at the sphere. I have Ihave not been Christopher Kidd, have you
been sorry? I was talking toour winner. Amy's got it, Amy

putting her on the line. Amy, congratulations, were welcome. We're gonna

is brought to you by the EmeraldQueen Casino, the betting capital of the

(01:51):
Northwest. Come down to watch thebeautiful EQUC Sportsbook to bet, watch and
win on all games. Chris,I want to get into this a little
bit here and again four nine, four or five one. Friends, We're
gonna get to your text messages comingup next hour via the tollmre dude text
line. And the Mariners have theoff date here for to day. Woo.
They gotta win though Mariners have theday off. But is the pressure

(02:14):
of this season already getting to someof us is June twenty seventh, and
the Mariners are what right now fourand a half up in the Al West.
I mean, I'm with the inferness. He said this yesterday on these
air waves. I tend to hatethe words it's early. It is,
but we now know by now theMariners are built to hang in there.

(02:36):
They will contend in a week division. I don't think being ten games up
told us they're gonna run away withthis thing. It's now down to four
and a half. But it's aheck of a lot better than what a
couple of years ago, Christopher, when we talked about why does this team
start so darn slow June twenty sevento years ago, you know where they

(03:00):
were thirty four and forty one aftergetting shellacked by Baltimore nine to two.
Much better now forty six and thirtyseven, far better. Pitching staff is
great. Yeah, offense has beenslow off season, but there's something called
the trade deadline. Yeah, theycan definitely make a move and we can

(03:21):
be talking about a team ten pluswins leading the division. So with that,
I don't want to be that guyand say, hey, folks,
relax, but you have to admitthey're in a much better spot than many
of us envisioned about four months ago. The rotation is the best in baseball.
They're tight knit, Josh Rojas overall, solid, solid defense at third
base. They're twenty seven and twelveat home and this season are a poster

(03:46):
team of home field at vantage. That's a sample of why they're good.
Of course, you know here comesthe bad part. Why are they bad?
I think many of you see this. I'm talking about a road trip.
Do you want to start with strike? Oh? Way? Oh,
I'll get there and I'll get there. Cleveland ended with a gong, Miami
loud gong, through Tampa Bay,another gong and a game yesterday. Yeah

(04:11):
they won, but if you hadyour bacon and eggs yesterday morning at first
pitch time, it felt like upchucking it by the ninth inning. Don't
blame you, but they won yetfor their division lead. We all know
they have their flaws and you probablyanswer this question a thousand times. Is
this sustainable to be a postseason baseballteam? When you got to take out

(04:32):
Andre's munjos in the ninth inning andhave someone else to close the game,
it's a concern. And Trent Thorntonfind job, by the way, fine
job putting the fire out and hepitched his guts out in that role.
I thought, But when you gotto catch your hitting barely above two hundred,
who came in clutch? But howlong until you can count on that

(04:53):
to straighten out here for the longhaul, Chris, that's a concern.
When you got a bullpen and that'stattered. I'll start with Matt Brash that's
banged up. A closer had tobe yanked. That's a concern. When
Brian Wuland's on the il for whatthe fifth time this season, it feels
like that's a concern. When theystrike out at you mentioned it, Chris,

(05:15):
more than any other team in baseball, that's a fact, and that's
a concern. So coming home tomorrow, three games against the Twins, then
three against the Orioles, the Orioles, three against the Blue Jays. That's
the only one series I think whereit should be a layup. I don't
want to jinx this and yeah, four nine, four or five one,

(05:36):
go ahead and tell me. ButI know you're thinking the Astros being hot,
friends, the Rangers will be inthe Rangers if you're the Mariners,
you're here in footsteps? Maybe howloud are those footsteps? Four nine,
four or five one? What's thelevel of concern? Four and a half
up despite being ten up earlier? How much more do you expect the Mariners

(05:58):
to do with fixing this oster forthe long haul? Four nine, four,
five one? And didn't Ian calla softy sergeant doom the other day?
You say, then will be thefirst team in the wild card ear
and a blow a ten game leadand miss the postseason? Sergeant doom?
What's Faine's name for you, Fane? But it's the I guess opposite of

(06:19):
doom is something positive I don't remember. But nonetheless, at this point,
they're back home, they're still leadingthe Ale Division. They have an opportunity
to build upon this lead. Yeah. The scary thing is they're playing against
better teams. Yeah, and weknow their record against better teams. It's

(06:40):
not that good. And on thehome stand, the Twins are good.
The Orioles are a wagon, sothey're coming. But this is a good
opportunity to see where they're at.Yeah, this is gonna be a good
test for them. I think forme, ultimately, it's can you be
at least six games up by Septembertwentieth if they split both these series,
well, you guess you can't because I think the I think, don't
they have a three games I guessI can look it up real quick before

(07:00):
I just start throwing stuff out there. But if they can get two wins
split a series, I'm okay withthat. Yeah, especially gaint winning teams.
So I think, can you beat least six games up by September
twentieth because right there, at thatpoint, you'll be on the road where
they've struggled at Texas for three andat Houston for three. We got to
take a break here very quick, ause Gary Hill Junior is waiting around the

(07:23):
corner. I love to know aboutthe Mariners and who scares us more with
their lead down to four and ahalf. And we'll get to more of
that. Gary Hill, Junior,Mariners Broadcaster. Next on ninety three to
three KJRFM, live from the Rand R Foundation Specialists Broadcast Studio. Now
back to the Great Bell Show withChristopher Kidd on Your Home for the Huskies

(07:43):
and the Kreken Sports Radio ninety threepoint three kjr FM. They figured that
Great got to go out and takea walk in the rain here for today
and take the day off. Justspread his arms wide open, get a
few drops right into the mound, just to enjoy the PNW. So I'm
fitting. I'm filming in for him, Mike Benton, Christopher Kidd right behind

(08:07):
the glass as well as usual offday here for the Mariners. Four and
a half up, four and ahalf up, and it is almost into
July, where we're talking about buyernot seller. You know what, I
love buying though from our last showthat we had the conversation, and I
give credit here to my pal andersfirst as well likeliest to dunk a basketball

(08:31):
and the Mariners the first guy whocame to my head besides Julio, which
you can you give him for athleticismand give him his numbers. And Chris,
you know you had to chat aboutthis earlier as well. I would.
I think Logan Gilbert clears the reasonthose conversations even brought up, because
Anderson and I had an argument abouthow many mannered players could dunk. I
was a little where can I findthis podcast? No public demands it?

(08:56):
Which Mariners dunk into basketball? Hey? Friends, you tell me four nine
four or five one. I knowa guy who may have an answer to
this right here. That's Gary Hill, Junior, Mariner's broadcaster, joining us
right now on the Beacon Plumbing hotLine. Without further ado. Mariner's salvaging
a win against Tampa Bay yesterday thathad an adventurous ninth inning, the road
trip bending at three and six,and now the nine game homestand waits right

(09:20):
around the corner. But Gary,as he joins us right now, the
public demands answers Mariner likeliest to dunkof basketball? Who you got? Ooh,
I like this question. I'm gonnago Luke Rayley, I love that
too. Or yeah he's super athletic. Yeah I bet. I bet he's
throwing down a reverse dunk too.I bet he can do some who reverse

(09:41):
dunk? So to take to takethis further, Gary, of the entire
team, what percentage would you saycould dunk of basketball? O? Man?
Because I was in a deeper contextnow, I said, I said
around seventy and Anderson was like noway in Hill, and I'm like,

(10:01):
really, I think they're all athleticin their own ways. But go ahead,
Gary, I'm definitely not going seventypercent Okay, there's too many pictures.
See, I think I think Gilbertcan do it, definitely. George
Kirby clears, I think Sasato cando it. Based on height, I
think you're right, they do havethe picture. Stuff is full. I
swear everyone is six or four.Yeah, really helped. That's great.

(10:28):
Gary Hill Junior joining us right nowon the Beacon Plumbing hot Line Mariners broadcaster.
Gary, give it to me beforethis year, how surprised would you
have been with forty six and thirtyseven and four and a half up in
the Al West at this point ofthe season. Well, I think you
would have taken it if you wouldhave laid that out as we sit here
on June twenty seventh, and youwould have taken that in a heartbeat.

(10:50):
It's been a wild way to gethere, and when you had a ten
game lead, I know it doesn'tfeel the same as if you just kind
of zip by the Astros or whatever, but yeah, I would have taken
that in a heartbeat as we beardown in the All Star break. So
it's been a wild ride and everythinghas not gone perfectly obviously with the offense.
Now it's performed and the back endof the bullpen with all the injuries,

(11:13):
but I also think on the flipside, that should give Marin de
Fence a lot of hope. Likethey are where they are with all of
this not gone to plan, andI still feel like they haven't played their
best baseball of the season yet.Like clearly the offense has not performed well
for the most part this season.I think the offense can get better.

(11:35):
I think the back end of thebullpen can stabilize as well, so I
think they can play better on theroad too. I think there's a lot
of things can get better, whichis great considering where they are. So
we'll see how it plays out.I'm right there with you. How are
you feeling confidence wise in this nexthome stand? They got the Twins,
they got the Orioles, they gotthe Blue Jays, Padres, and then

(11:56):
they get to face the Angels onthe road obviously, but how are you
viewing this Homestand I guess the partieson the road too, so excuse me,
so I guess it's Oreos, BlueJays and Twins. How are you
feeling going into this homestander? Theycan I don't know, two out of
three for all these series, Yeah, tend to your point too, is
fifteen of the next twenty one areat home, and after the Ulstar break,

(12:18):
one of those series includes the Astros, which is looking bigger and bigger.
And as we know, the Marinershave played great at home. They're
pitching has been historic. They're holdingopponents to the lowest banning average in history.
And I'm not taking marriage's history.I'm talking about the last one hundred
years of baseball history. And samething with on base percentage. They're carrying

(12:41):
their lowest teamy alay they've ever hadat home by a lot. I mean,
it's absurd what they're doing at home. So I think you feel great
when the Mariners are at home. And it's not going to be easy because
Baltimore is really good, although they'vestruggled the past week or so, and
Minnesota is not a great matchup forthe Amriners with all the lefties. But

(13:01):
I think you feel better about thatmatchup in T Mobile Park in Toronto's a
team that truly struggled so that they'retalented. So it's not going to be
an easy home stand by any means, but Americas have proven it. Their
last two home stands have won sixof seven, which is pretty ridiculous.
I think that'd be a high ask, but yeah, I think you'd love
to take every series in this homestand. And I don't think that's too

(13:24):
big of an ask considering how they'veplayed at home, and they've done two
things really well this year that hasput them in the position that they're in,
and that's they've dominated at home andthey've dominated their division. And I
know they're not facing the division headto head here, but they are where
they are because of those two things. Well, they are a poster team

(13:45):
right now for home field advantage, and you have to again ask how much
can that help you outcome the postseason? Because pitching and defense wins over and
over and over, and they've gotthe pitching thing down pat right now,
Scary Hill Junior joining US Gary. The numbers with pitching are vastly different,
however, home versus road, andI'll just kind of use Bryce Miller as
one example, but I think overall, why are we here as far as

(14:07):
a vast difference of home and road, That is a great question. I've
been thinking a lot about this, especially on this last trip, and some
of it is just hard to figureout and I think I think it may
be a combination of factors, althoughI'm not one hundred percent because you pointed
out like their era at home isessentially two and a half and their era

(14:28):
on the road is essentially four anda half. That's a big difference for
a talented rotation and talented pitching staffin general. And then I don't know,
you dig even further than that. There's a couple of things that I
just have a tough time figuring outexactly what's going on. Like at home,
they have the best strikeout rate inbaseball, but it's quite a bit

(14:52):
lower on the road. They havethe best walk rate at home, and
they don't have the best walk righton the road. It's more midpacks.
So there's things like that, Orit's like, why is the strikeout rate
so different between home and road? And one of the biggest reasons is home
runs. They're giving up more homeruns on the road than their home.
Now you piece all of those thingstogether, and Scott Servis mentioned this when

(15:16):
we asked him about it. Hefeels like they're not getting into consistently great
counts that they are at home.He feels like they're always ahead at home,
essentially, and you look at thenumbers, and not just the Mariners,
but throughout baseball. When you're inan oh one count or you're in
a two count or a one totwo count, the pitchers ahead the picture

(15:37):
dominates. The numbers bear it outlike hitting is brutally hard, as we
know in general, but when youfall down and counts it gets nearly impossible.
And he feels like the Mariners athome are just consistently getting into better
counts. So I think the parkis at play a little bit, not
all of it. I think probablythe counts are part of it, and

(15:58):
some of it may just be dumbluck along the way too, and matchups
and things like that, and maybewe'll see even out a little bit more.
I mean, in fact, Iwould expect it to even out a
little bit more because the Gulf isso wide in so many spots. So
I know that's not a great answer, but I think it's a nuanced and
complicated question that doesn't have a simplesolution to it. Speaking of simple solutions,

(16:22):
they are trying to figure things outwith Brian wu and it's unfortunate that
he's down again. He's going tobe on the injured list. Are they
doing the right thing with that, because obviously he could be rusty when he
returns, all these things that comeinto play of not playing baseball for so
long and him being a pitcher atthat. How concerned are you about him
moving forward with two different injuries, one being the hamstring and then obviously the

(16:44):
arm injury that plagued him a fewweeks ago. Yeah, well, I'm
boy, I'm not glad probably isn'tthe right word, but relieved that it
wasn't an arm injury this time around. And you know, you never want
to see a picture get injured, but you know, Hamp's during is kind
of straightforward and what you're dealing with. So what I am not concerned about,

(17:06):
because we've seen it is when BrianWu when he came back after being
hurt, he was great, likelegit great, untouchable. So I'm pretty
confident that when he does come back, when his hamstring's better, when he
comes back, that he'll be reallygood again. He's got the disappearing fastball
that no one can see and noone can touch, and that thing just

(17:27):
plays. And so when he comesback, I think he'll be really good.
And I think the Mariners are uniquelyequipped to try and deal with a
Wu situation because they they're stable inthe four other spots in the rotation have
guys that are really good. Theyconsistently give you any and consistently take the

(17:47):
ball. So if you have onespot where you're trying to help Wou get
through the season or deal with somearm injuries or fatigue or whatever is going
on, that I think they're ableto do that because of what's around him.
And I think it's worth it becausewhen Wu is on the mound,
he's great, So whatever they haveto do to keep him healthy, and

(18:10):
if that skip is starting out again, if it's il now and again,
which has happened with Wu, youknow, that's that's part of it so
far with Brian Wou. But Ithink it's worth it when you look at
what he's done. You know, eight starts this year as era is under
two, and he's given the Marriagsa good chance to win every time out.
So it's not the ideal situation obviously, but I think it's worth the

(18:30):
pain to get him on the mound. It really shows that you've got an
advantage when you're not talking about maybehow much can you fill your rotation towards
trade deadline time. But maybe theconversation begins, well who starts game one?
Who starts game two? Because we'retalking about a historically good rotation at
this point, and George Kirby's apart of that. Gary, I mean,

(18:51):
I read that he changed the gripand his curveball and got immediate results.
I mean at this point. Imean, he's tried a knuckleball last
year. I mean, how lifeye are we to see him maybe try
a screwball soon? I mean,it is ridiculous. No one does that.
This is not a thing that pitchersdo. Pitchers don't go to the
mound and change a grip right beforethe game and just see what happens.

(19:12):
But he has the ability to doit. It's unbelievable. And it's the
thing that we heard about him fromday one that when he got here and
you talked to everyone behind the scenes, and he just has this ability and
feel for pitching and feel for hisstuff to just change on the fly add

(19:33):
pitches in season, like adding apitch in season is difficult enough to do.
We're spoiled because we have seen Marinersdo it the last couple of years.
But that's really hard to make happen. He's doing it during games and
before games. This is not athing. This is not a thing.

(19:55):
Guys, do scientist does it.It's just incredible. Yeah, it's incredible
for sure. Well, Gary, you've been a great peaking of information here.
Thank you so much, my man. Enjoy the off day, looking
forward here to the nine game homestandcoming up twins and tomorrow. But have
a great show as well, andwe'll get you back on soon. Appreciate
you. Yeah, sounds good.I think I speak for everyone while saying

(20:15):
it is great to be home.No more airplanes, hotels. You can
sleep in your own bed. Nowthat's scary. Hill Junior joining us,
scary. Thank you so much again, Mariners broadcast joining us. We got
a break Aaron Lavina, Fox thirteen. Right around the quota on ninety three
three KJRFM. You're text a fillingup. We see him because it's Niek

(20:41):
you see no Thursday once again righthere on Sports Radio ninety three point three
KJRFM again beginning of six am.Listeners directed the Texter first and last name

one repeat four top for the nexthour, one name that texted in and

(21:03):
the prior hour will be called out, and that listener's got five minutes to
call in and claim one hundred dollars. I know you can use it.
I can use it, jump onit. If you don't call it within
five minutes, the hundred bucks rollsover to the next hour and the prize
goes up in value. The processrepeated every hour. At the six pm
winner doesn't call back, the potrolls over two next Thursday, all thanks

(21:29):
to Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainmentcapital of the Northwest. Again EQCO Thursday
is brought to you by the EmeraldQueen Casino, the betting capital of the
Northwest. Come down to the beautifulEQC Sportsbook to bet, watch and win
on all the games. Our moneyman Aaron Levina Fox thirteen right on deck
here and kind of in a littlebit of a connection. The champions have

(21:53):
changed. Event going down tomorrow atClimbing Pledge Arena. I know that we
had Michael Bennett on these air wavesshow. You can find Chuck and Buck
in the morning, by the waypodcasts of via the iHeartRadio app. It's
like Aaron and I whenever we geton this show together, it's been done
before. We're sitting over an appetizersampler of all topics here. Got a

(22:15):
little bit of Mariners, a littlebit of the NFL, a little bit
of the Kraken, and the NHLdraft, some NBA questions in there too.
It's kind of like the five PMHappy Hour special. I'm all set
to gain ten pounds again. Butthe guy who I met back when he
was twenty two and still looks twentytwo, that's Aaron Levien, sports Commander

(22:37):
in Chief, a Fox thirteen joiningus now on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline.
Aaron, how are you? Myman? Good? But I don't know
of any twenty two year olds withgray hair, probably passed for thirty two,
but I'm going back twenty years. It is kind of rough, that's
all because you're Payton in the house, right, and to have a little
bit of white, just like specklingon the hair. Right. Sure?

(22:59):
So hey, first off, what'sthis I hear about you having a Russia's
conversation to get to trivia? Isthat right? Well, listen, I'm
in five or six different leagues andoh it's sort of my my past time
away from the sports world and awayfrom my job I was. I was
a competitive golfer for all these years. Since I can't play competitive golf,
something's got to fill that void, and so I turned to trivia about five

(23:22):
years ago or so, true orfalse? She watched a ton of Jeopardy.
It's all my I think it basicallytakes up ninety percent of my GVR.
I've seen you back into sports officesthough. Yeah, it's on that
screen all the time, all thetime. There's no question. I love
to watch you compete for a halfhour with Ken Jennings. So what Jira
that they give me the opportunity?I'm all in. But what would you

(23:48):
rather do that or face one hundredmile an hour fastball from Andrea's munos oh
one hundred times beyond Jeopardy? Imean that's my lifelong absolutely. I can't
wait to see you, Aaron Levijoining us here. Champions A change is
going down tomorrow, special event atClimate Pledge Arena. We know Alyssa from
your quarters of work playing in thisthing repin Fox thirteen. I mean,

(24:11):
what amazes you about the way thatyou guys, You've been around and covered
Doug Baldwin, Michael Bennett, CliffAverril. The way that they're getting involved
here to get into this thing.Well, first off, there's a reason
why Alyssa is playing and I'm not. I mean, let's volunteer the former
Division one athlete Division one women's basketballplayer at the University of Idaho instead of

(24:33):
the guy who tried to walk onthe golf team at Stanford and still got
cut after two weeks. So Ithink that's the good decision. First second,
I think it's great that all thoseguys come back on a regular basis.
The fact that they're so involved, intimately involved in the community and everything
that Doug has done down in rentedthe community center and getting all the guys

(24:55):
back, and it was great.I was just over at Jermaine Curs's golf
facility yesterday. I have a Greengolf club, and Redmond caught up with
him and Greg Body, by theway, the two owners of that facility,
and Greg just won a US Openchampionship as a caddy for Bresdon to
Shambo. So yeah, there's somany great athletes and sporting figures in the

(25:15):
area and the fact that they're ableto come back at least once a year
for this event is always a funtime. Unlista Charleston playing in this thing
again. Champions at Change foundation dotorg for more information. Aaron, let's
talk Mariners here. First off,I mean it was once ten games,
now down to four and a halfin consensus. As we see some text
rolling in, it's early and thenI'm scared. What's your level of concern?

(25:38):
Both, it's early and I'm scared. But then again, if you
take a look at the big picture, if we're talking at the beginning of
the season and saying we're at theend of June and the Mariners are in
first place in the AL West andhave a four and a half game lead,
there's not a single person out therethat wouldn't have taken it. So
again, yeah, we're concerned. The Astros are on ah. They won

(26:00):
however, miny games in a row, seven to row, but the Mariners
have a lead still. They've shownsparks. They need to go out and
get a bat before the trade deadline. They're still batting around two twenty as
a team. It's one of theworst in the league. They've shown sparks,
but not consistently. They have thepitching staff if they're able to get
to the playoffs, if they're ableto win a division even better and potentially

(26:22):
get a buy in the first roundand not have to play in the wildcard
round. But again, the factof the matter is they have to get
to the playoffs first, and inorder to do so, they need to
bolster this lineup with offense. Andthat's what Jerry Depoton needs. Go go
out and do and you know, whatever they need to do to get it,
get it done, Aaron, Iwant to pivot to some football because

(26:42):
the Seahawks announced earlier this week, you know what cell phone wise for training
camp. Yeah, we we'd askif you guys not have that at all,
how are they going to how arethey going to do this? How
they're gonna have ushers out there like, hey, phoned, what are you
doing? Put it away? Orare Do you have any knowledge of what
they plan to do in this regard. I don't have knowledge of it,

(27:03):
but I think what you just saidis dead on. I mean, there
will be people that are are keepingan eye on people bringing out their cell
phones and whether it's even to textsomebody. You're not supposed to have your
phone listen if they're able to handlethis at the Masters the way they are
no cell phones. They'll be ableto do it on a grassy knoll at

(27:26):
the Seahawks facility. So it mightbe a little bit different. But I
know that the coaching staff is probablya little paranoid about anybody shooting potential formations
going into this season what they're practicing, and so it's one thing to describe
it. It's another thing to actuallysee it on video, and they don't
want that video out there. Howcrazy would it be if they Because I'm
imagining you've been to maybe a showor something where you have to put your

(27:48):
phone in the pouch and you getit after the show. How crazy would
that be if they have thousands ofpouches where you just drop your phone off
and you get at the end ofthe practice. A little crazy, but
I wouldn't be surprised if they ifthey went that route. Also, it's
really to limit even the risk ofsomebody doing something like that, they've got
to have that kind Yeah, oh, we're talking. We're talking about trivia

(28:11):
quickly, because you know, evenin those nights, cell phones aren't allowed
at all, not even to textsomebody, because there's suspicion of somebody looking
up or googling an answer. It'svery similar to this situation where you don't
want anybody on their phone because theycould be a video in something that that
they don't want to be video.Because if I can borrow a line from
Rick Patino, Regis Philbin ain't walkingthrough that door. This is not who

(28:33):
wants to be a millionaire question? Here, Aaron Moore, Seahawks, you're
ready munch into the Steelers needing awide receiver. In yesterday, there's video
out there about Russell Wilson throwing toDK Metcalf. Well, I mean,
I don't see that move happen anytimestoo. I don't I feel like this.

(28:55):
This coaching staff wants to know whatthis offense can do with Genus Smith
the quarterback and the receiving core thatthey currently have. So that's I mean,
listen, let's let's start the seasonsee what this offense with Ryan Grebb
can do with all of the potentialweapons that they have. There's no question
that so far during the offseason, this is without pads that Jack and Smith
and Jigba has been an absolute starin the OTAs. But you you pair

(29:19):
him with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalfand that is one of the top trios
receiver groups in the in the countrywhen it comes to the NFL. So
let's see what they can do firstbefore there's any talk of a trade crack
and tomorrow get the NHL draft goinghere And this is kind of like a
three part conversation here, and Imean it's the first. Number one,
what they may take and they needdefenseman at least ask me about that.

(29:42):
Number Two, what kind of offensiveupgrades are they going to make in the
trade market or free agency? That'sgetting close. And three, of course
can they get back to the StanleyCup playoffs? I mean coaching or offense?
To you, what's gonna make makea bigger impact? You think to

(30:02):
get this train right back on theplayoff tracks. Offense, you need to
score more goals. We talked aboutit all last season and maybe the Dave
Haxtall system wasn't the best way togenerate that offense. But I think you
also, along with the system, need to bring in a bona fide point
score, whether that's goals assists combined. You need to get somebody in here,

(30:22):
because you're talking about a team lastyear who had their highest point score
as Jared mccannon. He was whateighty second in the league with sixty two
points. You need somebody that canbe not this is nothing against McCann at
all, but you need somebody onyour team that could be a more reliable
and more consistent points scorer on anightly basis. One quick question here,

(30:48):
because the trademarks heating up and youcan't get something sometimes to get something,
and reportedly teams are calling the crackand they brought up Shane Rice name and
Ron Franciss said, well, he'snot interested in no way, no out,
forget it. But we've heard thata guy like Mitch Marner is still
out there just as an example, close one hundred point guy for his career.
I mean, do you think it'sworth it ever trading Shane Wright if

(31:11):
it means getting a top line guywho can get you consistently ninety to one
hundred points. I would say yes, And I know that's a really tough
call. But the reason I sayyes is this number one. I just
mentioned the lack of scoring or thetop scorers on the team. A one
hundred point scorer is so rare inthe NHL, there are only what nine

(31:32):
of them all last year? Yes, you have Shane Wright under club control
for what the next three years? How many of those seasons is Shane Wright
going to be a ninety to onehundred point scorer? I would probably say
not this year, and maybe thesecond year and potentially the third. So
you're talking about maybe one, one, maybe possibly two seasons of the next
three years. Is he guaranteed tobe on the Kraken past this third season

(31:57):
of his contract? No, nothingis a guarantee going forward after three years
from now. So if you're bringingsomebody in, yeah, you'd love to
have Shane Wright under club control, you know, for the you know,
for his career, and there's morelikelihood that he would stay with the team
that it was drafted with come freeagency. But nothing is guaranteed past three
years from now. You might aswell bring in a bona fide points score
now because that's what you need rightnow. And honestly, I'm willing to

(32:22):
part with Shane Wright if that's moreof a guarantee of bringing somebody in that's
going to score ninety five one hundredpoints to three of the next three seasons.
What food for thought here as atrade market is heating up and the
NHL Draft gets underway tomorrow in LasVegas at the sphere. Erin your chariot,
You're a trivia chariot. Awaits getgoing, my man. Thank you,
