Speaker 1 (00:00):
You got on stage this year, you wanked out and
saw all these people.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
What you run through your mind? Nothing? To be honest,
I've learned.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
So I've been close with Lizzie and all the nine
on our Space guys for forever, and it's just it
was such an amazing experience a tour with them, and
just it was like a homie tour.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
It was just sort of like a hangout with you,
hobie tour. What's up? This is Anthony Martinez. It's up.
This is Robbie from Dark Devine and you're watching the
Kevin Powell Podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
We have a brand new single called Better Better Start
Digging that we debuted at Incarceration. We're very excited to
be performing it in front of so many people for
the first time.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
And what else, Robert.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
We also have Made Me Disappear that came out about
six weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
That's another single of ours.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
We just finished recording for an album that's going to
be released over the course of twenty twenty five and
twenty twenty six, and we're just very thankful to be here.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Thank you guys for watching, and stay tuned and take
care of each other. Stay tuned.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Drink water, Hey, guys, let's come bell back again at
incarceration with the cove Bel Podcast and again with Dark Divine.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Remember these guys, Yeah we talked tool was it last year?
Last year? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, I didn't. Now we're here a good that's crazy
to keep following us. What's the biggest difference between last
year this year? You got off stage or you got
all on stage and you're like, oh man, anything at all.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
We had a couple of sound glitches and errors, so
you get the last one. This one we did not.
It was a really good crowd. I feel like we've
definitely played a few more bigger shows.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
We're a lot more comfortable on those bigger stages.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, it's just you know, it's it's a lot less
new like new fronts. It's a lot more just ability
to interact with people.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Still a little bit of anxiety, but not as harsh,
but that just comes. That comes with the territory.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
So you got on stage this year, you walked out
and saw all these people.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
What you running through your mind?

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Nothing, to be honest, I've learned it just sort of
muscle memory through it and oka you know, every now
and then you'll have a little moments where you're just
having a moment with the crowd and that that definitely
sits with you. Yeah, especially like I'm a vocalist, so
like we have a new song in our set called
better Start Digging.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
There's like a call and respond moment that I kind
of teach the crowd and they give.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Us back, and it's Yeah, it's a really such a
real connection with the audience. It's a real like oh
shit moment. Yeah, just hear crowd singing or there's back
to you?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
All right? You want? Was that something? What was the question?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
So he's on muscle memory, he's having a good time,
but you're on stage. As soon as you get out there,
what's running through your mind?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Anything and absolutely everything. It's all like me, which means nothing.
It's it's adrenaline.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
But it's also like, I don't know, I just go
into a different zone. I see all of those people
and I realized in my brain it's our responsibility to
get them moving and make sure.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
They have a good time.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yeah, So I just try and get into my character
and give it my all.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
And we had all I can think about.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
At that point specifically this show, though, I was there
was a bit of a Tarenthill down for us.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
So it was just heard.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I had to split my attention to like give the
promise of my life.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Don't slip right? Oh man?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
That with all those cameras on you too, could you
imagine it would be I'll be thinking about it.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It's on your back saying, you know, like, are we
still are really doing this? You know?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
One of my questions was going to ask you about
a recent tour you did with Not Enough Space and
what do you know you're dating Lizzie.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I didn't know that. It just had that paint. That's
some ship.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So how was that tour? What was it like? Anything
you want to add at all?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It was great?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
It was I mean, so I was in I was
in Not Enough Space from twenty eighteen to twenty twenty one.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Cozy and I.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Started it like forever ago, and when Dark Divine started
getting a little busier, I had to, you know, put
my focus onder that. And that's the hired live from
that and it's just sort of like both bands blossom
from there and from there and yeah, so I've been
close with Lizzie and all the nine in Space guys
for forever and it's just it was such an amazing
experience a tour with them, and just it was like
a homie tour.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
It was just sort of like a hangout with you
homie tour. I was so great.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
There's no pressure. It was just sort of like it
was just a weekend with the boys. Yeah, and the
girls and the girls.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Well, now we've come full circle because you guys know,
I talked to you none of Space a couple of
times already. They're on tour right now and it looks
like they're having a blast. Actually just played Orlando. Yeah, yeah, hometown,
so I can only imagine playing at hometown now compared
to wife years ago.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
It's I mean, it's I love playing hometown anytime you
get a chance to.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's I love being familiar with the venue, of the crowd,
seeing friends you haven't seen forever. Yeah, it's just sort
of like it's.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Definitely evolved since the first you know, the first show,
but that's you know, we played the same Orlando venues
that I go to go like, I go to shows
to see and all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
So I just love doing it and anytime I can.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
So, what do you guys have coming up the rest
of twenty twenty five For.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
The remainder of the Summer Aloud tour. We're finishing that
off all the way. That's with kill Switch, Engage, I, Prevail,
Bear Tooth.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Slew of other bands.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
We also just confirmed and announced the tour What Blessed
the Fall Miss may I and our homies in Colorblind. Yeah,
so that'll be through September and October. And the band
has officially finished our second LP, so we're going to
be working on some cool vision stuff for that and
getting a lot of stuff planned.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
And you guys just came out with some new material,
Am I right? Correct? And it's all part of this LP.
Is that what you said? Yes?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
So as of right now, it's releasing as singles. Our
first single was make Me Disappear, and today we released
Better Start Digging. It's an introduction to an entirely new
chapter of Dark Divine.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Okay, So I got this is a unique question. You
said it released today right Friday. Did you guys know
you were playing Incarceration before you released it or was
this all kind of just a big coincidence?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, technically we didn't.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, no, no, we didn't know that we were playing
Incarceration because originally we were supposed to be on the
first leg of the Summer Allowed tour, which didn't include this. Yeah,
and then it switched so we were able to play
Incarceration and do some aer Allowed on the same leg.
So yeah, we did. We technically didn't know. And then
once the song finally got mixed and mastered and finished stuff,

(05:54):
we were like, well, we might as well, you know,
go ahead and drop it and debut it on the
same day.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Okay tells us that's like perfect timing. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Just to add on to that, we did something similar
so like last year at Incarceration, we released a song
called Digital Numb and it just was kind of happenstance
that it was time to release a new single as
we were about to hit Incarcerations.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
So we just kind of figured, let's do it again.
You know, I have a little moment with the crowd again.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
You could always change the day too, Like if you
were going to put it out in September, it's like, oh,
we're playing.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
It, yeah, Like why would why would you not want
to have a moment with the crowd where like you
get to be a part of the.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
First the first years to hear it.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Plus algorithms and all that fun behind the scenes stuff.
It talks only we care about. Of course, so we
got the LPIE. I'm guessing you guys.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Have some tours around that maybe.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
As of right now, what's booked is we're doing the
Summer of Loud tours and we're on tour with Blest
the Fall in September. After that, we don't have anything books.
I'm sure we're submitted for stuff, but we are the
last any of that, so well, you know, hopefully we are.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Hopefully we don't quit as a band out for this year. No.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
I just spoke to Alice a second ago and I asked.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Her, who are the bands you definitely want to tour with?

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Like, it doesn't matter who they are, just too who
would you guys want tour with?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
I mean any band that goes above and beyond visually.
Of course you're motionless in Whites. We just got off
the floor with Ice nine Kills. That was a phenomenal
performance to be a part of, and just any I'm
a huge fan of any band that just goes above
and beyond visually.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So I would love to do some repeat tours.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
We have a band we told with a band called
Creeper and Ghost kid. What was the Bleeders tour with
black Out Rides? I would love to do something with them.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I can die happy if we toured with north Lane.
That would be amazing.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah, I think do they have new stuff coming? Is
that what I saw?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
North Lane? Yeah? I believe so they just came out
with some newer stuff. I'm sure.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I'm sure they're probably going out with something at some point.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Every album is so unique. I think they were talking
about Node in a post or something.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Oh yeah, yeah, Verse three for it.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, So maybe a remix or remaster or something like that.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
You're the biggest North Lane fans, though, I really am
the biggest ris on the north Lane hour original vocalist
or new vocalist.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
The new vocalist Marcus Bridge.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
He is probably my top one of my top three
vocalists in one entire industry. The range ranges, but he
has insane range from being able to do very very
high notes to you know, anything and everything in between.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I mean, screams, gut roles. He can do at all.
Have you ever seen him live? I have him every time.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
They've come to my city, I've been on tour and
I'm so upset about it.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Listen I haven't seen him live, but I'm a big fan.
I grew up in the times. So if you can't
see a band live but download festivals on YouTube, yeah,
I'm watching it there.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Their stage everything, yep. I couldn't imagine how much goes
into that.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
It's insane.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
And to like see how they dive into the world
of electronica while still staying true to their metal parts
is everything I could hope for in a band.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
It's amazing.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
So this is Dark Divine. They're gonna be open it
up for north Lane next year.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Know I put it on the universe, maybe that would
be amazing. What did I mean?

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I've asked you guys this question last year. I'll ask
every year because I ask every band. What advice would
you guys give the bands that want to they're either
just starting out or they want to see their way
on a stage like incarceration.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Or on tour or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Honestly, like be able to interact with people, be a
people's person and be able to you know, if you
support your local scene, if you love what you do
and you love what.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Other people do.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
That kind of energy, I feel like speaks volumes to
the right years. You know, there's so many prize fighters
that if the attitude just isn't right, you're almost kind
of it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Almost. Yep.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
I love seeing the person who loves music, who loves
I'm sure that this that this is the same with
a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Like people who love what they do. Just find a
way to do it.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
And if you can support your scene, you can support
other people who love doing it. It just kind of
creates this this good relationship with just the music world,
and it just finds a way.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
To reward you app in the end.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Now, some people I've seen it thinking well, it's supporting
a scene, you know, maybe not my scene or.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
The next scene over. You got to do it. It's
not i mean small fry stuck. Yeah, I mean it's
a big difference. Yeah, No, it's.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I've I've gone to tiny shows, I've gone a huge shows,
and it's all you know, usually it all stems down
to the same basic parts. It's just somebody who loves
what they're doing. Yeah, and if you can bring you know,
that little artist up. I've I'm in a position of privilege.
We've toured a lot, we have some experience under our belt.
I love being able to just extend that support that's
been given to us to other people.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
It's just a cool thing. It's a way to do it.
That's a way to do it.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Any final words you guys want to say to fans,
drink water. Just drink water, and that's very important.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Just drink water. Oh are you, Robbie, drink water?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
And stream better start digging and make me disappear on
all social platforms.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Oh yeah, here's where you drink the water going stream,
better start digging on a platforms. We are currently on
tour on the Summer of Loud Festival run. We're gonna
be on tour with Blessed the Fall in the Fall,
so we will bless the Fall with our performance in
the Fall with Blessed the Fall. And yeah, so we
just appreciate everything that we're doing. It's because of you guys,

(11:16):
and drink water.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Drink water.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Check out Dark Devine. These guys have great mentality, great
music as well. They're on tour, they're gonna keep touring
the gout new music coming up. And hey, we're in
cars Ration Festival weekend. Thanks for checking out this episode.
