Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hi, Welcome back The Greg Bust Show with Christopher kitt
rolls on here from Detroit Christmas Beacher Studio at Elliott
Bay in Seattle. I'm stilling Detroit for a few more
hours anyway before flying home. The Seahawks got home at
four point thirty last night. Now they're already prepping for
the Giants coming in here to Loomenfield on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
It's a Cracking Ticket Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
When you hear the cracking sound each hour today on
our station, be call ten to two oh six two
eight six ninety five ninety five to win a pair
of tickets to see the crack and play the Colorado
Adalande October twenty second. Not entered in a drawing, just
be caller ten and you get two Ducats. Craig Bocott
just did that the last hour, and he was our
first winner of the day on this show.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
And there'll be another winner here this hour.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
We're gonna talk to Joey Epstein of Yahoo Sports, senior
writer for the NFL UP. Next after headlines brought to
you by Frost Food, Corsley Choose Chill. We're also gonna
talk a little bit more about that two point play
which should have happened the officials. I agree with you
that I thought it was a two point version catch.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Just inside the sideline. We'll talking about that.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Hell Ons brought you by Frost Food Corzlichio's Jill. Seahawks
got a career passing night from Gino Smith, thirty eight completions,
fifty six throws, three hundred and ninety five yards, three
rushing touchdowns from Kenneth Walker, who's return from missing two
games with injury.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
He said after the game to me.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
That he felt quote great physically, yet Smith and Walker
couldn't play defense too. Five starters missing before the game,
A six went out with Julian loves sigh injury in
the first half, and the Lions offense just pummeled him
eighteen for eighteen passing by Jared Goff, three rushing touchdowns
by their two running backs, Jamior Gibbs and David Montgomery.
(01:46):
And that's how you gained five hundred and sixteen yards
on offense, yet still lose forty two to twenty nine.
The Seahawks denied their third ever four and oh start
to a season. They're three to one, still in first
place by a game over San Francisco, The Giants come
in here one in three on Sunday, and then four
days later the Seahawks and forty nine Ers play a
Thursday night game at loumen Field. Julian loved the only
(02:07):
noticeable injury. I thought I saw Jonathan Hankins get banged up.
Ask him after the game out he felt the noose
tackles that he.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Was fine when they always say they're fine.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
The other Monday night game last night, previous win list
Titans smashed the Dolphins in Miami in the Battle Backup
Quarterbacks thirty one to twelve. Gonzaga is joining the PAC
twelve in the twenty twenty six biggest get yet for
Washington State and Oregon State remaking the conference. The Zags
will be in the remade league and everything but football course,
because they don't have football in Gonzaga now. The new
(02:36):
PAC twelve is at eight members. That's the number they
needed to get to to be viable for the NCAA
to recognize the champions for college Football's playoffs for the
NCAA basketball tournaments.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
To Boo, two big cash cows that keep the league's
bible and.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
It makes the league more attractive during basketball season to
television networks to have Gonzaga for sure. Now WSU and
Oregon State get the twenty million dollars the old PAC
twelve schools left behind for them if they could form
a new league within two years, and they've now done that.
The Mets and the Braves split a doubleheader on the
last games of Major League Baseball's regular season yesterday to
(03:09):
each earned playoff spots, and they eliminated the Arizona Dimingbacks
from the playoffs and doing so and so the playoffs
beginning at about a half hour here in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
They're all fired about the Tigers.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
They're at Houston in a Wildcard series, Kansas City at
Baltimore later today. The Mets are at Milwaukee later today
than tonight. Atlanta's at San Diego. Those are all game ones,
the best of three wild Cards series. And again the
best pitching staff in baseball, the World Series caliber pitching
staff at the Seattle maris good to watch it all
in TV or from the beaches.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Are now on not even the playoffs again. Crack and
lost a.
Speaker 1 (03:46):

Speaker 2 (04:41):
With Jackson Felts.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
The Sounders have already clinched the playoffs spot in the
MLS Western Conference. Yet again, and yet again, as he
is every Tuesday at eleven am, Jerry Epstein of Yahoo Sports,
senior NFL writer joins us from the East Coast. I'm
still here and during now that I'm on the East
Coast and still in defred, I forgot about how late
(05:03):
Monday night games are to East Coaster.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yeah, Greg, I'm so glad. I'm so glad you said that.
Great to be on with you, guys, because I covered
Monday night football and Philly a couple of weeks ago,
three days later Thursday Night Jets and then a following
week Thursday Night Cowboys at Giant, And you just get
to the point where I went to that after four
am every time. We're someone who asked if I want
to do an eight am radio hit on Friday, and
I'm like, I'll have been a sleep for roughly three
(05:29):
and a half hours. So maybe you're rat to text
this one.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
And you're twenty some years younger than I am, and
I mean, I feel these things. It's gonna be days
before I recover from this. I got out of stadium,
you know how it is got out of state of
two thirty last night.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Woo. I'm sorry. Gray on the.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Rent tend to say that, like those night games on
the East Coast, pretty much jet lag us because you
just completely shift your schedule by like four hours and
then you go back and the brain's like, what are
we doing here?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Joy? Tell us about b Baker Mayfield? Is this for real?
Are the Buccaneers going to run away with the weak
NFC style?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
There?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Is Baker Mayfield going to be an All Pro Pro
Bowl candidate the way he's playing right now.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
I mean, he actually technically played in the Pro Bowl
last year, but I think so. I mean, what is
impressive about Baker Mayfield is it is so rare that
we see a player like him start out, you know,
as terrible, starts his career, but somewhere it's around average
or just inconsistent, then kind of bounce around, go from
Cleveland to Carolina to Los Angeles and in Tampa and
(06:31):
then has the success he's having now, and he's having
it with two different offensive coordinators because he could say, well,
maybe Dave Canalis is just a genius and that's why
he was hired away by Carolina. But he's been a
different coordinator now a different system. I mean, you look
at the way that the Buccaneers played Eagles last year
this year and it's not the same game plans, and
Baker is succeeding in all those. So I'm working on
a story and I think the two things that stood
(06:53):
out to me is one, the bus have worked with
him a lot on his mechanics, in his footwork, and
you have someone who is his He's not one of
the teller players in the NFL. And he also doesn't
have like the insane athleticism of a Kyler Murray. Your
decision making is so important and the way that you're
getting in rhythm and timing your throws with your feet
is really important. And so he's continued to do that.
And I also think there's just been on and off
(07:16):
field naturation process and hey, maybe I don't need to
throw a downfield all the time, or hey, if someone's
playing shyll he's got the two high stafeties, it's okay.
If we take those underneath passes, It's okay if we
manufacture the run game by short passes or even behind
the line of scrimmage. And so I think he's playing
in the way that you need to play to win
right now. And he's not going to be Patrick Mahomes,
but he is playing at a very good starter level.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Speaking of quarterbacks, where do you who had who impressed
you most last night? Was it Jared Montana going one
hundred percent from eighteen for eighteen with just a three
hundred yards or was it Geno Smith who threw for
three ninety five and a tug?
Speaker 3 (07:56):
You know it's funny, so Jared, God, Yeah, she didn't
miss the past. He didn't realized that. After the game.
I'm watching the postgame interview on the field and they
tell him you in eighteen and eighteen and he's like,
did I? I was trying to remember if I had
an incomplete pack and then I believe that came out
today or maybe it was last night, but Dan Campbell
didn't realize that either engave the game balls with somebody else.
And I think that's kind of like one of those
(08:17):
things where when we at home or even in the
press box are watching these stats, we don't think about it.
But I think it's hard to compare Geno and Jared
because I don't think they were playing the exact same game.
Both of them played at such a high level, and
if anything, when you compare this quarterback play in that
game to what was going on at the same time
on Monday Night Football with the Miami backup from the
TENNESSEEE backup, I mean I think that, Like Troy Yateman
(08:38):
was on the broadcast for that Detroit Seattle game and
he just loved watching the quarterback play. And I understand why.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
You're not wrong because there was a toilet bowl over
there and was it in Miami too?
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, yeah, that was rough.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Do you know Smith nationally, Jory, I mean, we in
Seattle have seen this. This isn't the first time he
played that well, especially in the He's don it three
years in a row. Is the national narrative and perception
of him finally changing after twelve years in the league.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah, I think it's funny. I know you guys are like, hey,
where do you think he ranks in the quarterbacks? And
it's funny because first I was looking at different stats,
which also like, okay, you're throwing an end up game
interception and it ruins your steps on a lot of
things when it's not really reflective of how you were playing.
But my run today I was like, Okay, I'm going
to go in my head division by division and be
like where do I think see no ranks? And I
(09:28):
would say, like, it depends are you saying who do
you want to build your franchise around for the next one, two,
three years versus how have people done the last four weeks?
But I would say Gino seems to be definitely top
fifteen and probably in that eight to twelve range just
where I would put him. I mean, like, he's not Lamar's,
He's not Patrick Mahomes, especially if Patrick Mahon, even as
Patrick Mahomes tries to figure out that offense. But I
(09:49):
think that you can consistently feel like he is going
to see the field well, if he is going to
get the ball downfield week after week. And I think
that again, that's a good Detroit defense that you were
going against us night if you're Gina Smith and he
played really well against it.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
He did. This is Drery Epstein.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
She joined us every Tuesday at eleven am thanks to
Zee's Pizza zeexpizza dot com. Jory the Jets nine points
against Denver and they got a quarterback beat him with
sixty passing yards. That's not why Aaron Rodgers is in
New York for that? What's up with the Jets and
Aaron Rodgers?
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah? I mean, and if you can't beat Denver at home,
I understand it was raining that you were still playing
a young Denver team at home, You're going to have
trouble against Brian Flores in Minnesota in London, which they've
got coming up early this Sunday morning. I think when
you look at it, Aaron Rodgers was brought in to
elevate in a way that they haven't. They've got a
lot of offensive lin kadence issues, some of which you
do put on Rogers because he tried to do so
(10:45):
much as a line of scrimmage that some of the
guys don't always know what's going on around him, and
that becomes a team issue and something that you can't
play football on your own. Even if you see the
field one way, if your receiver doesn't see it and
doesn't get the ball up, still an incompleation that's not worse.
And so I think that when you look at what
they were doing, what baffles me is why didn't they
run the balmore? We've seen Bruce Tall and Braylen Allen
(11:06):
be really effective, and a lot of that is because
of the threat that Aaron Rodgers poses and they just
barely ran it. And this isn't a Denver team that
no one has been able to run against. Like they
had fewer rushing yards than any of the teams that
Denver has played. And so I think to me, I
was really asked about the game script, especially on a
rainy game, when your passing game is not going to
get you there, you need to run the ball more.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
What did you make of the Ravens destroying the Buffalo Bills,
who at that time we're doing the exact thing to
other teams. Derek Henry goes off, Lamar Jackson looks fine,
What did you make of the Ravens and what did
they prove on Sunday Night football against the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
I think this is why I wasn't concerned about them
when they started to owing two. Yes, they had a
bad loss to the Raiders, a close loss in the
physical game, but when you look at their opening loss
to the Chiefs, they were toe to toe with the
Chiefs literally as we've talked about that to just barely
being out of the end zone. And so I think
that we saw them the one they were good, but
because the Chiefs figured out how to win in the
last second attachment honkings to all we do. We felt
(12:04):
like maybe they weren't at that level. And even they're
went against the Cowboys said, yes, they almost let them
come back, but like they very clearly got out to that.
So Suffalo is a very very good team. But I
think that the Ravens have been good for a while
and they didn't stop adding. I mean to have Derreck
Henry go with at the eighty seven yard touchdown, at
his age and his size, I mean, when you add
all of these pieces on both sides of the ball,
(12:26):
I think they're deep. I think that they they have
a very complete roster and just really solid coaching. So
I mean I would continue to expect them to be
in the AFT Championship.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Put your money down, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
You heard it here, first October first, putting the Ravens
in the title, okay against the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Would that be your early guest?
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Yeah, I mean, again, a lot can happen between now
and then, but that's what it seems like. Those two teams.
I guess you do have the Bills but again I
feel like, whoever the Bills where Raven tips the Chiefs beforehand,
the other one will go play.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
The chief.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You mentioned the Vikings playing the Jets over across the
pond this week, Joey Kevin O'Connell, and what he's doing,
I mean, he's making Sam Donald I at all pro
is this sustainable?
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Could you see the Vikings keeping this going?
Speaker 3 (13:14):
I definitely can. I think again, you have so much
talent on that roster, both guys defense and brand florist,
that seems to be confusing even some of the best
quarterbacks in the league. And what really stands out to
me about Sam Donald is that, as I'm reporting his
story on Baker Mayfield, if you look it back at
what Baker Mayfield had when he got to Cleveland on
the offenip side of the ball, he had a really
solid line. He had Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham junior. He
(13:37):
had a great running back. He had like a young
Sunday tight end in Djoku. And I think that that's
not what Sam Donald started his career with. And I
think the Jets very much did not give him the infrastructure.
And I think I mentioned it on the show last
week but like I've had general managers telling me that
if a quarterback was going to make it back, they
thought Sam Donald would be the one. And then you
look at Kevin O'Connell, who can have stess with pretty
(13:58):
much any quarterback, and he was playing without Jordan Askon
and TJ. Hockinson and still have to get TJ back.
So I don't think there's any reason to think that
this is a mirage. They have played really solid teams.
I mean the last three weeks, the nine years, the
Texans and the Packers, I mean, all of those are
playoffs contenders. This is not that they're getting the Dolphins
when two is out and the next guy like not
(14:18):
serviceable at quarterback. They're routinely winning games with a solid formula,
both in the talent and the ctematics.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Standpoint, Jalen Kurtz hurts in the Eagles joy are looking
up now at Jayden Daniels and the wild Commanders. Forty
two points the Commanders put on the Cardinals in the Desert,
when everyone's starting to think the Arizona had a defense.
The Eagles, should they be worried or is this early
in the season and there's a lot of time for
Sirianni and the Boys to rise up on Washington.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Look. On one hand, I do think that missing aj
Brown and DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson for that game
shouldn't be overlooked. You're already without Jason Kelsey because he
retired at center. And if you look at the Eagles
historical winning percentage during Lane Johnson's career when Lane was
available or it's not, it's insane. It's something like they
win the game's forty percent more often with Lane in
the game. So I do think that there's some of that.
(15:07):
But the problem is, like last year, this defense just
struggling with tackling and struggling with fundamentals. The offense has
these really high paid star players, but the same way
we always give Howie rosen In credit for building this
high end talent roster, if you pay that much and
really like rely on your top guys, the loss of
any one of them is more problematic. What I am
(15:28):
most concerned about with Philadelphia is that I was in
that locker room a few times towards the end of
last year, including when they lost to the forty nine
ers at home and then again when they lost to
the Buccaneers in the playoffs, the same team up eat
them this past week, and I just think that this
team really kind of I mean, you guys saw in
Seattle that was when they switched the defensive coordinator. What
was it on Monday Night football? I think last year
(15:49):
when the Eagles came, and it's like from there, it
was just announcement. And so I think while all of
their problems feel fixable in a vacuum, I think this
team already has a lot of people who have who
have watched problems spiral and sometimes you can get into
this groundhog day situation where oh no, this is happening again,
and then they don't rebound. So I'm less concerned that
they don't have the pieces and more concerned that the
(16:10):
vibes won't allow them to put the pieces together.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Looking around the league this past weekend, unless you were
at another wedding and maybe you were distracted, but looking around,
who did you see as the standout player to you
in Week four?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
I was not at a wedding.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I was.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
A social roster, social lineup. I don't know every.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I didn't kind of give the flowers to dere Swift
because this man had what was it ninety three yards
in a touchdown, rushing in another seventy two yards on
seven of seven catches, So something like one hundred and
fifty five yards from scrimmage and a score. And it's
not just that he was productive against the Rams team
that has been respectable. Absolutely, it was that only someone
gave Cable Williams some help like this man deserved that.
(16:59):
We talked in the offensive line from what they were
asking him to do. I think he through fifty two
times a week before with one or fifty two, and
so finally you have a guy who's like, hey, Caleb,
you don't have to do everything. And as we talked
about with Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, when they have
those pieces around them, the chances of them succeeding and
succeeding with the team that's drafted them rather than three
teams later are a lot higher.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
All right, where are you at this weekend? If you
close to home, you stay on the East Coast? What
games are you checking out?
Speaker 6 (17:28):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I will not be live at a game, I'll be
watching it from home, but we will have plenty of football,
starting bright and early with that London game, right England.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
I should say that's right, So you don't want to
come follow the Giants in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
That's a little far trip.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
I would assume it will not be happening this week,
but I'm very interested because I mean, I think the
key question I have for that is on the Giants side,
is is Molite Neighbors going to be back ten days
to recover from a concussion when he's already been back
in the building. I think the team's encouraging. Obviously, we'll
see how it goes trying to rush anyone back from
a concussion, but I think that the Giants have shown
(18:03):
reason to believe that there's a respectable chance that he
could play. I think again, being at that Surtursday night game,
he's incredible. I mean, just the way he was breaking
all the Cowboys DD's ankles. It's like, at first you
think it's a coverage bust, and then you realize it's
not a coverage bust. It's just that he'd put these
double moves on them. He's getting the space like they
were not able to keep up with him really no
(18:25):
matter what they did. And so again, I actually think
that if he hadn't gone out early with that concussion,
there's a good chance that Giants would have pulled that
out because he was clearly their best target in those
like high stake situations. So that will be something for us,
y'all know, a very injured Sea Hawks defense to have
to contend with that gino in that offense should be
able to play. Because I think the Giants are better
(18:46):
this year than they have been in a while, And
maybe I'm just giving them too much credit, by I
thought Daniel Jones, with like a decent offensive line and
a clear weapon looks a lot better than I've seen
him in years.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
You're right about the league neighbors and the key for
the Seahawks defense if they have to face him, and
the extra days four extra days the Giants have of
rest compared to the Seahawks for that game. Jory, as always,
thanks for joining us. Thanktay of Zeek's Pizza. We'll talk
to you next Tuesday, Greg, talk to you. Thank you,
Jory Epstein of The y'all Who's Sports senior NFL writer
(19:17):
thanks to Zeke's Pizza Zeekespizza dot com.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
She says he thanks.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
The Ravens are an aclision course with the Chiefs in
the AFC eventually the AFC title game, and in the
NFC she sees Sam Donald and the Vikings for real. Wow,
that would be crazy, man. That means the Lions are
gonna have to chasing the Vikings for all. Yeah, I
can see the Vikings going to five and oh in
London on Sunday. But yeah, they lose their starting quarterback.
Jam J McCarthy is supposed to be Minnesota's quarterback and
(19:43):
now Sam Donald has him at the cusp of five
and oh, I'm next.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Your text four nine four or five one on Tom
tax Line.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
We'll talk a little bit more about that two point
play and the officials apparently missing what seemed to be
a catch inside the sideline by DK Metcalf.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
What should have happened procedurally On the re review of.
Speaker 1 (20:00):

like I've been here two months already. This kid back
in the studio in Elliott Bay in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
One thing I want to correct what always said earlier.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
The Pac twelve has added officially this morning, Gonzaga as
a member of everything but football.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Of course, the Zagas don't have football, but they aren't
yet now to the.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Eighteen threshold in football that they'd have to be for
the College Football Playoff and the revenue to come with it,
so they'll still need to add them to their team.
But the thinking is there are a much more attractive
conference with Gonzaga and the money from football or basketball
to can flu into the league to attract somebody else
for football to be that age. I just wanted to
mention that, but Gonzaga into the PAC twelve as of
(21:03):
this morning, Washington State and Oregon State continuing to reform
the conference.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Do you know what that music means?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Trying to reback your text and to tole them, we'll
do text line four nine four five one. When it's
game time, It's pully time.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
From the two five to three are Buddy Keith, is
it possible to feel more confident about the Seahawks after
a loss?
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Well?
Speaker 4 (21:19):
I do and can't wait to take kids Benjamin to
the EQC and double it Hawks going eleven and six.
Baby Keith is all in. Can't be mad at that.
I understand the long season. We will see what happens.
Let's continue with some more Seahawks from the two five
to three, Go Hawks, get right game against the New
(21:41):
York Giants before the big Thursday night showdown, Go Army
beat Navy.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Here you go, two five three. I wanted to bring
this up.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Hey, Greg, what do you think about the Seahawks not
challenging the two point conversion play? What it was supposed
to happen last night is that's a scoring player that
counts as like a touchdown does. And from what my
understanding was in the press box was that they did
that quick review, that they don't go all the way
back to New York and go to the hood in
the booth and the sideline all that they just did
a quick review. It's the new expedited review process that
(22:14):
they've started in the NFL this year, and that that
review didn't warrant a closer look, and that they said, nope,
incomplete call in the field, won't get reversed, not enough
there to overturn it, so they played on. That was
my understanding in the press box last night, and that's
how it was supposed to work.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
That's how the league does it now.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
But it's not like the Seahawks should have challenged that,
to my understanding, because it's a scoring play. But there's
evidence there they would suggest that that was certainly close
to a catch with the toe, the back leg.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Toe that he came at catches Draggon inside the line.
Travis once in on another bed. But the sad part
is I agree with Travis.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
He said, kid, another five hundred of interested K nine
gets eleven hundred rushing yards in regular season, I'll pay
you five hundred. If not, you pay me five. And
I'm thinking I think he will if he stays healthy.
That's kind of the barring thing. Can Ken Walker play
fifteen games? So it'd be what the rest of the season. Now,
he's already missed two, so that's and he's showed off
(23:15):
in last weeks and Monday night he didn't get a hundred,
but my goodness, if the old line can be average, Yeah,
I think he can definitely get that.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Eighty last night, four touchdowns on the season, one hundred
and eighty three yards, So we'd have to get basically
a thousand yard nine hundred and twenty yards here in
the next fifteen weeks.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
I am confident with well they got I think he
could do that. If there's would I would agree. If
there is a betting line, I would put the money
that he does get eleven hundred.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
But health is his biggest thing.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
He's always banged up, and he misses games here there,
he's already missed two. Was not to say it doesn't
get hurt later on in the season, hopefully not. Let's see,
oh here we go. Oh yet we'll be kind of mented.
And this two five through all Power five conference and
football have to play a midt of eight conference games
to be eligible. So yeah, to Greg's point, they're gonna
have to obviously get another football another football program more
(24:10):
than anything because right now, yeah, Gonzaga is just hoops.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
So but the thinking and.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Gaza also has a good sucker program. The thing, the
thinking is that Gonzaga and the television money that will
come in from basketball will make them much more attractive
for maybe some of the schools that have declined them recently, UNLV,
for instance, to join the league.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Now that UNLV would be an intriguing one. They're down
the street, I guess you could say in Nevada. So
that's that's not too far. I think that would be
a good West Coast ish what do you think?
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, they got it. The hesitation has always been and
then the football program has been bad. They're having a
good football season right now, but it's been a wild one.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Man. They went to work on Fresno State, right they
have last week with a throwing backup quarterback after the starter.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Or quit and the UNLB put forty nine points on
Presno State.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
I'm talking to think maybe I can go play quarterback
down there with that offensive coordinator.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Sheeesh.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
There shouldn't be a shortage of nil money in Las Vegas. No, No,
there should not be because, as you mentioned, they surprise everyone. Hell,
I think Jackson he took Fresno State last week plus
the points, Yeah that was he was thirty.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, he was shocked. I will say that.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
But eh, I'm intrigued by UNLV, but also they haven't
been a good football program. So how good could they be?
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Maybe for a while. Okay, Greg, thanks for poop pulling
my point. No worries, Oh no, but the market, the
money potential. Yeah did you graphic fit? Yeah? Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Now it's eleven thirty five and now it's time to

Chris Kidd's chance, his chance to win you a thousand
dollars Right now?
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Where are you going with? I know where you Actually
I don't know, but I'm thinking I know where you're.
Where do you think I'm going? Greg? I'm just I'm
curious starting with the NFL.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Oh, yes, correct, the music was a dead giveaway, but
I'll go ahead and jump right to it. Give me
America's team traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Oh,
give me the Cowboys plus two and a half. I
know they're without Marco Parsons, I know they're without Lawrence.
I just believe in Deck which is probably crazy to say,
(26:59):
but I think he's a pretty strong quarterback. He has
the weapons. I think they go on the road and
win against the Steelers. So give me the Cowboys traveling
to Pittsburgh plus two and a half. In fact, the
four nine four or five one if you agree fiction
to four nine four or five one if you don't
(27:20):
think the Cowboys are going to handle.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Business on the text in right now, texting right Oh
thanks Greg, what are you texting it? Oh? Thanks? So
supportive Steelers gets by Steelers. Here's my way down at
the Colts.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Last week, and then Riley frantically almost yes they did
first game of the season.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Two and a half points.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Chris says, take the two and a half points and
the Cowboys at the Steelers. If you agree, text factor
four nine four or five one. If you don't agree
when you're from Pittsburgh or Western Pennsylvania, or just don't
like the Cowboys text fiction the four nine, four or
five to one, you have about eleven minutes right now.
Your next chance to win will be a two thirty
five with Ian for Net. Are you you're still olding
(28:00):
to remember when the Cowboys and Steelers.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
That was the thing in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I'll be honest, I wasn't watching football at that age.
My dad had me in the Cowboys helmet and all
that for Halloween because he's a big Cowboys fan. But
your boy, see, kid was just enjoying his youth. I
couldn't tell you much about it. I do remember EMITTT.
Smith being really good because my dad bought some VHS's
on that. I want to say, what the back to
back to back Super Bowl they won? So I have
(28:26):
that VHS Cassett. I would watch that a lot. So
that's about it, your boy. They appeared they won two backs. Okay, yeah,
so there you go. Wasn't big.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Yeah. The Steelers and.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
The Cowboys played two times in three Super Bowls back
in the late seventies, and then in the nineties they
played again in Tempe Arizona in the Super Bowl thirty.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
I believe it was when Neil o'donald just threw it to.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
The Cowboys directly to the Cowboys and that Super Bowl,
and there's a long history of rival It was the
white hat Cowboys against their rough and tumble, blue collar Steelers.
The old throwback NFL rivalry rekindled Sunday night. It does
the Sunday Night NFL game, the NBC game Dallas at Pittsburgh.
(29:15):
Chris Kid says, take the Cowboys plus the two and
a half points they're getting at the Steelers. If you
agree with them, text fact to four nine four to
five one in the next nine minutes. If you disagree
with them, text fiction to four nine four to five
one if you are correct in whatever you say, fact
or fiction. If you prove to be correct, you'll be
entered in a drawing on Monday to win one thousand
dollars from the Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital at
(29:37):
the Northwest. You can enter as many times as you want,
up to twenty times this week each show, each of
our four shows five days once each weekday. You can
end as many times you want, and whoever wins the
most by the end of this contest, which is the
middle of December, will win ten thousand dollars from the
Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest, Dallas
(30:00):
plus two and a half that Pittsburgh texts back to
fourtnite four or five one if you agree, text fiction
to fortnite four y five one if you disagree. By
the way, I'm undefeated when people go against me. So
when it's I would say under fifty percent.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
So i' what is it? Last week?
Speaker 4 (30:16):
I had forty percent, Baltimore winning minus two and a half,
had forty percent.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
What was that? Week three?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
I went with Carolina plus four and a half. That
was thirty six percent. And I want to say my
last one was Yeah, Cleveland plus three against Jacksonville thirty
five percent. So you know what, I'm pretty confident if
this hits around forties, I'm gonna be right. So Cowboys
plus two and a half at the Pittsburgh Steelers, go
ahead and text in fiction.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
I'm gonna be right. Appreciate you. I think your.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Reputation precedes you from last season. You're still well, Oh
my goodness, I'm fifty percent right now. I'm fifty percent.
That's that's not too bad. You're our show is in
second place, a game behind entering this week. Oh, Greg,
don't bring that up, man, we because I yeah, I
didn't help us.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Just put it that way. Army did, but I did not.
In the Mayor and Maple Valley. He make it into
the studio. Where is he today?
Speaker 4 (31:11):
No, he's he's good to go. He is ready to
rock and roll. He gave me the wink. He is
ready to get after it. I hear from me, but
I'll go on Chris's word that I in finess joins us.

Ian Furness is joining the show the Mayor. I want
to mention also, Ricardo Mahia was our latest winner of
the two tickets on Cracking Ticket Tuesday. Every reminded of
that now that we're talking to mister kracking. Ian Furness,
Hello sir.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
Hello sir, how are you?
Speaker 2 (31:54):
I'm tired?
Speaker 7 (31:55):
Yeah, I bet, I bet you know how it is.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Leave the stadium at two thirty yeah, Chuck called, Yeah,
why not, there you go, man, what'd you think of
the game last night? Courage?
Speaker 7 (32:08):
I encouraged.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
I don't know how you expect these guys to win
a game without that with all those guys missing on defense. Really,
I mean, if we're like, I know, it's next man
up league and all that, which is just dumb, like
come on, it just it's there's a reason. First of all,
these aren't college rosters. As you know, there's fifty three guys.
Your depth is zero in the NFL. Like there's a
(32:30):
drop off in the NFL. That's just the way it is.
There's a salary cap in the NFL. You can't stack
guys on your rosters. So you take out Williams, Mafe
Murphy and I know Chenna hadn't played yet, but I
mean that's a The fact that they even kept it
competitive is just a tribute to the offense, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
And then they lose Julian Love in the first half,
right right, yeah, yeah, the Lions exploited, especially on the
big catch all big times. Yeah, big Julian would have
been yeah, for sure, absolutely, I mean they get yeah,
so they you take a pro bowler out of the
back end.
Speaker 7 (33:02):
They did well. I thought they did well.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
I if I was a Seahawks fan sitting at home
watching that game, I'm mad they lost. I'm also encouraged
and saying, hey, you know what, three and one, you
probably would have taken that at the start of the season. Sure,
you know, and because we all thought Miami's gonna be better, right,
Like that was supposed to be a tough one.
Speaker 7 (33:18):
It wasn't.
Speaker 5 (33:20):
New England ended up being tougher than it should have been.
But they've you know, those first two games they you know,
I mean, think about what a disaster it looked like
the first half of the Denver game, right, and where
they are now, like that's you know, that offense against
Denver in the first thirty minutes was just abysmal. And
last last night they looked like an offense can win
a football game.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
For you. They should be four and one. They should
beat the Giants.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Oh yeah, that Thursday night game again in San Francisco,
So they should still be in first place going into
that game.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
So yeah, And there's something wrong with the forty nine ers,
Like there's something wrong with them, Like I I I
don't know what it is.
Speaker 7 (33:57):
You know, I've watched them play quite a bit the.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Well.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Obviously McCaffrey's huge, right, like that's a huge deal. Ayuk
is like invisible, like just a nothing burger right now.
You know, Jennings has arguably been their best receiver. Debo's
been banged up, finally came back to the lineup, and
the defense isn't what it used to be.
Speaker 7 (34:18):
So yeah, I don't know. I think that's a I
think that's a I think that's a get me game
on the on the on the tenth.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
If that's the case, three days and three games and
ten days, that's as hard. And I think that was
some of the reason why some of those I mean,
not that they would have played anyway, but they certainly
weren't going to push him out, knowing they had been
back to back to back here until.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
Well, maybe you go like, it's a fifty to fifty
game there at best, So make sure they're ready to
go for the Giants, ease them back in and then
and then away you go with what you McCall, then
they take your chances with the forty nine ers. I
would hope new host who's back for the forty nine ers.
I don't think they need him against this team coming up, right.
I mean, didn't they just bench Daniel Jones today?
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Yeah? Is that what they There was talk of that.
Speaker 7 (34:58):
I don't think they did. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah. What is the Cougan you think of the Gonzaga Bulldog?
Love it? Bags, I love it. I love it.
Speaker 7 (35:06):
Yeah.

for the new PAC twelve seventeen, twenty twenty six thirty six,

Fresno State were in the top fifty last year.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
It's good basketball conference. They need a football team.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
We all know that.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
But I'll take Gonzaga any day, and then you Gonzaga
for other sports. They eat Gonzaga for baseball, and they
need it for all the other periphery sports. I think
it's great. It's great for Wazoo. Great, so all the
rivalries in the non revenue sports. It's certainly basketball. It's fantastic.
Speaker 7 (35:39):

that's all rude for the Tigers.
