It is so good to be backat our normal time. Man, good
morning. It's the Health of WelldessShow now on one of the three point
five FM and five sixty AM WVSCWOW. Three straight noon kickoffs for the
game Cocks, which meant our bestgame cut coverage started at this time the
last three Saturdays. But back toa normal schedule now. And finally,
it is good to have you withus this morning. My name is Gary
(00:30):
David. Coming up, we're goingto talk about Aaron Plott's big news.
Yeah, massage mechanics, big newsto pass along. I'll just tell you
it's big news. I can't divulgeit quite yet. We'll let her do
that when she joined us here justa little while. Medicare open enrollment season
underway now it ends December seventh. We're chatting about that with Jeff Howell from
Health Markets. We get the ballrolling this morning though with a Bridget Trammell
(00:54):
who joins us in the studio now. Bridget Tramil from the Health There,
good morning, how are you.Good morning? Thanks for having me.
Good to see things well, Ihope to win great absolutely rolling along changing
lives over here. Well, it'sall about transformation, isn't it? Yes,
it is, And that's that's atricky word. You know, everybody
has a transformation program. You know, everybody's got their their ninety day,
(01:18):
thirty day, three day detox transformation. You know, you get to mind,
body, soul, physical, spiritual, emotional. We even claim to
be a ninety day cellular health transformationprogram, you know, reversing the symptoms
of type two diabetes, high bloodpressure, cholesterol, sleep atna, obesity,
and you know we give a thirtyday money back guarantee. We promised
(01:38):
to transform those symptoms in thirty daysor less. But you know, what
does the word transformation really mean? You know, ask a kid, it's
some sort of a toy from amovie. Yeah exactly, its transforming,
Yeah exactly, that's exactly right. But if you look at the word transform
(01:59):
or transformation, it means a thoroughor dramatic change in form or appearance.
And that's what we're all after. That's what all of our clients come in.
They have a medical chart with typetwo diabetes, sleep apnea, high
blood pressure, high cholesterol, andthey're asking us, how can we change
and transform this situation? You know, so at the health there transformation is
(02:23):
not an easy process. No,no, it's not. Everybody wants to
be the butterfly, but nobody wantsto be the larva. You know,
don't want to be out warm lookingthing. That's right. We all want
to be this beautiful butterfly with gorgeouscolors. But there is a process to
real and true transformation. The gimmickythree day detox, the magic pill,
(02:43):
it's just not that. That isour society these days, isn't it.
Bridget I mean, we want it, we want it now, we want
it perfect, and we want itto last. Well, those things don't
all go to fit together very nicely. That's exactly right, And especially when
you look at health and wellness ora fitness journey, it's a marathon,
not a sprint. People come andexpecting a magic pill. Now, don't
(03:06):
get me wrong. The average inchloss is seventeen inches in thirty days and
the average pounds loss is sixteen poundsin thirty days. I mean, that's
pretty phenomenal, fast and furious results. But at the same time, we're
not just talking about weight loss thehealth there's not a weight loss program.
It's a transformation program at the cellularlevel from the inside out your cell's being
(03:28):
transforming them from raisins into grapes, and that's the whole basis of hydration and
muscle gain. How does that changethings for you when you make that transformation
at the cellul level. What happensthen? Well, like I've said before,
Gary, there's no special zapping machinewhere you can put yourself in a
(03:49):
cellular health time machine, but thereare indicators of cellular health. So a
healthy cell, these disease cannot livedormant inside. So if you have a
healthy, hydrated cell, it isimpossible for disease to live inside of it.
Now, we have billions of cellsin our bodies. Some of our
cells regenerate every ten days, someof our cells regenerate every ten years.
(04:11):
So it is finding that the majorityof your cells can transform in a ninety
day period, give or take acouple billion. Okay, So what we're
trying to do is we're trying toget most of your cells in ninety days
to transform from cells that are thatare dehydrated, that have disease, that
are that are holding that visceral fat, that stubborn belly fat you can't get
(04:33):
rid of after forty that's cellular fat. So what we have found is a
series of technologies that can help youloosen and release that while regenerating your cells
into the hydrated, healthy cells thatthey should be. Well, who knew
fat was that? Yeah, that'sa good sounds So it's so, yeah,
(04:56):
visceral fat sounds evil. You know, I just finished a children's book
called the Evil Doctor Virus. Youknow, we should have made it the
Evil Doctor viseral. But you knowthat's just belly fat. Fancy word for
sticky belly fat. And that's whatwe deal with at the health. There
is that cellular fat that we needto transform. So everything you just describe
that transforming those cells from raisins tograpes or is it prunes to grapes?
(05:24):
Yeah, but yeah, you getthat that visual of this hard, impenetrable
thing in this nice juicy you knowesexactly right. When we're young, When
we're young, okay, like atoddler, a toddler is made of seventy
percent water. You look at thesekids, you know, they're young,
They're full of energy, they cango for hours without stopping. They're fully
(05:45):
hydrated. The older that we getwomen should be approximately fifty five percent hydrated.
Men should be approximately seventy percent hydrated. When I put a three hundred
pound diabetic person on my scale, they're usually around a thirty one thirty four
percent hydration. And that means thatthe outside of the cell is having a
hard time communicating with the inside ofthe cell because of a dehydration situation.
(06:09):
So most of the time, ifwe can get that cell to open up,
hydrate, and get that insulin communicationgoing back and forth, we can
reverse the symptoms of type two diabetesin just a few weeks every single time
at the healthcare if our clients arefollowing the protocol, and that's when transformation
starts to happen at the cellular levelfrom the inside out and not just a
(06:30):
weight loss gimming. And let's beclear, because your claim is not in
thirty days you'll get rid of diabetes, right. You'll reverse the systems symptoms.
Your blood sugar start to go down, and you should start to have
some weight loss, and you shouldhave start to gain energy, your snoring
should start to decrease. We shouldstart to see transformation happening. And here's
(06:51):
the thing. Marilyn Ferguson made astatement. She said transformation is a journey
without a final destination. That's thetruth, you know. So we are
trying to get our clients to movetoward a healthier lifestyle. And if it's
not sustainable, it's not attainable. It has to be something that they can
do for the rest of their lifethat does not hinder the life that they
(07:15):
have. Now, I can tellyou from personal experience, and you know
my story. We've talked about itand took the day in twenty seventeen when
all first came been around for along time, but you first came to
Colombia about that time, and Ihad great success with it and I kept
I kept that great. I keptthat lifestyle for a long long time.
Yeah, until we had twenty twenty. Yeah. Yeah, we all kind
(07:40):
of backtrack in twenty twenty. Buteven then I knew what I should be
doing, the way I should betreating my body, Yes, and I
didn't. So you know, I'mback on it now. My wife and
I are both doing it again. We're about six weeks in or so.
And it's like like an old pit, it's like an old glove, you
(08:01):
know, And and it really isamazing when you can make that turns right
in your life and you you lookat the things that you're doing before and
why was I doing that? Andit becomes just second nature when you see
the results that you can attain onthis program, right, it's like,
(08:22):
why would I ever go back todoing things that I used to do?
And there's no quick fix. Butthe thing is you have to be able
to enjoy life. There are somany health coaches and programs out there that
are so restrictive that they're impossible. You can do every diet for a little
while, sure, and then you'regoing to fall off. You know,
(08:43):
there are a lot of unhealthy waysto lose weight. And then if you
look at sugar addiction and the processedfoods of America, let me tell you
something. In the reward system ofthe brain, heroin is two thousand units,
sex is five hundred units, andchocolate chip cookie is fifty units.
We are talking about the exact sameaddictions that people check into a clinic for.
(09:07):
We are filling our children with inthese schools, giving them sugar.
So a child's superhero by the timethey're five is you know, the Twist
Bunny and Captain Crunch, and they'realready little sugar addicts' that's how we're raising
people in America, and so justreversing some of those some of those patterns
is part of the transformation. Butyou can't just give up a way of
(09:30):
life or the simple pleasures of life. You've got to be able to have
a birthday cake. You've got tobe able to have a chocolate chip cookie.
You've got to be able to goto Disney World and need a hot
dog with your grandkids. We arenot trying to make people supermodels. We're
not trying to make them have asix pack at age sixty five. We
would just want them to live longerand not live in a wheelchair where someone
else is taken care of them.Right, if you bring up kids these
(09:54):
days and we were raised, Iwas raised the same way and we didn't
think twice about it. To tellyou the truth, we have a lot
more information our disposal now and weknow better, but still we kind of
still do the same things we didas kids, and our kids the same
way. I guess. But howis there a too young to start a
program like the health There absolutely notthe Health Dare program, like I said,
(10:18):
it's a sailor health program. Butthe Health Dare has thousands of recipes,
and we're talking about recipes like macaroniand cheese. We're talking about meatloaf,
we're talking about mashed potatoes, we'retalking about Philly cheese, steak burritos,
which we've prepared for you and yourwife and your home. And I
gotta mention this because just a couples. I guess it was a Tuesday night
(10:41):
and did the stuff belt Pepper's recipe? Oh, absolutely delicious, benefact I
have. I brought one in thenext day, sat in my refrigerator.
I forgot I'd put it there, and came in the next day, and
so on a second day of aleftover, it was even better than the
first. That's awesome. Well, and like I said, you can't have
(11:03):
a program that's sustainable if it makesyou give up all the pleasures. You
know, we have chicken, parmesanon and things like that. And like
I've said before, you need alittle fat on your body to be healthy.
Fat is like packaging, it's likeinsulation. It's like sending a package
in the mail. You want alittle bubble wrap on there to make sure
it's healthy and cushion. It protectsyour heart. It protect your organs.
But when you wrap that bubble wraparound a package five hundred times, you
(11:26):
wrap that around your organs, you'resuffocating your body. So again, yeah,
yeah, but healthy is the newskinny. You know, healthy.
We don't want to lose weight toget healthy. You want to get healthy
to lose weight. And if weightloss is a part of your health journey,
then we'll help you lose the weight. But sometimes weight gain is part
of your health journey for some people, or they have hashimotos, or they
(11:48):
have an autoimmune disease, or theyhave something where we're having to help them
with hybrothid radism. The health thereis a cellular health program and we're helping
them constantly transform and pursue do healthierhabits while still enjoying life. So put
on your coach bridget hat here fora second. So when someone comes in
four weeks, eight weeks, twelveweeks for the checkup, what are the
(12:11):
things you're looking for to show successand improvement. It's more it's not just
hop on a scale and see whatit says. What I want to see
as far as marks, I wantto see inches lost, inches lost tell
me more than pounds lost. We'relooking more for our clients to replace their
(12:31):
fat with water and muscle, soI'm not so concerned about the numbers on
the scale, although they will loseweight. Like I said, the average
client loses sixteen pounds and seventeen inchesin the first thirty days on the healthcare
and that's guaranteed or their money back. So I want to see inches.
I want to see them starting tolose their fat on their belly, especially
that visceral cellular fat. But canyou kill you right? That's exactly right.
(12:54):
It causes stroke, heart attack disease, Alzheimer's, even kron lower respiratory
disease, is like COVID nineteen accidentsand injuries by putting stress on your back,
degenerative disease, cancer, heart disease. I mean, all of the
things that our clients deal with area result of obesity and belly fat,
(13:15):
so we do focus on that asa marker. So we want inches off
the belly. We also want tosee hydration increase because muscle is made of
water. So if they're increasing theirwater, they're increasing their muscle, they're
also increasing their hydration in their cells, kicking that that disease kicking out that
nasty fat that we're trying to getrid of. But it's not just that,
Gary, I want to hear frommy clients how they're feeling. I
(13:39):
care more about how they feel thanwhat they look like. So when they
tell me, oh, my goodness, I got out of the recliner,
I don't have to use my seapammachine. I'm sleeping back in bed with
my wife after ten years of sleepingin separate recliners, in separate bedrooms,
my energies through the roof. I'mchasing my wife around the house. I'm
chasing my grandkids around the house.Different reasons, different reasons. But when
(14:03):
we start to see that quality oflife coming back and that sparkle coming back,
and you look at these retired clientsthat have worked their entire lives and
their bodies are breaking down, andwe're able to restore that energy and that
youth and help them to transform andto live longer and live better, it
is so rewarding for not only them, but for us as well. So
(14:24):
let me ask you this, bridgetso much of this is about again.
It gets back to hydrating that cellagain. So somebody says to you,
well, fine, I'll just drinka bunch of water. Well, and
that's where our program comes in withour technologies. There are special technologies that
(14:45):
help us to help the client openthe cell, absorb the water. Because
right now people leave the doctor's office, they get diagnosed a little more,
you know, blood pressure medicine, and think all right, I'm gonna cut
out soda, start drinking some water. The problem is you're cells have a
hard shell around them because of environmentalissues or age in itself, and so
when you try to drink water,it goes around the cell and you just
(15:09):
pee it out. At the healththere we figured out how to open the
cell, get the water in,flush out the disease, flush out the
fat, and that's where that truehealing starts to occur. Okay, so
you're not just a middle man. That's exactly right, that's exactly right.
I can't tell you the secret.I have to kill you, Gary,
I know, got to come inand sign up. But yeah, I
had a client who's a dear friend. His name is Lawrence, forty five
(15:31):
years old, and he found himselfweighing in at three hundred and twenty pounds,
you know, very successful, realderthree kids, and a wife to
support heart of Gold. He wassuffering from acid reflex, high blood pressure,
pre diabetes, heart and liver disease. And his doctor looked at him
in the eye. He told me, this is what the changing point was.
(15:52):
His doctor said, what eighty toninety year old man, do you
know that's over three hundred pounds andyou don't. You don't know anybody.
So if you stay over three hundredpounds, you're not going to live to
be eighty. And Lawrence knew heneeded to do better, so he came
to the healthcare and I will tellyou his results. It's so exciting.
(16:15):
Lawrence lost sixty seven pounds of fatand thirty five inches at his eight week
he lost forty five pounds of fatand forty one and a half inches.
At his four week evaluation, helost twenty three pounds of fat and thirty
nine inches. And when we hadhis way and he was off to celebrate
his daughter's birthday at Great Waflodge. And so you know, looking into that
(16:37):
man's eyes and seeing him take hislife back in his forties, we now
know he's going to make it tohis sixties. That's great. The health
there all right, So what's thenext step for somebody listening this morning and
thinking that's me. Yeah, giveus a call idare me Call one eighty
seven seven idareme, or go toidareme dot com and we'll talk to you
(17:00):
on the phone. We'll get youyour transformation begun. Great coach, bridget
Trammel, the health there. Greatto see as always, have a great

(19:36):
point five FM and five sixty AMWVOCand again still good to be back on
a rmal time slot this morning afterour best game cut coverage bumped us to
the afternoon slot for the last coupleof weeks. But here we are again
where we belong at nine am everySaturday morning, and it is good to
have you with us. Aaron Plottnow joining us from Massage Mechanics, who
also has been kind of on adifferent schedule the last couple of weeks.
(19:57):
You were in Mexico for two weeks, is that right, Aaron, Yes,
yes, yes, yes, soI left pretty much right after we
spoke last and and have just beenjet setting around Mexico. But you know,
lots of people are like, oh, it must be nice to be
able to for that long, andquite honestly, it was. It was
(20:21):
lovely and it was just kind ofone of those things that you know,
serendipitously happened. We had a coupleof different trips that just kind of you
know, landed back to back.Okay, where did you Where did you
land back to back? So wewent to Cabo. Yeah, we actually
(20:44):
did go to Cabo Wabbo and itwas amazing. It was so fun.
But we we were in San Josedel Cabo, which is about twenty minutes
northeast of Cabo San Lucas, sowe got to experience both it's a little
bit quiet or there it's you canget out and walk around and go into
the town and all the things. So it was really cool. We were
(21:07):
there, you know, at atime where there's a whole lot of cultural
stuff happening, so you know,Da Da Les, Maury Case and and
things like that. We've got tolearn a lot about you know that the
culture and and and why they celebratethe way that they do and everything.
So it was really cool, justa different perspective. So you did Cabo,
(21:32):
what what else did you do,you mentioned, Well, then we
then we went to the other coastand we were in Cancun for a little
while, uh, for a corporateretreat. So there was Yeah. So,
like I said, when it wasn'teven ever planned that we were going
to do both. They just kindof fell in where it was like,
well, we're already in Mexico,so we might as well record state you're
(21:56):
not an international jet center yet.No. No, that was just luck,
but it was it was definitely aneeded break because we have been crazy,
you know. Yeah, well, well the most here I got to
ask you this though, So you'retwo weeks in Mexico, you're on vacation.
I mean I know you got amassage, right of course, of
(22:17):
course you did, Yes, Idid, uh, And I'm not gonna
lie. I was a little nervousbecause you know, we've talked before about
getting massages while you travel, yes, and that sometimes it can go horribly
horribly wrong. So I was Iwas a little nervous going into it.
You know, Well that was wasthis Was this a massage like in a
(22:38):
in a nice resort hotel or isthis a massage like on a table on
the beach? No? This wasat the resort in Cabo. So we
were at Cabo Azoul, which isa gorgeous resort and they have a spa
on site, and so I wentto that one. Now Cancun, we
were also at a resort, andI could have done one where they had
(23:00):
these pavilions overlooking the ocean and youcould have gone and done that, but
it was it was a lot rainierin Cancun than I thought it was gonna
be. It's the rainy season,is it. And so I was just
kind of like, no, I'mgood, it's fine because I've seen this
in Mexico where it's not affiliated witha resort, but it's just you know,
(23:21):
on a beach and somebody's doing massages. I'm guessing you probably want to
stay away from those, like theplague, right. You know, it's
so funny because this goes all backto marketing. You know. Uh,
it looks amazing to have a massageon a beach and you're like, oh
wow, that's so great, that'sso cool, you know, and and
wouldn't that be so relaxing, Butyou don't take into consideration the logistics of
(23:45):
it. And you know, whenyou are on the beach, you obviously
have to walk, you know,to your massage table, and sand is
something that is yeah, and youknow, you know as well as I
do from the south, you know, and near the beach, beach sand
gets everywhere there is no you know, and especially if it's windy and things
(24:08):
like that, that that wind's pickingup that sand and everything. So it's
like I said, this is allmarketing that comes in where they have this
gorgeous photo and yet you know, and you're like, wouldn't that be the
most amazing thing in the world. And you just have to kind of understand
the realities of it because I've talkedto so many people who are like,
(24:29):
oh, you know, I expectedthis and this is what happened, and
it just kind of ruined it.And you don't know that person give me
that massage and they know what they'redoing or not right right exactly. And
you know, when you do traveloutside of the country, they are very
very different rules and laws kind ofgoverning all of that. You know,
(24:52):
like in Europe they're very they're alot freer than we are with bodies and
things like that, you know, new things like that. You know,
the body is a beautiful thing inany culture, but in Europe especially they're
they're very you know, nudity isnot a big thing there, you know,
there is there's no nobody's worried aboutit. So they tend to be
(25:15):
a little bit more what's the word, I'm looking for a little a little
less covering in Europe and things likethat. And in Mexico. You know,
in Mexico you're wondering is there anyregulation at all? You know,
is there licensure or is this justkind of like, hey, I want
to do this for a career, and they just kind of come and do
it. Yeah. And of courseat the resorts and things, they are
(25:37):
they are highly trained and and justwonderful. And it really was a lovely
experience. And I was very happythat I did that because it it kind
of erased the experience expectation that Ihad, you know, So that's nice,
that's nice. I was really excited. Well, welcome back to the
USA, the land of regulations, which are very good at some which we
(26:00):
could we could debate certainly. Uh, that's right. But you mentioned you
got you got a very busy holidayseason comen of y'all got some things happening.
We want to talk about this morning. Yes, we do. In
fact, we have some really bignews. Okay, we are breaking news.
This breaking news. It is breakingnews. I have not really announced
(26:22):
it on Facebook or anywhere else.Yeah, of course my staff knows and
and my networking group notes because they'rehelping me with a lot of stuff.
But we're opening a second location, not a new like okay, this is
going to be the only one,but location number two. There are going
to be two uh locations for MassageMechanics of South Carolina starting in early December.
(26:45):
We're looking at a December fifth openday. I know right now in
December. You are you are aglue for Marching. I really am.
And I was telling somebody the otherday. I was like, you know,
I'm not. I'm not sure whyI thought opening this over the holidays
was such a great idea, butreally it was again one of those situations
(27:07):
where the space opened up. Aclient actually told me about it, and
I went and looked at it andit was it was the perfect space and
the perfect price and a great location, and I couldn't say no. So
I was like, this is theuniverse telling me it's time to do this.
Mm. So where is the secondlocation are? So we are going
(27:30):
to be just off of Leepart Roadin West Columbia, so right on the
corner of Leaphart and Hebron Drive,So it's about it's basically the next street
over from three seventy eight, Sowe're right near Lexington Medical. We are
right across the street from Mount HebronMethodist Church, right down the road from
(27:52):
Great Collegiate Academy, so very verycentral. Yeah, we're right in between
I twenty and I twenty six.So that's going to be convenient not just
to West Columbians, but also topeople who are downtown, to people who
are coming from you know, Blythewood, things like that. Yep, yep.
(28:15):
And we're going to be able tooffer some really great services and everything
to people who are in that medicalcorridor. You know, our post op
patients coming from Lexington Medical. Youknow a lot of physical therapists are going
to be doing some stuff with usover there. We are also going to
have an esthetician on staff in thatoffice, so some some more uh you
(28:41):
know, services that we'll be ableto offer on that and some facial spray,
hands waxing, things like that. Are expanding the services. Okay,
yeah, yeah, So we're expandingit a little bit. It's still going
to be you know, us youknow, on the on the clinical,
you know side of things, butwe are just wanting to offer a little
(29:02):
bit extra there because that area isso much more populous as far as professionals
and you know, it's one ofthose things that they're looking for somewhere where
they can do stuff kind of allin one spot. So that was something
that we really wanted to offer. We're going to have three therapists full time
(29:22):
in that office, and we're goingto have three therapists full time in Laxington,
and then I get ping kong backand forth between the two. You
get to burn up the gas Milt. Yeah, right right, So I'm
really excited about it, and it'sit's definitely going to be a very very

Resort SPA type of massage. Uh, you can do that. But but
you guys, we're talking about massagesfor therapy here. That's that's really your
(31:37):
focus, correct. Yeah, Sotherapeutic work, rehabilitative work. If you
have chronic issues, chronic neck panebecause you sit at a desk and you're
on the computer all the time,if you have chronic back pane, autoimmune
issues, post surgical issues, ifyou're in physical therapy and you're feeling like
you just need that extra you know, we can work within your physical therapy
(32:02):
range. We can work with yourpets with your permission, and you know,
we do lymphatic drainage work to helpwith lymphedema, We do post surgical
oncology work. We do infants andpediatrics. We have a ton of sports
(32:22):
therapy clients that we are working withthem throughout their athletics training to keep them
mobile and to prevent any injuries foryou know, as they continue on with
what they're doing. And uh,you know that's just really where all of
our are, our passion lives isreally helping people with their flexibility and their
(32:43):
mobility and being able to uh,you know, function on a day to
day basis without pain. You mentionedpost but you do pre op work too,

help support your system and your bodyand how you're feeling, you know.

cupping, deep tissue, trigger point, you know, various different hot stones.
You know, if you if itcan happen in the massage world,
more than likely we have somebody onstaff who can do it. Beautiful and
(33:29):
important to point out you said ifyou have a pain in your neck,
not if you are a pain inthe neck. Well either or because honestly,
if you are a pain in theneck, it's probably because you're stressed
out. Well, that's a goodpoint. That's a very good point.
Well, it sounds like you gota busy December plan here a miss plot,
Yes, sir, yes, sir, we do. We're very excited.

time, so there will be nopause and service great. And the Black
Friday Special starts Thanksgiving night, yessir, we'll have those well on the

It's good to have you back again. Glad to hear you had a great
time and you survived your Mexico massage. I did. Now, let's be
honest here, now, when youwere getting that massage, were you able
to really relax or were you like, okay, I'm kind of great in
(34:58):
this person's performance here. Yeah,it's hard for me to relax completely because
I am sort of in the backof my head kind of like what are
they doing? Or oh, thatwas kind of cool? What's that?
You know? Like I am,I'm constantly you're not doing that, right,
It's not supposed to be that way. Sometimes do something and you're like
(35:19):
that was really cool. I wantto know what they did, you know,
so you kind of make mental notesas you go through. But did
you tell did you tell your massagetherapist that you were a massage therapist?
I did? I always do,you know, so put them on I
always, well, I feel likeit's honestly, I feel like you get
a better massage if you tell thembecause then they know that, like you
(35:43):
know, technically, what they're supposedto be doing. So we's going to
happen. Now everybody comes and seesyou guys is going to say, yeah,
I'm a massage therapist. We actuallyhave a good number of our fellow
massage therapists that come in and seeus, so we definitely love to see
our comrades. So that's good tohear. All right, So again new
(36:05):

four point thirty this afternoon that kicksoff ahead of that seven thirty kick off
tonight with the game Cocks and theKentucky Wildcats. Over it to Williams Bryce

(39:28):
my friend, Good morning, Gary. I guess things are probably a little
busy for you right about now, aren't they. We're counting the days down
till December the seventh, of it. Yeah, open enrollment for Medicare.
Time to make the changes, andI don't know, Jeff, December seventh
is a deadline. Now, thisdoesn't apply to people who were getting ready
(39:49):
to turn sixty five, you know, in twenty twenty four. You don't
do that right now. But Iguess maybe for some folks it's you know,
if your birthdays in January, it'stime to get cracking, isn't it.
That's correct. If you're turning sixtyfive in January or February or even
March, we can meet with younow and take a look at your options.
But for most people who are alreadysixty five and have been on a
(40:13):
Medicare plan, December seventh is theirdeadline to make any changes to their prescription
drug plan or their Medicare advantage plan. Okay, and those are two different
things. We talk prescription drug plan, this is a traditional Medicare with the
Medicare supplement, the drug card. The advantage plans are a whole different beast,
right, That's correct. A lotof people have been coming into my
(40:37):
office, which is you know, right by the flight Deck restaurant in Lexington,
and been saying they've been getting aton of phone calls, which frankly,
it's illegal for any telemarker to callanyone on medicare, and oh really,
you know, out of the blue. You know, they're only supposed
to call it to have permission tocall a person on Medicare. But apparently
these overseas telemarketers are just something.I'll over that rule and calling people.
(41:00):
But essentially, you know, I'ma local agent. I've been doing Medicare
for a long time and helping aton of people in Lexington County in the
Midlands, and we encourage everyone,if you haven't taken a look at your
twenty twenty four options, to comein and meet with us before December seventh
and not trust these online call centersbecause they frankly did not know the way
(41:23):
of the land and the Midlands. They don't know anything about Lexton Medical Center
or Prisma. They just want tosell you whatever particular plan they might be
peddling at the time, and yourdoctors may not be in network, it
may not fit your prescriptions, andit's you know, we we would like
for Congress to do something about theseMedicare telemarkers, but so far it's they've
(41:46):
had little to no effect in curbingthem. Well, you know, on
the flip side of that coin, you know, we see a lot of
TV ads these days to call someeight hundred number and so those are legit,
right, but you know who knowswho's on the odor of that phone?
Same deal? What do they knowabout the lay of the land here
in the middle of South Carolina? That's right. You see the Martha TV
(42:06):
commercials, the Joe Namath commercials, all of those Medicare commercials. Those are
call centers and maybe in the countrythat may be out of the country,
but they're certainly not in Lecxington, and so they you know, I can't
speak for them. I can't speakabout how good or bad they are.
I just can speak that I knowthey're not here in Lectington. So if
(42:29):
they don't know the local lay ofthe land for people who are here and
who need need to get their doctorscovered and need to have the best coverage
here in South Carolina, So yougive people the opportunity to come into your
place and sit down face to facewith you. Now, for somebody who
has never done this before, maybethey've been on Medicare for a while and
they're thinking, okay, maybe Imaybe I can find something better for my
(42:52):
health coverage. When they come inand sit down, what sorts of things
do you talk about to try todetermine what's the best route for them to
take. F Oh and by theway, great question, how much does
this cost? I'm free. I'mfree to everyone, so you know,
and people always say, well, how in the world you get paid?
Don't you have to pay for groceriesand publics? Yes? So I do
(43:14):
get paid. Eventually, If ifa person picks a plan. For example,
let's say they purchased a Medicare supplementwith Blue Cross Blue Shield that's what
puts them the best, and aprescription drug card from blue Cross Blue Shield,
then blue Cross would pay me acommission. But the price is for
that supplement and for that drug planare the exact same prices is if that
(43:37):
person called blue Cross on the BlueCross store. So there's no up charge
for using my service as I amfree. Okay, no mark up.
Nothing's paid to you by the bythe the folks sitting in front of you.
Is all done by the insurance companieson the other end. Okay,
good to know. So that's allright, that's right. So you have
that sit down, and so howshould we be prepared to to know what
(44:00):
questions to ask, what kind ofinformation is going to be needed here?
Right? I always ask a perspectiveclient or my current clients to bring in
a list of their physicians, alist of the hospitals they would like to
use, a list of their prescriptions, and a list of the pharmacies they
like to use. Okay, Andthen after we go through those items,
(44:21):
we talk about budget and you knowwhat budget they have for their insurance.
So all those things come into play. And your health history is important too,
isn't it is to determining you know, maybe you go traditional, you
go advantage or whatever. I knowthere are a difference between between those two.
Well, good question. Whereas yourhealth history is something that if a
(44:45):
person wants to share with me,we will certainly discuss. But a health
history is not determinement upon which planyou go on because there's no underwriting during
open enrollment. So for example,a person does not have to call I
just switch Medicare advantage plans, anda person does not have to qualify if
they're just now turning sixty five toget on a Medicare supplement. However,
(45:07):
as you say, a person's medicalhistory will help me guide them in the
direction that I can advise them onwhich way to go. And that's because
if let's say you've had a lotof issues, and you may if you've
had a lot of health issues, chances and maybe are good that you'll continue
to And that does come into playas far as to which way you want
to go, doesn't it? Itcould? It could, But I've had
(45:30):
many people on Medicare advantage plans who'vehad a plethora of health issues and a
Medicare advantage plan has satisfied their needsand they're very happy with it. Because
a Medicare advantage plan does greatly limitwhat you will pay out a pocket limit
it to set copase. However,a Medicare supplement is also a great choice,
(45:51):
and then it limits you to justyour Part B deductible a Plan G
Medicare supplement next year, the PartBE deduct is only two hundred and forty
dollars. So if a person we'rein a coming in the hospital for three
months, they'd wake up they onlyowe two hundred and forty dollars on a
Plan G Medicare supplement. Well, there's really no wrong answer. It's just
(46:12):
we go through the options and theperson makes the decision that's best for them
and their budget and their needs.Let's say somebody comes in and sits down
and they say, well, yeah, I've been very healthy. I've considered
myself to be a very good health. I haven't had doctor's visits other than
the physical. I have been hospitalized, and I don't see that I will
be anytime soon. It's well, again, it depends on the individual,
(46:37):
I guess, but I know weright. Even someone in perfect health may
purchase a Medicare supplement, so healthis not always a determining factor. A
person in perfect health will say, well, I don't have a crystal ball.
I don't know what my health isgoing to be next year, just
five years from now, or twentyyears from now. And so you know,
(46:57):
all I do with my clients pushsome one way or the other.
I just give them the information andthen they make the best decision for them.
And you know, the person boughta Medicare supplement this year, five
years from now, and during openenrollment between October fifteenth and December sevener,
they can change to a Medicare advantageplan and try it for a year.
So there's many There's many options forpeople out there, which is great,
(47:22):
but many options can also be confusing, which is not so great. And
that's where my services come into play. Gotcha. Now, let me be
clear on some here, because we'vediscussed this before, but I always forget
exactly how this works. If youare currently on a Medicare supplement and you
want to make the change to aMedicare advantage plan, you can do that
(47:44):
for one year, and if youdon't like it, you can switch back.
Is that right? That's correct. So essentially, if you've never had
a Medicare advantage plan, even ifyou've had a Medicare supplement for twenty years,
and you come into my office beforeDecember seven, and I represent you,
let's say a Blue Cross Medicare advantageplan, and you like everything that
you hear, won't try that.So January one, your Blue Cross Medicare
(48:07):
Advantage plan goes into a fee.And let's say that you had previously been
on a Blue Cross supplement, aplan F or a Plan G let's say,
for example. And then next yearin October we meet again and they
say, you know what, Jeff, I just think I want to go
back to my secling and I canput them right back on Blue Cross supplement.
(48:28):
My medical questions asked because they're intheir one ear trial period. Now,
let's say they go that whole yearthey tried the advantage plan. We
meet in October, they say, let's go here with the advantage plan.
I like it. Then they callme on January second to twenty five,
which is a year in a day, and they say, well, I'll
(48:49):
offt some sleepless and I want togo back on that. Then they would
have to go through medical Hunter rightand get that went back. It's not
that they couldn't get it back,it's just they would have answer some help
questions. I may have to callit to their medical industry and they accept
it or declimbed after that year anda day. Okay, I'm right,
your phone's breaking up on us alittle bit. But I think we got
(49:10):
the gist of that that, yeah, you could go back on it after
that initial year, but you've gothave to go back through underwriting again and
go through that process. Would thatCould that mean that you're going back on
the supplement, that the actual theamount you're paying for that could be higher
than it was, you know, two years ago when you're on the supplement
the first time. So Medicare supplementsare age based, so you'll go back
(49:36):
on the supplement you're on at theage that you're now on. Okay,
it could be a little more becauseyou're a year older, correct, right,
And so for folks who are onnow, let's say you entered the
system to begin with at sixty fiveand you never went on a on a
Medicare supplement plan. You went anddidn't go to the traditional route. You
started off with the advantage plan atsixty five, and now you're sixty eight,
sixty nine and you're thinking, well, maybe I want to try the
supplement things. Is that the samedeal? You can? You can try
(49:59):
it for one year if you've neverbeen on before. Yeah, so that's
a different rule. So eventually peoplewho are turning sixty five, there's a
couple of points on that. Soa person who turns sixty five for their
first time they're on Medicare, theyhave that same one year trial period where
they can try the Medicare advanda goon to a Medicare something in that first
(50:21):
year Blue Cross Shows South Carolinas.I'm an unusual thing. They extended that
trial period as someone who's just goingto Medicare two for years or thirty six
months, three years Medicare advantage andthen if you decide you want to go
on a Medicare supplement, and Ican put you on a across Medicare or
(50:42):
something with no medical question. Sothat is incurs across Medicare when someone's first
going on there. Okay here inSouth Join so it's a little bit different
when it comes to that one.Yeah, okay, I got it.
And again your phones were breaking upa little bit. But you can start
off at sixty five on the advantageand uh you go upwards of three years
and still be able to go thentry out the traditional but and that's just
(51:06):
a blue cross. That's just ablue cross. When he starts off with
a I'm at now or you Manor one of the other good companies,
it's a one year ruld. Okay, that's a well. I think what
we have discovered again is time wetalk to you there is there's a lot
of different there's a lot of differentoptions here and certainly something you can do
on your own if you want to, but you might miss out on some
terrific benefits. Uh, certainly,or maybe the plan that you or the
(51:30):
right you decide to go is maybethe old one could have been better.
It's up to you to decide. But to get that additional information and to
really help you make an educated decision, you can talk to this guy right
here, Jeff Holl at Health Marketsand don't forget it doesn't cost you anything.
Jeff, how do folks get ahold of you? Because I know
what slots are filling up here?Time is short. Yes, my office
