week when Willen got hurt, he actually got hurt twice
in the first half, and then he came back in.
It was both times the lower right leg when he
came back in, then he went out again in the
second half. They brought me Amia Pritchard in the rookie
fifth round pick from Auburn. That didn't go so well.
I mean, there was one play overthrown pass in the
ends on the pitcher. I had good coverage, but he

the assumption might be that they're going to put Pritchett
in there again tonight since Woolan can't play. I don't
think so. I mean, if you do that, you're basically

If that's what they do, I don't think they're going
to do that. What I think they're gonna do is
bring up Already Burns from the practice squad. What's the

starting secondary and go nickel. The other thing to consider
here is the Seahawks have been burned going nickel against

the run, and the forty nine ers are gonna go
run as soon as they see in nickel corner on
the field, and so they may go to three safeties
more tonight than they have in the past. With Kevon
Wallace twenty four in there, Julian Love is gonna play.
They forget the questionable. He's the thing, right Thie, Okay,
and he's gonna play, so Love and Rayshawn Jenkins with
(22:25):
Keevon Wallace as the third safety. I think that's what
they're gonna do to counter Kyle Shanahan running against Nickel.
But when they do go Nickel, I think it's gonna
be already burned if it is Pritchett. Oh, I'm telling you,
they are gonna throw the hell out of routes at
Pritchett's side and make him have to choose, and they'll
send Kittle and Samuel Kittle and Ayu k Ayuk and Samuel.

They'll have to compensate greatly for that. I don't think
that's what they're gonna do, though. The bigger question Chris
to me is stopping the run and if they want
to put extra defensive backs on the field and I
are going to run at him and we mem yeah,
Christian McCaffrey's not there, So what they're still going to
run the ball because of their superiority on the line
of scrimmage and the fact that the last three years
(23:10):
Seahawks have not stopped San Francisco running no matter who
the back has been. So the question then becomes how
much nickel can they afford to go? Will they go
three safety instead against the run? Remember against Detroit, every
time they went nickel early in the game, Detroit ran
the ball. It was almost like an audible at Donna scrimmage.
When they saw Witherspoon inside, they ran, and they completely
(23:32):
changed the complexion of the game. They ran Mike McDonald
out of nickel. At times you had to go back
and put Witherspoon back outside a corner and go into
base because they were running so much. And that's set
up the eighteen for eighteen passing night that Jared Goff had,
so it'd be a chess match tonight between Kyle Shanahan
and Mike McDonald. The most recent history we've seen of
(23:53):
Mike McDonald against Kyle Shanahan is in Seattle's favor. That
was last Christmas night. Baltimore went to Santa Cla. And
just killed them defensively with five turnovers forced four by
Brock Purdy on an eighteen for thirty two night. It
was one of the worst performances of Purdy's career, as
efficient as he has been and has taken care of
the ball as he has been, he threw four interceptions
(24:15):
that night. Thirty three to nineteen I think was the
final score, and that wasn't even that close. The Ravens
beat the forty nine ers on their home field last
year with Mike McDonald's defense. Now having said that, the
Seahawks don't have Baltimore Ravens personnel right now and they
are not at all close to being schematically what those
Ravens were. They don't even have all of the defense
(24:35):
in that they Mike McDonald wants to use. And I
think that they're going to be much better defensively schematically
with more in his arsenal to use the coach's arsenal
at the end of the season than they are now.
But they can't even get four linebackers on the field
at one time. They're starting four linebackers. So look for
Kyle Shanahan to run a lot tonight to force Mike
(24:56):
McDonald into the decision on his extra defensive backs in
the use of them, because Chris, that's the logical thing
to do when your linebackers are banged up is put
an extra defensive back on the field. Yeah, I'm got
to compensate somewhere right, right right, and I'm not sure
they can do that tonight. Boy Mafe and Derek Hall
are both expected to play, though they're questionable. Mike McDonald
said there's confident the Seahawks will have them tonight off
(25:17):
of injury. And then you have Jerome Baker in the
second game back from his hamstring at week side inside
linebacker next to Tyrell Dotson. Hugh mellan and I have
talked quite a bit about the run game and how
the inside linebackers have been at times exposed for strength
running right at him. Well, here comes Kyle you stick
in the forty nine ers running game right at him tonight.

the league. I think it was twenty fourth in the
league in yards after catch, which you don't think about
when you think you can. Samuel So his point is

not only is brock Purdy's numbers and winning and all
of that passer rating, He pushes the ball down the
field deep throws of fifteen plus yards as well as
anybody in the league. He has a better passer rating
through his first twenty five games than any quarterback in
NFL history, any better than Patrick Mahomes, better than Tom Brady.

Hugh ma Millan is absolutely sold on rock Purdy. He
thinks he to the key defensively for the Seahawks tonight
after slowing down the run game is to get pressure
on rock Purty so that he doesn't have time to
throw those deep passes fifteen plus yards down the field.
That's easier said than done against San Francisco's offensive line
and misdirections and motions that use before the snap, But

that's the golden knight for Seattle in the pass defense game.
With Riek Woola nut in there, can they get pressure
with Derek Hall, with boy Mafy, with some blitzeres, They'll
blitz Witherspoon too. Can they get to brock Purdy before
