Speaker 3 (00:21):
Well, we've been in the studio. We've already re recorded
our back catalog. Just we can get it streaming from
the vine. We'll press some CD and there's a couple
of new things that I haven't been heard yet.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Okay, I'll let those trickle out.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
So everyone's gonna ask me, Kevin, is this new stuff
gonna sound like shroom? Is it gonna sound truly different?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Okay? The first thing coming out is the back catalog.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Yeah, so we're just getting caught up with that going
the masters having the availability to release music, stream music,
and we.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Got some surprises that. Like I said, there's stuff you
know what's heard yet?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay, so something what's hard yet? And I'm so sorry
I didn't even let you guys introduce yourselves yet. Once
we go down a lot here, introduce yourselves. What you
guys do have to.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Do your part, So introduce you Daniel, I played your arms,
Joe kill Coin on.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Base, I played the bag pipes. He definitely plays the bag. Well,
we got the guys in two one six here. I'm
excited to be here. I love Whalen by the way,
Whale Whalen is the guy. He was our tour guy here.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
He actually grow up here. We rode in with him
and did you have fun trying to find parking? That
was a nightmare. Yeah, like just soon as we got here,
get in.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, there's been issues, but but he brought his dog
so it was ok.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, we did a bus four with him. Yeah, I
love that. You listen with you guys being an dick.
What's it feel like being on location for a festival?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
This says that feels awesome. You know, I don't think
it's new for many of us. You guys are with
other bands. Yeah, back when it was Eager Complaint, That's
play mush Mad and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
So because Whalen did talk about inking to clink a
little bit, you know, it's a.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Little feel of us have been tattooed here.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I was tattooed here a couple of years ago by
Roxy from Rushmat Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Okay, yeah, No, we'll definitely have a history here. Actually
filmed a music video here. Yeah, I'll have to go
back and watch. Yeah, bit a minute.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
I think it's Devils to Be Damn is the video.
But yeah, we spent a couple of days here.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Just this is your home. It's not far from him,
by the way. We're from Cleveland, Ohio. Two one six
makes sense, right, two yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Okay, So what all can fans expect the remaining of
twenty twenty five from two one six?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Well, like I said, we should be on streaming platforms soon,
hopefully have physical media out, especially vinyl.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I'm a big vinyl guy.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, and then we got something lined up with whalan
and AKC for the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
And this I was gonna say, there's no way you're like, oh yeah, dude,
you're not doing something with Whalen.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
There's no way you're Yeah, his new record comes out.
I think it's September, and I did it. You went
with him on that. Okay, great?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
You know so uh yeah, everything everyone's mingling together, mixing together.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Dan's playing drums with him half the time.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
So and Dan, we're gonna going to play that December show,
probably play three sets with five guys and you know, make.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Up three bands December show. Tell me about that the
twelfth and thirteenth.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
I believe it's a Toys for Top like fundraiser for Christmas.
But it's a k C two one six on day
one and AKC and Pentana on day two.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
And then we closed the night with Mushroomot's Greatest Hits
or something.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
And you said, this is what the second or third
time you've done this or this has been?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
We did it last year, definitely last year, and I've
recently toured with them twice, like we did the month
of December and the month of April. So everyone's just
getting back together. Yeah, you know, chamming together again. Like
I said, they drove us out here, you know, and
I got it. But he'll be playing with them Sunday.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yes, I shot photos for these guys for a Killer's Confession.
I went in and talked to Waylan on the interview.
You're in so many bands are in Dope goes Confession
two one six, anyone else I'm missing Twisted?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, that's it for now. He's a hooker.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Continue to be cons India, right, and we got you
recording with two one six, So I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
To hear that with you.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Now, when it comes to being in all these bands,
how do you stay sane?
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I just like playing it makes me saying, you know,
like playing up there. It's the heart of it. Ends
having a good time with it still and being grateful,
very ungrateful for a long time. So it's grateful to
be around my friends because we might not get that
chance a go.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
So that's what I love. That's a great mentality to have.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
I think that's the biggest thing about all the bands
is everyone's matured to the degree to where we want
to be in each other's life.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yes, and it's not a task for a job. It's
like we want to be here.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
And like he said, you know, time is not granted forevers.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I was waiting for a band to kind of bring
that up because I just watched an interview with the
guitarist from Periphery and.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
He just talked about how.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
When he had the band as a job, hated it,
but now he's doing it for fun and as soon as.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
It becomes a privilege again, like he said, he's grateful.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
When it becomes a privilege again, then you know you're
doing it right for the right reasons.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
You know. Yes.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Now, I don't know when this episode is gonna air,
so hopefully before tomorrow. But if it doesn't, can't fans
expect you on stage for a killer's confession this Sunday?
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Oh okay, I'm open to it, but like you said,
it's just such a hassle.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I mean, we all have credentials.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah, it was hard to get parking and organizing and
all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
So okay, okay, but we can see that for sure.
December absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Where's that gonna be? I think you're It's.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Gonna be at the Mercury Lounge in Lakewood, Ohio, basically
a suburb of Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yep. But it's toys for cocks, bring toys like you know,
we try to do, you know, something for the kid. Yep.
But it's gonna be everyone kind of together, a lot
of people. Hey, what's up, everybody? This is clip from
Dry Kill Logic. Go check out our new single now
You Belong with the Dad. It's available everywhere. And you
are listening to the Kevin Powell Podcast.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
What kind of mentality do you guys have going into
twenty twenty six? You have that backlaw coming up. You
got some new stuff in the way, we have maybe
some tours and the works. Anything you want to talk about,
we haven't gotten that, that's no, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
You know, we just reunited this van basically in January.
This is our fourth show. We recorded an album. We
got merch out like it's been hard enough to resurrect.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
This is in a six month span, okay, and what
we've accomplished in that span is awesome.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yeah, it's just leaving for you know. And there's no pressure. No,
there's got a beauty of it. That's the beauty of it.
That's what I like to hear. Who did the people
who want to be with the jam with? You know?
Speaker 3 (06:38):
The confidence I have with these guys on stage, they's
a phenomenon. It's like, and we got a sound guy's
here know if you can, and owns a great studio
called Mercenary, and that's where we just.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Recorded all the new albums. Ok Now, it's it's just
it's right, Okay, it's right.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
So I asked bands left and right all the time
during my use and that are where they're at in
their careers. If you guys have any advice to give
to a man that's just starting out or that wants
to see their way to a stage like incarceration. What
would it be now? I could kind of let you
guys go down the line and just let you have
about it.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Just grind and the grateful it comes to play again
and be grateful and just grind your ass off. You
never know who you're going to run into, you.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Yeah, yeah, definitely work, work, but have fun. I mean it,
when it works, it's easy, you know. And that's what
it is with these guys. It's just everything falls into
place and it's not it's worked, but it doesn't feel
like a charm and it just comes together.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
So that's what you got to look for.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Not only that, but it's really about relationships. You don't
want to burn bridges. You don't want to be that
asshole or rockstar egomaniac and anything. Be cooperative, be grateful,
show up, do your job, and you get asked to
do more things.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
And it's that simple.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
You know, go to school, learn finance, invest in stocks
and bonds when you're young years ago, so when you're
thirty five forty years old, you have like some solid
capital to rely on and a reputable portfolio to really
to carry you through your your older years, forty stuff,
(08:16):
whatever it comes and goes.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
That's true. Stocks and bonds, baby, there's our quotes. Stocks
and bonds.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Any final words you guys want to say to fans,
He's the Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
I mean, it's a beautiful rock and hired again. It
hired with these guys. I mean it's really it's a privilege,
as they said before, and I'm eternally grateful.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Is an honor.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Thanks for having us and making the set. Fucking throw
down for it. It was awesome, like to play those
tunes as a fan and be in the band now
like club. Thank you for having us.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yeah, and it was definitely wrap man and we're just
grateful to be invited. And the fans were fantastic, considering
it was raining and you know, hard and park people
were late. Still went out without a hatchet. People seem
to like it, so hopefully what.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
The final words you want to say to fans?
Speaker 6 (09:09):
Disregard everything I said about the stocks, abot, waste all
your money on tattoos, Marshall Amps, buy as many guitars
as you want, and good luck all right.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Two one six guys. I appreciate you stop by for
an interview. Absolutely, we'll see you guys next time.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
We'll be streaming soon.
