of maybe just tailed off.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well, they were so successful too, and I mean this
is just my theory too, that when you're you don't
need to make any changes.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
You don't need to make any adjustments.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Now.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
The Commanders had had a couple of tough losses throughout
the season, and you know, close games, could have won,
should have won in that situation, and they had to adjust.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
They had to learn.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
You have a rookie quarterback in Jade Daniels who was
learning throughout the season, and well, you're building and building
and learning lessons and adjusting throughout the entire season, you're
going to be able to do.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
It in the postseason as well.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Crazy.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of craziness. I really like
this field of four though. I mean, the Chiefs whatever,
we expected them to be here. It's just we're going
to get into that a little later because we want
to know if you guys have Chiefs fatigue.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Are you tired exactly? I'm exhausted you are? You reminds
me of the Warriors. I'm like, yo, case, someone beat
these dudes. I know they just got KDI, but Mike,
can someone do anything?

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
No, I mean, and that's fair, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
I like the Warriors because well, obviously Clay was my
He's not there anymore.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I got this light skinned baby face assassin who just
teasing you making threes, laughing in your face, counting how
many's made in a role you can't stop it. I'm
over here like, oh, I want to just knock my
TV over And then you look at the Chiefs. Oh,
Mahomes does it again. Oh, Travis kelce he's not good anymore.
Just he just looks like he's the number one target,
number one receiver in the league and he's playing tight end.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
He lit it up.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
He is the receiver end.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
What they do, they warm up when they need to,
which is during this time. He doesn't care about the
regular I mean he does care. They want to win,
but he's not He's not worried about his stats during
the regular season. It's now that matters. Well, yeah, the
third and nine, Where am I going to go? Oh
Travis Kelcey, a guy that didn't do much in the
regular season, but when it matters most. DeAndre Hopkins, I'm

(16:46):
sure he's on the roster. But we got Travis kelce Man,
Xavier Worthy. We can use him in a crunch and
maybe now and then. But you know who we got
Travis Kelcey and him and Patrick they just have a
connection that I don't know if you can have, if
you had the greatest, if you have a Rise and Wilders,
they're just connected in ways that I can't explain. Yeah,
and they do it. You're in and you're out, and
it's about to piss me.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
All right, Well, send us a text at four nine,
four or five to one. How do you feel about
the Chiefs. We're gonna get into Also, yeah, how do
you feel about the college football playoff? Tonight? We're gonna
get to as many of those as possible at about
eleven thirty. Also on the iHeartRadio app. This is I
really like it because I like hearing people's voices besides
my own on the air.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
So you know, if you want to.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Get in a little bit more of a taste of
texture to this show, go to the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Record a thirty second talk back.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Just hit that little microphone record thirty seconds.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Any topic, it's topic, did your here today?

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I mean, whether it be the college football playoff, whether
it be the NFL Championship weekend that, by the way,
you can hear on Sunday right here, one game after another,
starting at noon with the Commanders at the Eagles right
here on ninety three point three KJRF, So set that
dial please, folks. Anyway, we're gonna get a little bit

(18:05):
deeper into this, into this football weekend coming up here,
four teams left. I have two questions, who do you
want to win? And who do you think will win?
Because those are two very different things. Chris Kidd and
I will give you our opinions and then we'll take
some of yours as well. We'll be right back. Jesse

(18:25):
M McIntyre in for Greg Bell alongside Chris Kidd. Ninety
three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Now back to Greg Bell and Christopher Kidd on your
home for the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl fifty nine.
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFL shuts down.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Welcome back in Sports Radio KJR.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Jessemin McIntyre filling in for Greg Bell today, who is
getting some well deserved ski time in on the slopes
alongside Chris.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Chris how goes.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
It goes really well? Yeah, We've got a lot of
texts coming in.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Sounds funny, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, we do a lot of questions out there too.
It's a potpourri of a day, but let's just focus
on football games. College Football Championship taking place this afternoon.
Four thirty is when the broadcast begins. I believe they'll
probably kick off closer to five, but.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Time is done. Why don't they just do all this
stuff prior and then actually start the game on time.
I just don't know.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Money commercials, whoever's broadcasting it. Obviously ESPN is today, whoever
broadcasts it makes a lot more money.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
And that is it because, as it is.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
With so many things these days, shocking, but continue all
about the money. So yeah, this is a big one.
This is the granddaddy of them all. As we are
getting tonight Notre Dame in Ohio State facing off in
Atlanta for the championships. We did ask you just because
there was a lopsided a study that showed that the

(20:05):
majority of the country is rooting for Notre Dame or
against Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Pick your poison on that.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
One, because there are you know, Notre Dame has always
been a team that back when you couldn't access all
the teams across America, you know, they were a team
that you could you could actually watch them, and you
know they got the fighting Irish, their tradition, their a legacy.
So I get it why people would gravitate towards them.
It also seems like Ohio state with a huge, huge

(20:35):
wallet for the nil If I might add, it's become
the bugaboo for people I actually live with. I am
married to someone who grew up in Ryan Day's hometown
where he went to the same high school as him.
Ryan Day is a little bit older, but yeah, so
he is all O high a state because of Ryan Day.
But I think that's a that's a very small example.

(20:58):
But anyway, we you know, text in text, and we'll
get to those at eleven thirty. The other question had
to do with this weekend or coming up. The Championship
ships games AFC NFC starts with NFC commanders at Eagles
and then Bills at Chiefs immediately following that, so we
will see I know who I'm rooting for. I don't

(21:19):
know if that's who's going to win, Chris, do you.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
I don't know. I want the Bills to win because
I'm tired of Mahomes and company winning. And if they win,
they probably went yet another Super Bowl. What would be
breaking history here three straight championships.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yeah, gosh, yeah, you know what, I'm a little sick
of them.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Too great for the city great for them, but my goodness,
no one can beat them.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Huh No, But you got to give a lot of
credit obviously to Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I mean just a duel. They are their team. Well,
I get to see history in my day and age.
I didn't think this would be like this. I didn't
think Patrick Mahomes would come along and I get to
see greatness like this boy, he's doing it and he
has a chance to make history. Yeah, if he wins
three in a row, how close are he to Tom Brady?
I know Tom Brady has seven.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
But he's the new you know, he's kind of Brady.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
He did something that no one's ever done.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yes, yeah he did.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Part of me wants to see it just because that
would be crazy with then another part and he's like, noah, bro,
we can't do this again. Three in a row in
the NFL. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
History is always fun to watch in the NFL. I
like it regardless of who it is. I mean, I
grew up a Jets fan, so so Tom Brady I
hate respected him, you know, I obviously hat hated watching
him dismantle my team every single year.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
But I have to respect it. If he wins again.
That make him a four time Super Bowl champ with
three in a row. Yeah, and he probably would get
a fourth MVP.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
And he's only twenty nine. Yeah, only twenty nine years old.
It's absolutely I wonder if Travis Kelsey would get that
one this time around.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Because no, why not if he's if he If they
beat the Bills, I don't even like saying that they
beat the Bills, and let's say they face off against
the Eagles. Hopefully the Eagles can win because they lost
to them before. Already they had it, they had remember it,
don't fumble the football, mister hurts. Nonetheless, yeah, hand it

(23:23):
to I don't. I just don't know what else they
can do. I mean, my goodness, this guy is about
to He could potentially win a third straight Super Bowl
and have four total. Four he's going to.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Get before the age of thirty.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
When's his birthday September? Oh my gosh, wow.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, yeah, he's an official twenty nine. He is not
like approaching thirty anytime this season.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
So just walk away from the game, pull of Barry Sanders,
be the greatest at your position, and just you know what,
I've actually won a bunch. I'm actually okay with that.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
I mean, if he's tracking like Tom Brady, he's got
more ten years.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Oh that, you know, I would be really annoyed by that,
because he's probably gonna win three or four more.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Maybe I'd like to see him eclipse Tom Brady. Now,
you know, for my hate respect.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
That would be disgusting for someone to do something more
than Brady. I just I can't fathom that.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
There's always an next goat though, you know, that's just is,
that's just how it goes.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
There is, but i'd be able to see it.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Unless the game, like the unless the game dramatically changes
as a whole. You know, we have the modern era
of college football or I'm sorry of the NFL football
and changed it.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
So who's gonna be the next guy? I guess it
is exactly.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
I mean, someone milling around in junior high right now.
Who knows?

Speaker 3 (24:29):
That is insane? I know, dude, it is just unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
It does get annoying when the same people keep getting
you know, winning and winning and winning. Except the thing is,
the NFL is the most has the most parody of
any professional sports.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Oh yeah, well that's because it's so hard.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
It's not like well, in the salary cap.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
You know, it's not like all this. It's not like the
NBA where you can just get two dudes and like, oh,
we're set right exactly.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
It's a field of twenty two.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
You have twenty two, you have a lot like everyone, Like,
doing your job in the NFL is huge. You could
say that NBA, but you got to do our job.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
You know, you got such and such on your team,
and then.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Well, there's only five guys on the court, right, it's.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Not and they both they play both sides of the ball.
Patrick Mahomes ain't playing defense right, Travis Kelsey's not playing
linebacker right, Isaiah Pachaill is not playing safety well.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
And also, even though there is a salary cap in
the NBA, the people don't care.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
They're like, i'll pay the luxury tax. You're allowed to.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Go figure it out. In the NFL, it's it's more
of a challenge. So for them to do it is
it's annoying. I'm tired of it. I'm fatigued. But at
the same time, it's rono applause to you guys. I
don't know how you do it, but my well, this
is sickening.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
As we will witnessed with our own franchise here in Seattle, and.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Then that like what and now look at him he
has Oh my.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Well, yeah, Andy Reid clearly has an eye for talent.
But you know, I was relating it to the Seahawks,
where we see them sacrifice in certain positions when it
comes to the salaries and where they're going to invest
just to be able to maintain some key components of
their team. I don't know how Andy Reid and the
entire front office is able to do that. I'm sure

(26:08):
Andy Reid isn't in the salary cap discussions. I'm not
sure who their salary cap guy is. But for them
to be able to and Brett Veach I should give
obviously a lot of credit to him as well, the
GM for the for the Chiefs, the eye for talent
I think comes from Reid, the working around the way

(26:30):
to slot these salaries in. But also I think once
you're this successful as a team as the Chiefs have been,
you are allowing you are making it a destination where
maybe this player that you're coveting, let's say free agency
or whatever, or one of your guys is going into
free agency, they're more likely to stay because of the
winningness of the organization, because that pays off in droves.

(26:54):
At this point, if you're that successful of a player,
you're not hurting for a salary right now, right You'd
rather win because that has been the goal since the
moment you took the field as a child or picked
up a football for the first time. You want to
win and you're going to get paid regardless. So I
don't see a ton or I do see the Chiefs
as a destination for a shifts.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Screw it, We'll see what happens. I kind of want
to see great news, but at the same time, I'm
jumping back into the corner, like, screw these dudes anymore.
So it's okay.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
So it's a fun for you.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
It's a fun discussion.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Half it's a win win for you.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Win.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
If they win, we really don't want to see it.
But at the same time, it's history. I hope I'm
making sense. I don't want to be talking all crazy,
but that's how I'm feeling and watching this.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
No, I understand. I think everybody out there does too.
But that's why I'm calling it a win win because
if they lose, okay, yeah, you know what Josh Allen
go handle business.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Well, I'm rooting for Buffalo simply because I grew up
in a three A three NFL team state, even though
two of them play in New Jersey and the Bills
are the only one that actually played in New York.
And also, I mean, come on, they lost floor in
a row back in the day when I was a kid.
You know, poor Jim Kelly.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
They haven't done anything when they've got him and Lamar.
Josh Hal and Lamar have been in positions to win
and they just couldn't get over the hunt Lamar now
not Lamar. Josh Allen alice best of Lamar, and he
has a chance to beat my homes but that won't
be an easy task. No, But that just shows you
just how challenging it is. Like everyone talks about having
an elite quarterback. Okay, Threo's elite quarterbacks that are getting bounced,

(28:31):
you know it just it has to happen that way,
especially in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
I can't say that anyone who was playing in the
divisional round has a mediocre quarterback regards.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
It'd be tough to say I'm up here. Yeah, but
this season, Lamar's elite Josh Allen's elite. Unfortunately, one of
those dudes is going home. And despite Lamar's turnovers on Sunday,
he put them in position to win the football game,
and things just didn't go their way. And that's just
how football works sometimes, exactly. It sucks. I hope his

(29:01):
legacy doesn't take a big hit. I mean, we'll get
more into that with Ross Tucker. But you know, it
sucks for Lamar, But you know you're having for Josh
because he's been struggling in this playoff contention as well.
Just to win a super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
All right, you heard it here, Jesseman McIntyre in for
Greg Bell, Chris Kidd alongside me on this beautiful Monday
out might be a little bit crispy up, but that
sun a shine and the sky is blue, and I'm
taking that as a win on this MLK Day. Now,
we didn't even get to the NFC game. I like
that we both had such a wrong opinions about the
AFC game. By the way, I'm rooting for the Bills.
I don't even know if I.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Got that in, but uh, I you know, the New
York thing aside.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I actually it's not because of the Chiefs fatigue though,
it's because I actually want the Bills to win. I'm
not rooting against the Chiefs. I'm rooting for the Bills.
We'll get into the NFC Championship game next again. Jessamin McIntyre,
Chris Kidd right here in ninety three point three kr FM.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Great thanks man. First was this ball is life man?
Tonight we talked about Ben heavy hitters, Mike and for Dan,
sure heavy hitters.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
Now from the first day, we got to get wall
anybody anywhere, Love you guys.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Let's find out where it is tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (30:26):
That's our show back on the road.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
There you go. The victorious head coach of the Commander's
Dan Quinn.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
You know him well from his time out here in Seattle.
Blenny ended up in Atlanta, led that team to a
Super Bowl that.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Went in an unfortunate way while he was there.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
That's right, Yeah, yep, good for Dan.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I'm so happy for him.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
And you know, I actually heard him on the PFT
podcast recently and he was talking about.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Why he went to the Commanders again.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Jessamin McIntyre in for Greg Bell and Chris Kid alongside me.
So he was very happy being the defensive coordinator for
the Cowboys, and he said as much on this podcast.
He was happy with what he was doing and he'd
only leave if it was a perfect fit. And I
think that this pairing of him at the Commanders is
not only the perfect fit for him, but it was

(31:24):
the perfect fit for the team as well.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
To have a coach like him come in.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
He brings an experienced, yet fresh perspective and obviously we
know what he's capable of where he's been in the
league for such a long time. Except this franchise underwent
a complete upheaval. They've changed owners, they needed a quarterback.
They won four games last year. I mean, this was
supposed to be a building year. You know that they

(31:48):
were in a full on rebuild. And DQ comes in
there and says, no, I don't think so. I think
this is a winner, and I just absolutely love it. Again,
we're talking about we got into the AFC game last
week between the Chiefs and the Bills as we're looking
ahead to Sunday's game. That one is at three point
thirty right here on ninety three point three KJRFM. It

(32:10):
is led by the Eagles and Eagles hosting the Commanders,
and that one's at noon.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
So again you can hear that all here. You're home
for the NFL playoffs.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
So Kit and I are both rooting for the Bills
for a couple different reasons. So in the NFC Championship Game,
Eagles hosts the Commanders. Who are you rooting for and
who do you think will win?

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Man, this is a tough one, two really good teams.
The X factors going for me is Saquon because he
has been money in the postseason and I think that
might be the reason why they go to the super
Bowl is because of their run game. They when they
get rolling, they're tough to stop. And then Saquon his magic.
He just makes people miss and he has the breakaway speed.

(32:56):
I don't know if the Commanders have the guys that
can do that, but they got to do that. That
those football and that's Bobby Wagner. So if he gets
those guys ready to play, I think we're gonnat another
classic showdown, But I think the Eagles might be able
to pull it out. I want the Commanders to win
just because it's a young team. Dan Quinn has another
chance to go to the Super Bowl and make up

(33:16):
for what happened with Atlanta. And not that he's thinking
about that. This is a whole new opportunity, so he
just wants a chance to win. So I'm right now,
I'm going early. I know it's freaking Monday and they
have a week to play, but early prediction of right now,
I think the Eagles will get it done. But I
got to ask you this, Jess, who was more surprising
in the NFC for you this season? Was it the
Rams after their one and four start five games in

(33:38):
the season, or is it the been the Commanders that
have surprised everyone up to this point?

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Well, I think so if you're talking about in season,
the Rams, especially because we pay such close attention to
them here.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
And surprised me even Yeah, that Eagles game because they
were a fourth and fourth down away from extending the drive.
I think it was a touchdown. And we're talking about
a team that everyone thought would be last in the
division and they captured the division, took it to the
brink against the Philadelphia team that has hit their stribe
when they need to shout out to them getting Saquon.

(34:11):
I don't know what the Giants were thinking, but hey.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
But they don't.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
I would argue the Rams are the most surprising team
out of between themselves obviously, and the Eagles are not
the Eagles. Excuse me, the Commanders just because the Commanders man,
they just they're doing something I don't know if anyone saw.
But they didn't also start off terrible.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
So in season I would say the Rams, yes, they
surprised me the most, and I just refused to get
on their bandwagon. I was like, no, they're just not
that good, Like the beginning of the season tarnished what
I thought of them. But then I would say the
Commanders in the postseason have surprised me the most. I'm
surprised that they made it to the postseason. To be honest,
I thought they were going to be a little seahawksish,

(34:53):
but they'd have a winning record. You know, this is
after watching them through like ten games. I thought they'd
have a winning record, would miss the postseason, but a
great building block, right, that's a great place to start
under this new regime. And then so making the postseason
and doing what they've done in the postseason surprised me
more than the Rams coming back from a one and
four start, if that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
And also their D line, I don't know, what less
Sneaed is doing over there. But if he can sprinkle
some of that magic to John Schneider because they lose
arguably the greatest player ever and Aaron Donald and they're like,
you know what, We'll draft some guys and then in
the playoff, I think they had sixteen sacks in those
two games, so it's like these dudes, man, they get

(35:35):
out of the quarterback. It's unfortunate that the Rams did lose,
but they had a chance and that was going to
be a storybook. Just wow, the Rams are in the
NFC Championship taking on the Commanders. Just what That would
have been crazy, but shouts to the Eagles were closing
it down and handling business at home. That was huge.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
Yeah. I think the fact that the Commanders are playing
with basically what I Cannsider house money. I've said that
a couple different times. But they they have nothing to lose.
I think that if they would have lost to the
Lions on Saturday, that they would have considered that a very,
very successful season. They far exceeded everyone's expectations. They have

(36:18):
a rookie quarterback setting records making history already. I think,
I mean, obviously everyone wants to win. They want to continue,
but this would have been a successful season, and so
I think that benefits them. I said that before this
the divisional playoff weekend, I said that I think that
that kind of attitude benefits them. They're loose, they got
hot at the right time, and I actually think they're

(36:40):
going to win, and I'm rooting for them to win.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
I really do.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
After watching Philly struggle against the Rams, I really do
think that the Commanders are going to come out.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
With this one.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
That would be cool.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
It really would. And they've been playing on the road
this whole time. You want to talk about Philly's environment, Yeah,
there's wackadoo's out there. They're absolutely not, so they have
to grease them. What you call wackado's. That was the
kind term that I'm not allowed to say. What I
actually call them.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
The dumb buttons available.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Yeah, no, let's like not utilize that today. It's on
my list of things not to do. And that's kind
of at the top. Is not making you dump anything anyway.
I just I've been to Philadelphia. I got a battery
thrown at my head there it was a nine bolt.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
I mean, tell me that there's a game that I
never should go to to go see any team that's Philly.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Don't go there as an opposing fan. That's my I mean,
you saw that crazy fans.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
I don't. I mean, I might have some weird colors on,
but hopefully those colors aren't matching with the players are
wearing on the field or the court.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
So you know what's actually really funny.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
The time that I went, I went with my father
and two guys that used to play for him that
were in the CFL at the time, and we go
to this game because Dan Quinn was the defensive line
coach for the forty nine ers and they were visiting.
So we were wearing red in a sea of green,
and we were not treated with hospitality, you know what.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
We weren't the ones being violent.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Luckily, I was surrounded by my father, the football coach,
and two of his former players, so that kind of
helped me. But it didn't stop me from getting hit
in the head with a nine bolt battery, which is fine,
you know what. I kind of respect it.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
I'm like, okay, like I got it. You're Philly, that's
who you are.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
I think they're the most rabid fan base I've ever
met in my life, but I don't think that's going
to have a big impact on the field.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
It'll have an impact and it stands anyway. Okay, we
got to get to Ross Talker, Ross Talker of the
Ross Talker Podcast. He's on Westwood One.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
He'll be calling the Philadelphia Commander's game this weekend alongside
Kevin Harlan. Again. You can hear that one at noon
right here on ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Ross Tucker joins us next.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
He's going to take a deep dive into all the
games that we saw and the game's yet ahead. Jess
Ban McIntyre in for Greg Bell. Chris Kid with me
ninety three point three KJRFM.
