(00:00):
Here, Hey guys, Kevin Powellhere. I am stoked. So got

(00:26):
back from Incarceration Fest twenty twenty three, very very happy with a lot of
the bands that I saw. Tonsof rock and metal artists on this and
I was there for iHeartRadio and whilehe had media passes and it was a
fantastic time. Me and my girlfriendwent and I just loved every bit of
it. So bands I saw atthis day one saw Volby, saw Coal

(00:52):
Chamber, saw Hate Breed, sawPod, saw Suicide Silence, saw Chelsea
Grin, and saw Fox Leake.I wasn't able to get to see all
the bands I wanted. We wereon a little bit of a time crunch,
but that's okay. Day two wesaw Megadeth, we saw in This
Moment, we saw Motionless and White, We watched Memphis May Fire, we

(01:37):
watched Water to Prevail. I wasable to see my boys in uncured.
So day three that's where things startgetting interesting. So with these media passes,
we weren't too sure, Okay, where can we go? Where can

(01:59):
we goes? A lot of heycan I go here? Yes? No?
Maybe okay. So finally day onewas confusing. Day two got a
little bit better Day three. Iknew what I was doing in Day three.
A lot of bands that we sawDay three, we saw Gideon and

(02:24):
I was able to CrowdSurf to them, got to see Clifford from the side
stage. That was cool. Butthe big thing for me was I had
the opportunity to interview Gavin Rossdale fromBush. I never thought something like that
could ever happen. I'm used todoing like phone interviews or you know,
video interviews. Nothing live. Imean, I've done live before, but

(02:46):
it was just something I was like, Oh man, I usually also talked
to bands they're up and coming orkind of started. Bush has been around
for a while. You know theseguys. They got machine Head, which
is you know, my favorite songfrom them. They got Glycerine, they
got come Down. I mean, let's goes on and on and on,
and they actually have new music onthe way. So I was around the
media tense and there he was.I was introduced to him by some of

(03:09):
the people that were involved, andthis was my live interview with Gavin Rossdale
from Bush. All right, hey, it's Kevin Powell here at incarceration.
We're day three. I was hereall three days with iHeartRadio. I'm super
excited. We got Gavin Rossdale. How are you doing, Gavin Good?
How are you good? It's fromBush. How are you guys feeling today?
I feel great. It's not amessage like cupping and crazy stuff is

(03:31):
cool. Yeah, I feel abit like sleepy right now. I'll wake
up soon. You guys. Justgot off a flight a little bit ago.
Run us through. How a generalday, a big festival like this
is for for Bush. Well,we had to come from far away,
so we went to be up earlyso that an early flight and state actually

(03:53):
a nice Apple hotel and then justgot right on the plane at like eight
or something and came here, gothere at a massage, had a beer,
watched the Wimbledon final earlier actually inthe hotel. It's pretty good.
Now get ready to play. Thengo see other bands that I'm really happy
to see it, like slipnot Slipnot one of the headliners for Incarceration First.

(04:15):
Super excited to see them as well. What about you personally? Do
you have any special things that youdo before a show, any things you've
done over the years that you stillcarry on today. Warm up so I
can sing as best as I canon that day and I don't get trashed
because that feels weird to play disconnected, So I just have a Yeah,

(04:40):
just get warmed up and try andgive everyone a good time. Awesome.
What about this new single I'm hearingabout? Can you tell us anything about
that? Yeah? All things mustchange. It's another song and it's weird
because we wrote it after it wasthe extra tract for the Art of Survival
and in a weird way, thatsong really sums up the art Survival in
a strange way. So I couldhave done just that song instead of all

(05:04):
of the art Survival plus that song. So is it just a new single
coming out or what can we expectcoming up? Well, there's a song
with Amy Lee she sang on asong called A Thousand Years would mean it's
amazing and a couple of live tracks. All things must change and that's it
for that record, all right? So what's coming up for Bush or Arrest

(05:27):
of twenty twenty three? Any bigtours you want to talk about? Any
big festivals? Yeah? Thanks,I think we're doing any Greatest Hits at
the end of the year in Novemberand then going on tour. So we
have a headline tour in November, headlines tore in November. So I like
to kind of wrap in her viewsup talking to bands like this. Do
you have any advice you would liketo give to younger bands band just starting

(05:47):
out? Literally? Anything? Sure, I'd love to There's a really fine
line between listening to everyone and noone. I just funding that instinct into
having a band of brothers and sistersor brother and whoever these days and it's
whatever you want to call yourself andRady's just trusting each other to the collaboration

(06:12):
is the way. Okay, anyfinal things you want to say to fans
as we wrap things up. We'rereally excited to be here. It takes
a lot of work for every singleband to get here, so we're just
one of another band here that's reallyhappy to be here. I'm going to
put on a great show. Awesome, can't wait. So you guys,
Gavin appreciate the opportunity to talk toyou. Stick around' Gonna take a picture
with you here in a minute. That's Gavin with Bush here at Incarceration Fest

(06:34):
twenty twenty three. If you couldn'ttell, I was pretty stoked. I
was pretty excited a little bit nervousbecause again, pretty cool opportunity. So
I just wanted to share that withyou part of the podcast. I hope
you enjoyed it. It was quick. It was a little bit quicker than
I thought it was going to be. But then again, he's had hundreds
of interviews, thousands probably, andhe knows these answers off top of his

(06:57):
head. He doesn't have to thinkabout it. He's straight to the point,
and I love that. If youwere at Incarceration Fest this year,
tell me some of your favorite bandsthat you saw. Were you, you
know, up front, were youin the back where you crowdsurfing? Were
you washing? Did you get tosee any of the headliners? I'm very
jealous. I wasn't able to stayfor any the headliners unfortunately, but I
do have the opportunity to see Lambof God in pantair next week, so

(07:17):
I'm very happy for that, veryhappy for you to tune into this episode
of the podcast. Thanks for youknow, listening, Thanks for listening to
me Rand and tell a story andyou know, share this amazing opportunity I
had with you. I'm very grateful, So again, thank you, and
we'll see you next time.
